I use this product everyday and have yet to find a good competitor. It's a mix between a cream and a gel but doesn't leave my hair at all crunchy. A little goes a long way and if I use it at night and diffuse my hair, I only need to wet it a little the next morning to bring my curls back to life. Great product!

First time use was two days ago. I think I may have used a bit too much after reading other reviews. This product defines and holds my crazy curls very well, adds shine and moisture but is too stiff for my personal preference. The curls were a strange combination of soft and crunchy. I believe that this product would be very useful for taming frizz and holding your curls in place during our extremely humid summers in Florida, but I the trade off is the lack of movement and stiffness of hold. I will continue to use it and tweak the amounts used for a while to see if using a bit less will allow for hold without stiffness. If things get better, I'll post again.

I used this in combination with Redken ringlet 07, so I'm not sure if that had any affect what-so-ever on my results, but I'm pretty sure what happened with my hair was mostly this product. Anyway, it was extremely sticky to put on. It was awkward to add to my hair, but once it dried it was much better. My hair wasn't as soft as with other products, but it wasn't "crunchy" at all. It just had hold to it. I will say it DEFINITELY enhanced my curl. My hair is majorly curly on the bottom, and has somewhat waved out on the top layers through the years. It really helped to bring back a lot of what I've lost. I have to say my hair looks MUCH better than it ever has with other products (without styling or assistance). I'll keep using it and see how I like it over time, but for this time I'd definitely buy it again, and I'd definitely recommend it to help the curl stay curly when dried, and not frizz up.

After nearly 4 months of CG and still good amounts of frizz, i decided id ditch CG and try some cone products- thus i bought this one! I love it! It gets really of nearly all my frizz -even when the weather sucks and leaves my hair nice and shiny. With some of the CG products i loved, the moment wind would blow or the temperature would change a bit i would frizz up. With curlesque though my hair stays looking nearly the same ^.^ I also like that to get this effect you dont need a lot of product. Also many people complain that the new formula is not as good. However, with me I found that the old formula made my head itch uncontrollably, however curlesque doesn't give me these problems. All in all, I definitely recommend this product!

This Product, I will say is really great for controling frizz, a few weeks ago on a very rainy humid night here in NY, I went out after using this product, and my hair looked great all night...despite the awful weather....However, I did have to apply twice, first time I layered with Shea Moisture Curling milk...big mistake...lots and lots of white chunky build up...second time around I only used this and was statisfied..I have learned that using VERY little of this stuff will work, and trust me I have VERY long, thick hair, I have been layering ( using a staple of mine and cheapie too Clear Ice styling gel by ampro) again using very little, for frizz control only and it works well. For me, I think because my curls are pretty well defined with out product it doesnt enhance...more like it controls...found it at my local walmart, after reading a review here...cost me 12 bucks...will get many usages for the price.

I wasn't a huge fan of this. Although my hair was not frizzy, it felt fairly dry and was pretty crunchy. Also, after testing it for a few days, conditioners didn't take well on my hair as if it had build up, yet my hair was dry. I will say though, it goes on with great slip.

3b/3c fine thin hair in humid Hawaii Love this all in one product. Its great for helping lifeless hair curl and also gives hold. I can do a quik wash and go with this product and not have to worry that my hair wont hold all day. This is an awesome product. I think I have stocked up under my sink. If i need extra hold and extra curl on those really humid days I pair it with redken spring mousse. I get awesome all day hair that can be revived with water.

Pros- I absolutely L-O-V-E this stuff, it works sooo great with keeping frizz away, and giving me great hold(: Cons- You have to use just the right amount, too much makes curls super crunchy, but not enough just makes limp frizzy curls(:

I absolutely love this product! I tell all my friends with curly hair to use it. All long as you put it in your hair while it's still pretty wet and don't use too much.

Added nice separated waves without feeling like I had a lot of product in my hair. Really liked it!

I can't believe I'm saying this but... this is the best styler I have ever used for my 3b curls!!! I use this over my Sheamoisture curl enhancing smoothie on wet hair and defuse. I get well defined shiny curls. Also, this is the only product I have used so far that has given me second day hair, Holy Grail Product!!!!

Not the same as the original Curls Rock Curl Amplifier ...they say it's the same but it is not. Original product, TIGI Curls Rock Curl Amplifier...remains my #1 product ever...always go back to it. as do my other curly girl friends.

Awesome product! The definition is absolutely incredible and you only need a small amount, so it lasts a while. It does get ridiculously crunchy, but you can scrunch it out once your hair's dry without an issue. Holds well all day.

This my HG product! I have used HUNDREDS of products and this is the best I've found! This doesn't leave my hair crunchy at all. Maybe i just use less product on my hair.

I have a 3B type curl and this product works so well! Plus the next morning I can just apply a little more serum for shine and frizz control (Paul Mitchell Serum) and some water and voila my hair looks as fantastic as it did the day before!

Hands down one of the worst products I've ever used. I have fairly curly corkscrews and all this product did was turn it into crunchy sticks. It's so bad I have to wash my hair again and start over. I will never, never, never use this again.

I really like this as a styler. My only concern is all the silicones, I do feel as though it could build up rather quickly. I keep it for special occasions because I cannot deny how beautifully it defines my curls. Love it. Plus, a little goes a VERY long way.

Wow, this works on my hair. Give great hold and i prefer a little crunch so love it. especially the new formulae in the curlesque bottle. love it.

I just LOVE this product, but I mix it with equal parts of Curl Keeper. Mixed together it is wonderful... it keeps my 3b curls soft, shiny and defined. Try them together, trust me Im a curly Hair stylist and I have tryed so many products and with living in a high humidity state I need my hair to hold up. Even next day curls are great, all I need to do is spray it with a little water and my curls are great. The most important thing is not to touch your hair till its 100% dry so it sets than when it totaly dry I can scrunch it and it look fantastic. :)

This is probably my most favorite product ever. I have 3c hair and have always used a curl cream and gel to style my hair until the first time I went to my then new stylist. I only use this one product to style my hair now. It's amazing, I highly recommend it.

I have used this stuff since I stopped straightening my hair and love it. I only need a tiny amount for my long 2-something hair. Its quite thick so sometimes I dilute with another product like a leave-in conditioner. It holds my curl well in summer, but not in winter, which is why I have only put 4 as a curl rating. Also, its full of 'cones' so I won't be able to use when I go CG.

When my hairstylist used this on me, i didn't see huge difference but it did help with some frizz and held my curls for awhile.

3a curls. I wasn't sold on this the first time I tried it. Now I love this product. I first use the catwalk conditioner, as a leave in on sopping wet hair, then add a "pea" size amount of amplifier. I rub my hands together to get both hands coated, sometimes add a little water then scrunch through my hair. Then plop in a t-shirt, then diffuse dry. I have rockin' curls with this combo. I know has silicone, but wow why change what works??

One of those Holy Grail products I always like to have around. Great, well defined curls, even on the most humid of days!

This is a great product for those funky curls. Make sure not to overload product and use on towel dried hair.(too much water will dilute the product)

I'm pretty darn happy w/this product - I have short hair w/long layers that needs to be weighed down, and this does the trick! I mix a blob of this with a dab of Kiehl's Silk Groom and skip the conditioner in the shower. Adds texture to my curls and resists frizz. It's definitely a keeper and the price is right, too!

I have used this product for about 2 yrs now. Overall its a good product, I like the manageability of my hair, it doesn't dry it up. The only downside... FLAKES!!

I love this product, I find it works better than the Foxy Curls Contour Cream cause it doesn't leave it as crunchy. This one works very well with frizz and it doesn't look like you have a lot of product, very natural actually, accentuates very well. I have wavy/curly hair, and it works well for me.

I love this stuff! Great hold, defined curls, smells great, and you don't need a lot! I have very thick 3a curls, so if you have thinner hair it might weigh it down.

LOVE THIS PRODUCT! You only need to use about a dime size...to much will cause flaking but if you apply to much you only need to spray hair with water and rinse some out. I have not found a product that can compare to this..I cant live without..

This is by far one of the best products i've used on my 3A hair. I'm on my 8th bottle or something! Just make sure you know a little goes a long way because if you use to much it'll leave you crunchy!

I've been trying many many curly hair products for some time now..and I think I've finally nailed it with this one. Love it! I have 3b hair and so far its given me my curls shape again...a little definition yet soft. You don't have to put too much of it in your hair and you don't need to mix it with another product. It's best on its own.

This product is great! Leaves my(3b)curls well-defined and frizz free. I've been using for about 3 years-by far the best I've tried. Well worth the price. A little goes a long way.

I think this does/gives everything it should; clumping, shine, softness & hold without much crunch, however, the scent is not to my liking & the price is a bit much for the size.

I used to be a product junkie...always trying to find that magic potion that would give me defined, manageable curls. Until I used the Curl Amplifier, I didn't realize how great my hair could look! I'm 3a/3b and I am completely hooked on the stuff. For a while, I didn't want to even tell my other curly-haired friends about this product because I wanted to have the best hair! Other reviewers complain about the build-up, however, I've used this stuff for over a year and I haven't experienced any problems.

Love this on my 3b hair. Great curl definition and the crunch scrunches out for soft, bouncy curls. Am stocking up on it now because I fear Foxy Curls will replace it.

I love this product!! my hairstylist used it on my 3a hair, and It turned out amazing! A little crunchy, but amazing! And the smell is heavenly :)

Just like all the reviews you read, we have all tried every combo you can possibly imagine. This is the ONLY thing I use now. I use three pumps, runs the palms of my hands over my hair and I'm out the door. At the end of the day, just add a little water to refresh your curls. Works great even with the Texas humidity.

I have been using this product for a while now. I have found that I can't use it alone, but used underneath Biolage Gelee it works well. I use 2 pumps for my thick, layered hair.

I use this in combination with the leave-in moisturizer and it's great stuff! My 3A/B hair really responds to this. My curls are very defined, no frizz (I try my hardest not to touch my hair at all which helps) and my hair never feels weighed down. The best tip I have heard is to add water to the product and then rub your hands together and apply it to your hair. It's so true! Water helps tremendously and can give you more or less curl control depending on the ever-changing weather. I don't have any issue with product build-up, I use a gentle poo-less shampoo 3x a week.

This works great on my hair (3b) and I've used it for about 2 years now. You do have to find the perfect amount for your hair so not to have buildup. I couldn't live without it!!

I am on my third bottle of this product. It surely does what it says it does. I get great hold and definition after using this product and blow drying my hair with a diffuser. I scrunch my hair inbetween to get more curl volume. It does leave my hair a little stiff but I just run my hand over my head with a little water. Voila!I have shiny defined curls.

This product gave my curls great definition! My hair is dark and very fine,but it adds a lot of badly needed volume whilst reducing frizz. I use it witht he curl booster, and wet my hands before I use it. I let it dry naturally and then run my fingers through it. It gives great shine too! and smells gorgeous!

I rarely repurchase any product, as I am always searching for something better, but this has been in my rotation regularly for about 2 years now. I like that it gives great curl definition w/out weighing my 2b/3a hair down. It smells great (tropical) and mixes well w/ most products. Less is better w/ this puppie:For my thick long hair I use 3/4 a pump under my gel of choice. Unfortunately this is full of cones, and once I run out I will have to wave goodbye to my lil friend, as I am going to start the modified CG routine.

I LOVE this product. It works wonderfully on my very thick, very layered, long hair. About one pump is good enough for me to rake through all my hair. My hair is completely frizz-free and very nice definition, although not as good definition as Jessicurl . And since it is on the expensive side, I can still use cheap shampoo like Finesse or Suave and it still works great on my hair, without ever drying it out or causing buildup. It also smells great!

this cream is awesome for curl definition, but definitely needs to be thinned out with water in your palms before applying it to hair

I used to always wish I could find a product that made curls look as defined when they dried as they did when they were wet. I found it in this product! It's a pretty heavy cream and my hair loves it. Amplifier leaves my curls well defined and pretty soft too (maybe just a little crunch). No frizz. As a bonus, if I re-wet my hair the next day and either re-work it through my hair or scrunch, my curls look the same as the first day. I don't find any problems washing it out using a CO wash. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product!

You will get a lot of flaking with too much product (very obvious on my dark brown hair) but has excellent control and helps add definition to curls in Souther California (read: no humidity). Will build up and is tough to wash out on a no-poo system.

This product was highly recommended by the salesperson as the best and most popular product for curls. It was absolutely useless - worse than useless in fact. It made my hair crunchy and dry, and it turned into white flakes whenever I moved and touched my hair. It made my hair drier than normal... and guess what? it was expensive too. Doesn't matter how much or how little you use (I tried all different amounts), this product is a waste of space.

I like this product for several reasons, but also had to stop using it. The good: provides excellent control and smoothing to coarser curls, smells great, good for reducing frizz on already dry hair. The bad: over time this can dry hair out, and can be too crunchy. The problem with it gunking up, or in my experience congealing into white chunks, is not because it is too old but because you can't use it with certain products (I think in general it doesn't go well with silicone based or smoothing products due to the curl enhancing ingredients.)

I really like the smell of this stuff, and it does eliminate my frizzies- but it is really thick and you have to really wash it out. However, I tried using a bottle from about a year ago (I forgot I had some left) and it must expire or something because the consistency was all wrong. It chunked up in my hands and so I didn't put it in my hair. That's my gripe. It goes bad.

Want variety? TRY THIS!. This product will leave hair with what could be considered a thin texture, that is, it will not build thick curls. It enhances curls but not into springy spirals. I like it to give a different look to my hair. It survives humidity and will not dry out the hair. It CONTROLS!. They told me to apply a small amount but I insisted in applying by sections and it worked better. It is fun. Try it.

I really like this products. Two pumps completely control my mid-back length hair. It doesn't "enhance" curl, but it keeps frizz under control, adds shine, and smells great. It has a very slippery, conditioning texture when applying. Not great for CO girls...you need to wash every now and then when using this b/c it can build-up.

I love this stuff!! I use it with the curl booster and it's the best thing since sliced bread. My hair is very thick and frizzy and it absorbs most products, but not this one. This is what I've been looking for.It's great!!

This is the only thing to use in the winter once the frizzies set in. You get great definition, and as long as you don't use too much (less than one pump for my chin-length hair) it doesn't get crunchy. Very heavy stuff - hard to wash off your hands. You can water it down with something light also. In the summer I use about 1 part of this to 3 parts of Devacurl Angell.

For my 3B hair, I got the most curl enhancement and body of any product I've ever used. Except... my hair was also very crunchy and coated. I think I read on the board that some girls minimized the crunch by layering products, but I haven't figured out a combo that works for me.
