Kink-Curly reformulated this product. The new ingredients list reads as follows:soybean oil, jojoba oil, meadowfoam oil, grapeseed oil, pomegrante oil, avocado oil, safflower oil, sweet alomond oil and cherry kernel oil with natural fragrance. This use to be one of my favorite products, it use to soften my hair no matter what product was in it. Now, it adds shine and that's about it. Doesnt even get the crunch from the curling custard out.The only thing better about this reformulation is the smell. Why kinky-curly........why?

I use just a tiny bit of this product to my fine hair just to tame some frizz. I do not like that I have to rub this on to my hands really well cause if you don't then you will get hard pieces of the pomade stuck on to your hair. But other than that, this pomade works well and it smells great too.

I really like that when i scrunch out the crunch with this pomade it doesn't disturbe my curls by having a sticky producty feeling in my hand and hairs getting stuck in my hands it is actually all natural oils. I love that it is small i can keep it my purse so around lunch time my hair is dry i can go SOTC. Most pomades are really hard and you have to circle your finger around to get some out not this its soft like butter. The smell isn't bad but then again Lemon bars are my favorite dessert, but i still smell the KCCC under it the most. By adding this product to my regimen i can have 2nd and 3rd day hair without having to rewet/touchup or add any other products the next day!!! - 3b-c, Med. porosity, Med-course texture, Thick density.

It worked great in my hair and tamed all my frizzes but the downside to it was the smell. It made my hair smell like butter. I tried to ignore it but it was unbearable.

I think this product smells bad. It does the trick in getting the crunch out, but so does a dose of jojoba oil or castor oil or any oil that doesn't smell so bad. This pomade is mostly oil anyway. I'm only giving it 3 stars because it stinks to high heaven and is really not a necessity.

Offers a bit of shine & hold but not a whole lot. Good product though. Very nice finisher though I wish a bit more of both properties were delivered.

I just bought this at target and I have never found 2nd day products to be legit before. You should get both this and the spiral spritz. It seemed expensive but you only use a tiny bit. I have bought every curl product in existence including all of the Ouidad and DevaCurl stuff and been to both of their NY Salons. I did not use the curl custard, I had actually used Curly Sexy hair on the first day, but I put a little of this on when my hair dried and it looked great! The next morning when I woke up, I mixed a little of this pomade in my hand with the kinky curly sprial spritz (which is really like a gel type liquid and I have no clue why it is in a spray bottle) but my hair looked like it does when it just dries the day I wash it- and that NEVER happens on the second day. I have type 3B hair- I also live in Florida and it is summer and about 98% humidity and it still worked!!

Just from the look of the result it gave it was what I always wanted a pomade to do. Perfect. But smell is another matter. It does smell like butter, strong enough to hang around all day and night until I washed in the next morning. It made me feel nauseus and self conscious. I wasn't even using the pomade for a year because of it. Then I decided to add lavender oil to it. But it didn't help. Now it was butter and lavender, blegh. So I added more lavender. Later I opened the tin to use it, and it smell all metallic. Lavender and metal. So I threw it away. Maybe it's a good idea to put it into a plastic jar... But I wouldn't repurchase anyway. Price too high for measely 2oz. I'd use it up way too fast.

ths is a great styling aid, I use this with kinky curly gel and it reduces the crunchy feel of my curls. I am a 3c and these products provide maximum curl defintion.

I've been using the Kink-Curly Custard and Knot today for about six months but recently tucked it in the back of the cabinet because I wasn't happy with the crunchies and shrinkage my hair was getting (I looked like I had a dry Gheri-Curl so yeah, that's not wusup). I had heard and read good things about the pomade so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did because it left my hair much softer and the crunchies disappeared. But the only thing I'm not feeling with this product is the smell. It has this weird lemon smell and it reminded of furniture polish and it seems like I smelled it all day. It's not overpowering and it wouldn't keep me from buying this product again (that's the reason for the 4 curls). A little bit went a long way so don't look at the price and then the size because it will last a while.

I use this after my kcnt and the kccc and this pomade really helps reduce the frizz that's still in my hair after applying my products, it leaves my curls so soft and bouncy! the smell isn;t that great, but it isn't that bad either, tolerable! kinky curly products are my HG'S...I cannot be without them ;-)

While this product is fantastic for touch-ups..the fragrance lingers in the slightest way..and it's not pleasant. It does not smell lemony in my opinion, as others have said, but a very dirty, strong smell. 2 curls off for that. I wish this product came unscented because it is fantastic. I now use a bit of lavender, or rosemary oil to mask the scent. I have 3b, low porosity hair and this stuff definitely penetrates and makes my hair soft, and frizz free. I definitely recommend this product, but if you end up reacting to the scent in a similar fashion, try to use your favorite essential oil with it.

I found this pomade one of the best! It only takes a small amount to give your hair just a touch of shine and a great finish for your style (smooth those fly-aways). It helps to fluff out the curls from the KCCC after drying and has just a touch of fragrance but not too much that you will be distracted by the smell of it all day. The little pot is handy for slipping in your purse and the ingredients are all natural. You can't get better than that!

I like this product and bought it for $10 from Whole Foods too. I used it with the Knot Today conditioner and loved it. My hair was so soft it was unbelievable. I went and bought two more tins as it worked great for me to braid my hair without all of the frizz. I wear a single inverted braid down the center of my head to work and this was great for smoothing.

I really liked this on my hair, it gave me softness and shine, it lost a curl though because you get 2oz for $10 at the wholefoods I bought it from, doubt I'll buy it again, not a good amount for the price

I actually use this to seal my ends after applying the curling custard. Shea butter is too heavy and straight up oil is too light. This is perfect. Not sure if I care for the lemony scent (I wish it smelled like the custard) but it's subtle. $7.00 is a bit much for this tiny little pot, but look @ the ingredients, absolutely no beeswax or anything else that will give you trouble when you wash your hair (this is especially important if you no-poo or low-poo).

This stuff is great. I use it to de-crunch my hair on the days I get a little overzealous with the KCCC, and end up with gorgeous, soft, shiny curls. Also, when I do twists or braids, I use this prior to twisting/braiding and my hair is shiny the next day. Easy to travel with and smells fresh!

I've never really used anything besides my hands to scrunch out the crunch before, but I saw this stuff at Whole Foods and decided to buy it when I bought my other Kinky-Curly stuff. I rub a tiny little bit in my hands before I SOTC, and I've noticed that it makes my curls nice and shiny and cuts down on frizz. The only problem so far is the smell...I've heard other people describe it as a lemony smell but once it goes on my hair it can best be described as smelling like...butter or something. Or like buttery popcorn. Not a terrible smell, just one I'm not used to smelling on my hair.

I don't usually like pomades because they are generally sticky and cause a lot of buildup. But this is different! It is a must-have, especially if you use the KC Curling Custard. I apply it over the custard once my hair has dried. It melts into my handa and into my hair. It smells great and isn't oily if you use it sparingly.

Love the pomade. Have not tried it as an old school grease, yet, but it works beautifully for laying down any developing freeze on day 2 and beyond. Leaves hair soft and shinny.

I love the fact that Kinky-Curly products are all natural and really nourish the hair. I don't know about styling and finishing but I used this as an old school "grease".Not too heavy, smells like lemon, soft shiny hair. Container is very small so you can only get four or five greasings out of this. That is why it only gets 4 curls.
