Hello Shrinkage:)
|
I've definitely noticed changes in my hair with the start of a new month. I'm now in month 6. My hair was never dry and never required daily moisture applications. All of that is out the window now lol. My hair has become dry and now I notice shrinkage has started. I've had to try new products in my hair because everything that worked for my normal, permed hair isn't working for my transitioning hair that is now moisture quenched. I have been using the Shea Moisture products which my hair seems to love. I am using the raw shea butter line on my hair with great results. I just got the shampoo recently but I have everything in this line. I started off with the deep treatment masque. The first time i used it i was heavy handed so my hair didn't like it. The second time i used less and my hair loves it. Less is more with this one, for my hair. I love the scent and my hair felt great after. I used a little of the deep treatment masque to twist my hair every night as well since it can also be used as a leave in. Obviously you wouldn't slather on a whole glob if you're leaving it in or twisting with it as i am, just a little. I just got a trim at my salon and she said my hair is looking great and is growing out nicely. I forgot to mention that i can no longer just wash my hair as I used to. Now it becomes tangled if I wash it all together like before. Now I have to section my hair in 4 braids before i get in the shower and then I wash & condition each section and then on to the next. I've found that this is the only way I can wash my hair now to make sure it's not a tangled mess once I'm done. I tried to wash it the way I used to before and spent 2 hours trying to section & detangle my hair, lesson learned lol. I started using sulfate free products way before I decided to grow out my perm and my relaxed hair likes them and my transitioning hair like sulfate free products as well. That's the only thing I have in common with the 2 hair textures at the moment. Let's see what happens next month:) |
