I am a 2b/2c (in Deva land I am an S Wave with some corkscrew curls in the back) - heck I have a little bit of everything going on, likely because I have grey coming in. Top of my hair is flatter wavier, sides and back curly. So that means I strike a delicate balance between enough moisture on the sides/back and not too much on top, or it will lay flat. I have been using this shampoo for about 8 weeks, and really like it. Some information points: -> I have my hair colored, and I think it does a very good job of preserving color. -> I follow the Deva Curly Girl handbook in terms of how to use the shampoo - I wash every day (I can't seem to get the 2 day washing to work, that everyone else can - makes me look like a muppet, even though I don't have greasy hair), but I use a SMALL amount, about the size of a quarter. I apply it to the pads of my fingers, and work it through my scalp. Then I scrunch a bit all over, and rinse it out by cupping my hands. -> I does not seem to be overydrying when I do it that way, and I wash every day A bottle of this stuff used as I do, will last forever. I am only a 1/4 of the way through the first bottle I bought, and it has been 8 weeks. Meanwhile the One conditioner I blow through pretty quickly. I recommend this - I like the scent (It seems to smell like St. Joseph's children's aspirin - if you can remember that smell). Citrusy. Works well. Sticking with it.

If I wash my hair with nothing but water for 2 days, this gives me just the clean I need to cure me from feeling cheap & greasier than Rob Schneider. However I can't use this everyday as it gives me 90's power-mom fluff hair. Which is a sweet suggestion but I'm not really ready for that kindof commitment, barely in my 20's, and time travel doesn't exist just yet.

This is the best shampoo I've used so far. It leaves my hair feeling moisturized and soft, I've never once felt stripped of any oils or moisture. It really get's my hair clean, and although it took some adjustment to really not experience much lather, I really really like this product. It's fantastic! Smell's wonderful too!

My hair is super healthy and I have an oily scalp. I really like this product because it is one of the few that cleanses the oil off my scalp, and yet doesn't strip my hair. This product is STILL one of my staples and I use it often. In the summer, I don't use a conditioner afterward, just a leave-in. My hair is fine, super soft and slick, so I get OC'd very easy.

I’m terribly disappointed with DevaCurl. I spent so much time researching products and was looking forward to hopefully finding the right one….NOT so! I have 3c/4a type hair and this shampoo made my hair feel so dry and very straw like, I was baffled. I’ve only used it once and terrified to try it again. Prior to DevaCurl I used Surface Vegan Hair Products and Mixed Chicks…on to something different now. I hope I can get a refund.

I had serious build up, from using a Pureology Shampoo(for anyone else considering, Pureology is not vegan, and is only sulfate free..silicones and parabens are still in the ingredients) Anyways, due to the silicones in Pureology my build up got so bad my scalp was always over conditioned, and heavy. My hair stylist used Deva Low Poo just one time, and the build up that had been there for months, was almost gone... With further use, the build IS gone. I can say this, it is not drying or stripping...and I have extremely dry hair. It leaves the perfect balance of moisture without weighing hair down. I am giving three curls because of the parabens and amodemithcone left in the shampoo..but so far I have had no issues. The price, in my opinion, is average for curlmart's products and worth the pricetag for what it has to offer.

Love it! Moisture cleansing... Nice. For me it lathers up a lot! Not sure why, but I still like the way my hair feels with it. No tangles, no stripped moisture.

I love this in combination with the DC One condition. I've been using it for about 6 months now (along with a deep condition 1-2/month). My hair doesn't feel super soft after using it, but it does look/feel hydrated and healthy. I use re:coil after washing/conditioning and I hardly ever experience frizz (I think the only case of frizz I had was when I was on the beach). I also love that my hair requires such a small amount of this product, which means the big bottle I bought of it will last me for a long time and I feel like I'm really getting my money's worth. Although since it doesn't lather, I sometimes use a bit more than what I really need. I think I'll switch to No-Poo, though, once my Low-Poo runs out.

I can't believe how much I hated this product. After years of using Jessicurl HCC I decided to give Devacurl a try. I never should have. Low-Poo dried my hair out as much as the harshest clarifying shampoo. I can't believe how popular Devacurl products are when so many curlies find them to be so drying. Ah the power of marketing!

Smells heavenly. I like to mix this with ACV to clean my scalp and get rid of residue. Even got my mom who isn't natural hooked on this product. Feels almost silky when applied and doesn't strip hair.

It's not terrible, but sometimes it left my hair feeling a little weird. However, that could have been because I was using WAY too much of the product. I tried again two days ago and had no problems. So, now that I've cut down on how much to apply time will tell if this is a shampoo I will continue to use or not.

My hair has never looked better... but it wasn't without struggle. My scalp took awhile to adjust to the new low-poo. I use the low-poo, conditioner, and gel. My scalp was really itchy off and on for the first month. I did a brown sugar scrub twice and it really helped. It is worth it to get past the first few weeks. My hair looks fantastic. My hair is in such great shape! I got my haircut in May by a Deva specialist and don't need another cut anytime soon. My ends are great.

I really like this product. It didn't leave my hair feeling stripped. My only barrier to giving it 5 curls is the fact that I feel that it is a bit expensive!

Its great for the scalp, a little drying for the hair, so put some One Condition on your hair to protect it, and keep this stuff on the scalp only. If I don't condition before using it, I'll follow with a deep treatment. I wish there was a product that was somewhere between Low Poo and No Poo.

Once I stopped expecting the handfuls of lather that result from typical "detergent" shampoos, I realized that this product was not only cleaning my curls, but leaving them soft and nicely tamed. I am new to Devacurl, but I'm quickly developing a loyalty!

This was too mild for me. I could get away using it now and then but more than a couple of weeks and my hair got really greasy feeling even if I left it in to work on the oils for well over 5 minutes and massaged my scalp like crazy. Well worth a try for people with a dry scalp and hair. Smells heavenly.

For me, this was as potent as a a sulfate-containing shampoo but didn't lather as much. My curls were really tangly after using.

This is the grossest shampoo I have ever used. I understand the concept about this line and did some research regarding it, so I knew what to expect. Even the guy I was dating asked me if I had taken a shower in 2 days because my hair looked so greasy. I really thought I had discovered something new, but atlas it has just joined my other hair care product graveyard under my sink. I did buy the conditioner and gel as well. It is OK, nothing special.

This product has a nice feel. It really busts up the excess oil on the scalp w/o stripping, especially for those doing CG. My scalp is oily anyway and being on CG sometimes it's just too much, and this doesn't strip away everything. It's a nice consistency and the scent isn't overpowering. It has a tiny bit of lather which is nice too.

This product actually cotains a mild cleansing agent (cocamidopropyl betaine) and is basically on par with Jessicurl's Hair Cleansing Cream. It will definitely cleanse your hair of at least some mild "gunk". It has a wonderful, delicious scent (just like the Angell). For true CG'ers, I would recommend that you coat the length of your hair with conditioner and then use this on your scalp and let the suds 'rinse' down the length of your hair.

I like this, and it works well. Unfortunately, you have to use A LOT to get it through your hair and it's so thin it's hard to work with. And don't expect lather.

Cleans well and works quite nicely as a gentle shampoo, but is somewhat difficult to distribute through the hair and over the scalp since it is somewhat thick and has such a small amount of lather.
