Sooo...after about 10 years with absolutely no chemicals in my hair I finally took the plunge and attempted to get some highlights. I went to a Devachan type of salon...due to the fact that i am a regular henna user the color didn't take! I can barely see very very dull highlights. However, my hair notice the abuse...so i have dry, shedding hair but NO HIGHLIGHTS!! I am scheduled to go back and use a "stronger" chemical to achieve the color but after seeing my beautiful healthy hair shed continuosly and constantly feeling dry I think I'm ready to go back to henna! I miss the benefits of the natural, messy, smelly, no color really having dye! lol...who knew...Lesson: If it ain't broke don't try to fix it!! :D
Rediscovering Me @ 30!
Hello fellow Curlies! This blog will represent my transition as I move into my new decade. I have been natural most of my life, but mentally i have been a prisoner to flat irons, blow dryers, silicones, etc. Finally I am ready to love & embrace my curls!

|So I tried something new this week curlies! I think I have found a couple new tricks to be added to my regimen for the fall weather (my favorite season..September baby!) Okay so this week I was out of my usual Eco Styler gel...I tried some regular BSS black protein alcohol free gel. I didn't really like the way my hair started coming out. So I searched through my product junkie filled bathroom and found an old product that once was received rave reviews some years ago (I think they have since discontinued this product) but after cowashing I tried using Sebastian Wet Styling gel then applied the black protein gel and I have been rocking my wash and go for the last two days and still going strong!!! A new break-through for me! I baggied and pinappled my hair last night using coconut oil. Today I had GREAT second day hair! Tonight I tried Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie as a moisturizer and I can already tell that tomorrow I am going to LOVE MY HAIR!! I am sooo happy! Happy Growing...|
|So i finally decided to go and get my DevaChan cut! I am so happy that I did. I went to a salon in Roswell, GA called Haarmony Salon. I met with Christina Carsillo. I love this lady! I admire how honest she is in this day and age. The is the second time that I have visited the shop. She uses the DevaChan methods. I went in today for highlights using the Pintura method; due to previous use of henna the color was not able to "lift" much on my hair. She did a dry cut on my hair and then did the color. I love the results of my hair! When I first started my journey I was on a quest for long hair. The more i get to know my kinks and curls the more I fall in love with my hair!|
