I don't use this very often because it's too heavy for wavy hair. But I use it when I have an updo or I'm pulling my hair back and I need to smooth out flyaways. It has great hold and the smell is great!
Does exactly what I want it to do. Check out my full review by copying and pasting the link in the address bar. http://youtu.be/Gq6kMCVwqJI
So.... my hair loves this stuff. I've never used a jelly or custard of any kind on my hair before but that is definitely changing this summer. I co-washed my hair (de-tangled the night before with coconut oil) then put on my leave-in and then applied this section by section as I finger coiled my hair. The results were soft defined curls that last. I have been stretching and fluffing all day and the curls are still intact. I wish I could post a picture just to show how awesome these curls are along with how little product it took. Just amazing!!!!
Smells great, which is the only reason I gave it a 2. But it left my hair feeling like straw, and as the day went on my curls had no definition. My hair was just a big frizzy puff. Never using again.
Was really disappointed. This product smelled DELICIOUS...however it left my hair supppppper dry.
It gave my coils a soft feeling, yet a firm hold, without flakes or stickiness. This is the kind of "gel" I like to use. If my hair was longer, I think it would be nice for twist outs and such. It also has a nice perfume-like smell. I think it's pleasant and not too strong and unless you have longer hair around your face you probably won't smell it too much after it dries. I do get occasional whiffs of the scent, but I like it so, it doesn't bother me.
The scent is AMAZING! I love the way this smells. I used a leave-in conditioner underneath it, raked it through my t-shirt dried hair, and did about 10 twists. I use a little bit of oil to take them down. It left my hair feeling soft yet defined. Though, you still might want to use a moisturizer or conditioner, because girl... your hair will need it. I would compare the consistency to Kinky Curly Curling Custard. So, as for it's claim to frizz free defined curls it is right on the money. The only reason Im giving this custard 4 and not a 5 is because of that price tag.
Smells SO GOOD. One of my favorite stylers now (i initially gave it a 3 out of 5 but i changed it!) It's so slippery I can finger detangle. WITH A STYLER. Yes. It smooths the hair cuticles so my twist outs are smooth and shiny. It reactivates when you wet it, so there's no need to reapply mid-week, just spritz water or leave-in spray and retwist or re-wash & go. Works on dry and damp hair. I just love it all around. It's super moisturizing so watch out if you're in a humid climate your hair will be juicyyyyy (which means bye bye twist out but hello natural curl pattern)
I shingled this gel on freshly washed, wet hair and then sat under a hooded dryer with a cold setting for 30 mins. I did not like how the custard felt while fingercombing it through my hair. My curls were defined but the gel left a slight cast on my hair. After I scrunched with castor oil, my hair was very soft. The only reason this gel is receiving a 3 out of 5 is because it does not function as a moisturizer and curl definer. The less product, the better.
