I got this in a sample size and love it so far, it is light but very moisturizing. I also use it as a refresher instead of water as my hair is on the dry side. It works well with the Incredible Curls from Jane Carter as well. Thinking about getting the bigger bottle we shall see.
My thick, 4A hair loves this product. I used Kinky Curly Knot Today for years, but the creamy consistency started to annoy. So, I jumped ship about one year ago. I've never looked back! It works very well with my L.O.C. method thanks to it's watery consistency. It detangles like a dream. The only negative thing I have to say about the product is not actually about the product at all. The spray bottle is poo! Lol. It sprays way too little product onto the hair. Whenever I crack open a fresh bottle, I always transfer the conditioner from it's original bottle to a beauty store spray bottle. Drenches the hair in seconds! As far as the smell goes, I like the smell! It's clean and crisp. Not every product has to smell like a vanilla wafer. Give it a try curlies!
I love the ingredients of this leave-in. It has very natural products and it smells very nice and natural. It has a very thin, watery consistency so it's not oily or greasy. It won't hold curls, but it reduced frizz, added shine and increased movement. It isn't very moisturizing but it did make my hair 3a/3b curls softer and shiny. I have thin low density hair so a lot of this product would be needed on someone with thicker hair to notice a difference. As for the price, it should be cheaper but it is a great refresher.
I am transitioning to natural, but I believe that I have fine, 4a type hair based upon the descriptions. It has taken me 3 weeks to get the hang of this product and how to use it for my hair, but now that I have, I love it! I use it to detangle my dry hair prior to my pre poo treatment. I spray it on the new growth at my roots to the ends of my relaxed hair. It completely softens my new growth and relaxed hair and allows me to comb my hair from root to tip so much more easily. After I've deep conditioned I use it as my leave in. I usually allow my hair to get 70-80% dry before I style/set my hair and this spray detangles well for me on damp hair. Once my hair has dried it is soft, light and moisturized. I am usually able to maintain the moisture on my new growth for at least 3-4 days. Midweek, I remoisturize my new growth with a spritz or two near my scalp. It's also a good spritz for my relaxed hair and does not disturb my style significantly at all. Since it seems to work so well for me it will be a go to product during my transition. The scent doesn't bother me and I love that it is all natural since I want to transition to natural products as well.
This is the worst leave-in I have ever used on my 4a/3c curls. I can't stand the smell and it is far from moisturizing, as a matter of fact it actually dried my hair out.
Scent is way too strong that I had to use another spray bottle and dilute otherwise it isn't bad. Its just not worth the money. AT ALL. Nice refresher and works well in conjunction with the outlandishly priced curling cream.
REALLY? I paid a lot for this product at Target (20.00) and am still trying to figure out what is so special about it--so far--It leaves much to be desired and I have not been able to use it as a stand alone leave in. (hair does not stay moisturized even 5 minutes after using)
I don't know how I feel about this product. I usually love Jane Carter products but this didn't seem to do much for my hair. It made detangling my hair easier but not by that much and not enough to validate the price. It did however leave my hair pretty soft and not greasy looking but it also left my hair pretty frizzy. This product might work better on someone with a different curl patter but for me it wasn't worth the price
It's just "okay/ average" for me. I wish the JC products worked better in my hair because of all the products I've tried, I absolutely love the scent of these the best! But alas, it is not meant to be (except for the Nourish and Shine which I LOVE). I spray this on my hair before I go to bed, but haven't found much use for this in other scenarios. The sprayer clogs constantly too and shoots out a single jet. Will not repurchase.
This did very little for my hair, but I'm starting to think Jane Carter is not for me. This leave-in detangled about as well as regular water, and did nothing else. My hair was still dry after using the hydrating shampoo, revitalizing conditioner and this.
I Love this stuff for detangling. I have kinky curly thinner hair and as soon as I spray it in my hair i can glide my brush right through.
Smells pretty strong and often gives me a headache if I use to much. Not too crazy about this product, doesn't really do much for my hair. It does moisturize but doesn't soften very much and def doesn't revitalize my curls if they are smooshed. I usually use this product when I run out of my favorite stuff. Not a bad product, just not great either.
Garbage, one of the worst product Ive ever bought! Surprised cause I LOVE the nourish and shine, and like the deep conditioner. This did not revive my curls, rather just left my hair sticky. Gross :(
The smell. I have this stuff in my desk drawer for an afternoon pick-me-up/frizz tamer. It works alright, but holy hell this stuff stinks. It has a perfumey, cloying smell that is unbelievably strong. My fiance won't let me put my head anywhere near him when I've used this stuff.
This is a good product when used with other products. So you have it as a leave-in, but then you need to add something else to it, like a cream. The smell is like flowers from outside and sunshine. Used alone... does nothing but keep my hair wet while I'm twisting. As far as detangling... eh... Not my go to for detangling.
i use this as a 2nd and 3rd day refresher. it gives my hair great shine and brings my curls back to life. i like that its natural but i will not rebuy it after i use up what i have. why? THE SMELL. it's horrible!! it's very herbally and strong and gives me a slight headache. too bad because the performance is excellent. if it weren't for the bad smell i'd give it 5 stars easy and it'd be holy grail status
I used this leave-in conditioner and it did absolutely NOTHING for my hair. It's basically just cloudy water. My spritzer with peppermint oil, coconut oil and cantu conditioner was more effective as a leave-in than this stuff. Don't waste your money!
I don't really like this stuff. It's not really moisturizing and it sucks as a refresher. If anything, my hair feels dry after using it and I think there may have been a slight formula change because it smells a little different and seems to be too thick to come out in a mist anymore, the last couple of bottles have been coming out in a stream regardless of what spray thing i use.
Love love love! I am on my third bottle of this stuff. My first impression of this was awful. I tried to detangle wet hair with this leave-in and failed. It felt like I was spraying fragrant water in my hair. I put it away and didn't look at it again for weeks. Then, I read the bottle lol. I've been using it all the ways it says to and more. It's a great refresher.
I have found that the Jane Carter line is not for me. When I used this product initially it did nothing and as the day went on my hair became very dry. Also the scents she uses in her products are VERY strong and perfumy like alcohol based fragrances.
News Flash: This is NOT a conditioner! Okay this is very different from most conditioners and I think people who have used it would agree with me. In my opinion, it should not have the name leave in conditioner on it because it can be used for so many things. The Best thing that you could do with this product is to spray a generous amount on before you use a blow dryer or sit under one. Believe me, It does wonders when heat styling your hair. I also use it as a refresher. I only spritz 4 or 5 times at least 12 inches away from my head. You can use it as a pro-conditioner or after you have shampooed your heair and it is still damp. You instantly get that softened touch. You can also use this as your protien or moisture sealant. It doesn't really moistened the hair but it does help it to grow or protect from heat damage and after. I have not used this as a leave in conditioner at all after i watched the youtube tapes. The Name Should Definitely Change to Heat Protectant! It has a 1% milk texture and smells just like a sunflower and vevry strong. I reccomend getting this only for those of us who like to use heat (condition, straighten, overnight treatmnent, etc.)
I reakky hate the smell, it just smelled odd to me. I sprayed this on wet hair and it was fine, but in the long run this left my hair very dry.
I'm really disappointed with this product...a lot of reviews mentioned how moisturizing this was but that was not my case :( I love using organic products and my hair definitely loves them as well but this left my hair dry and frizzy!! It felt like it was going to work when I sprayed on wet hair and I can see the oils glistening...but few hours later my hair looked like (no joke) those cartoons when they got electrified LOL!! I absolutely love the smell and soooo wish this could work for my curls but they did not like it...they felt and looked dry and the frizz was just on some other level I've never seen before...I tried this with other products sooo many times and they all gave me the same results :( but I'm not giving up...something tells me this would work if I ever go back to my flat iron lol...I don't want to give it 1 curl so 2 because the price and the smell is wonderful :)
Love it! Smells very nice, especially for spring/summer. It's water based which my hair loves. I use this as a daily moisturizer and it detangles wonderfully. #stapleproduct
I have 4C hair and for some reason my hair would not feel moisturized using this spray right after a wash. Now a day or 2 later when I used it to re-twist or rebraid it worked well as a moisturizer.
Waste of money as far as a leave it. I gave it 2 stars however because it smells great. It has a very fresh scent. Also, it works pretty well to liven up second day curls. I'd never buy the product again however.
Me- Type 4A. Natural for 3 years, responsibly natural for 1 year. Rating- Took 1 curl away for smell and 1 curl away for lack of effectiveness. Smell- Almost like the conditioner but just not as powerful. Still an annoying smell. Makes My Hair Feel Like- Stripped and dry. Although in the beginning it does make my hair slick. Pros- Price is good. Cons- Drys out my hair, makes it feel stripped, smells funny, does nothing for my hair. Remarks- After using the shampoo and conditioner i would spray my hair with this leave in to keep my hair moist for twist outs. So far up to this point my hair is drying fast and it feels stiff. Like I said in the previous review this product is very light. I think it would be useful for summer time with the heat and humidity or type 3 and lower possibly. If you have long 4a hair like naptural85 or kimmay (from youtube) this may work for you. My hair is short and frizzy and this doesnt help.Like the shampoo and conditioner it feels like my hair is eating the product or soaking it in cause after a few seconds my hair feels dry and stripped as it did right after shampooing it. Of course the smell is not my bag. If you use the revitalizing shampoo, nutrient replenishing conditioner, leave in and curl defining cream your hair will smell like this products until you wash it!! Or drown it out with something else, which guess what, the smell comes back with a vengeance.
De-tangles as it should. Makes hair easier to comb. Not sure if it contributed to the overall dryness of my hair after using this line of product.
I am so disappointed with this product but I am not surprised at the outcome. Again it smells great but it does little to revitalize my curls on day 2 without having to fully condition my hair all over again.
i feel like i wasted money on this. it doesnt really "refresh" my style, and its not so great as a leave-in. water refreshes my hair better than this. This stuff....i had to spray a ton of it on ,and it just doesnt work for me. didnt really have enough moisture or...anything.
This leave in dried out my hair. I had to take it back to Whole Foods for a refund. My hair doesn't respond well to runny conditioners. I need something thicker.
very moisturizing, yet very light. i use this along with nourish and shine daily to refresh my kccc style. this will be a staple of mine
I like to spray this in my hair while its wet but I don't think this is a great curl refresher. It tends to frizz my curls and it seems like I have to spray way too much.
I love the consistancy. I've discovered the hard way that my fine hair will not tolerate heavy leave-ins. This stuff is great. Definitely wakes your curls up.
This is the best leave-in that I've had so far because it does not dry my hair. Even when I want to refresh curls, it doesn't dry out my hair. The smell is strong enough so that u don't want to overdo the application.
I really wanted my hair to like this product, but it dried my hair out completely, and it made my scalp itch.
It's alright....nothing spectacular for me. It's a liquid to re-moisturize 2nd or 3rd day hair but left a coating of sorts on my hair. Average performance but great price! Smell leaves something to be desired.
This leave-in detangles & moisturizes my hair well. The bottle lasts me for a long time. The price is an additional plus! It's light and watery, which is great b/c I have fine hair.
I really like this product. I use it on 3 or 4 day old hair and it keeps my hair moisturized. On freshly washed hair, I need to use another product underneath. I also love the $9 price tag.
Another wonderful product from Jane Carter. I use all of her line except the shampoo since it has sulfates in it, but WOW this conditioner rocks for my fine, blonde, frizzy curly hair.
My favorite leave in spray, I was looking for a vitamin based leave in that wouldn't weigh my hair down so I could use it to refresh my curls, this is it, and I'm in love with the smell too, it's kinda vanilla citrusy
I will definetly keep this in stock. I am giving it 4 curls because it did not work well to detangle my hair when wet. However, its good for restyling amd refreshing my curls or curly fro several days after washing.
I like it, it softens and moisturizes and has a great smell. I use it right after I co-poo each week.
I know I'm an "outsider" as I have relaxed hair, but this is the best de-tagler I have ever used. It dramatically cut down on the amount of hair I lose when combing out after washing. I actually like the scent, its very flowery. I'm on my 4th bottle. I love it!
