It has become one of my favorite gels. It has more hold than Angell, which I need, and actually moisturizes my hair. I use it in my 5-year-old daughter's hair and she wakes up with perfect curls!

Love it! It works much better for me than AnGell. I get good hold and curl formation. No stickiness or crunch.

Definitely better than Angell with more hold to the curl. I love this product for everyday styling. My curls stay fresh looking for at least 2-3 days. It works best in conjunction with other deva products but not to well with other brand leave in conditioners( FYI-tried it with mixed chicks leave in conditioner and redken detangling creme).

Add me to the list of people who prefer this over Angel (which is also great, but this one is even better at creating soft, defined, voluminous, frizz-resistant curls especially on my wavier hair). I'll miss the scent of Angel... but this orange one isn't horrible :)

My hair is 3c/4a kinky, coily and corkscrew curls. This product worked great. It didn't weigh my curls down and only took a couple hours to fully dry. I used DevaCare One and Set It Up underneath and my hair looked and felt very moisturized after it dried and no crunch. The only thing my hair was dripping wet after I applied everything that's why I gave it a 4 curls. Other then that great gel!

I love, love, love this product. Used it with B-leave and I got the most incredible results. Not dry, soft, no crunch, held my curls the best I have ever seen. Absolutely no frizz... Like I said... I LOVE THIS STUFF! My newest and best ever routine product line!

I really like this gel. It smells nice (like oranges) and leaves my hair very shiney, and moisturzed. It only received 4 curls from me because it doesn't quite have enough hold to last all day. I had very good results combining this with the AG recoil curlactivator. An option to try for 3/a hair, remember to scrunch it into wet hair after you get out of the shower that seems to work the best. You use quite a bit of this stuff so the bottle doesnt last long.

Like naturl34, this did not provide as much hold for me as DevaCurl AnGell. It also didn't do much for frizz reduction. I recently tried BRHG and found that I prefer a stronger gel. It might be better for those who prefer a lighter hold.

Oddly enough, this gel does not provide as much hold for me as the Devacurl Angell. I'm not sure what the deal is, but this stuff left my curls less defined and my hair more poofy overall. The dreaded poof! It smells nice and orangey, but just didn't work for me. I'll exchange it at Ulta tomorrow.

This has been the best product for me. It was not crunchy or oily. It defined the curls and I actually airdried and just tied my hair up in small bunches and I got really nice ringlets. Loved the product

I'm still on the fence with this one. I had been using KCCC, but it takes so long to dry and I have to go to work with wet hair for most of the day...not ok. This dries faster and gave me good curl definition. However, I noticed more frizzies and it might be a little drying. Next time I'm going to combo it will shea butter--this time I used KCKT.

I didn't like it when I let my hair air dry, but with diffuser it was great. I didn't need another product and my curls where full and shinny. Also they look pretty good the next day, just sprayed some Set It Free and my curls were revived.

One of the best gels for 3c/4a hair. I leave most of Deva OneCondish in my hair & set w/Arc Angell and that's it! Add a little Set me up & above on really humid days. Curl shape is retained and shiny.

hair type 4a. I went natural about a year ago. I tried tons of products from low cost to too expensive. Once i tried the DevaCurl line of products I had no success. I gave up using a towel to dry my hair and after the third week of using the line I see the difference. These are great products; you really should use the whole line. I am loving them!!!

I was having so-so results with the AnGell and decided to try this instead, it works much better on my 3a hair. The hold is much stronger and isn't as crunchy as the other, especially in conjuction with the Set It Free. It gave me beautiful curls with no crunch!!

This product doesn't give me quite as much hold as I need to avoid the frizzies. It works great in the front where my hair tends to be a bit straighter but in the back where I need more hold it is lacking. It is soft without any crunchiness but doesn't hold up all day.

Not a bad gel and it does what it says, it is a stronger hold than AnGell. However, it is expensive and I can achieve the same look (or better) with a cheaper gel (LA Looks Sport). Also, Arc AnGell leaves a coating on my hair that makes my hands all sticky when I scrunch after my hair dries. It also leaves flakes on my shirt, too, which is gross.

I love this stuff! The only reason it isn't getting 5 curls is because my hairstylist can get absolutely amazing results for me using this, and I can get nice results, but not as good as she does. I'm still playing with it. Not drying at all, smell isn't too strong, and I have A LOT less frizz than I used too. Overall it's amazing. Expensive but really works great!

I have tried for years to find ONE product that would hold my thick, unruly curls together. I used to use a mix of Paul Mitchell Mousse and and Curls Rock pomade, in MASS amounts and I'd end up with crunchy hair. Until now...I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE this stuff...a palm full is all it takes, and my hair is tame and shiny all day. Definitely an HG for me from now on!

This gel is awesome for my 4a curls/coils. Applying it seems like it might dry the hair out, but like a previous reviewer said IT DOESN'T. After it dries you're left with beautiful, shiney, soft frizz free coils. You also don't need that much product to get the job done. Definitely working towards HG status.

ArcAngell is definitely the solution for those who need more hold than Angell. When I use it I find I need to use less product than Angell to get the hold I need. The one thing I like about Angell over ArcAngell is the protective cast it forms around the hair. I feel that feature gives my curls more definition and allows them to dry with the cuticle closed before scrunching it out.

I had better luck with this than Angell, but I still can't get consistent results. The only reason that I am continuing to try and work with this product is because so many of the curlies here have spoken so highly of it. I got great curls one day, but havan't since. I only use this on a weekend when it won't bother me if my hair doesn't turn out. I'm hoping that with practice I can figure out how to use this stuff consistently!

Sticky, stiff, unshiny, unhappy curls. Didn't seem to encourage curl formation. Didn't feel good to much my curls- no matter if I diffused, air-dried, or blow-dried. Experimented with amount used. Still gave me bad-looking hair. Try Ouidad.

It's not entirely a waste of money. I've tried worse conditioners. I bought this with the whole Angell line and have used it for over a month as directed. It came highly recommended by the salesperson and has not impressed me. Does it untangle? Well, it's better than nothing. Does it moisturize? Again, I guess it's better than nothing. But my hair has looked better. Has looked a LOT betterm, in fact. And this stuff isn't cheap. I suggest using other products- like Ouidad- over this one. Too expensive and for poor results.

I think this is the best gel I've used on my hair. It feels as if it would dry it out, but it doesn't! The best is that it holds my hair together for a good three days, with a list misting. Only negative, frizzes show up in day two.

It's great with a real good leave in under it but with B'leave in the curls are even more enhanced. I'm 3a and live in a very humid state (so I need hold even in the winter during rainy days)

I don't think I can praise this gel enough. I LOVE it. It is by far the best hair styling product I have ever used. And there has been many... I have never liked my hair better in my entire life as now. Maybe the fact that I have found other products (my conditioner at least) that work really well with my hair too is a factor, but still, LOVE this gel. Maybe it is the one...The HG.

The first gel I've ever really liked! Medium to strong hold and no frizz. Used after B'Leave In, I can finally accomplish 2nd day hair. It's also worked well over every other product I've tried. Just wish it had the Angell smell rather than the Devacare orange smell but it quickly disappears. Will defintely repurchase it.
