I liked this product also before they reformulated it- gives some nice hold to wet hair and is slightly detangling. I also appreciate that they don't use unnecessary and harmful preservatives (i.e. parabens, propylene glycol, dimethicone). I do wish they would use NON-GMO Glyceine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract to be truly healthy- not just for your hair but for the planet and fully extricate themselves from supporting unhealthy and polluting farming practices, both on the physical level for consumers as well as the environmental level, destroying the planet and contaminating organic farms nearby soy and corn fields. I also preferred their previous round-shaped bottles which allowed easier use and more product to come out and not get caught in the rectangular corners. Some customers at the health food store I work at have complained that it's difficult for them to squeeze the bottle if they don't have a firm grip say from carpal tunnel syndrome or rheumatoid arthritis or other muscle-compromising conditions. They repackaged their Vita-Pro fusion to a much smaller bottle with the same price which didn't seem quite right also. However, in general, I do appreciate that they have maintained using clean ingredients and don't do animal testing. Thank you :)
Appearance wise I love the eco-friendly design as well as the easy access to the product. I truly enjoy the organic/vegan ingredients because I try my very best to keep harsh ingredients from my hair and scalp. I would love to give it a 5 but because of my very dense hair I find that it does not cover it all (even though it is pretty thick and creamy) but great smell when applying and very good leave in when I do a wash'n'go. It leaves my hair soft and manageable. Great Product
MY HAIR LOVES THIS!!! and my hair is very stubborn, its really hard for my hair to adjust to something and actually like it. the only issue its a bit harder for me to get it because I like in Canada so its rare up here. they carry the brand but in different products at Target and other stores. the direct leave in is whats hard to find. but when I do find it. I have to stock up, its a great leave in. and any time I do switch for a while, my hair gets so dull and dry...love this stuff<3
I love this stuff! It's somehow lightweight & still moisturizing. A dime-size amount leaves my curls shiny, soft, bouncy, & defined. I use it on my wet hair, right out of the shower.
This product is not for my protein-sensitive hair. At the time I did not realize that aloe vera acts as a protein. My hair would dry to a crunch. It worked well for detangling and from what I remember the slip was alright. I wouldn't try this again.
This stuff is amazing! I would say this is the best leave in I have ever used, which says a lot since I am a self proclaimed product junkie. It has a great consistency without being heavy with a light fragrance. A little really does go a long way. It gave my 3b/c hair lots of moisture and amazing definition. It controls frizz, doesn't weigh hair down, has good slip, and leaves my hair soft and easy to manage. What I love the most is that it can be used on wet and lightly spritzed hair. I would not recommend this on dry hair though.
This product is fantastic! I am currently studying in Asia, so getting products for black hair is rather difficult. However, Giovanni products are great in supply. After the first use , it left my hair soft , shiny and frizz less. When my hair dried i could feel a healthier head of hair .Its a wonderful product which makes my transitioning so much more easier.
Left my hair soft, yet frizzy. It was healthy feeling, but incompatible with many styling agents. Think white clumps, beady splotchy areas and twice the drying time. Won't repurchase but this really isn't a "bad" product. Would consider getting the under $3 sample at Target for throwing it up in a pony tail with maybe a argan, coconut or almond oil sealant.
This is my 3b curls' Holy Grail Leave in product! I had been using mixed chicks leave in for nearly 5 years before trying this product. Giovanni works well with other stylers and keeps my hair moisturized. I love the way this foams in my hair and thoroughly saturates it. I use giovanni direct leave in with olive oil eco styler gel. I get all the way up to 3 day hair. No Flakes, no build up.
This is my favorite leave in. It makes my hair so soft, shiny, and frizz-free. I also get to keep my volume. I have never seen my hair get so shiny and frizz-less with a leave in. I liked it best with a gel, but another cream makes it no bueno (build - up).
Unfortunately I feel like I need to update my last review. I loved this leave in at first but after several uses it made my hair look awful. My hair felt soft, but the look of it wasn't good at all. It was frizzy and sort of stringy. I had lots of fly aways on top, which I have never had in my life. I was so disappointed because I really loved it at first. I still like Giovanni shampoos and conditioners, but the leave in did not do so well.
LOVE, love, love this leave in! I have 3a curls that are prone to frizz & dryness if I'm not using good products. I was beyond impressed with this leave in. It is a fabulous texture: thick but not heavy - it didn't weigh my hair down. It left my hair feeling very soft & moisturized without any heaviness or greasiness. It had a good scent as well. I have used Paul Mitchell "the conditioner" for years, but Giovanni is far superior & a lot cheaper. HIGHLY recommend this leave in. (I also loved Giovanni's avocado & olive oil shampoo & conditioner. Very moisturizing & a good price for being sulfate free.)
LOVE LOVE this product. It's a light leave and provides tons of moisture. It does not weigh down my hair. It smells great. I use it in combination with Shea Moisture Style & Curl Milk or Abba Texturizing Cream. I highly recommend it.
This product made my hair tangled and frizzy. My hair was so unmanageable I would not reccommend it . I am going to stick with shea moisture curl and style milk. My hair type is 2c
My hair did not like this stuff at all, i returned it for a full refund at target. i tried it on wet hair and my hair turned white, tried the way its instructed on the bottle and my hair turned white. i applied my gel and the combo gave me little white balls and very dull, dusty looking curls. This product is not for me, i'm not sure when i will learn to stop deviating from usual SM hair milks or rinse out conditioner as my leave in. I would not recommend to low porosity curlies
my hair is in loooooove with this stuff wow wow, and I just follow up with my vatika coconut oil and my hair feels great! beautiful twist outs; detangles great as well
I love this leave-in!!!!!! After the first use of this product I saw a huge difference in the way my curls behaved. I had way more moisture but not weighed down at all. If you are looking for a good leave in that is light weight this is for you.
This is my current Leave-In and I LOVE it! I use it by itself for my WNGs and my curls are soft, shiny, and defined. I buy these at Target or Wegman's and most times there's a coupon attached to the bottle for $1 off! The scent isn't strong and I love that it's not very thick/heavy.
The ingredients on my bottle say something completely different than what is listed here, with Cetyl Alcohol as the 2nd ingredient and Aloe at #10 on the list, after citric acid, which is used a ph adjuster in VERY small amounts.... I know I am not supposed to leave reviews like this because they throw off the overall rating, but I don't think i want to use this. Taking it back.
I love this leave in! I am able to use it alone, and my curls are soft, moisturized and defined. It has a nice, light scent. Glad I jumped on the bandwagon.
I really love this leave in! My hair is mostly 3c (very dense) and this gives it a really soft hold. I could use it alone or add something else (like Kinky Curly Custard) for a stronger hold. It gives me great 2nd, 3rd, all the way up to 5th day hair when I throw some on after I steam my hair in the shower. My curls look really shiny and bouncy. I saw someone on youtube using it for twistouts, so I am going to try that out too, but haven't gotten around to it. I am pretty confident it will have the same effect on my twistouts. This is definitely going to remain a staple in my hair arsenal. I was using Mixed Chicks leave in which was good (honestly my hair accepts most products well), but this made me shelf that bottle because the results were so much better!
I decided to give KCKT a break and alternate with something new. It took me a few tries to figure out how to use this and what to use after it. The first time I used it I used too much. It felt soapy and there was a lot of white residue. I kept scrunching until it was all absorbed but I knew I had over done it. My hair was really weighed down. The second time I got the amount right but realized I had used too much mousse over it. It took a long time to dry and my hair felt over "done" and kind of gunky. So, the third time was the charm. Yeah, now that I know how to use it and how it plays with others I am a big fan.
I have Type 4 hair a mix of all of them in one head. This product at first made my hair very hard. I then added some olive oil and it worked fine. I find the best use for this is when I have neglected my hair a bit and need some protein in it.
My hair stays moisturized all day long. A great alternative to the KCKT leave in. One of my staples.
This is my holy leave in! It's amazing! Hair is silky, soft, shiny and defines my curls! I will never give this up! The first two ingredients are water and aloe vera juice! Nice..
Wow, I bought this thinking I would replace Knot Today, never again. In no way was this moisturizing to my hair, goes to show that sometimes it pays to shell out a few more dollars for quality.
Wow! I was hesitant to buy this due to how expensive it is for so little, and the fact that it has protein (I use other products with protein and don't want to overdo it...). But it was the only Leave In Conditioner without 'cones at Target so I picked it up. It is my first leave-in, so I have nothing to compare it to but... wow! I have used it three times and already notice a difference. When my hair dries it is much more defined and on the second and even third day without washing my hair is still shiny, soft, untangled, and relatively frizz free! I'm not sure how it would work on its own, since I pair it with some cream and mousse after showering, but it seems to hold its own in the mix!
My hair loves this stuff! I was worried, however, when I put it in my hair and saw what I thought was SOAP. I had to re-read the package a few times to make sure that it wasn't a low-poo or strictly rinse out conditioner. Only 4-Curls as I am still not sold on having so much protein in my hair. My hair is checmically-dyed, so, for now, this product works great! Once I get my hair at the protein levels it needs to be, I may have to rotate this one out of the regimen.
My hair is 3a/3b. I'm not really sure what to make of is product just yet. I co washed my hair today ...and while my hair was still wet...I applied this product in my hair. It freaked me out a bit because it almost felt like I was scrunching with shampoo! It gave it kinda a sudsy feeling and texture....I then looked at my hair to see if there was any " white stuff" like shampoo ...and there was....but I just kept scrunching away and eventually it went away. This product is lightweight and it doesn't weigh my hair down. I'm not sure if this is the best product...it's just ok. Not sure if I will repurchase again. I think my hair needs a more moisturizing leave in.
My hair responds well to this leave in conditioner. Leaves my hair soft, moisturized, and is great for detangling. I follow up with a cream for my twist outs, pure aloe vera, and coconut oil. Great product!
A very good leave-in for a good price that i apply to soaking wet hair and "seal in" the moisture with olive or coconut oil. I will definetely continue using this.
I've been using this product for 5 weeks.. only because its the only leave in conditioner I have, it has to do SOMETHING right? Up until a week ago my hair looked the same after using this and also was a tad bit of an inch moisterized. Was not impressed. After washing my hair I towel dry it a liiiiitle bit, add this, then a moisturizer (cantu deep conditioning leave in cream) then sealed it (olive oil) make a few braids in my hair and wait for it to dry.. when I took my braids down my hair still felt dry but oily.. not cool. Okay Okay! So a week ago I ran out of the cantu moisturizer and decided to buy shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie and coconut oil. Did my same hair hair regimen and voila! my hair was exactly were I wanted it to be. Soft! Soft! Soft! Moral of the story: If this product isn't working for you try switching up the products you use in conjuction with this.
I have 4c hair and I have been using this for 4 weeks. It does make your hair soft but I think this product may be packed with protein. I like it but I am alternate so I can I have good protein and moisture balance. Overall, I think is is a great product for 4c's.
This did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for my hair.. My hair sucked this stuff up and want more... NO GO for my 4b hair!
Really not sure how I feel about this stuff. The first time I used it, I had a horrible experience b/c it was foaming like I had shampoo in my hair. After, my curls wouldn't clump even after I rinsed it out and started my wash and go over with another product. However, when I used it on a small portion of my hair when it was dry, it made it really shiny, and it was soft and pretty nicely curled. Still, it didn't deliver as well the last time I tried it and it doesn't really do anything. I won't be repurchasing this.
Low porosity, fine/medium hair: love this product! Very lightweight, doesn't weigh me down, smells nice, is inexpensive, is mostly natural, doesn't leave build up, and has definitely re-moisturized my hair! I've noticed a marked difference in how my hair feels if I don't use this (hair feels dry, scraggly) so it's a keeper! I would re-buy.
I desperately needed a leave-in conditioner, and picked this up because I got good resuls from their Smooth as Silk shampoo and conditioner a few years ago. My results have been pretty mediocre; it doesn't seem to provide much moisture. I like having a glycerin-free leave-in option, but I don't think this is what I'm looking for.
I love, love this leave,in,conditioner. I use it everytime I wash and style my hair. A little goes a long way, and a dime size can spread through a whole section. It makes hair feel soft and moisturized! Not to mention it's animal cruelty free and organic ingredients. I love it!
This is my HG leave in product, great price, great moisture and amazing slip for easy detangling. It works even better than my products containing silicones. I love this!
I really searched for this product....the price is great but it leaves a white film when used for my wash and gos and I only use about a quarter size
Okay I kept hearing such good things about this leave-in so I decided to try it out. I freaking love this stuff. Lots of slip and my twist out was beautiful, shiny, and moisturized. I highly recommend this product and it plays fair with olive oil eco styler gel.
Good leave-in. Smells nice and provides good slip and moisture. I use it under many different gels with no problems.
my go to leave in. i apply it when hair is damp, starting half way down, and add a light (or mousse) curl product on top.
I really like this, but you have to be careful not to use too much. It's very light, and it doesn't make my hair greasy. If you have thin, fine hair, it might weigh you down. I have thick, fine hair, so it works well for me. It does add shine and makes my hair feel soft and light. It's much better than MANY of the other leave-ins I've found.
Love this! Its a great leave in and I really like that it is SO light! Lets my hair be bouncy :)
This is a decent leave in conditioner as long as you have a really good rinse out conditioner underneath to prep for this. I tried it one day with a rinse out conditioner and had awesome results and then I tried it without a rinse out and had not so great results. I find that it does not have great slip when used alone, however I do find it comparable to the Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave In. So if i had to choose, I would buy this for 7 bucks rather than pay 22 for Ouidad.
I purchased this as I was transitioning from relaxed to natural. I didn't quite like it until I got 3 months worth of new growth. It made my relaxed ends feel over saturated & limp, but it worked wonders for my new growth. This is one of my favorite go to products, although I don't use it as much as I should. I have no cons, because it is just so amazing. Great for detangling & moisturizing fragile edges. Don't use when hair is completely dry, as it won't be as effective.
Great leave in will always be a go to leave in..very dependable. Very moisturizing and makes gives so much slip! Will always be a fave of mine.
Great leave in will always be a go to leave in..very dependable. Very moisturizing and makes gives so much slip! Will always be a fave of mine.
The ingredients listed here are incorrect. Rosemary used to be the second ingredient but now it's aloe. This used to be my HG, I would only need this and some KCCC and my hair would look great. But they changed the ingredients and it leaves my hair dry and producty. I think it's a waste of money now.
This is the best product to use as a daily conditioner. I have a twa with 3b/3c mix and this works very well at moisturizing and defining my curls. I mix it with coconut oil and my twa looks great! It looks like soft baby curls. This works extremely well on my daughters hair as well, same texture as mine, just way longer. Detangling her hair used to be dreadful but this has really worked wonders. I find that her twist last alot longer too.
I love this leave-in! I have 4A hair, and am 3 1/2 months strong into my transition. When I apply this leave-in, it makes my hair soft, smooth, shiny, and gives it a slickness that helps with detangling. I use it for my hair and my daughter's without any problems. It does not flake, though when you apply it, it creates a sudsy-like solution (almost like a conditioning setting lotion). As your hair dries, the suds disappear and you are left with gorgeous hair!! I like that it is a natural product and it is helping my hair be its best for a reasonable price.
After product after product, I have finally found my staple leave-in conditioner! It glides over my curls so smoothly and quenches my thirsty hair perfectly for all day moisture. I love the fact that it leaves my hair touchable and soft without leaving a residue on my fingers. It has a very light citrus scent that is not at all overpowering. I like to use it right after my co-wash or on freshly washed hair. It works best for me that way, especially with my hair being so thick that it responds to products best when it is slightly damp. I love this product and how it make my hair feel so silky as I am applying it throughout my hair. It's my staple for sure!
This is a great leave-in. It has protein in it, so it doesn't work for everyone's curls. But it defines my curls, and keeps my curls moisturized all day.
Hate this leave it. It left white flakes I'm my hair and trust me I did not use a lot of this product. I think that this product works for the 3's and 4a's. For us 4c girls I don't think it will work. Get that Knot today girls!
I'm currently in my 8th month of transitioning and I don't love this product. It doesn't help detangle my hair and doesn't make it any softer. I loves the price though.
Really good stuff. I'm able to use this as my styler, with no other products. It can leave a slight white residue when too much is used, but then I just take my thumb and finger and gently "smush" the curl where the white residue is until it disappers. Although, I've never had the residue on my entire head...maybe gently blotting with a paper towel or something while hair is still wet would help?
It makes detangling your hair super easy and pain free. However, if you use too much product it will leave white residue. Therefore, a little goes along way. This is a good leave-in overall.
I love this product! I do have to use it with other hair styling products to get better results but it very light and my hair doesn't feel heavy! And a great price! I love this product
I tried to like this but it keep leaving white residue. It felt like it was just sitting on my hair and never really absorbing.
This product is lightweight and smells amazing; however, it can make my 3c/4a hair a bit crunchy when it dries and it causes added shrinkage.
I can't really decide if I like this. It doesnt seem to work for me. Sometimes It leaves a little white on my hair, and i dont even use a lot. other times my hair will frizzy (even if i use a gel). I'll try using more, and if that doesn't work then I'll just use it at night / mixed with water for a refresher.
I wanted to join the club of curlies who LOVE this. And I tried... but I can't. For me, it only worked when used in conjunction with other moisturizers on top. When used alone, it gave my curls great definition, but left a dry, crunchy film on them. Basically, I love the stuff until my hair dries... It has a great ingredient list and I think the price is acceptable, but I'd rather have a leave-in that I don't have to use with something else. For that reason, I say it's average.
Use this every once in a while and it always makes my hair look great. As with all products on my hair, I find a little goes a long way. Barely scented either for those of you who don't like heavy perfumes.
Favorite! I couldn't ask for a better leave in. The reason I use Giovanni shampoo and conditioners is because I started with this leave in and loved it so much.
I don't like this at all. When I tried to come through my hair with this in it, it turn into a layer of white film on top of my hair and did not go away, even when i scrunched this product in it did this.
I have very tight 4A hair and this is my FAVORITE leave-in. A little goes a long way and it's multi-purpose. I use it like a traditional leave-in after washing/conditioning. I also use it as a spritz diluted with water and oil to refresh my twists or braids, I use it when I'm dry-styling and as a pre-poo as needed. It keeps my coarse hair super soft.
It smells good and moisturizes well, and I'm always happy to find cruelty-free, organic products at a decent price, but when I use it with Confixor (my HG gel from Aveda), I get crunchy curls, and I don't think I'm using that much. I even tried putting coconut oil (which I normally only put on my ends at night) between the conditioner and gel, but I still get crunchy curls. I'll continue to use up the product, but I won't repurchase.
This is definitely my Holy Grail. I actually start to panic if I'm running low on this product. I can do so many things with this product. One way is use this as a leave in with coconut or castor oil as a sealant. The second way is to use it in place of knot today under my kinky curly. This product leaves my hair soft shiny with lots of bouncy curls. I never leave home without it. Love, Love, Love it.
I am in love with this product. Usually I just use my conditioner as a leave-in, but as the weather got hotter and more humid I noticed I needed some more weight/moisture. This leave in really works great for my 3b curls- it's light weight and very silky. Most of the time I put about a quarter size dollop in and scrunch some gel over that. However, on a nice day (no rain/low humidity) I can simple put the leave-in in for a more relaxed, loose curl. Try this!! You won't be disappointed.
I'm going to give Direct Leave-in a 3. Why? It has natural oils which is very good, no silicones, proteins or sulfates. The only problem I had was detangling. It worked ok for me, but not as well as the Smooth as Silk Xtreme Protein pack. That put the funk in I'm a detangling guru! Funk in a good way and plus my hair was smooth as silk, but it does contain one silicone - Dimethicone in it. But I still recommend it. The DLI however was white on my hair when first applied, but after rubbing it in more and more the hair sucked it up. A good conitioner or leave-in for the value. Giovanni has good products.
I like this for the most part, but have shelved it until the dew points get higher. I don't think my hair likes the protein or panthenol in it, especially in the winter.
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!! I went off of the reviews and ordered this from Vitacost, as a reviewer said its cheaper...THIS LEAVE IN IS AMAZING! I have 3 a-b hair, but its fine, so have needed a good leave-in for quite some time without it weighing my hair down. This does the trick. It smells nice, and just about a dime amount for my shoulder lenght hair works great. Will order this again and again! Highly recommend. I have used so many other products that say they are for curly hair specifically, but this product works fantastically! You wont be disappointed!
This is such a nice, lightweight leave-in for my 3a hair. curls are soft and touchable and look so healthy! This is going to be my new go-to and it's not greasy-feeling so if there's too much rain (in Oregon? No!) just a little extra won't hurt a thing!
3b - fine texture: Love this leave-in. Not heavy. Doesn't coat my hair like some do. Nice subtle scent. However, I cannot use it in the summer due to humidity problems where I live. Makes my hair soft, shiny and bouncy.
This product comes and goes for me -- sometimes my hair is extra-soft and moisturized, sometimes it's just so-so. It's not my first choice, but it's a reliable and economical standby.
I really wanted to like this. But it left my hair dry and frizzy. The square bottle it comes in is also difficult to use.
Am I the only one who doesn't like this? It sucked moisture from my hair and was somehow sticky and dry. Didn't seem to get different results no matter what I tried changing (amount, products used with, application). Could have been worse though.
Great lightweight leave in! Works great when followed up with Fantasia IC gel. I get great 3 day hair and my hair and it hold ups pretty well in humidity.
This product is always reliable. I try other styling products but I always end up coming back to this one. The price is right, I can find it locally, and it is the perfect weight for my short w/long layers/3b curls. Two things that make it 4 curls instead of 5: after a few months of daily use, it seems to stop working as well, so I have take a break from it; and sometimes it dries a bit crunchy (but generally can be scrunched out fine). I wouldn't say it's HG for me, but it's pretty close.
I tried this after hearing all the great reviews.I am on day three of trying this as my leave in and I love the results. My hair is not frizzy but not weighed down. My hair is happy, shiny and has movement/body. I always get the itch to put my hair up in the morning but with this I keep it down. It's very impressive... detailed review: http://www.limitlessm.com/2014/06/curly-hair-resources-taming-beast.html
I love this stuff. I've used it for years. Recently I started mixing it with organic coconut oil and I don't need anything else to make my hair soft and shiny. This has replaced all my styling products. I apply it when wet so when its dry it's soft and touchable, no oily residue from the coconut oil. If you are on a curly girl routine, you may need to shampoo or low poo once a month or so, as it can cause build up if you use too much.
THE best leave in conditioner EVER!! It's not heavy, smells awesome, and is SO affordable. I can't believe it has taken me this long to use this!
Love this stuff! Great product and light so it doesn't weigh down your hair. No build-up or flaking and it was really easy to find locally (Ulta or Vitamin Shoppe). I would definitely recommend this and it has become a new HG product!
I am a relentless curly-haired woman. If I hate a hair product, I want my money back end of story. I will send a product right back if it's not worth my hard earned money. It can't just be a good product, it has to be something I can add to my "essentials list" or "can't live without list". With that said, I just tried this l-in today and I think it's safe to say I am in love. The smell, the lightness, the texture, the ingredients -not to mention the curls I'm sporting today! This is a wonderful product and I will never look at another l-in the same :O) And to think I wasn't even interested in buying any of Giovanni's products, they made a fool out of me.
This product is heaven scent. I honestly didn't know leave-in conditioners could be creamy ... creams (lol) and not just non-moisturizing liquids until I picked up this product almost 8 months ago. No matter how I use it - alone, mixed with DevaCurl's B'Leave-In (Direct's the ONLY product I've found that makes DC's B'Leave-In actually workable and wearable), mixed with Terax's Life Drops or underneath a heavier curl creme - it just works. My hair gets the moisture it needs without any of the bad stuff. I recommend this product immensely! I also recommend buying ALL Giovanni products at vitacost.com. They sell the entire line for like 1/2 off (as a rule, not as a promotion) and the shipping is super quick and reliable.
I used this product for the first time tonight and I'm completely hooked. If I can duplicate these amazing, shiny, bouncy, clumpy curls tomorrow, I may just drive to the store tomorrow and buy a case of bottles just in case they stop making it. I used about a teaspoon's worth in my below-the-shoulders, very thirsty, 2b/3a curls, with no other gel or cream. I used it after washing my hair with Trader Joe's Nourish conditioner and squeezing out most of the water. By the way, the consistency and fragrance of the Giovanni actually seems very similar the TJ's product, so I'm going to experiment with that as a leave in as well and see how they compare.
I am in the middle of using this for the first time, and I already love it. Like others said, it IS light but moisturizing, so you don't need much. I used 3 dollops, and can already tell I could/should use less. BIG keeper as far as leave-ins are concerned, and I have tried tons.
This is my favorite leave-in. It's not watery, but not too thick that it weighs down my hair. It's the perfect consistency for my hair, and my hair LOVES it. It works great in humidity, which is a big plus for a mid-westerner!
I am a harsh critic-- but this product is AMAZING. My curls love this product. My curls are left so moisturized( but not weighed down), defined, and frizz-free. One thing though-- I already have naturally thick hair with volume. This adds lots of extra volume, which I could do without. However, for those of you with limp curls, it would be amazing.
It's amazing to me how something so light can be so moisturizing. Perfect if you don't like alot of weight. All natural so it will mix well w/other organic products. This was my first HG. I always come back to it from time to time. It has served me well! I
This is my holy grail, #1 favorite leave-in product. Used in conjunction with Innersense's Quiet Calm cream and Sweet Spirit spray, it gives my 2B/3A hair great curl formation--not just waves. And unlike most other leave-ins (like Aveda Elixir), it is not too heavy for my fine hair, as long as I don't overdo it and use too much product. It never leaves my hair weighed-down, sticky, crunchy, or dirty-looking. Plus, it's cruelty free and made with natural products.
Excellent Leave In Conditioner and Styler. I have thick, tight curls and this is the only product I use; it melts into my hair and detangles it instantly while providing great curl formation and hold and softness. I've been using it over a year and buy mine from Wild Oats or my local health food co-op.
Sometimes, this is the bomb and sometimes, it's just too much. There may be too many oils in the conditioner for me to use on a regular basis.
This is the best leave-in that I've found so far. I use it under moisturizing, styling creams that don't mix well with oils.
This product is ok. It's not the worst leave-in and it's not the best. I found it sticky, but it smelled ok.
Important to note that I am rating this based on how it worked without a styler. It was too light for me, not all of my curls formed and I had some fly-aways. But it smelled nice, detangled nicely, and I liked it well enough to use up the bottle.
