Hi!! This is my first post! Anyway recently I had my haircut to around medium length with layers and immediately LOVED it I because hair was curlier. So Day 4 of going shampoo free. Today I swear I must have used half a bottle of Vo5 conditioner to moisturize my hair after c/o washing. How is it that in muggy Illinois my hair seems drier than it ever has been? Is it the water? And my hair is in that awkward gunky stage of transitioning, ugh. Hey all, it's been quite a while since I've posted anything. I just finished with my finals week which is really exciting, and since I ended early my spring break starts early too!!! I Wake Up every day with dry and moisture rise daily but it is always dry. After a few hours of watching Mahoganycurls videos I discovered the problem. I always knew too many sulfates were harmful but since I've gone natural I hadn't realized how harmful to my curls. My eyes have opened. Its been only 4 months since I did the big chop. Hey everybody,About three months ago I did the big shop and my hair has grown like crazy since then. Last night after I posted my first blog I had pretty much decided that today I would use my sulfate free shampoo again today. My hair was kind of limp and definately greasy! However, when I got in the shower this morning I really wanted to avoid any shampoo if I could. So I decided to cowash and see how it felt after that. The Beginning....My Hair Story
My Love affiair with natural hair began in 2009 while helping my mother (who had unintentionally fully transtioned to natural hair) find products and styles. At the time I had waist length relaxed hair and even though it healthy I was not satisfied with my mane. The more I researched (Youtube & Blogs) the more I fell in love with all things natural.
