I have thick, dense wavy hair that is prone to frizz. I have had mixed results with this product. Since it has light hold, I have to put several pumps in my hair. I also put a few pumps of Aveda Be Curly Style Prep before this one to add more hold and frizz-control. On some days, my hair with this product looked softly defined and frizz-controlled. On more humid days, my hair looked awful - like a huge bushy mess. Even though I like the softness, I think that it just doesn't have enough hold for my hair type.

I love this foaming product. I have long 3a hair with a touch of 3b and I start off with aveda's new be curly style prep (only 1 1/2 pumps) followed by only 1 1/2 pumps of this phomollient (be warned- the directions suggest 3-5 pumps which I find too product-y). Then I had a dime size of the be curly curl enhancer and diffuse. Viola- full and soft curls that are defined but not clumpy. I also use this on day two over dry hair- just a pump and distribute from roots to ends and diffuse with a tiny bit of water added. Fab!

This product gave my fine waves a natural hold, meaning it was light. Waves are lightly defined and curls not encouraged. It's good when you want a more beachy look. Can't say it really added body like it's supposed to. And, I have to use more than the suggested 3-4 pumps. Maybe I need to combine with other products the way other reviewers do to encourage the body.

I really wanted to like this product, but it felt like nothing was in my hair. It did nothing for me. Luckily it was from Aveda so I returned it and got my money back.

I love this as a companion to Aveda's Curl Enhancer. It gives me awesome volume, which for my 3a/b fine curls is great, HOWEVER....as much as I love it, it dries my hair so much and after a few days of using, my ends feel slightly like straw. I dont get the silky, soft feeling I would like. I gave it 4 curls, because it pairs so well with the curl enhancer, and I have used it to blow out straight too, BUT, it still does not have shine or softness. Also, my scalp gets dry and itches a bit after a few days use...I have noticed this with a few of Aveda's other products as well...poos and conditioners. It may just be my system is allergic to something they use in their product. I do love the volume factor alot and I have not found a product that offers the volume of this without silicones etc. It gives great hold, as it holds my curls all day with curl enhancer also. My curls are ringlet, but not frizzy and bouncy but not wet or crunchy!

I am loving this product paired with the Be Curly curl enhancer. Simply fabulous and you don't need much of either.
