So here I go... on the Transitioning journey!
by missAnne
I just turned 30 and I've been transitioning for 9 months now. I'm not just transitioning my hair back to natural right now. I'm transitioning my entire self... back to Love and Happiness! the progress I've made with my hair shows that I can get there! x

Okay I literally just thought of this right now, but I'm about to insert some marley twists in as my December protective style and I've decided I'll be listening to Bob Marley to keep me company throughout!

Protective styling is neat for winter! with aaaaaalll the other stuff going on in my life right now. I decided I won't take it out on my hair. she deserves better. So I kept her in flat twists for a week and just moisturized with leave-in and oil (sweet almond is my new fav!)
It was really refreshing because I could also use my silk scarves... I've missed them so much!!!
This weekend I'll be putting my hair in Marley twists for about two or three weeks. The weather is pretty harsh right now and this long term transitioner needs to do the best things for length retention! I will do a proper deep condition with my fav Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque before installing twists. Can't wait... my first time trying out extensions on my own!!! x |

so my hair was having a few tantrums in the past two weeks and I was getting so tired, I just wanted to go and get my senegalese twists done! But then I've also been ill the past two weeks so that did some havoc to my hair... I wasn't strong enough to really give it proper care, and even went an entire week without co-washing. Baaaad!!!
So over the weekend I decided to give my hair some good TLC. I did a Yoghurt Deep condition and because I have very porous hair, I've been layering my butters before styling. This has really helped my hair retain much more moisture and made me much happier!
I've also been practicing flat twists and the definition has surprised me!
So it's been a good week for styling and moisture! Shea Moisture's Deep treatment Masque is great for styling! x |

For the last 5 days, my hair hasn't really been responding to me like it should. it's been dry and it's making me sad and depressed :-(
I tried to DC, co-wash... basically all the things I would do in my normal regimen. And still nothing. I did a bantu kont out with Shea moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and my hair was much softer this morning! so that perked me up a bit. it's still soft... but not as moisturized as it should be.
I plan to do a henna application this weekend (my second) and then have a proper DC afterwards. I want to practice my flat twists so I'll try that this weekend.
Hope it gets better...x |

Thinking of getting some Senegalese twists in a week or so as the weather gets harsh-er!
This weekend calls for a protein treatment...x
