Q&A with Deva

Q: How do I set my curls?

A: Remove excess water from hair by scrunching gently in an upward springing motion with a t-shirt or paper towel. Using stylers is a very important step as they provide additional moisture while defining the curls. Product usage is determined by hair thickness, length and your dehydration level. Evenly distribute a palm-full of your choice of stylers between both hands. Tilt head forward, scrunch hair, using an upward spring motion toward the scalp to cultivate curls. Allow curls to dry naturally or diffuse dry with the De-vaFuser. We recommend using more (than less) product as most hair requires the extra moisture and curl definition that specific stylers deliver.

Q: What is the difference between towel drying or using a paper towel or cotton t-shirt?

A: Towels are too absorbent for gentle fabric like hair. They cause friction and tend to leave knots. A paper towel or t-shirt will provide a flatter and smoother surface, absorbing just enough water to allow the styling products to set the curls and keep them intact.

Q: Which De-va styling product should I use to give my curls more volume?

A: B'leave-In curl boost and volumizer will add luster and body to your curls. For a looser curl: Apply B'Leave-In by running your fingers through the hair in a downward motion. For more curl definition: Apply B'leave-In in both hands and in an upward scrunching motion distribute the product evenly.

Q: If I want to eliminate frizz and create curl definition, which De-va product is best?

A: AnGell is a clear, lightweight, moisturizing and defining gel. It crystallizes the wet curl formation until it dries, protecting them from outside interferences such as wind, which can cause friction and frizz when agitated. Then, follow with Set It Free for curl moisture retention.

Q: What is Set it Free and when should I use it?

A: Set it free is a 24-48 hour moisture lock spray made with beeswax and olive oil for maximum frizz prevention, moisture and curl definition. (Note: on fine hair we do not recommend repeated usage throughout the day as too much product may cause the hair to feel heavy).

Q: Will the AnGell leave my hair hard?

A: Initially, yes. The hair should dry to a hardened crystallized cast. Once the curl cast has been scrunched, the hardened cast will dissolve, leaving your curls feeling soft, bouncy and enlivened. The more you scrunch the more volume and curl expansion you will create. The less you scrunch (just enough to dissolve the cast) the more defined and less volume your curls will have.

Q: What is Miste-er Right, and how do I use it to maintain my curls if I do not cleanse daily?

A: This lavender-infused curl revitalizer will refresh even the most delicate and tired curls. Spray evenly and scrunch to reactivate stylers in the hair from the previous day. Miste-er Right will not leave your curls hard.

Q: How can I dry my curls without creating frizz or overheating them?

A: The revolutionary De-vaFuser creates softer, shinier, healthier frizz-free hair by gently drying your curls without overheating them or disturbing them.

Q: How do I set my curls to obtain more lift at the root?

A: Remove excess water from the hair by scrunching with a paper towel. Position the De-vaClips at the base of the scalp in the crown area for added lift and leave in until the curls are completely dry. Remove the clips and scrunch to reveal the curl.
