Gretchen - Hair Type: 3a One of the best curl-definers I've ever used. And, a little goes a long way!

laurabeth33 - Hair Type: 2b I love-love-love this stuff, especially over CK! It gives me amazing, curl boosted, chunky curls. I seem to get the best results when I use only a little bit and use a wide-toothed comb to evenly dispurse it.

webjockey - Hair Type: 3a Love the stuff! It is easy to use and provides the right amount of softness, curl definition and shine to weigh down my curls without being too crunchy.

Gretchen - Hair Type: 3a I love it, too. Awesome curl separation and definition. A little goes a long way.

Michelle B - Hair Type: 3b One of the best products I've tried for curl formation. The curls aren't crunchy at all, but they have good definition and shine. It has a nice, creamy consistency - not greasy.
curlywurlygurly - Hair Type: This gives me awesome curls! It doesn't dry out my curls and you only need a tiny bit (small pea size)

amberlaine - Hair Type: 3b It took me a bit to get on the bus with this. But once I figured out that this product likes to be RAKED through WET hair and not scrunched through damp hair, it made all the difference.
Re:Coil makes my 3b curls put their best foot forward. My curls, which have a tendency to run amok in all directions, have shape, clumpage, and definition. My curls are fatter and bouncier than with nigh any other product I've ever tried.
I use Re:coil in combination with Curl Keeper and finish off with Curlisto's Unruly Paste for a shiny, piecey turnout. I'm forever getting compliments from strangers on my "beautiful curls". That has never, honestly, ever happened before.

onethousandcurls - Hair Type: 3b Jury's still out, but so far, a TINY bit does go VERY far. I use a spot the width of the bottle's opening, mixed with a dollop of L'Oreal Out of bed Weightless Texturizer, and smooth throughout the hair. I use a second portion like the first for the under layers. I seem to be getting less clumping than just with LOOB, so I might use even less Re:coil next time.

Miller - Hair Type: 3b I have spent a fortune on products for my 3B short hair. This is absolutely the best - defines and lasts.

mncohan - Hair Type: 3a ReCoil styling product was a little too heavy for my curls, but I love the shampoo and conditioner. Smells great, leaves my hair soft and allows my curls to do their thing!

MSeabrooks - Hair Type: 3c I noticed this product wasn't as moisturizing when I put it on as what I'm used too. However, when my hair dried, it looked great and my hair was moisturized. As the day wore on, though, my hair got drier and drier. By the end of the day, my hair was dry, course, and frizzy. The moisture doesn't last all day for me, even though it starts off pretty good. The smell was a little too strong for me too. Happy to hear it works for a lot of 3Cs out there. My 3C/4A hair really absorbs moisture and I need products that work 'all day' since I don't have time to reapply during the day.

Cidsa - Hair Type: On the rare occasion this will work, but it's really just too heavy for my fine hair (2a/2b). Seems like it's for people with curlier/thicker hair.

KinkyPJ - Hair Type: 4a Folks I done tried it all. This did not work in my 3C/4A type hair. Gave it to my friend and gonna keep it moving.

mysteryflavored - Hair Type: I love this mixed with Confident Coils. It makes my hair curl all the way up to the root, and gives me the cutest chunky spirals. Also, mixing this with CCSS makes it much easier to distribute (something I could never do well with it on its own). Have not yet had a problem with dryness, but I do rotate my products.

the23rdelf - Hair Type: 3a Smell is very pleasant, promotes awesome clumping. A little goes a long way, has a somewhat paste-y texture when applying so sometimes more touching than my hair can handle is necessary thus frizz... but am starting to try it layered with other products with good success. Overall a very great product!

mainsworth - Hair Type: 3a I agree with everyone else, this stuff is amazing! I have the best results when I use about a pea size amount, and mix it with some water and then work it into wet hair. It is very thick and you don't need much. I can use it alone for soft curls, or with my gel for tighter, long lasting curls. I believe that the people that posted negative results weren't using it correctly. Awesome, awesome product!

Liesa - Hair Type: 3b I absolutely freakin' love this product. It is one of the best curl enhancers I have ever used. Everybody is right, though, a little bit will go an awful long way. And, you get such great shine, frizz control and curl definition. I like to layer it over my favourite volumizing mousse. I have gotten so many compliments on my gorgeous curls when I use Re:coil. This past new year's I was a curl goddess! The only complaint I have (and this is a very, very tiny complaint) is the smell. It's sort of sweet, I don't know, like vanilla ice cream or something. To me, it's not a fresh, clean smell. However, it does go away really quickly and you're still left with super model curls ready to walk the catwalk of life.

Rose - Hair Type: 3a I do like this product. I think this would be better for me in the summer when it is really humid. I liked this product a lot but prefer Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner. However, this works too, that's why I give it three curls.

dominicancurls06 - Hair Type: 3c I had such high hopes for this product when it arrived in the mail. First, the consistency feels like glue. Second, once my hair dried my hair was clumped togeter at the crown of my head. Third, it flattened the top of my head and created clumpy curls at the bottom. Fourth, my curls were so crunchy once they dried. I will try experimenting with countaties as suggested, but right now this product is terrible for my curls.

l.deon - Hair Type: 3b I found this product easy to use. It made my curls soft and bouncy, used in conjuction with the leave in conditioner. I like that it didn't leave my curls sticky or crunchy. The scent wasn't too bad either.

carolcurls - Hair Type: 3c (3c) really good product. great definition w/o leaving is crispy or stiff. a little goes a long way. i've got A LOT of hair and i use a small dollop of it (penny size). feels a little drying w/ prolonged use, but i've curbed that by using just a tad of grapeseed oil or glossing creme before i put AG on. then it holds the moisture very well.

measam - Hair Type: 3b Wow! This really worked for me. A small dap layered between leave-in and Curl Keeper and I had the curls I crave--big, chunky, shiny, touchable, frizz free curls. Strange texture out of the tube, and it seems to get thicker in your hands. Definitely easier to use on very wet hair. Moving this product the head of the line.

curlyblonde - Hair Type: 3a I bought this awhile ago and used it with the AG Fast Food. When my hair dried and I touched it I would come away with a white residue on my hands. I haven't used it since. However, I may have used too much or should not have combined them. I'm going to give it another shot I'll let you know how it goes.

egyptiancurls89 - Hair Type: 3b this is my absolute HG along with aloe vera gel!! i use them together or just recoil alone and either order i choose always gives me beautiful curls! my hair is much more curlier and silky when i use recoil vs. just aloe vera gel. i know its expensive but im a poor college student and i still find a way to buy this stuff. its def worth it!!

FRAGGLE - Hair Type: 3b I am disappointed with this product. It's very concentrated which I thought would be a good thing, but I have to use a lot to get thru my hair, and it doesn't help frizz at all, therefore I can't comment on the curl formation. On to the next product!
CurlRating: 5 May 21, 2007
CurlPrincess - Hair Type: 3b I cannot believe how much difference this product makes. I have a perfect system that leaves my curls completely frizz free now and this is the crowning glory (last product I use to finish me off). If I use something else, it shows. If I use Devacare Lowpoo, DevaCare One Condition, Curl Keeper and finish with this, my hair is literally frizz free with soft loose curls. I have noticed though that all 4 products must be used together or some of the frizz comes back so they work in conjunction with one another. This truly takes the frizz down and out. Its wonderful stuff.

reina - Hair Type: 3b Like everyone has said, a little really does go a long way. And it is hard to work with. That being said...
PROS:
-clumps curls together extremely well. If you're like me and have lots of wispy strands of curls flying around everywhere, it will definitely help.
-concentrated. Will last a long time
CONS:
-virtually no frizz control in the summer. Not good, especially since it tends to weigh hair down (another con)
-it's really hard to get consistent good results with this product. It's pretty finicky.
I have fine 3b hair, I like this product for the chunkier curls but it really is difficult to get the right amount without weighing your hair down. I think for thicker, coarser hair, it may work better.

unrulycurlgurl - Hair Type: 3b Probably the best product I've found for my hair, but it's not perfect. Great definition and some shine, but you have to use exactly the right amount, otherwise it feels glue-y. I like to mix it with something with a lot of silicone, like JF's DownPlay.

ColoradoCurly - Hair Type: 3a Love this! Mix with curl keeper for frizz-free curls that last all day. My curls tend to be a little too crunchy if I use too much of this product, but this stuff is great to enhance the curl in the straighter hair around my face.

Bailey422 - Hair Type: 3a LOVE this stuff! It's the only curl activator I've tried that actually works. I use a very small amount (less than a pea-size) under my other stylers. I can definitely tell that my hair is much curlier when I use this stuff.

deepredringlets - Hair Type: 3a I like to use this product once in a while when I want a real strong hold but it is "crunchy" in my hair. It has great hold and gives lots of volume. Can dry my hair out if I use it to often.

superlanky - Hair Type: 3a Again this did nothing for my hair. I bought four products from AG Hair and about the only thing I liked is the Xtramoist shampoo.

Leilani42 - Hair Type: 3a I don't think I've had the same luck with this product as most of you. It's nice, and I'm still experimenting with it, but it isn't the best thing I've ever used. So far, my best results have come when I mixed a small amount of it with FastFood and apply it that way.

superrach3 - Hair Type: 3a i'm not sure how i feel about this product...once i get it to work, it cuts down on frizz and enhances curls, but it takes so much effort to keep it from weighing down my hair and making it a fluffy frizzy mess.

petitfox - Hair Type: 3a Re:coil is my HG cream styler, that I adore even more than Boots! It has enough hold for me to use it alone when I want a softer look. I just love how it controls frizz, it's quite miraculous actually considering the number of products that I've tried and that didn't keep their promise to eliminate frizz... I mix it with water in my hands so distribute it easily and evenly in my hair. It's fantastic in wet and dry hair, and for 2nd day curls. My hair even turns out shiny with it!
CurlRating: 5 May 03, 2006
krisan54 - Hair Type: 3b I love this stuff! I use it in with Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam (medium hold) and some watered-down gel. The Re:Coil helps to evenly curl my hair all over, and it makes it possible for me to wear my hair curly a second day without having to thoroughly wet it. It works okay by itself, but the combination of this with the sculpting foam makes my curls outstanding.
CurlRating: 5 May 01, 2006
Ringlet - Hair Type: 3a This stuff is great. Curl definition is better than any other product I've used.

jennyferr - Hair Type: 3b A/G is fast becoming one of my fave lines. Recoil is a difficult product to work with... I give everyone that. What works very well for me is mixing about 40% recoil with 60% fastfood, smooshing it all together in my hands and then scrunching in my hair when still dripping wet. Then I plop for 10 mins, dry and voila, way better than curls rock for me (I can't find anything to mix this one with). Worth a shot IMHO.

4crazycurlz - Hair Type: 3c I feel like I have tried almost every product out there. Recoil is the absolute BEST for my hair. My hair is dry, frizzy, and wild. This tames it. It gives fab definition that my hair does not get with any other product. Remember, every curly head is different, but for me, this is it!

Ro-Ro - Hair Type: 2b I've been using re:coil since I first started going "natural" almost one year ago. Although I do not use it daily, I always keep in near by. I HATE the fact that it is not consistant with me. Some days BEAUTIFUL hair, other days frizz ball mess. When I do get the right amount in my hair, I get such awesome volume, softness, hold, CURL!! and my hair just looks so natural! Plus, I love the smell. On bad days, my hair grets very frizzy with this cream, or it feels so producty!? I tried watering this down one day with water and my hair felt so gookey...as if it were coated in oil and water?? Not doing that again. Plus, 16$ canadian for this moderate sized tube that doesn't seem to last long for me- NOT good. Overall, I keep coming back to this cream because when it works, it really does do magic on my hair! Very different results from what I've ever gotten from another product!

PixieCurl - Hair Type: 3a great product. i like to use it on dry 2nd-day hair. i rub a small amount between wet hands then smooth it into my hair and scrunch and it brings back curl and definition, as well as reducing frizz. love the smell.

sunshynseeker - Hair Type: 3a Pretty good cream, works well for me for curl formation and some frizz control in the summer, but like my HG (aloe vera gel), it doesn't seem to work during the winter months when the dry heated indoor air makes my hair limp.

curlygurly - Hair Type: 3b I LOVE this product! Great curl formation! I can't use it alone, but with a gel the results are fabulous! I'll definitely be ordering more. Plus I love the smell.

miacurl - Hair Type: 3a Re-review of this: Nice chunky curls. No layering required, but I do put a bit of pomade over it for shine at times. Nice scent. A little goes a long way. Works best for me to rake it in vs. scrunching. Great 2nd day hair too.

CurlyNight - Hair Type: 3b Wow! Fantastic stuff! This product actually clumps my hair togethre to produce thicker and curly coils! I tried it alone after the Fast Food leave in, and it looked really good! As stated though, you must start with a dab and I recommend on wet hair, not damp. Experiment with it before giving up on it. It always takes trial and error with quantities and application techniques before you can say whether a product works great for you or not. 4 curly coils from me for Re:Coil!

weecurlie - Hair Type: 3b People seem to either love or hate this one. For me, it's a miracle. Great curl formation without greasiness or weighing down. On very humid or rainy days it doesn't work as well, though.

redheadludi - Hair Type: 3b I am definitely NOT impressed. With as much money as it costs, this product should work miracles. This left my hair crunchy, even though I applied a small amount. However, it did give good curl formation. This product is a typical gel and my Suave Aloe Vera Gel (3$) works just as well.

curlyara - Hair Type: 3c This is one of the best curl activator's I've ever tried, and I've tried several! Awesome curl definition...the curls I have with this are the clumpiest my curls have ever been. It doesn't feel greasy at all. Didn't really like the smell, but it's tolerable (if you like Lifesaver's Creamsavers or Creamsicles, you'll like the smell of this!). Also gave me a tiny bit of shine. Apply with a light hand, and add more if necessary. This product is amazing for my 3b/3c/4a hair.

dawng - Hair Type: 2a This did nothing for my short 2a hair but make it greasy and weighed down. I kept reducing the amount I used each time, but when I got to the amount that didn't weigh it down - I just got frizz. My husband commented that my hair looked dirty. Too bad, I had high hopes for this one.

bijou223 - Hair Type: 3a I like this a lot! I have 3A (although can go from 2C-3B depending on whatever mood it's in that particular day!) hair. I work Re:Coil through damp hair, then use Paul Mitchell Super Sculpt glaze over. I get beautiful, controlled curl! Not sticky, not frizzy. Remember that a little goes a long, long way. Easy to use too much, which will give you icky hair. My only complaint is that I hate the way this smells! Very strong, gagging vanilla scent. Truly awful. The PM glaze seems to take it away though, so I'll keep using because of the great results I get with this!

daniele - Hair Type: 2b I really like this product. It makes my hair soft defines curls, and helps with the frizzies. A little does go a long way. Be warned that you can not put too much product in one spot, if you do you hair will be flater and feel greasy. If you are careful with that it's a great product.

mona - Hair Type: 3b The best way to describe the way this product is it's like you just rubbed hand lotion on your head. If you use enough to get curl definition, it weight hair down, flattens the top and creates clumpy curls. If you use just a bit, hair is frizzy and just plain wierd. Too bad because i had looked forward to using this product. And the price! Sixteen bucks for something this bad? Don't waste your money.
