This is the worst gel ever for me. It does not penetrate my hair enough to define my curls. It did dry fast however it made my hair stringy. This gel does not even slick down my edges. No bueno...and I will not repurchase.
I do not use products with silicones and sulfates. I use this on wet hair to get various styles. The more wet my hair before I diffuse the tighter and more clumped the curls. I can easily scrunch out the crunch once my hair is fully dry. It holds all day. I have been using it for two years now. I will never use a different loose holding gel.
I used this pre-CG and liked it a lot. Now that I'm CG, I need a little more hold than this provides. I think it is a great option for fine haired curlies because it contains protein, is very lightweight, and promotes volume. For the price it's worth a try.
Ive been usin this stuff for over a year n i love it. But my hair is not like any of the ones in the options. ((so i picked the one closest)) it always gets them lil frizzies down and it smells great
Nice soft hold, especially over some good leave-in (I used giovanni with this). Inexpensive and CG friendly. No crunch at all! Maybe not perfect for winter in Oregon, but am looking forward to trying it on my 3a curls come summer.
This stuff's so bad for my hair I'm throwing it out after one use! It completely dried out my fine 3c hair and left it allover frizzy. Ugh!
This was my absolute HG when layered over the Dual Gel+Water! Since they discontinued the DG+W, I only use the TNF occasionally. It's okay on it's own so I'm rating it a 3. But with the DG+W, it was a 4 for me.
It did absolutely nothing to better define my curls, and it made my curls crunchy. Didn't like it at all, and definitely will never buy again!
This is hands down the best drugstore gel that I've found. I've had really great results with this... good hold and frizz control, with minimum crunchiness that can be worked out with the fingers very easily. It has a nice light, sweet smell, and doesn't leave any build-up. When I don't have any expensive product that I'm trying out, I tend to stick with this gel.
liquidy, gelatinous consistency that foams upon distribution and really distributes well. Clumps my curls nicely on application. I noticed a bit of frizz in curl sections while hair was still wet. Once my hair dried, I scrunched out the crunch and was left with very soft, fluffy, bouncy hair. This gel doesn't have a ton of hold, but enough to keep your hair from doing its own thing too much. All in all, an excellent product for days when you want just enough hold to keep your hair from frizzing like wild, but still want to maintain a soft, very natural look. The gel has a very strong grape bubblegum smell that lasted on my hair ALL day. Definitely smells nice (though this is a personal preference), but I could see annoyance/headache resulting.
Smells good. It is completely clear. It holds okay. In high humidity, I have to apply a little more with water as the day goes by. Reasonably priced at about $3. I would buy it again, but it's not my favorite.
rotten product for my very fine, shoulder lenght 2a/3a waves. Left me with absolutely no definition and a pile of frizzy tangles. Perhaps not enough hold for me.
