When I first tried Curls Milkshake, it was rainy and humid that week. In those conditions it did seem to soften my relentlessly dry hair, but I'm transitioning and I think it takes a little heavier of a moisturizer to suite my natural coils. I think the weather helped keep my hair feeling softer/more moisturized, because the Curls Milkshake didn't seem to perform that well when the rain cleared up. My hair was also pretty frizzy during that time, so it definitely didn't work for me as frizz-control. I want a soft, defined hold, but I think I needed a heavier product because my coils don't easily get defrizzed or defined. It might be a good leave-in/ de-tangler for some, but I don't think this product is for me.

This was ok as a 2nd day product, or just as a moisturizer, but it was not amazing. There are lots of products with the same purpose as this that simply work a lot better, such as Curl Junkie CCCC Lite. It did make my hair soft and was a little curl enchancing, but I found the smell too artificial amd strong. The worst part about this is that with many gels it will form nasty white clumps. The whole CURLS line is pretty disappointing, I am sorry to say.

It has a very artificial vanilla scent to it. It hardly does anything to moisturize, soften, or define one's curls. Also, it doesn't appear to fully penetrate the hair either. And, it provides "0" frizz protection. Another BAD CURLS product that I shouldn't have ever wasted my time on.

I LOVE this! I use it on wet hair after curls moisturizer (like the bottle says) as well as some other products. On dry hair I first apply curls moisturizer and then this. Best. Hair. Ever. I actually got complimented by 7, yes 7 people the first time I used it. It also gives me amazing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th day hair. Ive never even tried to go longer. It doesn't feel producty or sticky or crunchy at all and it smells like cake batter. Its not strong smelling but somehow it does overtake the smells of other products (including ACV, yay!) and leaves my hair smelling yummy all day. So not only do I get complemented on the look and feel of my hair, but also the smell. HG!!!

I absolutely LOVE this product. It does a great job of redefining my curls. I use it as a leave in and I also mix a little with water in the morning to give it a little life to my hair. I have two complaints about the product: a) price b) it does not help at all with frizz which is a little disappointing. Maybe it will work better by layering the products.

I am a 4a/3c and I use Curls Milkshake as a leave-in moisturizer after washing & conditionioning my hair. I put it on under EcoStyler gel. Although it's marketed as a curl lotion for finer-textured hair, for me it works best as a leave-in & I love it! It keeps my hair much more moisturized than most other leave-ins I've tried save KCKT, but I much prefer the consistency and the scent of the Milkshake. It also layers very well with my Ecostyler. It is pricey, but I don-t use more than a quarter-sized amount each time (My hair is short). I would recommend it! I only gave 4 curls because of the price, because it can't be bought in stores and because I don't know how well it really works as a styler.

I love this! The scent is just-enough. It doesn't give me any hold, but I don't mind because I only use it after washing & conditioning my hair. I part my hair into 4 sections, then use about a quarter-sized amount of the CURLS Milkshake per section and comb it through. Then I seal with oil. After I twist my hair with Kinky Curly Knot Today & Curling Custard, my twist-outs ALWAYS come out dope! My hair feels soft & moisturized for days after I wash & style, a point which took me a long time to get to! Also, the bottle is pricey, but because I use so little at a time, it's OK with me. I used like 1/3 of the bottle the first time, then figured out that less is definitely more. I will repurchase because I've tried many other moisturizers and this is my fave thus far :-)

I enjoy the consistency of the product and use it to refresh my twist-outs. It is very moisturizing and spreads evenly. It does not smell as yummy as other CURLS products but it is still nice. I am not willing to repurchase because I feel there are comparable products at a lower price point that provide similar results.

WoW! This is a fabulous detangler (and it smells yummy)! It’s seriously on par with my beloved Kinky Curly Knot Today. Sheds and tangles slipped right out. It could be a good rival of my KCKT but it has some flaws. 1st it loses a ½ curl because it is marketed as a styler/curl lotion/curl cream when it should be a detangler or leave-in conditioner. There are no holding ingredients in it whatsoever. 2nd, it loses a ½ curl for the price. $18 for an 8oz bottle and it’s terribly difficult to find this stuff in brick and mortar locations. 3rd, it loses a full curl for the amount of product I had to use. I have a ton of dense tight 3c/4a hair and I used almost half the bottle in one setting.

Thought this would be a styler but didn't work for me. I got too much frizz, no curl definition. But did give softness. Being a 3a, 2b, I think I need more help with curl definition and hold.

I have extremely damaged ends that don't seem to curl after years of straightening and dyeing. This product definitely made my hair manageable and soft. It is not intended as a styling product for hold. I don't even use it for frizz but it sure helps those damaged ends curl and seem lees damaged. One note if you have damaged thick coarse wavy hair mix with a little Gel les c (jealousy) but not before using Quenched CURLS Moisturizer. Your hair will be manageable and oh so soft.

Easy to apply. Smells very faint of vanilla. This is my staple under gel. Gel dries without crunch. My son who has much shorter hair also uses it and Milkshake defines his curls and leaves them soft.

Curls changed the formula on Milkshake in late summer 2008. Bad move. I LOVED the original product - it did wonders for my hair. Unfortunately, the new formula is AWFUL. It is very producty, weighs my hair down, and makes my curls go flat. My hair does not absorb it at all, so it is not moisturizing. In fact, my hair became drier using this. My milkshake is going in the trash. Very disappointing!

This product was recommended to me by my stylist and I really wanted it to work for my hair. It worked fine on some of my hair but caused the drier parts to feel even drier and straw-like. I think it may have something to do with the coconut oil as other products containing coconut oil have had the same affect on my hair in the past.

Lots of spider weby frizz. Encouraged curls nicely but too much frizz. Also, felt producty instead of just soft.

This is some GREAT stuff! I've tried so many products. Recently I tried Frederick Fekkai glossing cream and Mixed Chicks leave-in but they were both a bit heavy. Curls Milkshake has the perfect consistency for me. Milkshake works great on my wet and dry hair. The other two products are better suited for wet only. The scentsational SCENT is overwhelmingly deliciously smelling. Yummy! This product will always be in my possession.

I use this product as a styling product versus using it as a leave-in moisturizer/conditioner in my hair. It never weighs down my hair and it always leaves my hair looking soft. Also, I do like to layer Curls Euphoria Elixir over Curls Milkshake for added shine and frizz protectionwhen necessary. And, I never use Curls Milkshake without prepping my hair first with Curls Quenched.

I've used this as a leave-in conditioner and like it. I think it supposed to have some styling properties, also, but it didn't work for me as a styler.
