I used this as a daily leave in when I was first getting used to my curly hair a few months ago. It moisturized, defined my curls, and kept them shiny. I then wanted to try out the SheaMoisture Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie. That worked wonders for my hair. About a month in, I decided to grab another bottle of the Olive Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion and compare the 2 products. I don't know if my hair changed, if it really loved an ingredient in the SheaMoisture, or if it just doesn't like this anymore, but this stuff makes my hair dry, stringy, and frizzy. I will finish the product or give it to a wavy friend.

I love this stuff. My best friend who is Jewish and has gorgeous curly hair uses it to straighten her hair :((((( suggested I try it when I mentioned I was having trouble keeping my curls defined. I have baby fine 3b hair, very prone to frizz and it will get weighed down quite easily. I'm African American so I had some skeptiscm about using this product but OMG. I bought a bottle of it @ Target for about $4 and used it as my styler on dripping wet hair. I could not believe my results. I had beautifully defined curls that were completely frizz free. My hair was light and not greasy and it even added a bit of length. Nothing else I've tried has given me results that were even close to this. The only thing I can do without are all the nasty silicones that it has in it, but I've found a way around that. I just wash my hair with a sulfate free shampoo that contains lighter cones that remove any buildup this might leave behind. Easy. This is now my staple product. It does NOT work for straightening my hair though, it just makes it greasy and nasty. But otherwise, I love this stuff.

It was ok. It moisturized but I felt like it didn't absorb and was a bit greasy. On top of that I didn't like the smell and it didn't aide styling, so it was just so-so.

I love this product!! I've tried so many different products in my hair but everything seems to disappoint me but this was different. I have very thick curly hair and I wet my hair, put tresemme naturals conditioner through it, some of this and a bit of gel. Then I twisted strands of my hair with my finger and let it to dry naturally. I had lovely defined curly hair when I was finished! I was really worried that the smell wouldn't be great cause of the olive oil but I really like the smell, not too strong. I think I've finally found a hair product I'm going to stick with! I tried it without using gel but I thought that my hair wasn't as defined. Others might use it without gel but I've been using gel for a long time and don't think I can part with it just yet. I think that your hair should definately be wet when you use it. I tried it with dry hair today, it didn't work as well. The only problem I had was that it was hard to get product out of the bottle after a while. I'm planning on getting the same product in a tub next time. Also, don't use too much. It'll make hair look greasy. A little really does go a long way. Was also dissapointed that it has silicones since I've avoided them for a long time. Overall, an excellent product!! Very Happy!

Smells really good, moisturizes my hair and is reasonably priced. BUT too much will weigh down my hair and cause my curls to drop or straighten. Also ingredients could be "hair-friendly"

Because I'm transitioning back to natural hair, after extensive damage, I am probably a bit biased. This product is what I used when I was in my first year of all natural hair. It kept my curls defined, kept my hair in place, and when I got back to straightening, it protected my hair very well. (I think my hair just got damaged from too high heat the second year in.) I agree with the other reviewers that it works best on wet hair. My damaged hair hates it, but my natural curls love it, and I'm just waiting for enough length for a Big Chop and to start again with healthy curls. I recommend that you do not use this product on dry hair. Use it with a fine tooth comb, in sections, on wet hair, comb i through gently, making sure you get it distributed from root to ends, and then scrunch and leave it alone. It will feel heavy at first, depending on your hair thickness and how much you use, but when it dries, your curls will be shiny and defined, and they will stay in place. I'll be going back to this product once my BC takes place around the beginning of 2012. I'd also recommend Pro Lines Natural 7 oil for nightly moisture as well.

So this is a hit or miss for me - sometimes it quenches my hair, and other times it has it feeling a little frazzled and confused. Most of the time I just use it on my edges when I was transitioning.

This smells yummy! I use it for straightening my curls and it leaves my hair feeling soft, silky and shiny. It has a really nice creamy consistency. I haven't used it on my curls as a conditioner because I think it might be a little bit too heavy.

Okay I didn't use this product. But I used a product form the same line that was in a tub, that was basically the same thing. And ohhh myyyy godddd! I put a little bit of it in my hair with some CHI silk infusion...then slept on it. My curls were thanking me today. BUY it!

I found this product too greasy and heavy until I tried applying it to WET hair. While the lotion will just sit on top of dry curls, wet hair absorbs all the moisture and nutrients of the olive oil, resulting in healthy, bouncy curls that don't require any additional products. It also helps with dandruff problems if you massage a little into your scalp. It's very inexpensive and I think it smells nice too.

Very, very thick, dense cream. A little goes a long way for protective moisturizing in harsh weather and for sun protection. I use it when I am not going to rinse for a few days. The smell is medicinal. It's for those with coarser texture who like a moisturizer in addition to oils and shine gels. It also plumps my curls when mixed with mousse or water.
