99/85 – Routine 11/6
Monday, November 7, 2011
My hair has been washed and conditioned and boy does it feel pleased about that. I also did a quick trim afterward. Aaaaah. Relief. I threw it back into a bun today for work as usual… but I’m looking forward to taking it down when I get home… now that it’s clean, it feels, looks and smells a lot better. I’ll have to do better the next time I have a barrage of busy weekends like this.
The routine: Pre-poo’d, co-washed/detangled, shampooed, rinsed, deep conditioned, rinsed, t-shirt dried until damp, twisted to stretch and dry, sealed ends.
Pre-poo: Coconut, Olive, Castor, Jojoba Oil
I was just squeezing in a bit of everything… I was so amped to pre-poo and detangle a little bit. I wound up leaving the pre-poo in for almost 2 hours.
Co-Wash/Detangle: Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut Conditioner
I don’t always do this, but I figured I needed the slip.
Shampoo/Co-Wash: Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner
I’ve decided that I’m not a fan of the shampoo. That’s my official opinion. It seems to dry my hair out too much… makes my hair feel really raw. So I mix it with the conditioner to lessen that effect. My hair was definitely free of the weeks of product buildup, though. Hallelujahpraisedance on that!
Deep Condition: Homemade Concoction
This was an out-of-the-blue concoction based loosely on Naptural85’s Greek yogurt conditioner. I added honey and oils to mine and tried it on for size. Meh. I wasn’t blown away, but it did provide some moisture. I don’t know if I would do it again. *shrug* I applied some more Aubrey Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner after rinsing it out.
Seal: Coconut OilI’m guessing it’s because of the high-protein content in the yogurt, but my hair felt a little harder than usual. I don’t know myself to be protein-sensitive, but I also don’t use high-protein products often enough to be sure. What I DO know is that I didn’t like the crunchiness.
MICKEEEYYYY!!!!! (screaming it like, "ROCKYYYY!!!") LOL! Where are you lady? I keep checking in to see if you have a new post (and pics of course) and you've been MIA for most of the month. I hope it's just because you are busy and all is well. Don't be a stranger! *hugs*
Sheesh. I feel doubly terrible now. I totally didn't see this comment until today!!! :(
