At the age of twelve, Christo began apprenticing in a family owned salon in the Greek island of Cyprus. During his high school years, Christo ventured to Paris and fell in love with Parisian fashion and techniques, and by his senior year of high school, he had opened his own private studio there. From Greece, Christo traveled throughout Europe and into Asia, learning secrets of the trade and cultivating his own enriched style and vision. As a leading Platform Artist and Educator, he was enchanted by the energy of New York City.
In 2002 Christo opened his luxurious salon, Christo Fifth Avenue, and launched Curlisto Systems -- which is today's number one botanical hair care line specially formulated to nourish and rejuvenate everyone's curls -- even if your hair is straight! Since the salon's opening, Christo has received a myriad of awards and honors that have distinguished not only the success of his artistic work, but also his philanthropic and charitable deeds. Christo has been a sponsor and lead designer for many fashion shows including San Francisco Fashion Week 2005, New York City Fashion Week 2006 and 2007. He was featured on news segments on ABC, CBS, FOX 5, and Telemundo. Christo was invited to transform hair color and style for TLC's "Date Patrol" and Bravo's "GUIDE TO STYLE". Various other media include In Style Magazine, People En Espanol, Teen Vogue, Marie Claire, etc. He has received recognition throughout the industry as the "King of Curls".
