I absolutely love aloe vera gel. I feel that it's pretty much perfect. Actual hair gels contain different alcohols, fragrances, and other things, but this is just 100% aloe vera which sets it apart from them, plus it has different uses other than for hair. It's great for styling, especially for twist outs, as long as you add some type of moisturizing product with it so that it has some shine, and isn't really dry. I would 100% recommend this to anyone, and I would definitely buy this again.

I have used this product for years and my hair loves it! Great definition when applied over my leave in conditioner and my hair is still soaking wet. Great product, great price!

I use this as a hair gel for when I need a little extra definition and hold. I love that there's no color in it and it's a great price.

I love this gel when I first apply it to soaking wet hair because it has great slip and it also elongates my curls. Unfortunately when it dries it tends to dry into a frizzy mess once you try to fluff the crunch out. The trick with this is to use this sparingly under some type of heavy duty sealer because this will dry your hair out. I am still trying to figure out the right combination for my hair but I know eventually I will get it right. But as of right now I will stick to my HGs during the week and play with the AVG on the weekends.

I love AVG! I use it on my body and now my hair. I use it to refresh my hair when I make a spritz, it's really GREAT for that. And I also use it when I make a DT. As for using it as a regular gel, it doesn't really have any hold for that.

Afters years and trying several products, this one is still on my HG list. I always get nice plump, moisturized curls with this, and it has a nice hold (but not dry or crunchy).

This gel does nothing for me. Its like putting water on my hair.

This is one of my HG's! I was skeptical when first using it, but does wonders. I use for second day hair or as a little extra hold over moose. I love the shine too.

The non aloe ingredients in this make my hair feel dry.

Just used this on my sisters 4a hair for a twist out...not the best definition, but it certainly kept it soft and workable... good stuff!

I would never use this for a wash and go because i don't think it has a hold, but as far as gel that is good for smoothing edges goes, i give this 5 curls

Rating: Product Rating: 4 Curls

Not enough hold for me, but this has become a must have in my daily routine! It helps to tame frizzies on days I don't co-wash, and helps with curl formation. I also use it on my face at night, and anywhere else that might need soothing!

Love, love, love this stuff! I only gave it 4 curls because there isn't enough hold for me (it's not a hair gel) but this is one of my HG products for sure. I mix it with a little bit of LA Looks Sport gel and it's amazing. It acts just like DevaCurl AnGel or Arc AnGel, only better (I control how much hold/crunch it has) and so much cheaper.

This product, is good, not great. The gel really weighs my hair down, and my bangs are heavy enough. What I do like about this is when my hair is drying, and it's starting to come out dry and frizzy, I can just scrunch this into my hair, and it comes out not half bad, with the exception of the heavyness.

Wonderful! It's cheap, and gives me softly defined curls that stay frizz free ALL DAY! It gets a little crunch at first but it scrunches out easily. I swear my hair has been in better condition since using this too.

This gel doesn't have enough hold to be a good hair gel for me. However, it is perfect for scrunching out the crunch. I never get after scrunching frizz when I use this gel. I also love to use it on my body!

I can't use this like a normal gel, but it's the first product I've ever found that I can add to dry hair to lessen frizz without actually destroying my curls.

On first use it's moisturizing. On subsequent uses, it's drying going on & after wards makes my hair feel greasy. It doesn't have any hold, though I know it's not supposed to since it's not an actual hair gel.

I'm a fan. It does the job -- shines and defines -- and you can't beat the price! I give it only 3 curls because it does make my 4A curls really crunchy.

Love this for adding moisture to my dry hair. I mix this with a little QCCC and scrunch, then diffuse until partially dry. After scrunching out the crunch I have big soft moisturized curls. Fantastic!

This may be my HG! I love this gel, has just enough hold but not too much. It worked MUCH better than Angell for me. If I put too much in, I can scrunch out any crunch. Also, I love that this is a gel that is healing rather than damaging my hair. And it is so cheap!! I got the 100% more 24 oz for about $3 at Walmart! Great product.

I have found my HG! Perfect gel for anyone looking for soft, defined, shiny curls. Not crunchy. Made my curls round and natural-looking. No alcohol, no cones. Never thought to put aloe in my hair but I am in love! Made my botticelli curls spring back to life after being tortured by TRESemme Bouncy Curls gel (had too many cones). I used to be an AnGell fanatic. I wouldn't settle for anything else. This is SOOO much better!! And CHEAPER!! The CVS version (which I use) costs about $2 compared to a $16 dollar bottle of AnGell. If you hate it you can always use it on cuts and sunburns, you've got nothing to lose! p.s. my current pic was taken with bouncy curls in my hair so my curls are totally stretched out. I need to take one with FOTE in my hair!!! Get it...now.

It gives great shine and a good amount of hold and frizz protection to the hair. Unfortunately, now I no longer use gel in my hair, but when I used to, this product used to be a favorite of mines, especially when I desired to wear my hair in slicked back styles.

This gel approaches HG status for me. I use it in place of regular gel over leave-in and sometimes curl creme. It does not have the strong hold ingredients in other gels, so it doesn't dry as stiff and crunchy and it allows my weaker curls to find their own way into ringlets (as opposed to stronger gels, which freeze them in place where they are scrunched). It also does a great (although not perfect) job at reducing frizz and enhancing curl, even on dry hair. A little more frizz reduction in high humidity and it would get 4 curls.

This gel is absolutely great at defining my curls although it dries with a crunchy finish.
