I love this leave-in conditioner! I've been using it for years now, and am very happy with it. It is very moisturizing and creates soft and shiny curls. It is very good at curl defining, and can be used under a gel without feeling too heavy. LOVE THIS PRODUCT.
I am really liking it so far this was my first day using it. I have 3b hair and it gave great definition. My hair has always been on the fine side but this product makes my hair very big and just amazing. Be sure not to use too much !
This product was my intro to using a leave-in conditioner. I really like this product but if I use this I have to wash my hair more frequently or else it gives me buildup and weighs my hair down. The bottle is a bit pricy but it lasts a long time. The smell isn't bad either.
This product actually does pretty well for my hair depending on how long it's been since I've had a haircut. It works great up to 5 or 6 weeks after a cut. It keeps frizz down since I live in a very humid area and it keeps my dry hair moisturized. My hair is also highlighted it seems to keep my hair looking quite healthy. After the 6 week period my hair tends to be much drier and this product does very little at that point. I've yet to find a product that really helps. I use this as a styling cream as well as a leave in and as of now, it's my go-to product. It doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy or crunchy like other products have. I have low porosity, high density, long, 2b-2c hair.
I use to rave about how this use to be my one and only staple. Until one day I looked at pictures and had realized how dry it made my hair over time! extremely disappointing. product junkie back in effect as of today. oh and I used mixed chicks for about 7 months.
This product works wonders for my curls. It defines, defrizzes, moisturizes, and provides long lasting hold all in one step! I use it on both freshly cleansed and conditioned hair as well as throughout the week until my next wash day comes around. The smell of this product is okay. It's not the best, nor is it the worst. I am not on the CG Method, so I don' t have a problem with the ingredients that are in this product at all. Because it works so well for my curls, I definitely plan to continue buying it. Yes, it is pricey for one bottle. However, I am willing to pay the price nonetheless. I have gone through a lot of trial and error when it comes to finding the right products for my curls. And, I have found a lot of success with the Mixed Chicks line.
Initially upon first using this leave-in, I was sorely disappointed. But I kept seeing this product pop up everywhere so I decided to do some more research on how to better utilize the product. And let me tell you, YOU MUST USE THE RIGHT SYSTEM FOR THIS PRODUCT TO WORK. Before, I was like the majority of other people who left reviews here and I got the same results as them. So I got samples of the other mixed chick products and added my own deep conditioner into the system, then put the leave-in on my hair and pinned it in sections over night. So I used the deep conditioner, the shampoo & the leave-in & I woke up with lovely, soft, manageable hair with nicely formed curls. When you don't use this product the right way, it will produce lackluster results. This product is also super dense, so a little bit goes a LONG WAY. A lot of people here are complaining about it leaving their hair sticky/flaky with residue, this is because too much product is probably being used. I have a TON of hair and only needed 2 quarter size amounts to double coat my whole head. It has a slightly coco butter scent, which isn't too bad. The system balances out everything so that it strips your hair of everything and adds a heap of moisture and definition, so without the proper enrichment, you're not going to get all the benefits from this product. So choose carefully and be ready to have all supplements necessary if you're going to invest in this pricey leave-in. It's a great alternative if you don't want to use foam/gels anymore to revive your curls.
Took me a while to figure out how to use the Mixed Chicks line but I am glad I did. First of all, I love the smell of this leave in and find that a little goes a long way - if you apply too much it make your hair sticky and be counter intuitive. I love the definition it gives my curls.
I used this for a long time, about 2 years now. At first I liked it a lot, but as time went on I noticed how my hair still got pretty frizzy and dull by the 2nd day. My ends would be dried out by the 3rd day. It seemed like there was a lot of buildup. So I'm not going to use it anymore.
I've been using this for 5 years now. Everytime I try a new product, I keep coming back to this leave in. I can't use gel or mousse on my hair. I have 2c, 3A and mostly 3B hair with low porosity, high density, fine to medium texture hair. That equals 3 heads of hair and it looks like it. This leave in definitely tames the frizz and defined all the waves and curls. It does create build up so I have to shampoo 3 times a week.
I used this in my daughters hair worked fine for a while. Then I noticed as the conditioner dried there went the cute curls.
Finally, a non-gel styler that works as a wash and go. I have really coily, highly porous hair that I'm guessing is a mix of 3b/4a and I always thought that my hair was just too kinky to ever do a wash and go without a gel. Well, I had an appointment today for a curly hair cut and my stylist only used this and a bit of Deva Curl Mirror curl and sat me under the hooded dryer. I was soo nervous that i would come out with a big, afro with no definition and boy was I wrong! My hair was super soft and my curls were popping. I got caught in the snow on my way to the car and only have minimal frizz (I'm okay with frizz though). The only downside I can foresee is the lack of hold. I work out 6-7 days a week so it'll be interesting to see how this holds up with regular sweating. But right now, I'm loving it!
My mom always used Mixed Chicks when I was younger and when I went natural I wanted to see if it worked as good for me. 1st time: NO GO! I didn't work it in like I'm suppose to. All the times after that I've gotten on and off results, but for the most part wonderful leave in! Update: I now get wonderfully defined and moisturized curls every time I use this! Definite repurchase
My fluffy, thirsty 3a curls loved Mixed Chicks leave-in conditioner. Sadly, my scalp reacted very poorly, and so I can't give a full 5 stars or keep this in the rotation. This leave-in really gives good moisture and definition to curls with a medium amount of hold. I would generally apply and scrunch through wet curls after conditioning for wash and go, but I also found it pretty effective for refreshing my curls and 2nd day hair. No other product has worked as well on my curls, but I'll have to keep hunting to find one that doesn't make my scalp an itchy mess!
Leaves me and my daughters hair flakey. If I don't put an oil in my or something moisturizing it leaves it dry. I want to find a leave-in that has less chemicals as possible, but works well with my other products, because you can't mix it with to many products, it leaves it sticky and gummy.
This product works..okay I guess. Someone recommended this to my mom to buy for my hair, but after trying it out is isn't all that amazing. Instead of using it as a leave in, I use it as a styler. When it goes onto wet hair it gives decent curl definition and when it dries initially it feels moisturized. However, if you use too much of it the hair could feel crunchy and after a few hours my hair feels severely dry.
I love this product. I have been using it for several years now as my go to leave in conditioner. It replaced a serious "regimen" of using a detangler, leave-in, and oil after shampoo. I've read the reviews and most of the points are very valid. I have a lot of experience with this product. 1st, it is not for all hair types. I'd say 3b is as far as it goes. And if your hair is thicker it will simply suck up the product and your hair will be dry. I say that because I used it for my niece and it just wasn't the right product for her thick 4B hair. 2nd, your hair needs to be soaking wet when you use it and you have to know the right amount to use. I experimented a lot with it to get my hair just the way I wanted it. To much and your hair can get hair and heavy. Too little it's dry and frizzy. It's a great product for the right kind of hair. I think the name says it all…. honestly.
I was excited when someone gifted me this product since I've heard many good reviews on this brand. I was SO disappointed after using this product. I don't think my hair has ever been that dry & crispy after using a leave-in. It was horrible. I had to re-wash my hair to restore my moisture.
So many different feelings on this conditioner.... First, it's not a thick product. I needed that because I have thin, fine hair. When putting it on, I feel like I use a ton but I really don't. Second, the smell isn't too bad. A little floral, but it sort of smells like sunscreen. I don't mind it, it doesn't stay once its dry. Once my hair was dry....woah. My roots haven't had this kind of curl in awhile! I really loved the shape it gave my hair. One minor issue is how crunchy my hair is after its dry. But the best part...it gave me FOURTH DAY HAIR. This is unprecedented for me. People were still complementing me four days after a wash. It gets three stars because the line is vegan/cruelty free, so you'd expect them to not use parabens either, but they do. I'll still use it once a week. Definitely recommend.
MY HAIR tangled and started falling out !!!! I didn't believe it so about I tried it again a couple of months later... because I paid $30 for the poo and conditioner. And, again my hair tangled badly.... I throw them both in the trash!!!
I love, love, LOVE mixed chicks. I used to use their children's shampoo and conditioner, but I had to switch to a more volumizing formula made for fine hair. I do continue to use their leave-in though, and my hair would be a complete mess without it. It provides the perfect base for my other products.
I really like it. My hair looks shiny, but does not feel greasy after it is applied. The big thing is that your hair must be WET when you use it. I think it retains some of the water from the application. My hair is thin, so I have to fluff it up after it dries.
I really like this product as it leaves really soft and beautiful curls once you break the cast by scrunching your hair when it is totally dry. When it is drying you have to put up with some crunchiness but as the result on completely dry hair is beautiful it's a small price to pay for lucious curls. I don't really like the fact that silicone is the third ingredient though....
It's not exactly worth it for the price. It does not moisturize, it has a bad smell, and it leaves product buildup. But it does give your good definition.
Mixed Chicks is my go to my fix it my make everything better definer. I love me some mixed chicks. Nothing knows my hair like mixed chicks.
It's ok. Keeps your hair moisturized but it weighs my hair down so much. Pretty much feel like I wasted $20 on this.
This is great!!!! When I put this in my hair it has a great smell and it is soft and silky. It works with my kind of hair. If you ever watched Shamelessmaya on youtube that is a perfect example to look at mmy hair.
I love this so far. I'm still trying to figure out what products work well with my newly natural hair and this is one of them.!
I've been using this for 9 months now. I love everything about it.I have 3b/3ctype hair and it gives me the moisture I need. I love that it's a leave in because rinse outs don't give me the moisture or detangle near as well. It's lightweight so there's not much buildup and I'm able to use any styling products I want. It also lasts a very long time because you don't need to use much. I tried three different products and none of them lasted before I switched back to mixed chicks. Definitely recommend it.
I have given this product 6 tries, yes 6 hoping for better results. Unfortunately it did not meet the task required. Left my hair immensely dry although defined (on day 1 only). I'm not sure why this is considered a "conditioner" as it seems to work in the opposite direction. There are too many other options out there to settle on the results and price.
I think this product works best for me as a styler. It did not provide me the needed moisture that my hair needs, but it is sort of light enough as a styler to not weigh it down too much. I don't really have to have this product in my arsenal, but I had to try it.
Looks amazing when u first apply it to the hair. The texture really smooths the curls and enlongates them without flattening them too much..but when it dries it causes a little bit of shrinkage and dosnt really make the hair feel moisturised.. Used products that are alot worse but for the price I expected better from mixed chicks. The only other positive is that it smells quite nice.
I take it back...I gave it a just ok review a few months ago. Then my first natural winter arrived. What I was once raving about (Giovanni's Leave-In would just sit on my hair) and give it a sticky, weighted feel. My hair was getting parched due to the dry winter air. So I pulled out my bottle of Mixed Chicks for a change of pace. Low and behold it has worked like a charm. It has been giving me a nice soft hold with moisture. I use a little MC, then Kinky Curly Custard (like a dime) and then oil. I literally can go 2 weeks with just steaming in the shower and a touch of MC and oil every few days. So I have come to the conclusion that this is perfect for my hair in the winter, not sure why, but I'll take it!
Hair type: mixed, 3C/4A. Liked the Mixed Chicks line a lot at first, but have since moved on. In general, the Mixed Chicks line left my hair overburdened/heavy with product, with too much crunch and too little volume. This is a decent leave-in, but be careful in the amount you use. I did like it as a daily spritzer, though. Use a little in a spray bottle with water. But no matter how much I used (a little to a lot), I still wound up with frizzies the next day.
The first time I got my hair cut by a real curly hair guru she mixed this conditioner with Kinky Curly Curl Custard and made my hair look totally awesome, so of course I had to have it. It is light and I don't mind the smell. It took a while to figure out how much to use on my hair because it gets kind of crunchy and greasy if I put too much in. But it does work well for scrunching. I still have about half the bottle left and I'm definitely happy to keep using it as my leave in until its done, but I'll probably buy something different after its done just to compare.
I've tried the entire mixed chicks regime and for me this product was the saving grace of the collection. I applied this after shampoo and conditioner to my wet hair and it was able to hold and define my curls without weighing them down - no other product necessary. It is a bit pricey, but you don't need to use much, so the bottle does last a while. Not a fan of the smell though, and although it defined my curls, it left my black hair colour flat, almost greyish. Overall it does the job, but I don't think its anything special. I've moved on to Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Nectar and find this works much better for me (and has a much better scent).
This stuff works well for my hair but my problem is that when you pay $18 for a hair product, it should have top ingredients in it and not everything that curly girls are suggested not to buy. Aka: crap ingredients. Silicones, parabens, chemicals, no. And it doesn't smell great either. So honestly this works alright but I could get 3 much better products for the price of this one product so I wouldn't recommend this.
I can't believe this only has 3 curls. I have a lot of 3C hair and I was looking for something better than mousse to define my curls for more than a day--this is it. I applied it the same way as Wendi in the Mixed Chicks videos (I can't find it again, so I'll describe it). I rang my hair in the shower before applying. Then, I split it into four sections and worked in a bit less than a quarter-sized amount for each section, adding extra around my face. Normally, I use a ton of styling product, but I read reviews that this can get crunchy, so I proceeded with caution. When I worked it in, I repeatedly combed my fingers through each section, which distributed the product into the water in my hair and also got my curls in sync. Then I twisted the section I was working on until the extra water came out. At the end, I turned my head to the ground and scrunched my curls delicately and then let it air dry. Later I elongated my shorter curls with blow dryer on high heat and low air, focusing on the roots. Took 3 minutes. Great for shaping. This is by far the best my curls have ever looked. It's expensive, but you don't need to use a lot, even if you have a lot of hair like I do. I used this yesterday and I hardly wet my hair today and it looks great. Not at all crunchy and it doesn't smell like anything. (The leave-in conditioner in the bottle smells significantly less inviting than the awesome-smelling shampoo and conditioner.) I was considering a keratin treatment, but the stylist recommended that I could loosen my curl a little with the right product. He recommended this and I'm so glad I spent the money. No more trying new products and hoping.
This works just fine on my hair, but I don't think it is outstanding by any means. I like my products to have a simple ingredient list, and if it doesn't it better be outstanding. This is just good. I use it sparingly because since there are so many ingredients and I like to wash my hair once every 1.5-2 weeks, I want to avoid buildup. Generally, I use it to touch up 2nd-5th day hair. It does provide a very soft hold and does keep the hair moisturized. You really have to make sure you don't lather it on like you can with other leave-ins. I am not sure it is worth the price in quality considering how many fabulous products are out there for curlies (the quantity does go a long way for me). I have giovannis leave in (which also has a lot of ingredients but is amazing) and I prefer that one so much more that MC is going into the reserve as a backup. I can easily see this being way too heavy for wavy hair for those looking.
Over all its a nice leave in conditioner. Gives good curl definition, but feels crunchy and leaves a lot of build ins that are hard to wash off, it also leaves the hair very stiff wont be buying this product any more. But it worked really well on my sisters 3a curls!

The leave-in, at first, was amazing. My curls defined in a way I have never seen before and it was flawless. Unfortunately my scalp would become extremely itchy, which has never happened before. So I looked at the ingredients and it was the amodimethicone that was the culprit, I have very sensitive skin so even though this works well, I'm knocking it a curl down. Besides, it smells of bathroom cleansing products.
I did expect more from this product. I think my hair is 3c/4a and it did NOT define my curls well. It also feels a bit greasy when it dries on your hair. A bit wax-like stickyness. I think this product could be better on less curly hair.
Used this under my Jane Carter and I loved it!! My hair was still soft the next day and all I had to do was spritz it with some water. My 3c/4a curls still had definition.
This product works great on my daughters 3b, but I tried this product on my 4a/4b hair and it did define my coils, but it also dried my ends and made them really hard. I like the conditioner much better than the leave-in.
I have 2c/3a hair. Mixed chicks worked about 60% of the time. The weather had to be perfect for my curls and waves to be defined otherwise my hair would be a sticky mess. I also wasn't a huge fan of the ingredient list or the smell.
I like this product a long time ago, it worked better for me with a texturizer/ Now I use it my hair was supper hard. I am not planning on purchasing it again. It a great product but not for my hair. I did not like the lawsuit ideal ef the lawsuit woth this company with sallys beauty. The product are totally different. both have a place in the market.
This is best when applied to soaking wet hair. When the hair is drying it becomes a bit crunchy, but when its completely dried out, the crunchiness goes away. It leaves my ends moisturized for up to 3 days if I use it with a good sealing butter like nourish and shine.
This did barely anything. I've used it for wash n' go and twist outs. It didn't define my hair enough for the wash and go. I had a defined frizzy afro (if that makes any sense). My twist out definition didn't last more than a day or so. It also took a long time, 30 minutes to an hour, for it to disappear in my hair. I didn't get second day wash n' go with this either. I have 3c/4a hair and there are other products that make my hair look really curly. This is not one of them. Maybe if they made a super version of this with more gel? I don't know, but I have purchased this a few times trying to get it to work (before I tried other things), and the results didn't get any better. I'm sure it works well for some.
So far, this product works the best in my 3c/4a chin length hair. I love the fact that unlike a lot of products for curlies I don't have to use a leave in AND a gel product which saves time as I wash my hair almost every morning. The only thing is, though my hair is short, I have a lot of it and its has a ton of volume, so I have to use quite of bit of any product to tame it. This product is no different and if I don't alternate leave-ins, I'm pretty sure I could go through a bottle of this in less than a month. Which is not so good considering the price. If I could find a product that could work just as well, with a lower price and no parabens it would be perfect.
Like most people I have a love/hate relationship with this leave in conditioner. The first day is great, my curls are fine and no frizz. BUT second day hair is not so great. I tried the ponytail on the top of the head thing, yea didn't work. The part where my curls were hanging out were fine but the part that was pulled up in the pony tail wasnt. When i took the ponytail out it looked like i had a ponytail in all day so just shaking it didn't work. even spritzing with the mixed chicks in the water bottle didn't work.
I enjoy this product. I have 3C/4A combination hair. My hair doesn't feel hard or sticky. It is very moisturized and healthy. My hair is very friendly and really does well with many products. This one is really the best. It is expensive and I use it sparingly. The shampoo and conditioner are wonderful as well.
I expect bang for my buck. I should get 2-day hair from a product this expensive, and I've tried it many times, but I do not with Mixed Chicks (I do with my other tried-and-true products). Also I noticed the smell is not pleasant, but it did fade once my hair was dry. I like my curls fine on day 1-- it gives me a pretty controlled look and my hair overall looks less big. Not really my favorite look, but I could live with it, and if your hair is dense and you want it to look less dense, maybe you'd like it. But the 2nd day-- this gives me the weirdest kind of frizz. It's like part of the curl separates from the rest and is just frizz. I try doing what I usually do, adding a little water to a little product and smoothing it into the frizzy areas but it doesn't work with Mixed Chicks. Not being able to achieve nice 2nd day hair with this makes it a big disappointment for me.
I have heard this product is really great, and being a curly girl I have tried many products. Was going to order, THEN...discovered...IT HAS ALL PARABENS!! Parabens are terrible for YOU & YOUR HAIR! They are chemical peservatives that mimic estrogens in the body. Studies have shown that parabens can be cancer causing & that in 2002 in a study, parabens were found in cancerous breat tissue! Parabens are in lotions, cosmetics, hair products, shave gels, makeups etc........GO PARABEN FREE FOR YOU & YOUR HEALTH!! No need for companies to use it...except...its cheap & easy to produce!!
This is alright. Not worth the price because you have to put sooo much in. :/ The smell is okay. I noticed some people loved it and some people weren't to fond. You should know that it is VERY fragrant and the people around you can smell it even after your hair is dry. It is nice because it is so think and you don't get too much shrinkage.
Left my hair feeling VERY dry. I'm going to try it on my boyfriend's 3a hair and see if it works on him :P
LOVE IT!! You have to experiment with this to know how to use it. I have very thick 3b-3c hair. The first time I used it, I did exactly like Kim did it on the website. HORRIBLE! I looked like Diana Ross or Chaka Khan (think Chaka Khan let me rock u baby). But it was really soft, like fluff. She only used 2 or 3 quarter sized drops and that wasn't nearly enough for me. I saw where some people added honey to decrease the poufiness(?). I added a bit of honey and olive oil the second time. OMG! My hair has never been this defined and shiny! It is a bit crunchy and I really don't know how to effectively SOTC yet. BUt I would rather have a little crunch than a lion's mane.
I've been looking for an awesome leave-in conditioner and decided to try this one out. I hate how it makes my hair feel. It makes my curls hard and dry. I feel as if it does more harm than damage for my hair. At first I thought maybe I wasn't evenly putting the product in my hair so I tried combing my hair after I put the conditioner in, however I still got the same results. Some people either like or hate this product...I'm one of the ones that hate it...
I LOVEEE this product. The trick i found is to apply when hair is soaking wet and scrunch. Apply a light oil or butter (shea butter) to lock in the moisture. After applied DO NOT TOUCH HAIR!!! Let air dry completely. Once hair is dried it may feel very hard and crunchy, this is when you begin to scrunch hair until it becomes soft and full of body. This product has an amazing light scent and does not make hair feel weighed down.
I really like this product! It really helped define my curls and eliminate frizz. If I used a lot my hair would be crunchy, so you just need to know how much your hair can handle. But all in all it was a great product.
I love this product it makes my hair soft and moisturized. My hair looks very defined it's unbelievably amazing,my hair loves this stuff. I recommend this to everyone!
I, myself, hate this stuff--well, my hair hates it. I think it has to do with the silicone in it. My mother's hair (3c/4a) loves it, though. So, I take 5 and I give 3 for my Mom.
Love it , I have 3a/3b hair and this the best product so far. makes my hair soft and curly. You need to really watch the video and apply properly to get the best result.
It was okay nothing spectacular like everyone made it seem. Won't buy again especially for that price
I use product only in the summer now. I use to use it all year around but it doesn't work as good in the winter as it does in the summer.
I use this product sometimes. It's good for the summer time because it keeps my curls intact in the humid weather. However, in the winter it makes my hair dry and brittle.
This is the best and I mean the best curl product I have ever used for my hair. I have been using it for like 3 yrs now and I have tried some other things in between also and my hair keeps going back to mixed chicks. I can not see wasting anymore money on anything else. Stable forever.
One of the worst curl styling products ever! The smell of it is on the sickening side. Totally awful! Also, it left my hair with a very coated and dry look to it as well. This product left my curls looking and feeling like a total mess. Never again will I purchase this product!
I love this product and how it makes my hair feel. I use it almost everyday. The only thing I dont like is that it drys hard, but usually after I fluff my hair when its dry it softens up.
I tried this product after observing reviews on their website. Thinking wow!!! looks like they've considered exactly what i imagine my hair needs. I was terribly disappointed when i found my hair dry and wrapped in a film that almost felt sticky.
This is one of my favorite curly hair products for wash and go hair. It has excellent hold and retains some moisture. I like the way my curls come out. The downside would that it doesnt have a scent and it can make my hair crunchy so I usually add a creme on top.
This really defines your hair! It did get a little crunchy at times but all in all I highly recommend it!
This leaves my hair crunchy, if I use too much it is heavy as well. Once I broke the crunchy cast on my curls my hair was soft.
I bought this product on a whim just to try out Mixed Chicks, despite the ingredient list (A 'cone? In my curly hair product? It's more likely than you think!). My hair really liked it! Initially it felt crunchy, even after adding a bit of olive oil, but the next day after a bit of scrunching, my curls feel sooooooooo soft and defined. If it weren't for the 'cone (granted a low-key 'cone), parabens and the price, it would be a staple. I'lll see if I have a change of heart by the end of the bottle. :)
I like this product but not love. My only complaint is that is dries out my hair BUT it does define my curls.
I have been natural for 3 years and this is the best product I've tried for my hair. What works for one may not work for all but THIS makes my curls look unreal! People ask me what type of rods I use in my hair and they think I'm lying when I say it's natural. I have 2 hair textures and it works well on both. It's definiltey better on finer hair than hair that is more coarse.
This Product was great for my 3a/3b curls!! I enjoyed trying out some other Mixed Chick Products! This Product helped moisture, frizz, and strength of the hair. Worked great but was super expensive for such a little bottle. It lasted 1 1/2 months or so with me and my sister using it! Definitely would recommend!
It's good for short hair that you wash or co-wash everyday but that's about it. It can really dry your hair out. The price isn't all that great either.
bought this for my daughter. i thought this would be what i have been looking for to moisturize her hair but i was so wrong! it didnt do any thing for her hair. i bought the whole set shampoo, cond, leave in, and the glosser. the only thing i liked about it was the glosser. it didnt make her hair softer or her curls manageable. it left her hair dry and nasty feeling i used the up the products then moved on to something else.
My hair had a HATE > LOVE relationship with this product. When I first purchased it (the large bottle), there was NOTHING that I liked about it; it did nothing for my hair, it didn't smell all that great, etc. I could not find a single redeeming quality so I tossed it in the trash after 1 use (like an idiot!). Fast forward 6 months later...........using this AS A STYLER over my LI + coconut oil, brought my wash-n-gos to life! Soft, defined, moisturized and volumous curls.
My hair absolutely hated this product. I spend about 40.00 on Mixed Chicks products and I have never been so disappointed. My curls were not defined AT ALL!! Just weighed my hair down and it looked awful. Tried it several times just to make sure it wasn't me.
I bought this product and it has been sitting under my bathroom sink since. I used this a couple times and I didn't like how my curls look. My hair felt very dry and brittle and the curls were more frizzy than defined curls as promised. I recommend saving your money and do not purchase this product.
When I used this before going CG i remember this would elongate my curls, and my ends always looked dry. When it dried my hair got big not frizzy but bigger than i like it to look. Just think there are way better alternatives to this pricey non CG product.
I bought a sample of this product. My hair felt OK afterwards but my biggest issue with this product is not just the price but the ingredients. Usually, you pay more for products that are more natural. The product is just full of parabens which I don't like.
Lots of product build up from this once it dries on your hair. Sure the finished product may look gr8 on your hair, but once its dry, don't expect to twirl your fingers through your curls without stirring up some flakage (almost in a powdery, dusty look). When I first went natural I loved this product, but only because my hair was about 1" long and didn't require a lot of product for the results I wanted (the nice uniform non-frizzy curly look we all wish to achieve). As it grew I needed more product to achieve this look, consequently I was going through bottles like no body's business and found myself just pulling my hair back once my hair was completely dry (b/c I was disatisfied with the results as a wash n' go conditioner on a "wearing my hair down" style. I would recommend this for short hair- those who've just BC'ed or making the transition. I wish I could post pics in the reviews of how my hair reacted to this product, b/c it's all I used in the beginning.
I really love this product, nothing defines and holds my curls all day long like this! I have gotten up to 3 day hair with it just re-wetting some parts and adding more of it. I do wear this over my conditioner to add more moisture. I took one star away because if I let my hair air-dry, it could literally take over 8 hours! Also, alot of parabens and some silicones but overall, it's a staple product for me. And for the girls who felt this made their hair too stiff, just scrunch the curls once they're dry to soften.
Mixed Chicks didn't do it for me. It was okay on the first day but didnt like that my curls wern't defined well. But when I woke up the next day my curls were gone and my hair was very dry so its not moisturizing at all & I have 3c/4a with some 3b type hair.. Didn't like the products at all.
I love this product, I use it EVERYDAY after I wash my hair. It defines my curls doesn't make my hair cruncht!
as a 4a,4b I have to say I was not excited with this out the gate...however with the Mixed Chicks deep conditioner as as a part of my prepoo regime I have grown fonder of this... however the $20 price tag makes me think I'll probably not make it a part of my staple... I had to chill out on the PJism as it has become like a utility bill, i.e, phone, cable, electric, hair products...eeek! I would recommend it if your hair is going through serious transition and needs something extra... its one to keep on the side but definitely can find other, less expensive leave-ins that do the trick, like Suave Tropicals Coconut Conditioner, Aussie Moist and Hello Hydration by Herbal Essence.
In spite of the ingredients I love it. It consistently works better for me than many of the 'natural' leave ins I have. Always guarantees a good hair day. Haven't tried by itself with no styler over it, but seems it has hold, as I always wish I used less of whatever styler I put over it. Good for moisture, shine and definition.
Finally tried this product. A friend recommended it and I was surprised at how much I liked it. I had read negative and positive reviews and was not sure how it would work for me. I washed my hair, conditioned, sectioned and applied the MC Leave In with a little water to help smooth it on. After my hair dried my curls were defined and had plenty of shine with very little frizz. I really like this product. The only reason I gave it a 4 was due to some of the ingredients. I prefer products with more natural ingredients.
The conditioner is pretty good. I got defined curls and great slip and very shiny. I actually prefer this product in as a 2nd/3rd day refresher (with a bit of water) or in my pre-poo mixture. I don't think the conditioner is compatible with the shampoo because the shampoo is a bit drying.
I didnt really use Mixed Chicks conditioner but I used Mixed Silk. It works just as good as Mixed Chicks. My curls were more defined and stretched out more when I used Mixed Silk along with a little dab of World of Curls. My curls looked the same as the singer Mya. Awesome Product!!
The leave in helped me to define my type 4 curls, however it wasn't very moisturizing for my dry hair as I would've liked it to be.
It defines my curls well, however I have to put a moisturizer underneath because its not that moisturizing alone. I only need a small amount in each section. The product doesnt really have a smell to me.
Great product! Gives some curl definition. I worls really well with Carol's Daughter hair milk for a flat twist out.
I fell in love with Mixed Chicks products years ago and have used the trio on my hair every since and currently retail it in my salon. The best thing about the product is that you can use it on a variety of hair types.
This product is one of the best conditioners I have ever used! It keeps my hair moisturized and manageable while defining my curl pattern. I also used it as a deep conditioner and it was a great!
I love, love, love this product. I am caucasion only so don't be mislead by the name, It works wonders for me I have 2b/3a hair, it worked well for my son who has straight hair just to give a little shine and hold, and I worked even better for my neice who is 2 and has a little bit of curly hair
My daughter is mixed (black/white) and we have tried everything under the sun for her curly frizzy hair. I have spent lots of money on drug store products and nothing works. Everything is either for African/American women or Caucasian women. We started using the Curls products after stumbling upon it online and were semi satisfied. There are too many products and too many steps you have to go through with the Curls line which result in spending a lot of money and I still don't quite get the results I am looking for. I saw an ad for Mixed Chicks in a magazine and decided to give it a try. This stuff is amazing. I will never use anything else for my daughters hair. I leaves her curls so defined, soft and frizz free. I love it.
Product smells good which is why I gave it a 2. The product is pricey, and it leaves my hair feeling crispy, even when used with the shampoo and deep conditioner also in theproduct line. This product is probably better suited to 3 hair, orlonger hair (I'm at the TWA stage right now).
My hair hated this product. It felt crunchy and left a white residue. My hair felt dry. The shampoo and deep conditioner were okay but not worth the price.
Well I'm type 3 to 3c tightly curled up front and loose in the back so I'm in the middle in the ratings. For my loose curls it did wonders but, the tighter ones not so much. I means it seemed they attempted to curl up but ended up shrinking and made me look like I had a mullet.
a friend gave me this product as a gift.. and i think it is okay... i like the packaging especially... but i dont like the chemically smell... i get a lot of shrinkage from this product, but i am okay with that as it really defines my curls and makes them shiny... after the third day, i find that the product can get a sticky, filmy feeling on my hair which can make my hair look dull by the third day... i didnt like that...someone else described this as a creamy gel and that seems like pretty accurate description.
I like this product, but it's not my favorite. This is a great product for humid days. It makes my hair a bit stiff, but holds it well. Good for fighting frizz. And I like supporting fellow biracial women.
3 stars because there's nothing really special about this product that warrants the hefty price tag. Actually, I'm baffled that the owners claim they had difficulty finding products for their hair since this product is nothing more than a creamy gel. I wouldn't dare use this as a traditional creamy leave-in. It contains PVP (4th ingredient after water) which is what clumps and holds the curls and is a major component of many hair gels. This product worked for my hair but not in the way the owners suggest to use it. They twist and scrunch in about 2 to 3 quarter sized dollops for their entire heads. My super tight 4a/3c hair requires about 16 to 20 quarter sized dollops, raked into (no scrunching) soaking wet hair then air dried (I also apply a leave-in underneath this). My curls dry a little stiff but this is, after all, a creamy gel. I also found this stuff works really well as a setting lotion with flexi rods. All-in-all, this stuff is okay, but it contains cones, parabens, and you can most certainly can get similar results with a creamy leave-in and a $5 jar of Fantasia IC gel. Just remember, though this is marketed as a leave-in conditioner, it's not like your traditional leave-in. It contains gel-like properties which mean you hair may dry stiff or crunchy.
I love this product! I live in Houston, tx. where the humidity is bad! It keeps my hair frizz free and very healthy looking. I liked it so much I bought the whole set...It worked even better!!!! Amazing..finally beautiful curls I now can truley appreciate

My first time with this product was a rather good experience. It seemed to moisturize well, tame the frizz, and have a nice volume to it. I was rather satisfied. At the end of the day, it seemed dry and dull. The results did not last. I tried holding my hair up in a pineapple style ponytail as suggested by Mixed Chicks, but I couldn't achieve 2nd day hair. I tried to co-wash and retry the product the following day but the silicone was weighing down my hair. If I wanted somewhat good results, I had to shampoo my hair, and I didn't find it worth the while to shampoo daily (drying out my curls) to achieve the curls that stood well for no longer than 8 hours. This product reminded me of the Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In. The results were similar from a view, but Mixed Chicks definitely left my hair softer. I only wish it didn't have silicone or parabens in it so I can co-wash. Perhaps then it wouldn't leave my hair so dry and dull.
So far this has been the only product that has tamed my childs 3c super frizzy hair. I am still searching for something more affordable but I love this product on her hair as well as on my 3b hair.
OH MY GODDD! This is the best leave in conditioner I have ever used so far. It made my hair look so shiny and silky and smooth and bouncy. I really recommend this product.
I was disappointed with this product. I heard really good things about it and I finally had a chance to use it on 7/11/2010. On a positive note, it did leave my hair very soft and frizz control was around 70%. The con, not as much curl definition as I would have liked and I did follow the instructions posted on their website. I may try this product again and use my KBB hair nectar underneath or Jane Carter Solution Condition and Sculpt over it for more curl definition.
This product was just okay. I did not like it, but did not hate it either. I received it free from a relative who tried it and wasn't impressed. It did an okay job of moisturizing my hair but by the end of the day my hair was dry (relative who gave it to me had the same complaints). Left a sort of greasy coating on my hair (perhaps the glycerin) sort of like when you use vege glycerin except it did not completely absorb. Did not define my curls though I don't think it was designed for that purpose. Used it on my daughters hair though to finish off the bottle. Was very similar to drug store moisturizers ( pink oil etc) would not purchase again especially considering the price.
I really really like this product! I have 3c hair and always have a hard time finding something that reduces frizz and defines my curls without being too gel-like. This product definitely does the trick! I would recommend it in a heartbeat.
3 Ways Mixed Chicks Has helped my Curls. 1~ My curls are more defined . The ringlets tend to separate and coil more definitively. 2~As a result of my first reason, my curls have more spring and bounce. My curls aren't sealed and unmovable, and that adds to the natural untouched beauty of my curls. 3~ My curls are more healthy , and less frazzled looking . Mixed chicks ingredients has helped with my overall hair health. I would get the split-ends clipped and start over with other products, Mixed chicks was the only one that kept them healthy . LOVE THIS PRODUCT!
I love to use this when I wear my hair out or just need a little more control for my crazy 3b hair. I am white with really curly, thick hair and love that this product doesn't dry my hair out, cause crunchiness or much shrinkage. Yet it still controls frizz while giving me a soft, natural curl pattern with some extra shine. I mostly use pretty natural products, but until I find something that works as good I will happily keep using it!
I absolutely loved this product!! It gave my curls the perfect bounce, and left them super soft, and still gave me that wet look with out making my hair hard. I am a little skeptical about all of the ingredients in this. I am all out! I will definitely research the ingredients before I re-buy!
I have very long 3c multiracial hair (black/native american/ white) and this product really wasn't my cup of tea. it is really waxy and sticky and it takes forever (2 hours or more) to dry. you can't use a blow dryer with it and it only lasts for 1 day. when it finally did dry it looked nice, but you have to rinse it after a day because it is so sticky. sorry to say i won't be buying this again.
I absolutely love the Mixed Chicks leave-in conditioner! I live in New Orleans, and it is SUPER humid but the product locks in moisture like nothing I've ever used before. It does make my curls a little "crunchy" but I'll take that over frizz anyday. And despite the crunch, my curls are never stiff and still have body. But it is amazing, even in this weather! NO FRIZZ!!! :-))
I'm impressed! I used it after the Mixed Chicks shampoo and conditioner. I used a blow dryer with diffuser for a few minutes (not to completely dry, but to make it less than damp) and, miracle of miracles...IT WORKED! My hair is defined and shiny with virtually no frizz. I'm convinced and will DEFINITELY be purchasing the products again and again!
I have hair type 3c and this product is awesome!! I have never found anything that makes my hair look like this. Normally when I let my hair air dry, it puffs up and gets frizzy after using this for about a week it looks like I have shirley temple curls without the gel feeling and its really shiny. I've gotten tons of compliments and no one believes that its just a shampoo, conditioned and leave-in conditioner that makes it look like this. LOVE IT!
Not as drying as some other drug store shampoos but still on par with them. Quite disappointing.
My hair is identical to the owners', but this product didn't work for me. Left my curls stiff, waxy and very dull. Hair felt dry, too. On a positive note, it works well as a rinse-out conditioner. I also can't imagine anyone being bothered by the light, lemony scent. I hate giving negative reviews to start-up companies that cater to us curlies, but it is what it is.
It's not CG and it leaves the hair a tad dull, but it delivers on curl enhancement, definition and clumpage.
I love this product! It is great for those days where you just don't want to gel down your hair. I use a generous amount section by section for curl definition and minimal frizz. The results last me a good 2-3 days.
I really love the result this gives. My hair is really thick and tends to be frizzy and this tames my hair and gives awesome definition. However I am not too sure about the ingredients, I wish it was more natural. My hair is really damaged and I'm afraid it is not helping the cause.
I LOOOOOOVE this product! It can be used for so many styles! Ponytails, puffs, twist-outs, comb-outs, just about anything you can think of! The first couple times I tried it, I didn't like it...my hair felt kind of crunchy and filmy. After a couple more tries I realized that I had just been using too much product. If you use it only on damp hair and you're careful not to use too much, it gives AMAZING results. To this day, I haven't found a product that gives me the same curl definition, weightless feel, and sheen...not shine, but SHEEN! I really LOVE this product and I wish I had more! I live in Indianapolis where I can't seem to find a retailer so I have to get it offline :/ I highly recommend this product for anyone with hair ranging from 3A-4C...I let a friend try it (her hair is more on the 2A/2B scale) and she said it didn't do much for her.
I must say it is lighter than Curly Pudding. It is also softer. I did have very touchable curls but with me being a 3C it just wasn't ENOUGH. I had touchable hair but it was easy to frizz if I played with it. I also didn't see the sheen I was used to with Curly Pudding. I did make it look better when I added Coconut oil on top but it still didn't have what I was looking for. A good second place to Curly Custard from Kinky Curly. (I'm using that now)
Curl type 3b. My favorite product so far, I have not found anything better than this for my hair! Defines my curls, leaving my hair frizz free and soft! I love it :)
I didn't like this product. I tried it several times and was never happy with it as a styler. It is an okay leave-in, but not great. It certainly didn't justify using a product with silicones in it for me. I have to really like them to use a silicone. This one didn't do that and I hated the smell of it.
I liked this product a lot. Made my 3b/3c hair look fabulous! Second day styling was good too but my hair was a bit dry. Kim of Mixed Chicks recommended I do what she does and use the leave in without the water on the second and subsequent days until I'm ready to restyle. Worked well!
This is the best styling product I have ever used. I used to use about 3/4 products now I only use this. Provides good definition, soft non crunchy curls & 2nd day hair! My only gripe is it could be a little stronger hold but I can spritz with a bit of gel spray over the top without problem.
I love this stuff! I have 3c/4a hair and after I washed my hair it actually left it with some definition and curl.
I have type 2b hair. I really love this stuff. It makes my curls not as frizzy. I don't like it mixed with Deva Angel though my hair feels oily and dirty. I use it alone.
One of my absolute favorites. It reminds me of Mane N Tale - anyone ever use that? Same color, smell, texture...hmmm - but I don't remember it being so useful. I use it right after a shower - right before I step out - and again, just a little, after towel drying my hair. Once it dries a bit, I run my fingers through and it looks great - then I use some conditioning mist or oil for frizz, and I'm set. You can also leave it in and let it dry and NOT run your fingers through, and it's a thick, sleek hold that isn't greasy looking. I especially like this product the first few days after a haircut - tames the shock without weighing it down.
This leave-in is just ok, I need to use some oil or moisture spritz under it, when you hair dries its not soft and you can feel the produts flim, I won't be re-buying. I have 3b/3c med texture- high prous hair
As I experiment with a range of products, some wowing me and others not so much, I keep coming back to the Mixed Chicks line (shampoo and conditioner) which NEVER DISAPPOINTS. I can always count on you MC - thanks!
I love mixed chicks! This stuff is amazing. My hair used to be so dry and lifeless but not anymore, with mixed chicks I get defined ringlets that are so pretty(I get so many compliments now). This stuff has answered my prayers. If you don't like a lot of body I wouldn't recommend it because it does tend to make my hair a bit larger than it used to be.
I cut the relaxer out of my hair 2 months ago so I'm new to the naturally curly. My hair is 3B and I love it. At first I was using Sebastian Wet which was great but it was drying out my hair, I tried Miss Jessie's curly pudding and it was ok but the Mixed Chicks Leave-in conditioner works wonders! My hair stays moist and has sheen. My curls aren't as defined as when I was using Sebastian Wet but with a little twisting here and there it looks just as good. I've received many compliments!
LOVE this. My curls dry stretched out when I use it instead of up to my earlobes! GREAT STUFF.
Another love. All the mixed chick products work wonders on my hair. it left my hair soft and bouncy. It did take a while to dry but that was expected. Love it
This left my hair dry, puffy and stiff, it added no moisture/softness to my hair. The only thing I liked was that it had a 3 step process but also expensive
I tried this product bc its recommended for type 4b hair (in the curlaccino). It gave me great definiteion: lil coils everywhere. But my hair was soooo dry. It even looked dry and old. Depsite what else I did :DT, oil treatment, use with shea, this stuff made my hair a desert. I think it has too much protein and cones for my hair. 4b hair
This one disappointed me, but to be fair it's probably better suited for another hair type. It left my hair dry and frizzy, and for some reason my strands didn't really seem to want to absorb it. Still had visible product residue approximately two to three hours post application. Took a few CO washes to bring back my hair's softness and restore an acceptable moisture level. Would not purchase again.
It adds great hold and definition to my curls. The only thing that I didn't like was that it didn't add much shine I had to use a shine spray along with it.
By far the best ever. I'm black (not biracial) and have soft hair and curls. I have tried products from the ethnic shelves and it was too greasy and made my hair heavy. Then i tried non ethnic products and it made my hair dry and frizzy. Mixed Chicks is perfectly in between, because its for a mixture of hair types and needs. Also you can talk to the creators they have a lot of helpful tips....... Sharena, 24 -Indiana
Required lots of product to get desired results. Created a build-up over time. Needed to mix with lots of other products to get a good effect.
Pros: Initially made my hair feel soft; Defined my curls. Cons: "Chemical" scent; Took forever to absorb into my hair and that subsequently increased my hair's drying time (thank God I tried it on a weekend and not when I had to go to work); Left a film on my hair that dried into flakes resembling dandruff; Did not mix well with other styling products (again, more flaking!!); The price I paid ($19+Tax at a store in NYC); The ingredients are suspect.
MY hair is 3B and my hair and I agree that this product is wonderful my curls are soft to the touch and this product even loosens my tight curl a bit. YAYYYYYYYYYY
At first, it was very disappointing because made my hair too puffy after a few hours. Several of the other reviewers have mentioned this problem. But I found a way to counteract that: I apply it in the shower when my hair is sopping wet, and I mix it with honey! Somehow, that combination prevents the puffiness from forming. Now it is perfect all day. No puffiness, no frizz, perfect definition. It's now the best of the many products I've tried.
For me, it's a combination detangler and styling lotion that works well in medium humidity. It also has a fresh scent. This product is wonderful once you figure out how to use it for your hair type.
Great leave in and styler. Combined with the deep conditioner gave me the very best curly hair day yet. I am completely sold on the stuff. I could tell even before my hair dried that it was going to be a great hair day. I couldn't stop touching my wet/damp hair. It was so soft and CURLY!! I scrunched in a little Melting Gel and even got 2nd day hair out of it.Truly a HG for me!!
This product was OK at first. I think it was better than what I was using prior, however like one other reviewer said, after a few uses my hair felt strawlike and stringy, didn't have good slip and I realized has amodimethicone (third listed ingredient). As a newly converted CG it's off my list!
I have fine, fluffy 3c hair and as soon as I put this in it matted my hair and made it impossible. It would be best for making dreadlocks (at least for my hair.) Although it worked fine for my boyfriend's mom, who ironically is NOT a "mixed chick"!
LIGHT AND NOT STICKY ! NO SCENT WHICH IS A PLUS ! SET MY WAVES AND CULRS WELL... DOES NOT HOLD WELL IN HUMIDITY !
between 3a and 3b Mixed chicks leave-in condition... don't like it at all. It left my hair stiff with a sticky feeling and very difficult to even out because of the residue. I even tried using less and it still does not work.
As my hair dried, the strands immediately expanded and looked extremely poofy. The curls were not defined, nor did they look moisturized. So basically, my mixed hair (i'm black, white and asian) looked a hot, puffy, dried out, undefined mess. I want my money back!!
I LOVE this product and this company. This product is great because it's a great way to moisturize and style to prevent frizz all in one product. You can put in less if you want a natural feel, and put in more if you want more hold or want to fight the humid weather. Plus, the owners/managers are great people. They often send little free samples with an order in the mail. I asked for specific products to be sent as samples and they sent me ten of them! After being a loyal customer to them ever since I discovered them years ago, they just sent me a free t-shirt along with my last purchase as a gift. How great is that!
It definitely left my hair soft and my curls well defined. About the only thing I don't like is that it required not towel drying my hair, which made it take longer to dry. It was better the second day than any other product I've tried. Also, I don't have to wet my hair every day to use this product.
I did not like this product. Smells weird and left my hair feeling coated, dry and strawlike. I gave it away after only two uses.
I was really excited to try this Leave-in, but I was really disappointed. I was left with a tangled blob of mess. Granted, I used this product when I was a newly natural curly, but I don't see myself using it again in the future.
i have biracial hair and i decided to try out mixedchicks because i thought it was for my kind of hair. i applied it to my hair when it was wet and worked it through my hair. when it dried when it was down it was very puffy and big and didn't really control the volume. so i started wearing it in a ponytail and it looked very nice while it was drying, but once it dried, the ponytail itself was really puffy and felt dry/not moisturized enough. it did form nice corkskrew curls though. but the front of my hair on top looked very nice and flat with waves. i would give this product four curls if i could wear my hair down without a lot of volume and frizz.
I wish I could say that this worked on my hair but it didn't. Once hair air dried, there wasn't any moisture; just straw!! I DO love the concept of this product for others, but not for me. Thanks Mixed Chicks for trying to help a sistah out and creating a prod. alternative.
One of my few old stand-bys. I do get a little crunch using it because I can't stand to put it on sopping wet hair, but I just scrunch it out and it looks BEAUTIFUL!!! I also like the fact that its a leave-in because my hair is super dry and it soaks it up like a sponge.
I don't know what is in this stuff, but it gives me the best curls I've ever had. I love, love this product. My hair feels nice and soft, as well as, defined with little frizz. (I like a little frizz. I have 3c hair.
The product is amazing!! I sent an e-mail asking for samples and it took a week to get here but worth it every second! I'm 3b curl and it works very well for my hair. Everyone should try it!
I was really hoping this would work on my hair so there would be less step in my regime, but it did nothing but make my hair flake and made it dry. Very wierd and it didn't matter how much I put in these problems still occured.
I love the Mixed Chick leave-in conditioner. I had my hairdresser give me a curlier hairstyle and started using this line and love it more than DevaCurl. It has a very light fragrance and the conditioner has just enough body and hold. I have no frizz with these products. I have to use the Deep Conditioner with it, however. I like the shampoo but can't use it every day so I alternate between it and Elucence Moisturizing Shampoo. My hair looks better than ever!!!
This product has BAD INGREDIENTS!!! I don't care how good it is, my hairs health is more important to me. This product has about 6 ingredients with PARABENS in, and most of the other ingredients are man-made. AWFUL
The smell and texture is odd, but this leave in does get the job done. It holds my hair, lenghtens and moisturizes it well. I get compliments on my well defined curls whenever I use this product.
My hair felt like it had product in it. It also looked kinda dull. I recommend requesting a sample before buying this product. If you like hold and crunch then you'll like this product. I'm a free flowing, soft curls kind of girl.
After I used this and let it airdry my hair did not poof back up and my curls actyally looked long and not all springy and short. I didn't get any frizz either! I would buy this again
I'm not sure how people are using this system and not loving it. It is the absolutely best product I have ever used! I've found the products work best together and your hair has to be wet to apply the product. I shampoo and deep condition 1-2x/week and just rinse and reapply the conditioner in the morning. It's likely for the folks that still get frizz or get drier your hair is damaged, try a protein treatment.
I hated this stuff, results were so hit and miss it didn't matter whether i used a lot or a little i always had dull looking crispy feeling curls. Also it doesn't smell very good
After one use my hair felt good - smooth, plump curls, most. I used under a gel. After 2 uses my hair was frizzing and felt dry. It's still feeling a bit dry after a non-sulfate poo and deep conditioning.
Very good product. I have to becareful with the application amount, but it did a good job on my hair. It left it soft and moisturized with nice definition and movement. Received a sample, but would purchase the full size.
I really like this product, so far it is the best for my 3b/3c hair. Nice hold (no stiffness), doesn't weigh my fine hair down, good curl definition and not drying. I do add a little moisture from another product before this leave-in but this product itself is not drying.
Love it! If you want beautiful, defined, shiny curls you must try this. I've tried a lot of leave ins and nothing compares to this. I didn't need a gel over it. You get a leave in /styler in one. Great product for my thick mixed hair.
My hair: 3c/4a This product made my hair feel dry and a little stiff. I was excited about it because I too am a ‘mixed chick’. I thought it would work for me but I’ve tried it on several occasions, thinking it was operator error, and the results are the same. It’s moisturizing but it has a residue feeling to it. This product doesn’t like this mixed chick.
This is my holy grail of leave in conditioners!!! My hair was SOOOOO soft and the curls were very defined and clumped together!! I will say that you must use it on soaking wet hair for it to work and I needed a styling product for more hold. The bottle should be bigger for the price I will say. I will be buying this product again...and again....and again!!!
I LOVE MIXEDCHICKS!!! I have tried every product on the market for curly hair and mixed chicks is the only one that gives definition, body, silkiness, no frizz, etc. etc. and still maintains great hold! you can either air dry or diffuse with this product..i diffuse when i want more volume and air dry when i want less. anyways i love this product its my hg and if you want silky healthy frizz free curls with good hold i think you should really try it.
The smell is not a good one, andthe product does not help the hair to retain moisture at all!And you can only use it on wet hair, which means that you'll have to wet your hair everyday in order to use it. Which is one of the many gripes that I have with this product. It also doesn't do a good job of keeping your hair frizz free all day, and it is not-an-all-in-one product for curly hair either. The only good thing going for this productis that it does help with curl definition.
Hey Curly Sisters! I used this product alone and I didnt really like the way my hair felt. The second time I used it with Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding, I liked the results. My hair was softer and curls looked really sweet! I would purchase again, although I feel the bottle should be bigger for that price! :)
Would not recommend this product. Left my hair w/ a residue feeling and I followed the instructions on the bottle. Was very disappointed b/c I like the idea of one product to moisterize/style.
This works GREAT for defining and detangling curly hair. I do recommend using a leave in conditoner with it, as some curlies to find this product drying.
very good leave in! not worth the price tag though. you can find something cheaper thats just as effective, if not more.
This product did something wonderful to my hair. The first time I tried it, I put it on dry hair and that didn't work, but when I read the directions and did it with my hair soaking wet, it came out so great! I wonder if the people who wrote in saying they didn't like it, maybe used the product wrong. You can't combe it or teas it while it's drying. Well, the point is I really, really like this product.
This is a great leave in conditioner. Very moisturizing, but not heavy at all and very easy to apply in the hair. The scent is okay, more like unscented I would say. I may repurchase in the future.
I don't like this product at all. I am dissapointed as i thought i was finally going to find a product that really worked for my hair. When i use it my hair is puffy, it doesn't offer anything in the hold department.
Not a fan of this product!!!! Left my hair frizzy, rough feeling and dull looking. Will not purchase again.
I wouldn't buy this product again. I am surprised by reading the other comments of those who love this product because i feel the exact opposit. This conditioner left my hair dull and frizzy. Would not recommend this product at all.
I did not like this product at all!! My hair did feel soft but it was very puffy and the product doesn't provide any hold. You can't return it either so buyer beware.
LOVE this. Am a bit worried about the amodimethicone in here but my hair is extremely soft and shiny yet curls do clump nicely together. Have never used anything like this!
This product was awful. It left my hair dull and frizzy. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on this product.
I tried this product and it was terrible for my hair. At first i used a little and thought that was the problem and then increased the amount but the results were still not good at all. If left my hair dull, stiff and frizzy. It did not seem to penetrate the hair, it seemed to stay on the surface. I really feel this is an awful product and worst of all the company does not offer any returns or refunds so it was a real waste of money.
Love this product. I finally found the "one" product I could use to style my hair instead of using three different ones.
This is one of my favorite new products. A very concentrated leave-in that seems to tame frizz and leaves the hair shiny and soft.
The color is reminicent of Cholesterol without the tell-tale smell (those who've shopped in the "ethnic" isle know what I mean). This ultra moisturizing leave-in/detangler/moisturizer can also double as a styler if you dont mind a little volume. Very friendly to my 4a/4b non mixed parts too.
