UPDATE: Made one adjustment since I last used the product: hair was dripping wet and had to stay dripping wet until I was done styling. The residue was less, but still there. Miss Jessie's Baby Buttermilk has been on sale as of this post, and is now available at Target and other stores. This product when combined with Miss Jessie's Baby Buttermilk kept my hair soft and defined during the cold, dry months. For me, this means NO BREAKAGE and I can still wear a wash-n-go during the winter. Few products, even when combined with others, can do this. This is why now there are 4 stars.
I have 3b curls. I like this product for wash and go only but your hair has to be soaking wet when you put it on , or else it will clump on your hair. Check for white clumps as you rake it through your hair... another tip, I don't use the diffuser when I use this product unless I want huge Diana Ross curls. Curls come out soft and defined but hair can be a little too big when used with diffuser.
I must say I was very pleased with my curls after using this product. My curls looked best after co washing and using a leave in before applying the Miss Jessie's multicultural curls product. I loved how defined yet voluminous my 3a/3b curls were. However my second day curls were not the best. But definitely a great product for my wash & go.
I am pleasantly surprised by this product. Watching this come out I was thinking, "this is gonna weigh my hair down," but it didn't. I have multi-cultural hair and it did everything the product said it was going to do. I used it as a leave-in while my hair was wet and followed with Curls Cashmere Curl Jelly. I didn't have any residue. The amodimethicone in this product is one of the lighter silicones, but it doesn't seem to have the other ingredients that would make it water-soluble, meaning you can't just co-wash your hair alone if you were to incorporate this into a shampooless regimen.
Was hoping this would be a "winter" styler as it gives a soft hold, defines curls, as well as moisturizes the hair. However, in order for it to work on my hair, I had to do one of two methods: had to make sure my hair was very oily, use Miss Jessie's Baby Buttermilk (only at Sally's), or use Nu-Gro Moisturizing Spray as the leave-in. Otherwise, after my hair was dry, there would be small, white flakes all over and and eventually on my clothes! Tried to use it with other leave-in's, but immediately a white residue would occur. Even if I didn't want to use a leave-in or oils, I had to with this product.
I'm mixed and have been natural for about 5 years. This is the best product I've used ever! It does everything I want in a leave in to do. It does exactly what it says it does. It gives your hair great hold while keeping my hair soft, bouncy, and voluminous.
I love this styling product for my hair! It's not too light and not too heavy for my thin 3a/3b curls. It defines my curls perfectly while leaving them soft, shiny and bouncy. I love the consistency, which is a little slimy and slippery. It has a nice, light scent that lingers. I love this for my hair. I actually got it as a sample that lasted about 3 or 4 days. It didn't weigh down my hair or cause too much buildup.
Much to my surprise, my 3C curls actually liked this styling lotion. It is great when layered with an oil, and is light enough to not leave a weird crunch or residue on my hair. Unlike other Miss Jessie Products, the scent isn't too heavy, either. Which is good.
There are all types of "multi-cultural" hair. This product might work for some multi-cultural hair types and not for other types. It might be a good idea to purchase a 1oz sample package and see if it works for your hair type. The first time I used this product I used way too much and had to rinse it out. Most multi-cultural hair is soft and fine even if it's frizzy or curly. So use a very small amount (pea-size).because you can always use more. The product is very thick and slippery but not greasy which is good. I doubt if I will buy a full size because I didn't find that it worked any better than other products I've used for a lot less money. Depending on how long your hair is (mine is chin length) there should be enough in the sample package for three or four uses.
this made my hair soft and bouncy but i dont like ho heavy it felt however i was heavy handed i got this free sample from their site i have an issue with the name though....
I'm starting to really enjoy the new Miss Jessie's products. This and Pillow Soft Curls are my new staples for summer. I like to add a lot of product to my hair but with this you really don't have to. It's a little expensive but most definitely worth it. I apply this to soaking wet hair after using a leave-in by finger combing it through then scrunching more in (like I said, I like to use a lot of product) and let it air dry. Once dry there isn't a lot of crunch to the hair but it feels very soft and not a lot of frizz as the day goes on. I would highly recommend this to buy at least one bottle but it's perfect for wash and go's. The consistency is creamy and like a buttery color and smells great but not overpowering. Keep it up Miss Jessie's!
I really expected this to flop. Cones make my hair flop. Single products make my hair flop. Well this was great. Wash, condition, leave in and this, diffuse. Super nice, super volume, very soft. I guess I will have to make allowance for this cone. Because this was a big winner on my 2a/2b waves. I may have to add a bit of hold product in certain conditions but it's holding up amazingly well on a pretty warm, humid non-windy day. I'm shocked.
This stuff makes my hair so soft and I absolutely love it! My curls look very natural. I can't live without this stuff, it makes my hair feel amazing!
Love this product. Great consistency. Great hold without being crunch. Gave me nice, defined curls.
The texture of this product reminds me of glue or condensed milk. It spreads pretty evenly. Your hair must be very hydrated before use otherwise it's a mess. Over all: I like the hold it gives, very soft but still controlled. The one thing I dislike is the waxy feel it has. Not sure if that's because a cone is the 3rd or 4th ingredient. I only had a sample and I'm not sure if I would repurchase. 1 thing is for sure: i like it a lot better than quick curls, softer hold and allows for my hair to bounce rather than stand at attention lol.
