Tried this for the first time yesterday before a party. Nothing has been working lately in this humidity and I found this at TJ Maxx for 15... though I recently heard Sally's has a knock off version for less than 10. Anyways, Amazing! Pros: Curls were defined, bouncy, and the softest they have ever felt with product. They feel like they do when I have no product but actually look good. I didn't think that was possible. Detangling. Moisturizing. Huge bottle. Stood up against humidity. Cons: I lost a ton of hair in the shower. My hair was huge, a lot of volume! (but I am also in dire need of a haircut so maybe that will change once I go to the hairdresser tomorrow). The smell I'm pretty neutral about. It wasn't good but it also wasn't bad. It doesn't linger though so it won't overpower any scents you choose to wear.. (right now my hair smells like hair and not coconut like I'm used to with my Aussie) but I personally love fruity smelling hair products so that's why this is a con. Verdict: This is definitely worth a try if you have 3a/3b hair like mine. Hope you like it as much as me.
So I got this product at Ulta it was a sale for the big professional salon size. I needed a new shampoo for my hair especially for the dry cold winter. Once I put the conditioner in my hair I new it was doing its job. When I washed out the product my hair instantly was moisturized. This product is amazing and I love it. My breakage defiantly lessened.
used this on my daughters dry, frizzy curls. no help at all! it still frizzed up her curls were still untameable.
Works wonders for my protein loving hair. I use it about twice a month and follow with a DT treatment.
This is my new HG deep treatment. I now buy the GVP version at Sally's though for a fraction of the price. Love everything about this conditioner except the generic coconut smell (same in GVP version). I am SICK of coconut scent in curly products!
Hair type: tons of volume, very dense, medium thickness My hair started out extremely damaged from daily straightening and hair color. I've been switching between this and Moisture Maniac for a year and I will say, my hair is strong and finally healthy looking. It's protein packed so it does weigh down over time so I clarify once a month.
This conditioner gave me chunky, pin-curls, but the curls had noticeable frizz around them. When I used this for more than one day in a row, my hair started feeling drier each day. Smelt wonderful though.
One of the great reconstructors. I use it with a microcap for a fabulous deep treatment that leaves my hair soft (and helps to define my curls) all week long.
My absolute favorite deep conditioner. Leaves my hair soft and conditioned. Smells like bananas.
I've been using this stuff for years. I apply it to dry hair then heat it up w/ a blow dryer and rinse. The heat makes it absorb even better and seems to repair my hair instantly.
The first use impressed me, but I wouldn't use it often because of the high protein content. Contains mineral oil.
This seems to have dried my hair out over weekly uses. Maybe my hair just doesn't like protein? I've moved on to Jessicurl.
I credit the whole Joico K-Pak line with bringing the health of my hair back after a triple highlighting disaster last summer, that, combined with the sun and salt water, left my hair in miserable shape. Since the reconstructor was the first product from the line that I used, it will always have a special place in my heart. :0)
The deep conditioner (a leave-on for 5 minutes) is something I've been using in conjunction with their Joico K-Pak shampoo. The condish is really great - smells good, thick, coats well. You do have to remember to clarify with a shampoo though once a week or twice a month because the protein build-up can weigh your hair down. It's also a bit pricey - over $15 for the smallest size and over $22 for the bigger one.
This is a FABULOUS deep conditioner!! I have been using it for years!! It smells kind of like a banana, but otherwise wonderful product!!!
One of my old faves; very thick; don't use this if you don't like protein, though. Coconut-y smell. Also, try the generic version at Sally's if you don't want to pay so much for this! It works just as well.
