This product was sticky and greasy. I couldn't get it though my 3b/c curls. I'm glad it worked for others but for me it felt and performed like a runny, microwaved version of the old school blue magic grease. Yuck.
I didn't know how to use this until I discovered it emulsifies in water. I mix with castor oil or Burdock Root Butter cream and smooth right over my wet conditioner laden hair before cool water rinsing. Leaves a nice protective and moisture retaining film. On dry dirty hair, night before washing, I'll spritz with water and smooth some into hair with KBB Ambrosia before twisting into bantu knots. Instead of washing the next day, I may bun. I use it on the ends of twists. Another high quality Qhemet product.
Out of all the products I love this one the best! It moisturizes my hair so well. I combine with shea butter (helps to deter shea's original smell), AOHC, BRBC or water and this plays well with them. Gives my hair shine and softness. I must say these products have brought my color intensity in my hair up a level. And they make people stop in their tracks checking out my hair. I'm an advocate for Qhemet Biologics aka Queen's Beauty.
Wasn't my fave product but when mixed with the BRBC I got amazing moisture that had my hair feeling soft for days without reapplication.
This product now comes in a jar versus the canister pictured allowing for easier use. Grapeseed oil has been added to the ingredients; which is a plus. I found several uses for this 'balm': use a pea-sized amount as a pomade for dry scalp, use to seal ends and as an overnight or pre-poo treatment. Yes, it's sticky and can be difficult to work with at times due to the honey, but worth the moisturizing benefits and multi-purpose use. One jar will last a while as you don't need to use a lot! I would not recommend this for type 2 or looser 3 hair, but more for 3C and 4s.
I LOVE THIS STUFF! I use it almost every single day. I use it under my leave-in to give extra shine and moisture, I also use it on dry styles such as coil outs. A HG for me
I only used a pea-sized amount on the whole of my shoulder-length hair, but it made my hair greasy and very stringy. I did have a few curls show up, unlike the Sidr Tree Butter Balm. Much better for 4a types.
This just left my hair sticky, but I live in an arid environment. Humectants like honey and glycerin won't work unless the outside air has some humidity. So I'm shelving this until the rainy season.
Great smell, like honey. Nice product to add to other products. Does give me extra frizz, unfortunately. Makes my hair really soft, though.
I was super surprised that using this over time at bedtime has had an effect on the overall softness and shine of my hair. I use a very, very small amount nightly before bed and wow, what a difference it has made.
This product makes my hair feel very soft and supple. It also gives it a nice shine without feeling or looking greasy.
-(4a) I relaxed my hair last night and noticed that this balm penetrates better w/ my relaxed hair then w/ my 3mths worth of new growth. I find it to be very moisturing to my hair, root to ends. So my rating is a two part rating.
-(4a) I don't find this product extremely moisutring. In fact, I find it sticky and it doesn't smell very pleasant.
This was a nice concept, but I think it's way too expensive, when I can just make this at home in my kitchen.
UMMMMMMMMMMM This stuff is great! It made my 3C curls so soft and it was so easy to apply. I love the smell (smells like honey) and it really gave my curls some fabulous definition. And the other reviews are correct, a little goes a long way.
Lots of moisture, for sure! I use it on the driest part of my hair (back canopy) and it delivers softness and moisture. As the others have noted, a little goes a long way!
This is hydration in a bottle. It is a definite must for dry hair,it is very moisturizing. It has a silky consistency, smells great and a little goes a long way.
