Awesome product. I would not say it's other worldly awesome. But regular awesome. It did it's job and did not strip hair. Also I love that it's called a hair wash. Different.
Nice citrus smell. A little goes a long way. Surprised me, but each time, my hair was soft after the final rinse. I like this shampoo. I just wish the p.gylcol wasn't added.
I wanted to give this product more like 4.5 rating. I really, really liked it!!! I'm old school, have had natural hair for 20 years now, and I like sulfates. I need my shampoo to lather and clean my hair, and this product delivers. My hair felt clean, and the lather was moisturizing. The last time I used it was right after taking out twists. I was a bit skeptical, since I usually have significant shedding, but to my surprise, I experienced very little. I was able to start the detangling during the washing process, and that is something I don't usually do. I used about a quarter sized amount and got a nice lather. The smell didn't stand out, but it's fine since the rest of the line is pretty fragrant.
Loved the scent...it did clean my hair well, but left it a bit dry. The conditioner made up for what the shampoo took away though, so I wasn't too bummed.
I enjoyed this product the least out of the entire line. It dried out my hair and didn't really cleanse that well. The smell was good, but overall I'd say it was ok, not impressive enough to want to keep as a staple.
I used this twice and threw it away... It has sulfates in it and left my hair feeling dry as a bone... it smells good, but for me that is not enough to give it another chance... it does give a good lather, if you can take the hair feeling dry as a bone part...
Perhaps I didn't use enough when I tried this - because it didn't cleanse as well as I thought it would! My scalp wasn't entirely clean after the first time I used it. The next time I used it, I used WAY more and I was left with a happy scalp! So be generous with this product, at least that's what worked with me.
This product is just what I look for in a cleanser. It had a great light scent and it did not leave my hair feeling stripped.
A little goes a long way with this delicately scented hair wash. My scalp felt clean, but it didn't leave my hair stringy and dry. Instead, it was soft and moisturized, which is a rare. I did notice a significant decrease in hair shed in the shower.
I love the scent and softness it gives my hair. It is thick and works well when rinsing it out.
After I used this product along with the conditioner from the anti breakage line, my hair felt super clean and I knew that all the product I had in my hair before hand was washed out. It has a great lather too.
wonder scents left my hair nice and soft!! Didn't strip my hair at all. It gives great lather and a little goes a lonnng way.
This is a pretty smelling, rich, thick cleanser! I absolutely never felt my hair was stripped down due to using it. Also, my hair is colored, and it didn't affect the color properties! I will buy this product!
You know what makes this product AMAZING? The smell. It isn't overly sweet, and it's a hair wash that both men AND women could use. It smells like all of the other products in the line, meaning your hair won't have a ton of weird smells coming from it. Now I'll stop talking about the scent, but really, give it a try if you aren't a fan of floral or sugary smells. Overall, the wash really has a great lather to it, but don't use a ton. I was just at a music festival with TONS of dust, my hair was filled with dirt, and usually I have to shampoo twice to get it all out....but not this time! This hair wash got everything out in one go. One complaint I do have is that my scalp has a very, very small amount of build up from these products I think. I might be wrong, so I'm not detracting any points from the hair wash. This bottle will last you a long, long time. A little goes a long way! The price definitely makes it worth it. Go buy this product!
This shampoo is the best smelling shampoo I have ever encountered! This shampoo is a great clarifier. It removed the buildup and a little goes a long way. I was concerned because my hair felt squeaky as I massaged in the product. After rinsing, my hair did not feel stripped at all.
I am not a shampoo girl. It did a good job cleaning my hair. I prepooed. So it did not totally strip my hair so it was good not bad.
I felt that my hair was really clean and moisturized. I liked how this product left my hair so soft. The product has a nice smell.
This shampoo has a great lather, a little goes a long way. My scalp felt clean and my hair surprisingly did not feel stripped. My scalp is not dry so I can not say if it soothes dry scalp, but it does cleanse well and leave the hair with some moisture.
I have to say that I am very impressed with this cleanser. Finding a good shampoo has been one of my biggest struggles as a natural and I'm extremely happy I now have this in my life. I found out that I didn't need to use as much as I would with other shampoos in order to get a good lather. I like to shampoo my hair twice, and usually my hair ends up dry and matted and I feel like I have to detangle all over again. But I didn't with this product. After rinsing, my hair was soft, and not tangled at all. It was very noticeable to me that both my hair and scalp were super clean. I felt that my hair had more bounce to it and my curls very defined. I will definitely use this as my go to shampoo from now on.
This shampoo only requires a drop to create a good soapy lather. I didn't experience a stripped feeling on my hair. It felt clean and soft.
Loved the scent and loved the way my hair felt sleek and soft after using this cleanser! It did not strip my hair at all. My hair is managable and full of body after washing with this and I do not even need to use conditioner to get a comb through afterwards.
I'm normally used to my hair feeling stripped after shampooing, but this left it soft and manageable, paired with the conditioner, I had such an easy time combing and styling my hair after washing.
I liked the smell of this shampoo. It had a fairly good lather and I felt that my hair was cleansed after using it.
Really liked the shampoo because the lather was awesome. I would recommend using a small amount because using too much may dry out the hair. It was a cool product though and I will use it again.
This shampoo did a great job at cleansing my hair. It lathers a lot and it a little goes a long way. My hair and scalp felt extremely clean. However, my hair did feel a little squeaky, but it didn't bother me. It did its job as a nice cleansing shampoo.
Im glad this shampoo is being labeled as a clarifying shampoo as the opacity can deceive you to think its a moisturizing shampoo. This product left my hair and scalp clean and feeling a bit stripped. I like to wash my dirty hair (longer then six to seven days) twice to make sure I get rid of build up and that may have been too much with this shampoo, word to the wise. This product is just okay, the bottle is big but its not worth the price.
Not entirely sure what the previous commenters meant by needed a lot of shampoo to get a good lather, because I do a dollop for my extremely thick hair, and it seems to lather just fine. As with any sulfate-free, low-poo shampoo, you're obviously not going to get the same kind of chemically-induced soap suds party going on in your locks, but this certainly does the job. I love it. I mean, switching from my product that I sold my soul to the devil for so my hair looked good, love it. Granted, I have been using the whole line of Dark and Lovely, so in this review I'll try to gear my thoughts towards just the shampoo, but I have never before found a line of products that lets my hair feel clean, smell amazing, look great, and look great consistently. Normally I have to swat my boyfriend away from touching my hair for the first 4-5 hours after washing my hair, so he doesn't affect my meticulously swirled and twirled curls. This line though, goodness, I just shake my hair off after inserting the product and can either let it air dry, diffuse, or muck it up a little bit, and I have soft, touchable, bouncy curls like little frizzy-headed girls only dreamed about. But back to the shampoo. Like I said, I put a little dollop in my palm and scrub a dub dub my scalp to tips, being gentle but firm. You know, the way that you raise a child, giving it love where it needs it, but making sure to address and correct poorly formed behaviors. My build-up induced dandruff is gone, frizz has peaced out, and my curls and I have never had a better relationship. We hug, we laugh, we cry together. I love this stuff, and if I don't stop this review here, you may well be reading sonnets in your near future.
I used this shampoo the other day I like the smell of it and it does take a while to lather up but it left my hair super clean
I still have my fav shampoo in terms of moisturizing, but what makes me give it a high rating is the fact that it made my hair color stop bleeding. no other shampoo i've tried was able to do that.
I gave this product a 4 because of the wonderful smell! It reminded me of magnolia tree flowers and honeysuckle in the summer! It was kind of citrusy yet green. However, it took a lot of shampoo to get a really good lather...so I definitely had to rinse, lather, and repeat! The conditioner for this line surprisingly lathers more than the shampoo...in a foamy way.
All I can say is when you use the shampoo and conditioner you can instantly see a difference and feel one when you come out the shower and look in the mirror! -Lola (@low_lahh) Hair Growth Diaries Participant
This shampoo is the best sulfate-free shampoo that I've used since I've decided to go natural. It smells good, it has a nice lather to it, it's inexpensive and it leaves your hair feeling so rich. I HIGHLY recommend this product. Tess (@TrulyTes) Hair Growth Diaries Participant
This product does a great job at getting rid of product buildup. A little goes a long way and your hair is left feeling clean and refresh. Racquel fro the Grow Out Diaries
I like the fact that I didn't need to use as much of this shampoo as I do of others to get my hair clean. Definitely a good bang for your buck. -Jasmine (Grow Out Diaries)
This shampoo left my hair and scalp feeling squeaky clean but still hydrated. The scent is lovely and not overbearing like how some shampoos can be. The sulfate-free aspect is what made this product a winner for me. My color-treated hair was still as vibrant after my wash as it was before my wash. Aquayla from The Grow Out Diary.
Okay.... its sulfate free AND gets rid of the gunk. I was co-washing my hair the other day ( with a REALLY fancy and expensive brand) and as I was massaging the co-wash in my head i felt this sticky, goopy substance in my head. I knew it was bad product build up but this FANCY expensive co-wash was not getting it out. Instead of getting mad, I decided to use the tension release hair wash. I worked soooo well to remove build up. It didn't leave my hair dry or stripped. I was very VERY happy with this. Good ingredients. Lathers well. I need to use it more often to see if it helps to stop breakage but so far... Im happy!
