Love, love, love this product. I use it to SOTC and also smooth on my hands. It is very moisturizing, leaves my curls soft and shiny and smells great! It is expensive, but a little goes a long way. I actually prefer it to be a little melty, but if yours melts and you want it solid again, pop it in the microwave for a few seconds, give it a good stir, and stick in the fridge overnight and you're good to go again.

I don't allow this stuff to touch my scalp, but oh what a wonder it performs on my hair as a sealant for twist outs.

Bomb. I've never had any product nouish my dry scalp (and I have dry scalp badd) like this product and last all day!! I couldn't believe it lbs Pricey yes, worth it? Yes!

Love it for SOTC and also smooth on throughout the day as the frizzies pop up. This helps to keep things moisturized. This is HG for me. And I like the scent too. I left it in my car one day and discovered I prefer it kind of half melted. If you do melt it accidentally, microwave it for 30 secs and pop in the fridge overnight, it will go back to its solid form. I find when it is melted, I tend to use a little less.

Doesn't really do much for me except make my hair shiny for like a day. I like my home made shae butter mix better and its more light weight for some one who has thinner hair like me. Cost too much as well.

Simply the BEST hair sealer and finishing product. Light and fresh scent, provides softness and shine. A little goes a long way. A bit pricey, but sooooo worth every penny. This a HG product for me! I can't say enough good things about this stuff.

This is a nice butter blend that I like to use as a finishing product. It makes my twist-outs look nice and shiny and seems to help keep some of the frizz at bay while I'm taking out twists.

I really like this, I use it mostly to remove the gel cast. I also use it for my hands and knees. A bit expensive though, thats why it doesn't get 5 stars. But a little goes a long way with this :) .

I got a travel pack to sample all JC products. I wanted to reinvigorate my 8th day hair (yes 8th day hair, lol), so I steamed it with a little conditioner in the shower as usual, added a dime sized amount of KCCC to my hair and then sealed with this (the package recommended it as a sealer). It is a little hard to spread even when I warmed/rubbed it in between my hands. Overall, I am pleasantly surprised, by curls are alive again. I have this spot in the center/back area of my head that tends to get matted easily and I put some extra on there and it softened/separated the curls so that it no longer feels matted. The smell is pretty strong in that I can smell it on my head which I usually cannot with other products, so if you are sensitive to smell, this might not be for you. I will have to try it a few more times because I have a hair/body butter that I love (Alaffia's Africa's Secret) that is odorless and goes on a lot smoother, but I think I will take this travel sized one with me on trips and have no issues using it as an alternate hair/body butter.

I love JC' s Nourish/Shine!! It is such a great product that I use it on my hair and body as well...it smells great and it does not leave my hair weighted down and feeling greasy!

i have 3a hair and my hair is in LOVE with this product! i used it only in extremely low dews the previous winter, was okay. now in mid to low dews i have been using it regularly. i scrunch in in over my leave in and/or styler, then maybe hit whatever spots seem to need more as it is drying. my hair stays moisturized and now shines!! can even get 2nd day hair now, rarely before. it really locks in moisture. nourish and shine is a staple for my hair!

Really great stuff, but I like the Qhemet Aethiopika butter better for sealing. I would recommend this, though!

Once I learned how to use this, I was in LOVE! I initially used it to do my two strand twists, and while it softened my hair, by the time my hair dried it had lost it's shine. Now I used Carol's Daughter Honey Mimosa for twists, and use THIS wonderful stuff to take down the twists!! My fingers glide through and separate my twists without frizz, and they're left with extra frizz protection and long-lasting shine. Muy bueno in my book!

The only reason I give it a 4 is the price. Otherwise I absolutely LOVE it. I have 3a/b/c curls and I use it to SOTC and it really leaves my hair soft and defined. It doesn't take a lot, use the suggested amount or a bit more or it will make your hair feel droopy/heavy. I think it will take me 6 months to a year to use it all. I thought it was more of a cream which is why I waited a year to buy it, but its more of a wax. It doesn't shrink your curls either!

This gets a 5 on smell alone... Just kidding. I use this on my hair and my body and I adore it. It seals in moisture for days, lays down fly aways and works well for twists/twist outs.

I like this product. It does smooth the hair and gives great shine, however the smell is extremely strong!!!! I used this in the morning and could still smell it at bed time. In the morning my bonnet smelled like it too. gave me a headache.

I really love this product. It adds great sheen and moisture to my 3c hair. I love the conistency and it melts in my hands and leaves no residue in my hair. My hair is color-treated so it provides a great sheen and also adds to life to the color of my hair. One of the best products I have used.

I feel a bit guilty giving this 3 curls instead of 4 or 5; perhaps I did not use it correctly, and I'm sure I will give it another shot. I'm pretty much a wash and go girl; I don't generally do shingles, twists, or braids. I used this on wet hair and while it left my hair "moisturized," it was also kind of sticky. I did find better results when I used it to smooth down some flyaways when I pulled my hair back in a high ponytail. It imparted a nice sheen to my hair. I found the scent refreshing, citrusy, and very reminiscent of summer time, but the hubby thought that it was too intense and overpowering and requested that I not use it again in his presence (he alluded to it smelling like a citronella candle). I do really like that the product is all natural and is multipurpose. I think I might like it better as a skin moisturizer as opposed to a product for my hair...

I've been using this product for a week now and....wow this was SOOO worth the $22!! I have type 4 (a,b,c, etc) hair and ALL I need to do is dampen my hair with water (I prefer to use this product on wet hair), rub a pea-sized amount into my fingers, shingle, twist, and PRESTO!! A beautiful two-strand-twist is born, lol I know I'm doing too much, hehe! I'm finding that this product works best when I DON'T use a leave-in conditioner underneath. Just the Nourish and Shine by itself is moisturizing enough for my usually dry hair. Additionally, I installed mini-twists using the the N&S a week ago, and my hair is STILL soft and has a nice sheen! I've never been particular about products being "too greasy" because that's exactly what my hair needs. The more oil, the softer my hair feels. And yet this hair butter doesn't leave my forehead shiny, lol. JCS's hair butter is actually the first hair butter I've ever used, and my expectations have exceeded beyond the stars. So much so that this is a STAPLE for my hair. Great for summer and probably even better for winter. If you didn't/don't like it on your hair, hopefully you'll like it for your skin :D

LOVE LOVE LOVE... I have 3b/3c hair (sometimes 4a too). I am of mixed heritage (Black/Korean). I use this to SOTC after my last applied product (gel) dries. When using it this way...beautiful things happen! Just use a tiny bit (pea size) rub/blend together into your hands and then flip hair over & scrunch...flip to sides...scrunch again and VOILA...beautiful, shiny bouncy curls. I am in love and finally found my HG finisher. Also the smell is wonderful. For those of you who left negative reviews, maybe used too much? Or didn't try on dry hair as a finisher to SOTC? Before you give-up...try this way! = )

I have fine, low porosity hair and it absolutely hated this. I gave the jar to my sister who loves using thick butters and creams on her hair. She found it too greasy and the scent repulsive. The smell reminds me of Pine-sol

My hair type is 4b. I love the texture of the product and it smells great. It adds shine and brings my 4-5 day old straw set back to life, and cuts down on the frizz. But sadly, it aggravates my dandruff so badly that even using pure tea tree oil directly on my scalp before each shampoo wasn't eliminating all of the dandruff. So I had to stop using the Nourish and Shine. After that, the dandruff finally went away completely.

Love this stuff! Smells good and a little goes a LONG way. After I diffuse, I rub a tiny amount in my palms and run over hair to tame any frizzies. I redo some finger curls to add definition and shine to them. I use only about a pea-sized amount each time. If I get too much on my hands, I use it as a lotion where my skin needs some extra moisture.

I'm giving this 4 curls because of the price and the size. I've been able to find it for cheaper through amazon. This lasted maybe 3 weeks since a little goes a long way. It made my hair come to life! My skin looooves this stuff. I apply it right out of the shower and slip on my shea socks to lock in moisture. It smells heavenly! I have a tiny amount left that I'm holding on to. *sighs* lol

I really like this! I usually use it to scrunch out the crunch when I use KCCC. It is pricey, but I have had this for about two months and I realized that I have been much too heavy handed with it, and I have only used about a third of it, so a little does go a long way. I also use it before I flat iron my hair, and it makes my hair really soft when I'm done and I feel like it protects the ends.

Why is this so expensive?

This is a really great butter that moisturizes the hair really well. It works best for me when my hair is wet.

Echhhh, my 3c hair does not take kindly to this at all. I warmed it up in the palm of my hand really well and tried twisting my curls in it, but it was like putting paste in my hair. As a body butter, on the other hand, it's lovely. (And it says it on the package--you can use it on hair or skin.) So I'll just be sticking to using it on my ashy elbows and feet and go back to Oyin Shine and Define.

Great product; perfect in winter! I've used this to twist and untwist my hair and as a body butter. Leaves hair very shiny, soft, and nourished and skin moisturized and protected against the elements. It has a mild citrus scent; a little goes a long way. Minus a half "curl" for the price.

I have very kinky hair and this is the one product that my hair cannot survive without. I apply this directly to my scalp and hair once a week and it takes my hair to new level of EVERYTHING! It's softer, smoother, shinier, and stronger.

I used this product first on my wet 3b hairs, then layered with a little leave in mixed with water and her wrapping solution. I then braided my hair and let it dry in the braids. I did not like the outcome at all! My hair is extremely soft and this left my hair feeling very olly; thus the curls did not hold well, and it was just a frizzy mess. I think this product needs to be used sparingly and possibly on coarser hair.

I didn't like this product at first but I think it's because I wasn't sure of how to use it on my hair. I'm a 3C that likes to rock the wash and go so this product works great for adding to the curl definition, softness and shine of my hair. I use it after I condition, leaving a little bit of the conditioner in my hair. I then add the cream to my roots to stop the frizz that develops when it dries then I lightly shingle the rest of my hair. When it dries its curly and soft all over. I love it.

This stuff is incredible. It has the right blend of butters that will leave your hair feeling oh so soft. Its magic!!! I was very impressed with it and will add to my HG

I love this product, I use it on my skin and also on my hair, specially to remove the crunch after my gel dries, it leaves my hair looking healthy and shiny. On the skin it gets absorbed very quickly without a greasy residue. Will definetly buy it again!

I really wanted to love this stuff. I really did. I like the brand, and that it is all natural. I found it expensive for the amount you get but hey- I'm willing to pay extra for quality ingredients. However, this product simply sat on top of my hair. It did not penetrate my dry, thirsty 4b hair at all! In fact, it made my scalp itch and I have EXTREMELY dry hair. So, I think my hair just doesn't like oils as much as butters except a butter is the first ing listed *shrugs*. Two stars for the amazing scent and the fact this product works great as a moisturizer for my skin (I have eczema and need something very heavy and moisturizing). But, for the price I will not purchase this again just to use as a body moisturizer!

I love the scent of this product. It keeps my hair moisturized. I use it both on my hair and skin.

I love the smell of this and have tried several time to use it but it always makes my hair look greasy no matter how much I use and it feels heavy and very producty. Guess it's just too heavy for my fine 2a-3a waves and curls.

Provides great moisture. If you used a shampoo that made your hair dry and the conditioner didn't put moisture back; use this. Mango butter seems to work the best for my hair.

It left my hair a greasy mess. It's not a creamy butter at all, it's like a semi hard grease and just lays on my hair, didn' absorb at all. Will not buy again. I have it a 2 because at least the smell was decent

Really didn't like this. I was psyched to get it after reading all of the reviews, but me and my 3c hair didn't like this so much. It does smell phenomenal- refreshingly citrusy, like fresh, sweet lemonade- but for $22, I'd expect my hair to "act right" after applying it! The ingredients seem so natural and good, but this didn't moisturize as much as it left me greasy. If I used to much, I felt like an oily jheri curl victim; if I used too little, my hair was dry and brittle. Guess I'm the odd one out here...

I really love this product. It's a bit on the pricey side and you have to watch how much you use. I have a lot of hair so I need a lot of product. The smell is a light lemon scent. It moisturizes really well and creates a lot of shine. It defined my 3c/4a curls really well which is a plus!

Not really a huge fan. It did make my hair shiny, but I didn't feel that it was nourished. To be honest, my hair seemed to have more frizz after I used this than before. Maybe I didn't use it right :-/

This works best on semi dry to dry hair (otherwise it may cause a little frizz). Provides a moisture and shine. I use this to seal after using qhemet's burdock root butter cream. I'm only giving it four stars because I'm not sure yet how I feel about the scent (VERY strong lemony smell), but I will definately be purchasing again.

I love this product. It plays well with other products, smells great, is a bagain for the amount of product you get, and is super moisturizing for hair and skin. I sue it to SOTC when I use gels, etc, on 2nd day hair for a moisture/shine boost, and rub a what's left into my cuticles. I cannot praise it enough!

My mom told me about this product and it is very nice on my hair, especially when wet. It smells lovely (my husband loves the smell) and I like that it's made of natural ingredients. However it can leave my hair feeling like it needs something extra so I use this with virgin coconut oil on top and my hair is perfect! Great combo, a wonderful staple.

I love jane carter solutions. All her products work great on my hair, especially Nourish and Shine. It's so moisturizing and it gives my hair a lot of shine.

This product is amazing and it smells incredible. When I put it in my hair, it just glistens. It is a little pricey but it seems that products for natural hair are rather pricey. I bought some at a co-op grocery store and I carry it everywhere I go and I tell everyone who will listen.

I love, love, love this product. I use it with the JCS Hair Nourishing Serum and sometimes with a drop or two of Jojoba oil. It makes my hair so soft and smooth. I stayed at my parent's for a night and left it at home and could see a dramatic difference in my hair as a result. I will never make that mistake again!

Love it, love it, love it!!! I bought it based on the talk here at Naturallycurly.com, and wasn't sure what to make of it at first. Then I used it on my hands and fell in love with the slightly tropical citrus smell! It dried after a few seconds and left my hands feeling soft and smelling great, so I decided that even if it didn't work in my hair it was still worth it. Then I used it to scrunch out the crunch from my gel and became a total convert. It takes just a tiny little bit to smooth frizz and my hair just eats it up (in a good way). I agree with the person who said "finally, something that does what it says it will!" You can't go wrong with this stuff.

I strayed for awhile but I had to come back to the original. It does just what it says it does: nourishes and shines. Perfect daily prep product.

L O V E this stuff. I only wish that I could use it by itself as a styler, which I can't. Nevertheless, I love it as a moisturizer and as a finisher. I absolutely love the smell--in fact, I'll admit that was the main reason I bought it. It's also great for dry, itchy winter skin. It's definitely expensive, but worth it since a little goes a long way, and because it really just makes me feel good. And who can put a price on that?

My hair loves butters and so I was not surprised that this product made my hair look and feel great. My hair was soft and my curls defined and moist with this product. Unfortunately, even though I loved the fragrance, I could not handle it. Otherwise, I'd give it four curls.

This is one of my favorite products. I use it to "scrunch the crunch" after my gel dries, and it's fabulous for smoothing down any flyaway hairs. I was not too keen on the smell either (quite acid). However, this is a good product to control frizz, define curls and add shine. The cream feels very greasy at first, but then it completely melts into the hair with no oily nor crunchy feeling. I would definitely recommend it.

An added bonus is that this product can be used as a moisturizer on dry skin! Not so crazy about the scent but I do love the shine and softness it brings to my curls. I like to use it in combo with a pre-shampoo hot oil treatment.
