Smells nice (artificially) and controls frizz by coating the hair in silicone, so can't moisture can't enter or exit the hair shaft. It won't improve the health of your hair. In short, definitely NOT curly girl friendly.

I have wavy hair 2b/2c that tend to curl nicely after washing them but through the day they weigh down and become less wavy. I have found a perfect combination of products that helps my hair to be curly throughout the day. I start with washing my hair daily with Kinky Curly Come Clean shampoo. It cleans hair very well, some will say it stripps your hair, but really if you have wavy hair you want your hair clean, because any buildup will case your curls/waves to straighten out. I don't find this shampoo to be drying so it works perfectly with the combination of products I put on my hair after washing them with this shampoo. After the shampoo I use Kinky Curly Knot Today conditioner. I apply it in the shower, comb my hair and rinse the conditioner out (I used to apply it after shower and leave it in but it would weight down my hair to much). The Knot Today is a great detanger and it gives great smoothness to your hair without weighing them down and causing buildup. I believe the Come Clean shampoo and Knot Today complement each other perfectly with getting my hair very clean and later detangling and smoothing out with the conditioner. I would highly recommend that you use both for best results. Then I lightly pat my hair to remove excess water (so they don't drip) and apply Moroccan oil. This thing is pricy but it is like food for your hair, makes them soft, shiny and they grow like crazy. I apply one pump onto wet/dump hair (my hair is on the shorter side) and this thing last you for ever. It will not add definition, just make your hair healthier. What is also amazing about this product is that it will NOT weigh down your hair or make it feel greasy (even thought it is an oil). After I apply Moroccan oil I apply for curl definition Kinky Curl Curling Custard. This product is great in the sense that it works a little like gel but once it dries out you can't really tell you have put something in your hair (it disappears but at the same time makes your hair curl and hold the waves/curls very nicely throughout the day). Very light weight, does not weight hair down and does not dry out hair (at least with the combination of products I am using), I would highly recommend it to those who look for great curl definer and holder. With this combination of products my hair is healthy, shiny, and curls beautifully throughout the day.

Oh my goodness, I love this stuff! I colored my hair today and after conditioning it, I applied the Moroccanoil for the very first time. I always let my hair air dry and it usually takes 2 hours. Today it was only about 50 minutes, and my hair was so well defined (I did apply gel too), and shiny. I am very happy with the results! My hairstylist recommended this product and said that all of his clients that have used it have amazing things to say about it as well. It was pretty expensive, but I was told it should last a long time.

this oil is amazing!!!! i use on wet hair and my hair dries sooo silky! it doesnt hold but it lays your hair nicely if you can wear your curls naturally. it goes superbly with a styling or holding product also. the cheaper version of this....one and only argan oil works just as good or better for less than half the price!! get it! i get mine on amazon. lovem both!

Love the Moroccanoil Original Treatment! It doesn't weigh my hair down and smells heavenly! I apply it to damp hair before my other leave-in creams or gels, and it also doubles as a nice defence against heat, if I'm ever straightening or blow-drying my hair. The only downside is the price and that it contains silicones (which I try to avoid if I can).

This is the BEST thing that ever happened to my natural hair. Moroccan Oil combined with my Ovations Cell Therapy has made my hair softer and more manageable than ever before. It has afforded me the opportunity to completely skip the detangling step after washing, because I can comb straight through after the rinse!

I really like this product.. it took my 3B curls down to more of a wave. I loved it until I realized that it had silicons (which are bad for your hair) in it .. but it's still a good product!

What I love about this oil is that it makes your hair very shiny and soft!. I use it after the shower if I just want to wear my hair a little more "natural" rather than with my usual defining products. I like it because it softens the hair and I look more wash and go without trying too hard or looking too frizzy/poofy. =)

I love Moroccan Oil because it can used in so many different ways for curly hair. I put a dime-sized amount on my hair after showering and mix it with the Moroccan Oil Hydrating Styling Cream. I also mix the oil with the Restorative Hydrating Mask from the line once a week for a deep conditioning treatment. All in all, this product is a great versatile tool that really works to calm my frizzy, unruly hair. It leaves my hair glossy, soft, and I get compliments all the time from strangers about my curls! I also just created a video about how to use all of the Moroccan Oil products together for curly hair.

This product is great to be used w/Jane Carter’s Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner. I washed it out, and used Moroccan Oil. My hair is extremely soft and the curls are so bouncy! It smells ridiculous good! and it is very moisturized and not oily at all! I love this combo! Be cautious of the silicone I suppose... I use it about once or twice a month! Wayyyy too expensive!! and I use a 1/4 of the bottle every time due to my 3C thirsty hair type so it gets 4 curls not 5.

I have type 3b hair. This oil smells absolutely delicious--so much so that it almost makes it worth using. It contains the much-hyped "argan oil" but in a blend with several silicones (e.g. dimethicones) which are usually not great for curly hair. Whatever the anti-drying benefits or argan oil, they're going to be contradicted by the silicone in here. There appear to be 3 silicones listed first, which means they're in greater quantity in the product than the actual argan oil. (I think silicone-containing products are probably usually excellent for those in the 1 and 2 categories, however.) It doesn't really give much curl formation, but it does give some frizz control and smooths things out a bit. It is good for letting my hair have more body. I just got a fresh haircut with lots of layers, and this is a good product for diffusing and letting my hair be voluminous. That's pretty much it's only use. I would not use this product regularly on my 3b hair because it feels like it might lead to build-up and/or drying in the long run. But I will use it occasionally when I want more volume, less control, and have time to diffuse dry. I wash and condition with Deva No Poo and One Condition; I've tried many products, and these are the best for maintaining my hair and de-tangling it. They smell great too. I also use the Deva styling products.

My hair really loves this product. I've used it mixed with my conditioner, alone on wet hair as a leave-in, and on dry hair as a shiner. Hair feels really soft and not "product-y" - especially my 4b parts.

Got intense frizz after using this. Even my hands felt powdery dry a few minutes after handling this oil, like the oil part had absorbed but left behind a powdery finish.
