Hair type: mixed, 3C/4A. Liked the Mixed Chicks line a lot at first, but have since moved on. In general, the Mixed Chicks line left my hair overburdened/heavy with product, with too much crunch, too little volume, and next-day frizzies. Of all the MC products, I liked the shampoo the best. My hair felt clean and moisturized. I recommend it as a back-up product though, because there are better shampoos out there.

My hair loves this shampoo. I love the smell and all of the lather that it produces. I use a lot of products on my hair and I do mean a lot so co washing doesn't really get all of the product buidup out. I also use this after a hot oil treatment to remove the excess oil from my hair. It doesn't require much product to use and it is the best smelling shampoo I have ever used. Other than the high price for a small bottle, Im completely satisfied.

I was so excited to try this product on my 3C mixed hair. I could not be more disappointed. Yes, it did lather up a great deal but it made my hair more knotted than usual. It was such a tangled mess I had to use a lot of conditioner before I could even get a finger through my hair let alone a wide tooth comb. I really have no problem splurging on hair products but the bottom line is this product is way too pricey for such a tiny bottle and left my hair in worse condition than most drug store brand shampoos. Very disappointed in this entire line altogether.

I bought this product and was very excited about trying it but I didnt find it to be anything special. I am actually all around disappointed with the mixed chick line. I will not be repurchasing this product.

This stuff is a little better than regular shampoo, but not the best. Also, the price doesn't help either. Probably not repurchasing.

Let me start off that i purchased this item just by seeing it on the shelf of my beauty supply store and saw that it said "MIXED CHICKS" so i was like im mixed that would be perfect for me -__-(wrong) i used this and it made my hair so knotted and dry it was horrible i had to immediately deep condtion AGAIN just to get my hair some moisture..i realized that the reason this stuff was so bad was because it had sulfates in it...i was so made i paid $20 for this!

Stripped my hair so bad it felt like straw. I'd rather use it as a clarifying shampoo once a month.

Omg! This product made my hair feel like a Brillo pad. It took days for my hair to recover! This stuff is going strait in the garbage.

TERRIBLE. Lathered up alot, but that I didn't mind. What I DID mind was how dry it made my hair...so dry it started breaking off!!!! So glad it was only a little sample tube. Total fail.

Dries my hair & scalp. My scalp get very itchy sometimes after using this shampoo. Smells good, too much lather. Better for summer use.

thought because my daughter is mixed this work wonders on her hair. boy was i wrong! dried her hair out more. the glosser in the set was actually pretty good though. waste of my money.

When I first used this product in 2007 or 2008, my hair loved it. Now, it makes my hair a bit dry. It does a good job really cleaning the hair.

I purchased this shampoo, looking for a nice, weekly cleanse. It definitely cleanses and if I wanted to use this product, I would only use it as a monthly/quarterly clarifier. It left my curl defined BUT stripped it of a lot of moisture and my have felt like dry pasta noodles. No ma'am!

Pricey and contains a sulfate which I thought wasn't well-suited to kinky hair. Smells good which is why this product rated a 2, but I won't purchase this again. Also left hair and scalp feeling dry. I have purchased better shanpoos from the drugstore.

It defines your curls very well but made my scalp itch way too much. If you have sensitive skin this is not the product for you. Also I'm a little iffy about the ingrediants.

Shampoo very drying. Leave in conditioner is very sticky and smells too clinical. I don't think this brand agrees with my hair.

Pretty good product. Had a great lather but I felt my hair was a little dryer than normal. I'm sure if I used a good leave-in conditioner I would be just fine.

A little goes a long way with this shampoo. It does the trick and cleans the hair, but I think it may strip some natural oils too, because it is a bit drying. For me, this shampoo is best used when I really want to get my scalp clean.

I love this product so far! You don't need a lot - I just wash at the root/scalp not the ends. I just let the shampoo run through the rest of my hair. The smell is yummy...

The first thing that went thru my mind was "what a great scent". The smell is fantastic. Another good thing is that the shampoo lasts long in use. But Im only giving it 3 curls since my hair feels dry after using it and sice it contains sulfates which Im trying to avoid.

What ever is in this stuff, my hair LOVES it. I use the shampoo, then the deep conditioner and the leave-in to finish off and my curls come out STUNNING everytime! I LOVE MIXED CHICKS PRODUCTS!

I'm trying the no poo regimen most of the time I wash...but use this when I do shampoo and LOVE IT!! Doesn't make my hair feel stripped, feels like I'm adding back to my hair-which isn't the case for most shampoos.

i tried the sample and was only able to get one washing from that sample - i did get a clean rinse and my hair did not feel stripped at all - i would use this again

I really like this shampoo but if I use it every day it drys my hair, so I have to alternate it with a sulfate-free shampoo. It really has a nice smell and it works well with the other products in the line. I love Mixed Chicks!!!

Very nice poo!! It cleaned without over-stripping my hair. I actually only needed 1 wash. Will definitely keep using.

I recieved a sample of this product in the mail along with my regular order of styling cream and I really liked it. It has a rich lather and when paired with the rest of the mixed-chicks line, everyone noticed a difference in the look and feel of my hair. It improves shine and texture. Definately a good buy!!
