Advertures in Curls, Cuts & Color
So, I have had my fair share of hairsperience - some amazing and some not so great. I have been in a hair magazine where the advertised salon did a before and after, before my hair was wet and combed straight and after when they supposedly gave me a spiral perm - Ha!
I have also been on a TV show where they decided my curly hair made me look fat, so they styled it straight and cut it for the straight style. I am still recovering my hair from that TV show, I recently got it cut again, a bit shorter than I wanted in order to make the curls work again, and although the length isn't my best, the cut is amazing and I know it will grow out to best highlight my curls. And I think my curls make me look phat - not fat.
For the last three years, I lived in Japan where they couldn't/wouldn't cut my hair. The two salons that would do it, first spent an hour brushing and combing my hair straight - ouch! Two Japanese girls working on me at once with combs and brushes. Every time I traveled outside Japan, I was desperate for a hair cut - so vacation meant haircut time!
My universal tips for styling my hair are little or no shampoo, really good conditioner, and put those styling products in with wet hair and let it air dry (or diffuse for va-va-voom volume)! I love to find out about new products on naturallycurly.com.
