It is a medium weight curl cream that adds definition without hold. Purified water is the first ingredient so this is definitely meant to act as a moisturizer, but I found that I needed to seal it, in order to add shine to the hair. The jar says that it will "naturally elongate" the hair, but I didn't notice any obvious change in the amount of shrinkage in my daughter's hair. Custard is the perfect way to describe the texture of this thick and rich cream and it has a very light and pleasant scent. I suggest waiting until the hair is merely damp, and not soaking wet, to apply the custard, as it did not seem to soak into the hair when applied immediately after washing. We shampooed and then conditioned the hair and I attempted to use the custard as a detangler/leave in conditoner, but it didn't really work in that capacity. I recommend detangling with a leave in first, then using this after. My little girl's 4a/b curls were soft and very well defined, and though I would've liked for them to have more sheen, her hair did look beautiful. I would say that this is comparable to Shea Moisture's Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie , which we are already huge fans of. I think this is perfect for someone that is looking for something similar, but prefers products with a lighter scent. Ultimately, I think it is better suited for finer hair and perhaps even my own 3a/b curls.

This was too heavy for my dauther's 3c/4a hair and the glycerin eventually dried her hair out. I used the Moist Curls underneath it, but to no avail. I'm only going to give it 2 stars

I used this on my daughter's hair and it makes her hair easy to comb. The only downside is that her ends get really curly and dry be the end of the day.

I really like this product but I use it myself not a child. It might be too heavy for finer or less dense curls but it does leave my 3b curls soft and defined. This is the same as Curls Souffle but costs $2 less.

Used this on my 3 year old's 3c hair and it left white flakes on her hair. It also dried out her hair after a while. It smelled great though.

Curl Type:3C I actually liked this product and used it for a long time with styling gel..although I'm a adult. I smelled the Breule thats at Target and it smelled the same and is made by the same company so I figured I save some money. This stuff works well when wet, it defines and makes my curls look beautiful, but once it dries it leaves my hair dry, and I always had to reaply to maintain a moisture balance.

I use it on my son's hair, it's ok but a little too heavy for his thin hair, so I just use a dime size or less as a leave in, and then use his Carol's Daughter Hairmilk to finish

Heavenly scent. Mediocre conditioner or styling product. I had no slip or hold and was too heavy for 3B caucasian hair. I used this after the coconut dream conditioner, which seemed like the same product, only with better slip and lower price. I would recommend trying that as a more cost-effective leave-in. The oils in this product would probably be great on thicker, kinkier hair, though, hence my 3 rating.

This would be better for thicker, kinkier hair types. It was a little heavy for my 3a daughter's hair. But it works great in my thick 3b hair.
