Left my curls looking and feeling like straw! This product doesn't even deserve 1 star!

I've been transitioning for about four months maybe, and I used this before I tried a protein treatment (my hair was legit falling out and needed it badly) I had been looking for a natural (see no sulfates) clarifying shampoo and this was the ONLY one i cud find. I think it worked excellently actually. Because I was new to this, I divided my hair into four sections and shampooed each section using CG method, I stayed under the water for a prettty long time and felt like my hair was SO MUCH Cleaner after and I did not notice any overwhelming dryness (remember this was at the intro to my CG method so I prob had so much crap in my hair from years of relaxing and using horrible products) The second time I used it (maybe six weeks later?), I thought it left my hair a lot dryer, (I mean, it is a clarifying shampoo) so I shampooed after w Sheamoisture then doubled my deep conditioning for that week . For me, I think its best to use it only when my hair feels reallly greasy and in need of a serious cleanse.

Overall my curls are 3b with some 3a on short layers on crown. My hair is color-treated, and naturally very dry, with medium-high porosity. When my hair is curly, it looks like I have a lot more hair than I actually have, and when it's straightened it's not smooth or bouncy. I've been CG for a few months, and wearing my hair curly-only. I've used Pure Curls twice so far over a 4 month period (once every two months). It really, really clarifies, and my hair has more shine and volume immediately after use. It's hard to find a sulfate-free clarifying shampoo, and I wouldn't want to use anything more powerful than this this one .Pure Curls smells fresh and citrusy and it foams on my hair. I find it very hard to rinse out because it seems to coat my hair. I can hear the foam in my hair even when I think it's rinsed, so I have to rinse again. My hair has gotten used to No-Poo or Co-Wash, so it goes into shock when I use Pure Curls. My hair bunches up on my head like a dried out ball of rope, and I need a LOT of rinse out and leave-in conditioner to both detangle and remoisturize my hair. However, I do see a positive difference after my hair dries. It looks more vibrant, and it responds better to styling products. -gardenerwithcurls

i like this clarifying shampoo b/c it doesn't have sulfates in it & i am on CG method. I plan on using it once a month or so just to more thoroughly remove product buildup & everyday toxins from my hair. I noticed after using it my hair did feel drier before applying conditioner but as my hair dried, my curls were shiny and bouncy. Smells awesome too.

I am a 2c/3a and although I try to not use cones, sometimes, my waves fall flat, and I have to use this poo to start all over again. It does not leave my hair dry or stripped, and with a condish afterward, my hair is nowhere near straw. So far, I really like this for a weekly deep clean.

This stuff smells great but I found that my hair was really dry afterward. I have super dry hair and it's more important for my shampoo to moisturize than clean (as crazy as that sounds). I was so disappointed :-(

I can't say I don't miss the lather from other shampoos but I won't deny that when I wash this out my hair feels brand new. It feels clean but not stripped. I keep this around because I have hard water where I live and this keeps the minerals from building up.

Best clarifying shampoo I've ever tried. Only one I've used that didn't leave my hair feeling..."petrified!" (Sorry, bad rhyme. I'll go away now. Thanks for reading, though!)

This is a product that isn't exactly a part of my normal hair regimen,but for a clarifying shampoo it actually doesn't leave the hair bone dry like a lot of clarifying shampoos do. Now, it will effectively get out any buildup that is in the hair and on the scalp. But, it does it in a slightly less harsher way.
