I honestly love this conditioner. I love the smell, although a lot of people don't, it's a refreshing minty scent. I've been using it for about six months now, along with No Poo Cleanser, and my hair has never looked better. My hair has definition and feels lightweight, and I don't have to use any other products, although sometimes I use Hair Dew to help with frizz on humid days. I definitely would recommend this if you have Type 2 hair.
Using with the low poo or no poo caused DANDRUFF and an ITCHY SCALP. Using conditioner only and rinsing out wouldn't keep my hair curly all day. IF YOU HAVE A HARD TIME WITH DEVACURL, DILUTE IT AND USE AS A LEAVE IN! I don't have a shower so I'll just get up in the morning, rinse my hair and scrub my scalp with my fingers, turn off the water and then just coat my hair in the diluted conditioner. NOTHING has worked better. Still a little frizzy though, but you can't beat the easy routine.
Another thing to add to my review is if you want a product that way better than this get EO Essentials shampoo and conditioner it's a lot cheaper and has better ingredients it's 20$ for 32 fl oz on Amazon or a cheaper shampoo and conditioner is Natures Gate Herbal Daily which is 8.99 for 32fl oz on abesmarket.com you coul get way better stuff then deva curl for cheaper !
This product works good it's really creamy, it's got great ingredients but because of the price I wont be buying it again. It doesn't smell good either all the Deva Curl Product smell the same.
Like the way it made my hair feel and how it enhance my curls. I just don't like that propylene Glycol is in it.
Doesn't help with clumping or frizz control. Used this line including the No-Poo and One Condition and followed directions to a T including the CG handbook and it's still awful stuff. I have 2b/2c thick Asian/Caucasian hair and it just leaves my hair frizzy, dry, and no curl formation. Why pay so much for this when I can get better stuff for way cheaper? I spent over $100 on the starter kit with the big 1 liters. NEVER again will I waste so much money on a recommendation, even if it did come from my stylist. At best this stuff can be used a couple times a week as a co-wash but even then I'm dealing with crazy frizz from it.
I had been searching for a product that didn't weigh my hair down, dry it out, cause more breakage, or cost too much. I found that One Condition solves all of those problems for me. I use it for almost all of my conditioning needs. As a pre-poo, as a leave in, mix it with water for a quick curl refreshing spray or with mixed with avocado and olive oil for a deep condition. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for some control over their curls. For me it is cost effective, though I do use at least one bottle every month. $20 a month is worth it for my now healthy, bouncy, happy curls!
I love this stuff! It smells good but it is not overpowering or too flowery/fruity. I am allergic to a ton of stuff but this has never caused a bad reaction for me. It moisturizes my hair very well for everyday. I do still have to deep condition once a week. I use a lot of this for rinse out and a little as a leave in. It reduces frizz when combined with other product and doesn't weigh down my wavy hair.
This is the one product I can't live without. Conditioner, cleanser, styling aid... It does it all. I have been using it exclusively for 9 years. One of the best decisions I've ever made. I can't recommend it enough.
I tried this after getting my first deva cut when I first went CG. It has been a great conditioner for me and works wonders. I would recommend it to anyone who is just starting out CG. It is a mainstay product that can be used in a lot of ways. I've used it as a rinse out and leave in and also mixed it with water in a spray bottle as a 2nd day curl refresher. I don't have to use a lot to get results which is a plus. I can't give it a full five stars though because the price is really steep and the scent is too strong for me.
I love Deva Curl! The smell is great and it keeps my hair pretty conditioned (only downfall is that I have to use a lot of product on my hair). The price is a bit much for anyone on a budget - that's why I am venturing out and trying new products - but I feel that the quality is superb.
What I like the most about the product is that it works for all the hair types in my family, 3's and 4's and it's abilities as a regular conditioner and leave in.The smell is super light and the results have been consistent. It has become one of my summer go to's for wash and go's and quick summer get aways! Also used it as a conditioner prior to a day in the pool. It kept my hair soft and conditioned. Love it so far for my summer time routine.
I love this product! After previously using a conditioner that left my hair crunchy and clumpy it was a miracle when I started using this conditioner. I use a very small amount and it is enough to leave my whole head smooth and detangled.
My hair feels super soft after I use this! It also gives me great curls! However, at the scalp level, my hair gets super greasy using this. I cannot use it as a cowash. After using it for about 2 or 3 days in a row, my hair feels very dull and has a lot of buildup.
This is, by far, my favorite conditioner. I use it every day (except for when I deep condition with heat). Holy grail product. Devachan and Devacurl products changed my (hair) life for the better!!! Love it!
For me this is one of the greatest products ever created. It makes my hair soft, detangled, and bouncy. I LOVE the scent...lemon-lime...it's so refreshing. This is also an excellent leave-in that really helps keep gels from crunching. My 32 oz. bottles last for months.
I've tried it 3 times with NoPoo, B'Leave In and ArcAngel. When I rinsed out the DCOC, my 3b/3c hair was super soft and really fuzzy/frizzy, and I normally don't have a frizz problem. So, I used DCOC as a leave in (using a LOT of product) and that was the ticket for me. My hair was still soft, but the frizz went away. And, the combination gave my hair great definition. Other products that work well with my hair are KCKT/KCCC and Ouidad's Deep Treatment, so maybe it's just me, but I need a lot of heavy conditioning for my hair.
uh i don't know this made my hair feel really weird? like tangly maybe? i only used it twice .
I love this conditioner! I went to a local salon that uses the Deva method but since I have 4a/b hair I didn't have high expectations. I left and my hair had never looked curlier! I decided to start using this conditioner still with low expectations since we all know that things that work at the hairdresser are not always easy to replicate at home. But after a couple of weeks of using it I have seen a huge change in my hair: more moisturized, and curlier than ever. So it's not just a one-time fix, but it actually changes your hair in the long-run. Only downsides that tempted me to rate it a 4 are the smell (not fruity or fun like some other conditioners I've tried), the slightly greasy feeling it leaves on your skin if you use it while you're showering, and the slightly expensive price (I use a lot of conditioner and the $16 bottle only lasts me a few weeks). But because of the good it's done for my hair I couldn't help but give it a 5!
I tried this when I first big chopped when I had an inch of hair. This conditioner left my hair dry as hay. Will never buy again
this conditioner left my hair frizzy and not hydrated, i paired it up with the no poo and still did not get good results. a total waste of money.
PERFECT for the 2A/2B/2C curl types. Love the scent, has good slip but is not thick and does not weigh my curls down. I always apply, rack my fingers thru my hair to get rid of loose hairs and undo any knots, scrunch and leave it in for 5 min or so just so my hair gets a good "drink" everyday, and then I rinse it out about 90-95% and follow with my other styling products.
Love this conditioner! The smell is fresh and citrusy, very light and does not stick around. The consistency is somewhere in-between really runny and thick, so its perfect for cowashing or rinse out. Although due to the price I typically use it to moisturize and not so much as a cowash. I use it as a leave in too and it works really well for that. This was one of the first products geared towards curly hair and CG method approved that I tried, and I've been hooked. Despite trying many other products I always come back to this one.
It was nice and if it was 7 dollars I would definitely purchase again however the Ouidad no more Knots was a lot better for stick buy most of its claims .
Very meh. Not that impressive for the price. I find it to be no different from any other conditioner.
Love this!!! I love how soft the made my hair feel. After my deva cut, my hair transformed before my eyes. Love it. Will definitely reuse.
I've only used this twice, but so far I'm not impressed at all. I have long, thick 3b curls. My hair doesn't feel moisturized at all after I use it and is getting more dry with each use. I'm not going to subject my hair to a third try with this conditioner. After combining this with the DevaCurl Heaven in Hair treatment last night my hair is like straw. I'm returning all of the DevaCurl products I bought for a full refund.
This product is amazing! Using only DEVA for 30 days will transform your curls! They will be more defined and controlled..Getting a Deva cut really helps as well. If you live anywhere near Central Florida, please call us to get you started on the Deva system and cut! Salon Ciseaux 407-865-5881
I am still loving my Mop Top Daily Conditioner. I don't see how this is any better, in fact I would say since it is cheaper that is just more watered down. I found the consistency to be more watery than the thick conditioner by Mop Top. Because it is more runny, it doesn't stay in my hair and moisturize it while I shower. I had more tangles and more dry feeling to my curls after using Devacurl One Condition. It is fine as a just a mediocre conditioner, but the Mop Top Daily Conditioner is infinitely better. I guess you get what you pay for.
I loved this conditioner. From the first time I used it on my hair, I could tell the difference immediately after I began styling my hair. My hair is so dry, that usually product just disappears quickly, but the deva curl one condition, left my hair SOOOO soft!!! I couldn't believe it was my hair that was so soft and manageable. I thought for the price it should be good, and it did not disappoint.
This conditioner works really well for my 3C curls! I remember when I first used it, I was disappointed that it didn't de-tangle the way the Pantene/Tresemme/etc. brands do, but once I learned that a more thorough finger de-tangling was all that was needed, I became much happier with the product. I've used this and the Deva NoPoo for a couple years now and my hair is so healthy, shiny, and moisturized (and I don't use a leave-in). Other curly girls compliment me on my curls and I always tell them to give the Deva regime a try. I'm giving the product 4 stars instead of 5 because of the smell -- it's not off-putting, but it's not good. Of all the Deva products I've tried, only one (the mousse) has a nice smell.
This is my favorite conditioner. It smells awesome and works great. Good slip and it makes my hair soft. The only downside is that sometimes, depending on the weather, it makes my hair frizzier than usual or if I just use it on it's own my hair becomes frizzy as well. That's why I could only give it 4 curls instead of 5. I would love to repurchase if not for the price. (Yes to Carrots is a cheaper alternative.)
I love this conditioner the smell and how it leaves my curly hair loves it! And I will continue to purchase it!
I am loving this conditioner. It smells good and is moisturizing. I gave it four stars for the price. It is kind of high, however, it seems competitive with higher end brands. I used 20% off deal and 5 dollar shipping. so I saved a few bucks.. I still have to use a leave-in knot today. My hair is very thick and 3a-3b curls and pourous. I would recommend. It is not as heavy as other conditioners If you are not using a leave-in.
This is the perfect conditioner for curly hair. I won't use anything else. Love, love, love it!
I LOVE DCOC as a deep conditioner; it is only so-so for a regular/daily conditioner b/c the slip/detangling is only average. WHen I DC I get supersoft, hydrated curls that pop! The only problem with the product is that it doesn't have enough oil--just a small amount of olive oil, which in my opinion, doesn't warrant the high price point. I add a little oil to the product which makes it complete. ***What is great about this formula is that it has a TON of humectants in it*** That's what we want in a DC,folks. Aloe vera is high on the ingredients list +bhentrimonium chloride, and 3 others. My routine: After washing hair, add DCOC mixed with your favorite oil. Twist hair into big twists (3c+) Wrap a super hot water soaked tee shirt around your head, and cover the wrap with a plastic shower cap. Sit under hooded dryer for 20-25 minutes. Rinse out and follow with moisturizer, immediately. This routine works WONDERS on my hair. Rehydrates like a dream. Yes, some of the success is due to the steam treatment itself, but I get better results with DCOC than the other conditioners I use, b/c all of the humectants grab the water from the steam and lock it into my hair.
My hair was so damaged by other products and this truly brought my curls back to life. Pricey, but you get what you pay for.
This did not sufficiently condition my hair at all, and did not keep the silicone of the gel out of my hair. The stylist maybe should've applied leave-in before the gel. Anyway, this, coupled with a Deva gel, about 20 minutes under a hood dryer, then only a dime size amount of leave-in left my hair drier than the Sahara Desert!
this stuff is GREAT i have to say it hurt my pocket to purchase it butttt its soooo worth it it detangles, leaves your hair smooth, it doesnt leave that conditioned feeling. makes your hair feel BRAND NEW.
Love this stuff!! Followed the Curly Girl Handbook and used this as it says and its been working great!! I havent felt this great about my curly hair in a while!! For people with bad experiences i would recommend reading the book and following it, Best way i find is to apply about a quarter size amount to each side of my hair then finger detangle it, rinse it out, then apply another small amount all over then lightly let the water hit for 3 sec and thats it, your hair should feel like seaweed and be tangle free i then use my devacare arc angel gel and air dry.
I have to say that I TRULY did not want to like this product. That is simply not the case! I love this stuff!! It coats my hair easily, has great slip, rinses clean and quickly. It doesn't leave my body feeling slimey when I rinse. I HATE a conditioner that leaves me feeling slimey! LOL I'm not crazy about the scent, but it dissapears quickly so I can't complain that much about it. I don't like how pricey it is, I was hoping to have a cheapo daily conditioner because my leave-in and hair oil are higher end, but I have yet to find a cheapo conditioner that works as well as this one. I'll just have to try to catch this one on sale with the $5 shipping deal. Will buy again and highly reccomend this product!
This conditioner does just what it says. I have been a CG all my life and have fought it. I have been doing the CG method for about three weeks and am loving it. I didn't know I had such great curls. I got the book and watched the videos and had to do some tweaking, but I love the new me. I bought the three step system and this conditioner is great for my soft, easily dispersed cherub curls. I can't leave it in, though, like it says to do on the video. I put it my hair after rinsing out the no-poo, then wash the rest of me, and then rinse out most of the conditioner. Even then my hair is super soft and bouncy. I add the gel, scrunch with a t-shirt, let it air dry, then scrunch again, and voila! I look like a lalaloopsy doll! Well, not really, but I have the curls!
I tired the DevaCurl 3 step system and so wanted to love this....It made my curls more defined but WOW did it ever make my hair frizzy where frizz had not been an issue before. I followed their instructions on usage and watched the videos but still lots of frizzz......I contacted their customer service and it took them WEEKS to get back to me with a question about what type of curl I had, and now it's been a MONTH with no response whatsoever...Very poor customer service and very frustrating.....
Good slip, great conditioning, but will not repurchase due to the smell. It smells like sunscreen. I use this ONLY when I'm going to the beach or pool as a pre-swim condish. I may purchase the devaCARE one c, since I like the scents much better in that line. Would give a 5 for quality, but the smell really takes it down 2 points for me. And it lingers AAAAALLLL day.
this smells good and is creamy but does not provide me with enough slip and moisture. It also makes my hair tangle. too expensive!
Left my curls crunchy and very dull no shine at all. Does not have a good slip and the smell is a bit weird for me. wont purchase again not to mention its over priced. No no for me.
I never knew a conditioner could be this bad. I mean it does nothing for me at all except make my hair smell like a deva product. I think cheapie drugstore conditioners are great compared to this. None of the deva products wow me, maybe my hair just has issues? However, I would choose it over shampoo.
Really wished I'd bought a smaller bottle. I like it ok in a rotation with other conditioners. I'm really annoyed the pump didn't work and broke before I even used it. I had high hopes and I love the smell. I don't think my hair is crazy about glycerin. I will use it up and not repurchase try a trial bottle first!
I have eczema on my hand, food allergies to nuts but am still able to use this product. One of the only conditioners I have found I can use. For Shampoo I use Kinky Curly Come Clean
One of the best conditioners I have ever used! It makes my hair soft, shiny, and defined when I use it. I will definitely repurchase.
I was really excited to try this because I've heard so much about it! But it just wasn't a good fit for my 2c curls, the creamy texture was too heavy for me.
I love how this conditioner defines my hair it smells so yummy! The only reason I won't give it 5 is because it leaves my hair a little frizzy. So now I use KMS curl up conditioner and one condition and it works very well!!
This is the best conditioner I have ever used on my hair. Although a bit pricey, it is worth every penny. I have tried many hair products over the years and this is one of the few products I buy consistently. It is gentle, moisturizing, and smells great. I have sensitive skin and I never have any problems with this conditioner. Overall, a great buy. Can't say enough good things about it!
Type 4a/3c I use this conditioner when I need a little protein boost. Very nice and leaves hair soft.
I dont know? I truly do enjoy it as a rinse-out conditiner. I don't have to apply much product on my hair once its rinsed seeing as how well it moisturizes but, I find it to be a bit heavy and waxy as a leave-in. I am always torn when I run out...should I buy it again or is there something better for less money? I have been using it for a while so it must be alright. I guess I feel like $20 is a bit much to continually (and literally) go down the drain.
I like how this keeps my curls defined and shiny, but it does weigh my hair down a bit. DevaCurl is the first line of products I used since discovering how important moisture is for curly hair. As much as I appreciate the end result and the removal of parabens and sulfates and silicone, I'm very concerned, as everyone should be, about toxic chemicals in cosmetic products. We use these every day for years, so it's important to make sure that there are zero toxic ingredients in them. The Deva line, although safer than most, still includes chemicals that are known hazards, so I won't continue to use the products unless they are reformulated with safer ingredients. That said, I like how my hair looks with the Deva products.
by far one of the best conditioners I've ever used! my curls/coils are super defined after each use and stay hydrated for days. it smells great and gives my hair a nice amount of shine. the only thing lacking for me is slip BUT I find that after letting it soak into my hair for a minute or two I can get through it easily. it doesn't take a lot either. the price is the only major downside but for me its definitely worth it
I love this conditioner! I have dry, fine 3a hair that requires a lot of slip in a conditioner in order to form nice chunky ringlets. One Condition is my favorite conditioner because it makes my hair feel soft, moisturized, and healthy, and I can use it as a leave in. I've even used it as a deep conditioner and my hair was crazy shiny and my curls were popping'. Deva products just keep getting better; I love this conditioner (one curl off for the rice-I've had it 2 weeks and it's already halfway gone!)
I have really really dry and a little thin hair so I have been looking for a moisturizing product ever... LOVE this product since it's super moisturizing and creamy and there is no smell really that lasts forever :) Will definitely keep this as a staple!
I have fine thin naturally curly hair and after using this for 6 months it completely dried out my hair and left it extremely flat and my scalp was extremely dry. Very disappointed and won't purchase this again.
I am so thrilled with this conditioner, I could throw it a party! My hair felt like never before when I put this on my hair the very first time. It was a great detangler but my favorite thing is how much moisture it keeps in my hair! It was truly a life-changer for my curls. I also pair it with a little bit of Deva's Heaven In Hair for when I have some heavy tangles to work out and it makes an incredible difference. I'm so very pleased!
Detangles well enough for me to finger-detangle in the shower! Normally i use this condish after the shampoo. After wearing an unique style, instead of washing with a shampoo I may rinse my head with water, and use this product to condition twice. No weight is ever added to my hair. Then i style as usual. This conditioner gives a good slip, but not as good as some other conditioners that I have used. Not all of my curls are completely defined after i rinse it out. It gets the job done, and has my hair ready for styling. Also when using this condish my hair seems to dry quicker.
I have 3a hair, I've only been using Devacurl's products for a few weeks. But I love their one conditioner. It leaves my hair feeling soft, and is easy to get out the tangles while its in. Love it!
I have 2a-3c curls. My ALL TIME favorite conditioner!!! i have tired alot of conditioners and i love the SLIP on this!!! it is really moisturizing and light so it doesn't weight hair down. my curls love to drink this up! this conditioner lasts quite a bit too! i also use a small dime sized amount in my dripping hair for leave in. I won't give this product up. of course i will try other things (since i am a product junkie) but this is a staple to have in my bathroom cupboard for when i need it. LOVE DEVA CURL AND THE CG MEHTHOD!! DEVACURL PRODUCTS (NO POO, ONE CONDTION, AND ANGEL) WERE A HOLY GRAIL IN EMBRACING MY NATURAL CURLS!!!!
I wanted to like this product b/c of all the great reviews but sadly it did not. I applied on wet hair and used the AnGel, raked, and it looked fine wet but then after drying, the roots and top of hair had no curl definition. My hair did not feel soft or crunchy from the gel, it was stiff, and didn't feel good to the touch (which is odd b/c it tends to be soft).
am hooked on this conditioner now! like all the other deva stuff, i can't get over how good it smells!! its super moisturizing for my colored 3a hair and has great slip and detangling properties for me. I add a bit back as a pre-leave in for my brittle ends as well.
Love it ... great conditioner nice slip smells great. . Love it it is super rich and keeps very well moisturized. This is my favorite product of the Deva Curl line.
This is such a great conditioner. It really detangles and moisturizes! Plus, it smells great.
Loooove this conditioner!! It is super moisturizing and smells really nice. I also like it as a leave in but it's still good to put a styling product on top.
First of all I love how much conditioner you get! The bottle is giant! I also like that it's Sulfate, Paraben, and Silicone free so I can use it with a Keratin treatment. This conditioner was really creamy and made my hair soft. Definitely a great conditioner for everyday use!
I really liked this! Good slip, not amazing slip like the KCKT, but still good. It does eliminate the use of two conditioners, for those who use a cowash conditioner and a detangler. However, it was just okay as a leave in. My moms 3a/3b hair did fine with it as a leave in, but those with thicker textures might need a little more. It did add some nice sheen and definition to my brothers coarse hair! Its expensive, but if you want a shorter routine, go for it! I am picky about smells, and I did fine with it. Reminded me of aveda products.
I was so excited to try this product because it was reviewed so well. I went and bought it because there was a sale on it at the Spa where they sell it. I was washing my hair that night and well I was very disappointed. My hair did not feel very conditioned yet it did feel very clean so I loved that. My normal state of hair is not hard to detangle and once I stepped out of the shower after using this I felt it was dry and tangling. I gave it another shot and while it felt amazing in the shower, once I was out I had the same feeling.
Boo Booo.... okay this was my staple a few days ago. I mean literally maybe a week had passed. I dropped this conditioner because of the price for the large one is outrageous. I like to get larger sizes because it is more economically and environmentally ingenious. So therefore I switched to Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture and thought it was great but not as great as One Condition. I also work at a beauty supply store and recommend DevaCurl's One Conditioner to all curlies; also a lot of curlies purchase it on their own. I recently as in yesterday saw a bunch of women going for OC and I stopped one of them and struck up a conversation. We both expressed our love for the conditioner and complained about the price. =) This lead me to try OC again to see if it was that much better than Tresemme Naturals NM. I also used to be a DevaCurl stan, if I didn't mention that before, and wanted to continue to use their products. Well it stunk! It left my hair feeling dry; felt sort of like a cactus. I don't know what happened. The conditioner isn't old. It used to be awesome in my hair lol. It was rather odd. I feel that Tresemme Naturals NM gave me more of a slip and a lot of moisture; plus I can buy 6 24oz bottles of it for 1 32oz of OC. So it economically beats DevaCurl OC. Nevertheless, I'm sort of happy DevaCurl OC gave me eek results because I have no excuse to fork over $43 after tax* for this product. =)
love this for my tighter curls, i use it as a leave in and a rinse out conditioner, the only reason i did not give it 5 curls is because of the price and the fact that is has a waxy feeling sometimes
Another product with alcohol it was not the best for my hair type. It provides no slip what so ever. I felt like it actually made my hair tangle. I had to rinse it out and apply giovanni leave in. This line was not for me
It truly is an all-in-one conditioner! I can co-wash with this, use it as a rinse-out, use it as a leave-in, and even without gel, it acts as a styler too! It dries my hair into very nice, soft, shiny curls all over. I have used it as a deep conditioner (DT) and it worked amazingly as that too! I love how ridiculously soft it makes my hair feels, and I'm confident with the ingredients that it's babying my hair to be more and more healthier each time I use it. I even lend some to my mother and she's literally beaming with joy at how it manages her very thick wavy hair. We just love it! Out of all the Deva Curl products, THIS is my most favorite and will continue to buy it.
Best Conditioner Ever. I Love this for in shower detangling and I also leave a bit in my hair to prepare for styling. Its awesome and super moisturizing.
This is great for a detangling and as a leave in. During the winter it's the only product you will need to use. But in the summertime, especially places of high humidity you will need to use something on top of it with additional hold. I got my hair cut in layers at the DevaChan Salon NYC and honestly multiple products will have your curls looking great if you have the right cut. I tend to use other conditioners and come back to this one from time to time.
I must say I was disappointed with this product. I thought it might be an alternative at times for my Tresseme Naturals, but it will not be. I tried to use this as a leave-in and it left my hair greasy. I might use it as just a cowash and rinse it out from now on and continue to use my TN.
This creamy condish nursed my hair back to health this past winter. (Yay Glycerin!) I even used it as a leave in under AnGEL. But, the fun is over and my curls can't take it any more. This is now leaving me matted and producty, after only 2 months use! (Maybe it's the Hops?) Deva One C has pushed me into the arms of more loving and attentive conditioners. However, it smells so sweet and provides ok slip, I may give it another try next winter...hmmm...
Alright. I came on here earlier and rote a review about this product being absolutely amazing. However I've changed my mind now that I've done more research and tried other conditioners. This conditioner is good if you rinse it out or add a little to deep conditioner mixture. I no longer leave it in because it would not clump. I would have to put in a lot and use my denman in order to do this. And then the hair close to my scalp would be matted and all of my hair would be stiff. So it will be a product I'll keep on hand but there are waayy better conditioners out there. The only thing really good about it is that the ingredients are good and it works. But it doesn't eliminate any frizz and may even cause it.
I love this conditioner! It moisturizes really nicely as a rinse-out; I haven't yet tried it as a leave-in. My boyfriend likes it too, so I think I'll be purchasing the 32-oz next time!
Excellent conditioner. I like the smell to it. After co-washing with No Poo I apply this stuff. I finger it through my hair while in the shower, I even flip my head over so I get the roots and back of my hair real good. After I get out of the shower, i scruch my hair with an old T-shirt. For some reason, my hair gets used to products very quickly so i have to switch off between DevaCurl and Mixed Chicks or i won't have the same results everytime I use it. But overall I love this stuff
I have been using this conditioner now for about a week in a half (along with the entire three step system) and I absolutely love it! I tried this back in the day and hated it. At the time I was not following CG and I found this gel to be drying and dulling to my hair. I decided to revisit the CG method because I was experiencing unexplainable breakage and I wanted to give these products another go. I first purchased the Deva Care One Condition which I liked a lot but eventually the smell became offensive. It smells like an orange cream-pop in the bottle but on the hair it has this weird under note that is off putting (at least for me it was). After trying other CG friendly conditioners I decided to try this one again and I am impressed! I love the smell! It leaves my 3c curls very moisturized and soft and it is very versatile; I can use it as a leave in under gel, as a primary styler or as a deep conditioner. I will say this, I think that these products work best in conjunction with the CG method. I have noticed that as the condition of my hair has improved, the effectiveness of these products have improved. When I first revised this conditioner I had been CG for just shy of a week. At that time the results were good enough for me to give it additional tries but not five star worthy. However, each day that I used it it got better. I was able to use less and by the fourth or fifth use I was able to get soft, hydrated, second day hair. Overall I am quite please!
After I had read many, many reviews for this conditioner I was a little reluctant to buy it. I thought maybe it wouldn't be moisturizing enough. However, when I went to the beauty supply store and saw it I had to buy it. I have somewhat thick hair and it is EXTREMELY dry. When I tried it I loved it! I think that it is a great conditioner you just have to figure out which way is best to use it for your hair. I prefer to put it in my hair in the shower(I use A LOT) then after I get out I brush with a Denman and just leave it like that. To soak up extra water I use the DevaCurl towel. The one thing that stopped me from putting five stars is that it does not detangle your hair at all. I don't really have a problem with this though. But, I have to make sure to brush/comb my hair AFTER I put this in my hair, if I do it before my hair gets a little matted together.
I bought this specifically for the CG Method and genuinely hated it for the first couple of usages. Because I have tighter 3c/4a curls or, as listed in the book-a mixture of corkscrews and fractal curls, I use the conditioner as a leave in. I would have to use a ton and my hair would feel like straw soon after and it looked like a massive tumbleweed, only salvageable with headbands and ponytails. Perhaps my hair had to adjust to the product because, as time has gone by, I've had to use less product and have gotten better results and moisturized curls that look like actual curls-not tumbleweed. I really like this product and would recommend it for people following the CG Method or wanting to try a new product. I can't give it a full 5 stars because of the price-I used about 2/3 of my 32 oz bottle within two months (using it only once or twice a week) simply trying to get my hair acclimated to the product and find how it worked best for my hair and could imagine being frustrated if I purchased a 12 oz. While I recommend this product, I think a cheaper botanical conditioner from a grocery store, as sighted in the CG Method book, would work similarly.
I recently got my hair cut by a Deva trained stylist and she recommended that I try DevaCurl products so I thought I would give this a try. I must say I am rather pleased with this conditioner. It provides wonderful slip and moisture to the hair and works as an effective leave-in. The only thing I didn't care for was the smell which reminds me of Carols Daughter Hair Milk (i.e. lemon pledge). I say if you want to splurge on your hair this is a great conditioner to use!
I just tried this condition last night after buying it. I used this condition with DevaCurl NoPoo. This condition did a good job of keeping the moisture in my curls. Usually my hair gets really frizzy after an hour or so, especially if it is humid outside of I have to fight with mother nature. After I got out the shower I put a small amount of the conditioner back into my hair (about the size of a quarter) and then used the DevaCurl Angel gel and then the Devacurl set it free spray. I used the diffuser to dry my hair (upside down) and my curls came out great! Nice and bouncy, not frizzy, and the gel surprisingly held all day. It didn't leave my hair crunchy either! It was nice and soft. Since buying all these DevaCurl products were SUPER expensive I cheated a little and got the travel size version available at Ulta so I could try them all without committing my pocket book in case they didn't work for me. Worked very well for me, but I am still trying out some other products so see what I like best, but it definitely gets 4 stars from me.
This is definitely a good conditioner, leaves my curls soft and moisturized, however, there are other conditioners that I like better for the price and the smell is not my favorite. I do like that it's available on ground. It's better than any drugstore CG conditioner I've ever tried, so if I need conditioner and can't wait to reorder my staples, I'll repurchase this. Otherwise, it's very good but I have other ones I like better.
I really do like this as a pre-wash, but nothing else. I tried to co-wash w/ this, but it does not detangle my hair. It only moisturizes, I noticed, if I put it on dry hair and let it sit, then rinse, shampoo wash, and condition. Somehow, it magically made my hair accept more water--I think--therefore, adding to the overall moisturizing of my hair. I don't really like the smell, though--It is a grassy lemon that teeters on the edge of Pledge. Oh, well. I will buy again as a pre-poo dc.
I have been using this for about 8 weeks along with Lo Poo - I am a 2b/2c, and I have combination curls - so anything that works for the top (ie isn't too much) as well as the rest (needs lots of moisture) is good. I will say that using it as a leave in didn't work for me, though at my curly hair salon they do it and after the style it (which includes an hour under their dryers) looks great. Clearly it is a technique problem with me. However, it seems to be doing a great job moisturizing my hair (I wash every day but also condition every day). I have to be careful not to use too much, or it leaves my hair flat. Also - my stylist had told me to work it through the hair by hand and individual section - I found that left my hair flat. However, what I do is apply abouta palmful and then put it in the top half of my hair (not near the scalp). I then shave, and then rinse via the cupped hand method. I like it - enjoy the smell as well.
Love this product it not only works well it also smells awesome :) I have tried so many none compare to this. A must have
After reading all of the glowing reviews about this conditioner, I decided to go out and buy it. I used this for a week before realizing that my 3a hair hates this conditioner. It left my hair drier than its ever been, crunchy and extremely tangled (my hair has NEVER tangled before I used this). Luckily for my, Ulta takes products back even if they are used if you aren't satisfied. I won't ever buy this product again.
I used up the bottle and meanwhile realized that my hair hates this. Turns out all the moisture I got was just from my co wash and products, I tried using this as a co wash and my hair was so dry and tangly. When I got out of the shower it was sopping wet and ALREADY looked dull and dry. Also the smell is just awful. It might not be bad at first but it gets to you over time and it lingers. I ended up using the rest as shaving cream, and even then it was bad because of the smell.
It's ok, nothing great, not really enough moisture. It makes my hair look alright, but it's nothing special, especially for the price. It smells decent, and has decent slip. I won't repurchase, there are many better CG friendly conditioners out there.
I really love this conditioner. I am new to the DevaCurl line, I had previously used drug store shampoo and conditioner. After I finally got a curly cut and style, I realized I needed to really take care of my hair more. After reading the reviews, I tried this as both a conditioner and a leave in. I LOVE it as a conditioner in the shower, it detangles and works fantastically. When I tried it as a leave-in it left my hair feeling "producty" and icky, which is why I only gave it 4 curls, also the smells leaves a little bit to be desired. All in all, I will definitely be buying this as my daily conditioner.
Expensive but works great with the whole DevaCurl system. Natural ingredients, leaves my hair soft.
This is a pretty good conditioner for a product that has no dimethicone, sulfates, etc etc. in that it came close to the others I've used and loved for a week. Granted, they contained the crappy chemicals which later stripped my hair to straw before I realized what I was doing. My hair loves and absorbs this, but I'm not comfortable in this relationship anymore because I think I can do better.
I love this conditioner! Great slip and did a good job of moisturizing my hair. It made my hair look fabulous! I gave is four stars because I'm allergic to something in it. It think it may be the rosemary oil. I would recommend it to others. Overall, I think the DevaCare/DevaCurl line is excellent, I, unfortuntley, can't use it.
This is the best conditioner I've found, and I've tried many. I've heard it's not as good as it used to be, but it still beats every other kind for my particular hair. It works best when I use a lot, and leave a little dot-sized bit in. The curls are defined and it cuts frizz, a lot. I would give it more stars if it weren't so expensive.
When I lived in NYC this line was all I ever used when I wanted curly hair (my hair was mildly relaxed, every three months) It would give me perfectly defined curls with very ltitle/no frizz but now that I'm living in Jamaica and also growing out my natural hair, it just doesn't seem to do the job for me. Not sure if it's the climate change or the hair change that I'm having. It also didn't seem to do anything, not even moisturize, my younger sister's hair (she's always been natural, has hair down to her butt)
I would have given this 5 stars if it was a good dentangler. I assume it isn't since it's designed to work with the DevaCurl scrunch method. My thick 3c curls won't "allow" the finger through then scrunch method unless I stand it the shower forever and I personally like to see what I'm doing in a mirror. I don't mind using this as a leave in, but for the price, I'd prefer something more versatile. And there are plenty of cheaper leave-ins that are just as moisturizing. I'm just not that impressed.
Love love love it I use it once a week the only product that when I straighten it it keeps my hair so soft moisturized none oily very gental my hair loves it
I did not like the smell of this and it was not very moisturizing for me. Definitely not worth the price.
I really like this. I got the sample pack to try the DevaCurl No Poo, One C, and Angel. This was my favorite of the three products (No Poo is also nice, but can easily be subbed with a cheaper conditioner for co-washing, and Angel for me was a complete disaster). It is REALLY moisturizing, has great slip, and smells (to me) fantastic. A really unique scent. I have best luck with the spritz & condish method of moisturizing. I plan to repurchase.
bought this for my 11 year old. i was so excited about it then after we used it nothing but dry, frizzy hair. i was very disappointed in it especially for the money i paid for the whole kit and kabboodle, close to $100.00 and thats because i had a coupon for the store i bought it at lol. my daughter is bi racial with dry, frizzy, curls.
I've been using this for only a couple of weeks, but I'm stunned each day at the difference in my hair. I've always had very dry hair that broke easily, tangled all the time, and had terrible split ends. Now, my hair is so soft I barely recognize it, and my hair is slowly popping into smooth 3b corkscrews rather than frizz. I didn't believe it was meant for me to like my hair in this life, and now I know I just never learned what my hair needed to make it likeable. On Condition is wonderful after No-Poo, as a co-wash, and as a leave-in and/or overnight conditioner. My hair does not tangle as much overnight as it used to, and it hasn't knotted up during the days. Amazing!
Great conditioner... both as a wash out and as a leave in. The deva products have nice light scents that are not overwhelming like others. I can run my fingers right through. Leaves my hair nice and soft. Often use this to CO-WASH because leaves my hair feeling clean
Great product! Loved how soft and shiny my hair came out, and my curls/waves were the best I've ever seen them! Conditioner has great slip for detangling and adds a ton of moisture to my hair!
Used to love, till they changed their formulation a year or so ago, even desperately wrote to them. what a diff .offers no moisture, you have to use 3 xs as much..dont even think it will make a decent shaving cream... booo on Deva
I’m terribly disappointed with DevaCurl. I spent so much time researching products and was looking forward to hopefully finding the right one….NOT so! I have thick 3c/4a type hair and the Low-Poo shampoo made my hair feel so dry and very straw like, I was baffled. I was desperately hoping the One Condition would make it feel softer and detangle my hair but I felt like it did absolutely nothing. I applied more to no avail. I rinsed out the conditioner after combing through my hair, replied a little to use Deva Angel and my hair started having white dots like the conditioner and gel was clumping together. I felt like I just wanted to wash my hair again, but didn’t have the time. I’ve only used it once and terrified to try it again. Prior to DevaCurl I used Surface Vegan Hair Products and Mixed Chicks…on to something different now.
Definitely not all that thrilled with this as I was with the No Poo Shampoo. My comb ran through my hair ok but it was not moisturized enough for me.
this conditioner wasnt horrible but it did absolutely nothing for my hair. i also dont like the smell
excelent for my 3b hair. i use it in my daily routine along with the devacurl gell and angel spray. because I have cradle cap when washing i use apple cider vinegar with it and occassionally cold salt water. I rinse with cold water.
This is one of the best conditioners I've come across. it has a very clean smell and my hair instantly melts like butter as soon as I put it in. It makes my hair very easy to detangle. It is very creamy and moisturizing and great for deep conditioning also.
Although I will admit that I am not a fan of many Deva products, this one is a stand out for me. Great slip but light enough for my fine-ish hair. I do not co-wash so use this as a rinse out and I just keep coming back and buying more.
Love this conditioner the most as a deep conditioner w/ heat. Very moisturizing! Also tried it with honey and olive oil w/ heat and was very pleased with the results. Nice as a rinse-out and a leave-in too, but the cost prevents me from using it this way too often (deduct one curl for price). The scent is clean/pleasant and lasts for days! So glad I tried this, but sorry I waited so long.
Love Love Love this! I highly reccomend it. I think One Condition is the only one off all the deva products i've tried that is actually worth the 18 bucks. Sinfully moisterizing, leaves hair soft and full, and defines my 3c/4a/4b kinks and curls beautifully. I usually put a lttle in my palm with some water and use it as a leave-in or a frizz fighting pick me up when its needed.Sometimes i'll use a little under gel to keep my hair from getting dried out The only reason it's only 4 curls is because of the smell, personally didn't really like it that much an Unscented version would be nice. Other than that PLEASE give this one a shot, its truley a keeper.
Love the scent (reminds me of skittles), this is one of my staple products. It's moisturizing and makes a great leave-in conditioner. Love dual-purpose products!
I've been using this conditioner for almost two months and it's OK. It smells great, detangles well, but doesn't condition the hair as much as I'd like. I am not going to reorder this product.
I Love this conditioner!!! Usually I have to use so much conditioner to make my hair feel soft. With this I only used a little bit of conditioner and it went through all of my hair, and I have a lot of it. My hair is soft, shiny and moisturized. Not to mention how amazing this conditioner smells. I will definitely buy this again.
My hair did NOT like this product at all! I tried it twice and it left my 3b/3c hair dry and brittle each time, not to mention, the smell is nauseating! It may work for some, but just didn't live up to the hype for me. I wound up giving it away.
This is a great all-purpose product. I use it to co-wash my hair, condition my hair, and occasionally as a styling product. The smell is pleasant and light but as a sensitive redhead I’d prefer the use of essential oils for scent rather than fragrance. I love that this brand uses a lot of botanical ingredients but I still see some ingredients listed I’m not crazy about. Still, this conditioner gets the job done without weighing down my locks.
Unfortunately I got no magic from this product. I have had better natural conditioners who were more hydrating and better value for their price. My hair feels bleh. I can imagine the entire devacurl line works for someone who is new to being a curly girl, but after embracing my curls for more than 10 years, this doesn't do any trick, neither the rest of the line. There are more products out there that are natural and hydrating but for a decent price
This isn't just a conditioner, it's pure magic! One that a curly gurl can't live without! Soaks into hair beautifully, but make sure to leave a lot in if your tend to have dry hair that frizzes! :) super happy with this conditioner, leaves me with super hydrated ringlets
I love this product! It is the best conditioner I’ve ever used. It makes my hair so soft & it detangles my hair without combing it! I even made my own leave-in conditioner by mixing 50% water and 50% One Condition in a travel size spray bottle. It works wonderfully!
Detangles like a dream, smells great, uber slip and easy to distribute because it isn't too thick or buttery.
This conditioner is the best I've ever tried in my life!!! I even gave some to my curly friend in a little bottle because she was starting to become a CG! Anyways, this condish is the best for detangling my hair and moisturizes very well! I wasn't used to the smell at first, but I got used to it. If you don't like the smell of this one-c, try the DevaCare one. It smells like zesty orange!
I'm not impressed with this product and my husband does NOT like the scent! I am using this product after trying Kinky Curly's Knot Today which is hard to beat!
I have 3a hair, very difficult to deal with; and unsurprisingly this product did nothing for my hair. I did like the Deva Heaven in the Hair deep conditioner worked better for me as a daily conditioner.
i absolutley love this product!! without deva, my hair is a huge puffball and only has waves. with deva, my hair is wayy less frizzy and i have the curls i have always dreamed about. (type 2c curls) its a little bit annoying because you have to do a certain process (not rinse out all of the conditioner, and i can't put my hair up or the curls will come out) but is is so worth it, and its worth the price too.
I thought this product was doing nothing for me. I used it with wash and gos all week. I felt a little more curly than usual but it wasn't until I blowdryed my hair and saw the intense curl pattern that remained in my hair for days beind a 4a/4b that's hard to come by!
DevaCurl One Condition is perfect for 3b curls! I can use the No Poo followed by the One Condition in the shower and actually comb through all of the tangles! I leave it in and dry naturally, or use AnGEL for a style that I wear proudly since switching to these products!
I guess I'm the odd one out here... It's very rare that I would like a product line's shampoo (or in this case, "no poo") better than I like its conditioner, but that's the case here. I love the Deva Curl No Poo, but this conditioner did not work so well in my hair. It left my hair feeling sticky, and I swear it builds up in my hair-- which is REALLY weird because my dry 3C strands can feel like a brillo pad at times-- my hair sucks up just about whatever you put on it. Maybe it's the glycerin content that's not agreeing with me. At any rate, if your hair is tolerant of glycerin, you'll probably like this product.
Awesome product! It conditions without weighing down hair & is also a great leave in conditioner. Trust me, this is well worth the price.
I was convinced that I could find something better and cheaper than this product, but that hasn't happened yet. I comb this through in the shower and then don't rinse out--it makes styling products (non-Deva products at that) work even better.
I've got 3A SUPER fine curls. This stuff is one of my "holy grails". I use it dry on my hair as a conditioning treatment. I use it as a rinse out. I use it as a leave-in. It provides such bounce and shine. And I really think it's helped my hair health more than other conditioners. This is so worth the price. I ration it when I'm running out.
Love it! Smells good. Doesn't weigh down hair. My hair hasn't ever looked so good. Now instead of cutting my hair because I hate it, I am growing it back out.
This is a good daily conditioner in my opinion. My hair feels really soft after using it, though I think I'll try it in combination with my low poo cleanser instead of the DevaCurl No Poo, which I didn't like. This product smells better than the No Poo, but I wish it smelled more like the gel.
This is about the best conditioner I've ever used. It's so luscious and it really delivers the goods.
I have 3b curls and it didnt leave it so soft as I was expecting for it to leave my hair... considering the type of reviews it was receiving..
I love this conditioner. It is my fav of all the ones I've tried so far. I picked it up as DC. I used a plastic cap and sat under dryer. My hair has never felt so hydrated. Worth the money.
Great overall conditioner! It has great slip and leaves my hair very soft. I also use it as a styler to set my twists and braids and it holds very nicely.
This product is slowly becoming my holy grail. I love how versatile it is! I have used it as co-wash, conditioner, leav in, and deep conditioner. The other night I washed my hair before bed and conditioned with it and didn't rinse it out at all. I let my hair air dry with it in and slept with it. The next morning I woke up and just rinsed my hair out and then did my usual routine. My hair was awesome!
I LOVE this product. I use it in the shower, lightly rinse it out and my hair is so moisturized. This, along with the Deva Curl No Poo quench my thirsty curls and are a great foundation for the styling products I use. I "heart" Deva Curl lol :)
This condish for me is HG as it's all purpose. You can use it as: a prepoo, cowash, LI, DT and light PT (if you're protein sensitive as it has a dash of hops) and it works extremely well and packs that moisture in! A little goes a long way though so have a light hand when using it as a LI.
I love this conditioner as a leave in, and a rinse. Its so moisturizing. I have noticed a difference in my hair since using the deva line.
My favorite conditioner right now. Although the product junkie in me will continue to try everything. I like how silky and soft my hair is after using it.
I only saw good results with this conditioner if I rinsed it out completely. Left my hair really heavy when I rinsed 80% as directed. Notice I said "good"...never got hair that was to die for with any of the Deva products.
This is a fantastic conditioner. I've only used it once (it arrived yesterday, actually), and yet my curls look MUCH more defined and hydrated. LOVE IT!
This is the best conditioner I've found that is light enough to use everyday, but really moisturizing. It makes my hair really soft and healthy-feeling, but does not weigh down at all.
I really liked this product, and it worked well with my fine hair. However, when I moved--to an area that's experiencing more dryness than usual--it didn't provide enough moisture for my hair. Right now use, the DevaCare One Conditioner and LOVE it.
2a/3a This works great, I have to be careful as a leave-in to not use too much. I like the smell after I got used to it.
(3b-3cish) Ahhh. My go to, no fail conditioner right here. This is the best daily rinse out conditioner hands down. I use it everyday. I also use it to co-wash once in a while and sometimes as a leave in (great as a leave in). It has so many uses. Honestly, i couldn't find one thing wrong with this product. It's really moisturizing and keeps my super long curls in great shape!
I bought this as a skeptic that I just shelled out too much money for another conditioner that was going to leave me disappointed. To my surprise, not only was I super happy with the results, in fact, it's probably the best feeling my hair and curls have been in months. It's a very smooth conditioner, not clumpy or too thick. It distributes very easily and although I used a lot, I never felt greasy. I used this as my leave in as well and had nice light, fluffy, totally hydrated curls. I'm totally happy with it and would definitely buy it again, my only complaint is that I'm not a huge fan of the fragrance.
I bought this thinking it would work the same as my other conditioners, but wanted to give it a try because of all the reviews, and I was pleasantly surprised that I did feel a difference in my hair when I used it. My hair does feel noticeably softer, and the smell has a very down to earth but clean scent. It's rich, so I didn't have to use as much as I normally would. personally I leave this product in and it feels fine. Although it's a little pricey than I'd like, I would definitely buy it again.
Nothing compares!!! just a hint, when you see a conditioner that cost a lot then one that doesn't. Remember that the reason one is more expensive is that it uses more natural botanicals then the cheaper one, which has more synthetic ingredients.
This makes my hair so soft. It smells really nice and it compliments the no poo very well. Love this one too!:)
This is an awesome conditioner! It's thick and very moisturizing. Also smells amazing! I love the lemongrass scent! When working this in my hair it took some getting used to. With cone filled conditioners they usually give instant slip and work right through my hair without fail. With the One Condition because of its organic formulation, I just add extra water to my hair as I'm working it through. It slips through my hair like a dream and my hair is happy afterward! Highly recommend it!
Love this product! It is great as a conditioner or as a no-poo wash in a pinch. Great fragrance. Provides moisture and curl enhancement without being too heavey. Perfect for every day use.
Love this but my hair soaks it up so quickly that I think I also need a deep conditioner to go with it.
Its the best cowash. It provides moisture and helps a lot with curl formation without being too heavy as is the issue with my other faveorite conditioner like AOHSR. The Deva Curl is simply one of the best brands ever produced. So far the two products I have tried from them have been more than outstanding.
I love the way this product treats my kinky hair. It helps to define my usually indistinguishable curl pattern. But the reason that I gave it a rating of three curls and no more is because I had to add aleo vera to it in order to help define my curl a bit better (I love aloe). If it had aloe vera in it I would have given it five curls... I'm looking forward to trying their no-poo (I enjoy a good tingle) ^_^
This conditioner is amazing. It detangles my hair in no time flat. I like the scent and I can use just a teeny bit as a leave in conditioner. After using this my curls are soft, shiny, and healthy.
I returned this one because the smell was just way overbearing. I learned that I am not a fan of the lemongrass scent. It didn't provide as much slip as I would have liked either. Detangling properties were ok, not great. I'm still looking for that great conditioner!
I just tried this product today. My thoughts are so-so about it right now. The smell is pretty strong, but it did seem to elongate my curls and lessen the frizz. I think I can get used to it.
OMG I wanted to like this but the smell made me so sick I had to wash my hair all over again. My husband even asked me what I had on because the smell made him a little sick to his stomach. I couldn't blame him because it practically knocked me out as soon as I put it in my hair. I thought maybe I was being a little overly sensitive and the smell would fade (boy was I wrong)! I have honestly never smelled anything so horrible in my life..wow! He begged me to take another shower and get the smell out and I agreed. It was making me sick too. I bought the DevaCare system from here at NaturallyCurly.Com and am very happy with that line (and I can tolerate the orange scent though its not wonderful it does fade) but I swapped with a girl for this at MakeUpAlley just so I could try it and say I had tried both (thank God I didn't buy this stuff). I wanted to try it so that when I go to buy the bigger economy sizes, I will know which one I liked better. Well I can honestly say that I would rather die before ever smelling this stuff again. I can't even describe the smell really. It's a strange odorous chemical scent that is sickeningly sweet and nauseating. Like a mixture of rotten eggs, sulphur and rotting fruit. Ewwwwww! My hair is very thick and curly and yet the DevaCare did a better job of leaving my curls moisturized, defined (and not stinky). Goodbye DevaCurl and hello DevaCare.
For my hair, other conditioners work better and I can use less. I had to use darn near 1/4 of the bottle and it did not magically detangle my hair.
This is a great everyday conditioner that hydrates my hair so it feels soft and elastic without weighing my curls down. I love the Devacurl Low-Poo and One Condition combo.
I echo what the others say about the build up. I really liked this at first. But over time my hair felt dirty and really weighed down.
OneC did not live up to the hype for me. The slip is slightly better than average, but I have to use a lot to coat all my hair. The smell is HORRIBLE... I feel like I'm putting toilet cleaner on my hair. Over time, I got some build-up and it seemed to moisturize less. I can find better conditioners for a cheaper price.
Pretty good conditioner but after longer use it always made my hair feel like it had build-up and it almost felt dirty. Too rich for my hair I guess. Smells a little odd but still good. Not at all good as a leave in in my hair (fine strands but thick hair). I still think this is among the better conditioners out there and it is protein free for people that like that.
This is a hit and miss for me. About 90% of the time, it doesn't work for me. I either get very frizzy but soft hair or weighted down hair. The good times are good but they are very rare. It's really strange. But I've stopped using it since most of the time I get disaster.
Very nice moisture, and great smell, but I prefer DevaCare One C over this for performance and I get much nicer curls!
Really liked this product. If my hair needs a more intense condition (when it is really dry) I just leave it on longer. Smells great too!
This is thick, creamy, earthy smelling goodness. It conditions nicely and can be used as a deep treatment and it has nice slip.
This might be my HG conditioner. It smells absolutely delicious and encourages curl better than any other conditioner I've ever used. Works great as a leave in. I'm buying the liter as soon as my bottle runs out.
I just want to echo what others have said. I've been a member of nc.com for 2 years now and while I've read all about Devacurl and the CG book itself, I never tried any Devacurl products until a week ago. I got DevaCARE low poo, Devacurl One C and SIF in a swap with beaglecookie. The very first time I used One C, I was hooked! I didn't even wait to finish my sample before I ordered the full size bottle a couple days later. This stuff just slides right through my tangly, dry, highlighted hair like a dream! It's amazing. It has almost surpassed my HG Joico Silk Result Conditioner in terms of detangling my hair. I've bought Silk Result 6 or 7 times now, I love it that much. I've never repurchased a product that many times because I usually get bored and move on. Now, there is some competition from One C. Like many other ladies, I also use this as a leave-in and a styling cream. It's hard to believe that the curl enhancing product I've been looking for is actually a conditioner! I wish I hadn't waited so long but I was afraid it would just be one more product in the graveyard under my sink. As for the scent, I really like it. I don't find it too overpowering or lingering but I respect that some people might not like it. I will definitely repurchase, though I'm very curious about the DevaCARE One C and will probably buy that next time. Highly recommend!
This is a great conditioner, but I could not use it long-term due to its smell. The smell was just too overwhelming for me! I will only give this product 3 stars because, the smell could be better.
normally instant conditioners aren't good enough for my thick dry waves but this stuff is brilliant. its so rich & creamy!!! my hair felt so soft and looked very well defined. i leave a little in as a leave-in and also use it as a deep treatment! a 3-in-1 conditioner you really can't go wrong with!
I have used a lot of conditioners in my time and I have to say this is one of the best. It is a creamy conditioner that is extremely moisturizing. I like to leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour and my hair is SUPER soft and curls defined. I don't mind the smell, but it seems to be a love it or hate it issue. I definitely recommend this conditioner if you have curly, dry hair.
I've had the hardest time finding a suitable conditioner for my hair. I've been using Herbal Essences: Intensive Blends for about 4 years now, but it was discontinued. After finding this website I decided to try One Condition and it is by far the best conditioner I've used. It's thick enough for me not to use tons of it, yet light enough not to weigh my curls down b/c I leave some in. It also has the wonderfully light scent of Lemongrass. I'm hooked.
This is a staple for me. I love the smell and really helps to detangle. Great as a leave in as well.
I find this is one of the best detanglers out there. I love the scent and I use this frequently, especially in the summer months. I leave some of it in and it really helps with frizz too.
This did soften my hair, but I was left with soft frizzy and pouffy hair. Add humidity and it was even worse..plus the silicone build up weighed down and coated my hair.
I love this conditioner! It's my HG conditioner. I get amazing consistent results! Beautiful defined soft curls. It's very rich and I get a good slip. The scent may be a bit strong at the beginning, but I got use to it.
By far the best conditioner I have ever used. Finally, something that softens my dry summer hair that is just so strawlike right now. I have tried so many different conditioners and spent a lot of money. I don't think I'll be buying anything else from now on!!! :D
(3c/4a) I ran out of another condish and reached for this one after three months and I rediscovered how wonderful this condish is. Great slip and a lovely scent. I dont rinse it all out and it doubles as a leave in. Great stuff. I now need a liter.
(3b) My curls come out defined in ringlets, bouncy, and not too full, which is good for my very high-volume hair. I use it as a leave-in. If I run my fingers along a curl, I feel a wee bit of stickiness/greasiness. The only thing I hate about it is the SMELL! It nearly disappears when dry, thankfully, so I will keep using this.
I love this conditionner! It's really moisturizing and is responsable for making my hair healthy again. Great detangler, so-so smell but I got used to it. I'm just concerned about the 'cone in it, but so far, so good!
This is my HOLY GRAIL of conditioners! You can use it as a regular conditioner, as a leave-in and as a deep conditioning treatment with heat. The smell is delicious and I am so addicted to it! Makes my hair soft, shiny and curlier than ever. I always have a bottle (big one) in my shower!
The BEST conditioner I've ever used. It melts my terrible tangles away. It leaves my hair soft and smooth. No matter how much I leave in it never feels greasy.(I have to mention the smell - at first I thought I'd have to stop using it because it was horrid. But now it doesn't bother me!)
I love this product! It smells amazing and leaves my hair feeling silky! Now that you can buy it online, it's even better.
WOW WOW WOW!!!! I have never in my life experienced conditioning like this product provides. Tangles? No problem, they come out without any effort. And after your hair is dry it feels soft and tangle free. This is by far the BEST thing I have ordered. This conditioner should be rated 5 curls b/c it is THAT good. The smell is something to get used to, very strong and lemony.
I love this product! Changed my hairs life! ;o) Smells good, makes my hair feel super soft and it made my hair healthy. Best Conditiner ever.
GREAT conditioner. really detangles and moisturizes my curls. i leave all of it in and then style with Angell, and it doesn't weigh my hair down at all. nice smell too. LOVE IT!!!
Possibly the best detangling conditioner I have EVER used! I am tempted to take off one curl b/c I detest the scent, but it works so well as a detangler that I just can't. I have very, very hard water and even though my hair is quite healthy, I have detangling issues... even more so since I have gone on a CG routine. Anyway, this stuff busts through the tangles immediately and leaves my hair feeling so silky in the rinse cycle. It also makes a terrific leave-in conditioner b/c it's not heavy/greasy in the least. For anyone (CG'ers or non-CG'ers) dealing with tangles, I highly recommend this.
My HG of all products! I never though I would find my HG conditioner, but this is it! I have extremely tangley hair, and I still can't get over how well this condish just seems to make the tangles disappear! I can finally comb my fingers through my hair in the shower, without having to touch a comb to detangle. It's light, curl-enriching, and smells REALLY nice! This stuff is amazing and I just can't praise it enough! :D
I just started using this and I LOVE it! I went to the Devachan salon the other day. They did a great job on my hair, so I wanted to pick up the products. This is light, all natural and effective. Also very cost effective because now I use one product instead of two or three. It can be used in the shower and out. I would really recommend.
I am very happy with this conditioner. At first, seeing amodimethicone in it turned me off, but I have no buildup with it, I do not lose curl, it smells great, I have a lot of shine. I definitely have more curl with this condish than without it. I have more curl and less frizz than with any other condish I have used. I am very happy with it.
I like this conditioner a lot. It smells good & is the best detangling conditioner I've ever used. The only thing I don't like about it is, if I leave any on, my hair tends to feel producty. Other than that, a truly fabulous conditioner. (3b/a)
A nice, light daily conditioner with a fresh scent. It conditions nicely without weighing hair down.
Love the smell, distributability, and just about everything else about this conditioner. Definitely on my list of favorite conditioners.
