Smells good enough to eat ! omg! this leaves my 3c curls so moisturized. It also helps create more defined curls as it states on the jar.

I can finally write a review on this product, since I used it for the first time today. I absolutely love it! After washing my hair hair, and doing an oil rinse, I placed this conditioner on my hair and sat under my steamer for about 45 minutes. When I washed it out, my hair felt so incredibly soft and my curls were defined, moisturized and springy. I can tell when my hair really likes a product because of this. Also, the smell was light and fresh. I detangled afterwards, and it was basically a breeze. This conditioner left my hair thick 4a hair feeling amazing! It will definitly be one of my staple products!

This is a really great deep conditioning treatment. It leaves my hair easily detangled, and sooo soft. The only negative is the scent. I absolutely hate the smell of it. Since it has protein in it, I rotate it with my other deep conditioning treatments (so I use it about one-two times per month).

It could be that my hair just doesn't like the protein in this. I love Curl Rehab with a passion, but this is a disappointment so far. My hair is no better off after using it, whether as a RO or DT. :( I'm also not fond of the scent, which smells like bubble gum to me. I gave it 2 stars instead of 3 because it's also wicked expensive.

I love the smell of this product but I have other products that can moisturize my hair better than this one. It did clump my curls nicely.

My first CJ purchase was HBDF. It still remains a favorite of mine. The smell alone keeps me buying but it does the job PERFECTLY....it has the right amount of Protein AND moisture in it!

One of the most moisturizing deep treatments I have tried yet. I simply left it in my hair for an hour, and when I rinsed it out, my hair felt like silk. I actually prefer this to the Curl Rehab.

this is the best deep conditioner i have used. it makes my hair very soft. i put it on in shower, put a shower cap over it, after shower add my heat turban wrap for 20 minutes, rinse the deep fix out all the way, add styler (currently aloe fix gel) and my hair is great! this is not good as a leave in, but it is amazing as a deep conditioner.

Wow, I'm amazed at all the bad reviews that this got. I loved it! It just melts in my hair and reminds me a lot of the Miss Jessie's Rapid Recovery Treatment (minus all the gross ingredients). This brought my super dry ends back to life, it detangled extremely well and that little 0.5 oz sample packet was enough to cover my entire 3c head (5-6in all around). This deep conditioner works well enough that I would buy the full jar!

It's not the worst, but I'm glad I just had a sample and not a whole jar. It smelled like banana at first and then a really loud bubble gum smell. :( My hair felt dry and coated. I had to cleanse and condition my hair again afterward. I think less thick conditioner are better for my hair.

When I first used this dc, it made my hair so silky..I was excited!!! It might make your hair over moisturized if used more than once a week. It will make your hair feel soft but look dry, if overly used. It does clump the curls!!! Great product! 4 curls because it doesn't feel as moisturized when first applied after rinsing.

This deep conditioner smelled amazing! I was so excited to use it! However, it went on kinda greasy and oily. My hair has low porosity and needs a lot of product, but this just felt bad. Then I rinsed it out and my hair felt dry, which was surprising considering how greasy it felt. I used it twice, just to give it a chance, but it reacted the same. Bummer, bc I really wanted to like this product. I gave it away at a product swap.

My hair is actually more than one type, I have a lot of it and most of it is thick but it runs the course from soft and wavy to coarse and kinky.
This is the only conditioner and product I need in high heat / humidity. It got me through two Caribbean vacations with my hair looking great and not frizzy. I load it on in the shower than rinse some of it and distribute the rest evenly. Then I twist my hair a little and wellah, smooth, firzz free curls.
In the Pacific Northwest, where I live, it's a conditioner only; in this climate it's a little heavy to leave in.
The smell is heavenly too.

I didnt like this. It made my hair kinda stiff, like it had some hold to it which is not what I look for in a DC. However if I remember correctly it did moisturize my hair. However the stiffness blew it for me.

Love love love this stuff!!! Instantly moisturizes your hair! I used this after a protein treatment that left my hair really dry and frizzy...I was freaking out! But then the moment I started working this deep conditioner through my hair...OMG! I'm telling you...this stuff is the bomb.com!!!! Plus you don;t have to use alot and it smells like banana Laffy Taffy!!!

Best DC I have used with my steamer definitely. The shot of protein keeps my hair from being over moisturized and poofy.

This is a long time favorite for me. I don't use it for a while and then I have my curls spend 30 minutes with it and I am thrilled. Very moisturizing and a great detangler. I have put it in the front row of my cabinet. A classic from Curl Junkie.

i like this conditioner, although i am not sure its worth $18 maybe $12.
It has a strong banana scent(which i like). I have 3c/4a hair that tangles VERY easily and this conditioner doesnt make me feel like im about to break my arm while combing my hair.
Although i do not like the price, if i do not find a cheaper replacement i WILL be purchasing more.

This product has a wonderful aroma. Unfortunately, it did little for my hair. It didn't leave my hair moisturized and detangled. I wish I could find another use for it, especially given that it cost $18.00. ::SIGH::

This is a treat to my hair! Smells wonderful, leaves hair soft and frizz free. Does not over condition or appear to weigh down my curls. It is one of my favorites!

The smell is amazing, but it didn't do a very good job of detangling. Works exceptionally well with KCCC, no flakes at all. Leaving in for 5+ minutes definitely a must. Unfortunately, I have to use so much of it at a time that it is just not very economical.

I alternate this tub of yummy goodness with Curl Rehab. It's a fantastic DT but also an excellent rinse out or LI. It's my fave conditioner for moisture and curl enhancement.

CJ HBDF is my latest love from Curl Junkie. In particular my daughter's hair absolutely adores this conditioner. It is very thick and rich. The smell is like banana bubble gum and it lingers in the very lightest way in your hair. The consistency IS like mashed banana's which is interesting. Before you reach your finger in you really do think it's just a container of banana's that have been smushed like you do for banana bread.
When you reach in to scoop out a bit though it is immediately obvious that this is not mashed banana's. Contrary to what your eyes are telling you your fingers and hair will tell you this is a conditioner with some Umph. It goes on your hair extremely smoothly and has excellent slip for those who need it. Slip allows you to detangle easily and minimize breakage and time to hair completion.
WE LOVE THIS CONDITIONER!

I loved the way it smelled! I expected the banana smell to be overwhelming but the mixture makes your hair smell like bubblegum =) I followed instructions carefully and came out with great results! My hair was ultra soft and silky, like I had just gotten it cut and it's a great moisturizing treatment.

This stuff smells great! It works decent i guess. I think i need to try it again. It's moisturizing. I give it that but it's a little to heavy for me. I much prefer the JessiCurl deep treatment. This smells better than jessicurl though.

This is a wonderful conditioner for my very dry hair. Not only was my hair soft and moisturized, my hair had a light, delicious smell all day!

I have tried this product several times, applying more each time and leaving it on longer. But, my curls still don't seem as moisturized as I would expect for a deep conditioner. It might work better as a daily conditioner for me because it does okay with detangling. I would REALLY prefer a different scent.

I'm about to buy my second jar, even if it does smell like bubblegum to me. It detangles and moisturizes my hiar like a dream. It's a heavy conditioner I can finger detangle with, and when I rinse, I leave some in.

I was really excited to try this product given the great reviews and was anxiously waiting for the package. I clarified my hair and then proceeded to apply the treatment. As soon as I looked at at, I knew that it was not going to be for me. Extremely heavy, oily, gunky, greasy. Nonetheless, I applied it in sections throughout my wet hair. It did nothing for detangling or slippage. I sat under the heat cap for 15 minutes and then rinsed it out. My hair was soft, but felt very heavy. It was hard to apply my leave-in because of the build-up. My hair dried and it was unruly, frizzy, and crunchy. There was some nice curl definition, but I did not enjoy the heaviness of this product. Although my hair is thick and dry, it is very fine and therefore gets weighed down easily. The search for the perfect deep treatment continues...

L-O-V-E, love this conditioner. Moisture is a big concern for my dry curls and this conditioner did a great job. And it was a pleasure to deep condition with this as it smells so yummy--like fresh baked banana bread.

Hair type 3c/4a - This has become my new favorite. I use my thermal heat cap with this conditioner and when I rinse it out, it's so soft and detangled. You've got to try this!

I used this for 20 minutes under the dryer with a cap--it is marvelous...I also used it without heat for 40 min. or so and it was just wonderful.
My hair feels so soft and moisturized. Even compared to the $45.00 dollar moisture treatment by Leonor Greyl...Curl Junkie Hibiscus & Banana Deep Fix is much better and more moderately priced! Exquisite!

This stuff is excellent. It made my hair so soft and silky. This frizz was gone too! Although, I don't really like the smell, and it doesn't smell like bananas at all to me.

I was very excited to try this and I got amazing results. My very favorite product I've tried since coming to NC.com! The smell is intense (although good) but wears off after a while.

Excellent DT. Leaves my hair extremely soft and lucious, smelling faintly of sweet bananas afterwards. I cant stop touching my hair once its dry!

This conditioner works really good! The bottom 2 inches of my curls were really dry (I think the sun was frying them) after I rinsed my hair I put the conditioner on the ends, wrapped it up in a bun and left it on for 1 hour. Even after just 3 days of doing this it feels much softer and healthy!

This is the BEST natural deep conditioning treatment that I've ever had. The smell is great, and my hair felt like silk. This even makes your other products (e.g. leave-in and gel or curling creme) perform better. Highly recommended!!!!

This DT was wonderful. It left my hair feeling so much better after a over processing horror story. I used the Guava & Protein Deep Fix Reparative Conditioner prior to this. Conditioner. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Both!!
