I have 3c/4a hair and this gel gives me more curl definition than I have ever had in my life. When I applied it for the first time, I saw curls appear that I never knew I had. The back of my hair has always been really curly, but the front of my hair never showed a curl pattern, until this gel came into my life. Every strand of my hair is defined, I can't believe how well this gel has worked for my hair. I have tried other gels in the past such as ecostyler and activator gels, but I hated them. This gel does make my hair a little crunchy, but it probably is because I did not use a leave in. I refreshed my second day hair by letting my hair get wet in the shower for a few seconds and my curls popped like no other. I was shocked how well my hair bounced back on the second day. This gel is the bomb.com!!!

This gel was suggested to me by waterlily716. LOVE it. I actually used the LA Looks Sports gel and it's too heavy for my hair and leaves major crunch. BUT this has a lighter hold and its awesome. I'll actually be turning it into a spray gel, but I love it. I have 3a/b/c curls. If you put it on when your hair is damp, its best to do that. Awesome stuff.

I tried this gel on the recommendation of Waterlily 716. Hated it:( It was really sticky going on and gave me no curl definition or clumping at all. After it dried and I SOTC it left my hair very frizzy and just eh looking. It's hard for me to find a gel that can compete with the LA Looks Sports Gel! Love it!!!

I was really scared to try this because gels are always crunchy in my hair, but I was surprised how well this one worked! My hair is actually soft, smooth, and healthy-looking...I love it ^_^

I hate the hard crunchy feeling some gels give me. This gel, however, is pretty smooth. It adds shine and give my hair an amazing wavy pattern when applied to wet her. I pretty much love it!

Although, I have never experienced crunchiness, or dryness this gel (for me) is really good. It doesn't have as much hold as Ecostyle. With this gel when I wake up, my hair is not dried out or hard. It makes my hair really soft. Even after I have left it in over night. I also like how my hair looks when it's applied.

4/a. This is a good stand by. I’m pretty heavy handed and to avoid crunchy hair I mix the gel, leave-in, oil in a small bowl and then apply it to my hair. love it.

I got this because of all of the great reviews. But unfortunately, it just doesn't work for me. I used it yesterday after co-washing (used a leave-in before) and halfway through the day my hair just went...POOF! and i wasnt even outside. basically indoors all day, and THAT happens? plus, when I woke up this morning (i tied my hair in a bun) and took my hair down...it was a dry, frizzy mess. and when i say dry....i mean DRY. But i tried it out again after using a different leave in....it just doesnt work for me. oh well.

Its ok,it can flake. I prefer Eco Styler Olive Oil gel best.

Ahhhh this is my gel!! I LOVE it! the little sparkle things annoy me but my hair looks fabulous with this...i wouldnt go out in public without it! What my hair-even-curlier-than-mine camp counselor taught me--rule for buying curly hair product: go to hair isle in drug store, find the cheapest most ghetto product, and buy it in bulk :)

I love this product it gives me enough hold and is a very flexable product to help you achieve what look your going for weather it's soft and natural or crunchy and edgy. Your able to control your look by adding more or less to get what you want. And the biggest plus is that thiers no product build up and is good for your hair.

Ok for a gel. I am not a gel lover. when using this product I recommending using over a moisturizer / hair lotion or leave-in conditioner. similar to eco styler. does not lay down my edges. Provides soft hold and some definition, cheap and effective. Not a replacement for KCCC.

I purchased this product based on reviews and its great on my 4A type hair. I used a light leave-in conditioner first and then did a two strand twist with the gel. Use just a small amount of the gel, just a little does the trick,spritz your hair with water if necessary, air dry. My hair was soft and touchable not stiff or sticky. Great go-to product for the price after spending so much money on all the other products I have.

I had very bad results from this on my 3b/3c hair. Weighed down a lot when I used only a drop. Curls were hard and crunchy.

I have to agree with most of everything that everyone else has said. But, don't use to much leave-in conditioner. Especially, the one with Olive Oil (the green one). Using to much can cause it to turn white, but it dries clear.

I agree with most of the other reviewers, this is a cheap, get-the-job-done, alternative to some of our more expensive staples. I mixed mine with some other healthier ingredients, and, well, I made it smell a little funky (beware of some oil extracts), but it still works well when used following my Giovanni Direct Leave in conditioner. Good standby but not organic.

Fantasia IC gel is the BEST curl-defining gel for my 4A/4B hair! It is light and never leaves my hair dry. I get the Fantasia IC GEL DRY HAIR FORMULA with olive (green). In order to prevent flaking, dryness and/or build-up, follow these easy steps: 1) Always use a good (yet very effective) light-weight leave-in conditioner before using this gel on your hair. (Good leave-ins: Kinky-Curly Knot Today ***, unrefined all natural shea butter (not too much), etc..) I also use some extra-virgin coconut oil in my hair after my leave-in, just before using this gel. 2. Do not use too much gel. A little really goes a long way. 3. Buy the Fantasia IC GEL DRY HAIR FORMULA with olive (green one). 4. Get real! Don't expect it to give you wavy hair if you have type 4 hair. It will define YOUR curls and make YOUR curls look polished. Embrace Your head of curly hair. Don't over manipulate or fight with your hair. Just let it be.

Pretty good. I have been using it for a while (a year in August, with about a 3-4 month break of using a different gel) and it has a pretty good hold. The thing is, I ended up with a build-up of 'cones which made my hair really frizzy. The smell is kind of funky at first but you get used to it

I absolutely love this product. When I was in FL, I accidentallyl left my KCCC behind. I decided to give IC a try since it was $4.29 at the local Super Target. I fell in love with the results. IC is a wonderful alternative for KCCC. Use a leave-in conditioner along with IC and your hair will be nice and soft.

This is very good gel for the $$. works just as well as KCCC. If i use to much it can get crunchy but easily scrunches out. Flakes after a week when its time to wash it out.

Great gel! Works well in humidity and I can get good 3 day hair out of this and my curls still pop! Crunchy on first day but after running fingers through hair once it completely dries softens them up and keeps them frizz free.

I Love This Gel Because It Works So Well On My Curls

This is the only gel that I will use on my natural hair. I wish the ingredients were better but it gives me incredible shine on my two strand twists. Don't use too much. A little goes a long way. It is a little crunchy the first day but it softens up after a while.

Gives me lots of shine. When I use this, it's the last thing I apply to my hair on top of a creamy leave-in. Can be re-activated for 2nd day hair with water.

I really loved how this product defined my 3b curls...i love Kinky Curly and its a great alternative when my $$$ is low...i want to start the cg thing but im not sure if it is safe so thats why i didnt give this 5 curls and also because it did not look to hot for a 2nd day style..other than that its a great product...

I absolutely can't live without this product!!! (I've tried) It has given me the cheapest, simplest daily hair care routine ever. It doesn't dry my hair or even leave it too crunchy (even with daily use). My hair clumps, curls, and shines beautifully. It makes me very happy.

This product is bangin!! This is the only gel I've ever used, It slicks down my edges, gives me a good shine, and it doesnt leave that much build up

I use this almost every day. I like the shine and curl definition, but it leaves my 4A curls very crunchy. Really good price too! Only 3 curls because of the crunchiness.

I LUV this product. You can't beat the quality for the price. Most gels dry me out, but this gel (with an additional moisturizer) keeps my hair most and does the job. I highly recommend!

I love this! When I am too broke to buy KCCC I buy this. I add jojoba oil and aloe very and I get GREAT results. When used with a good leave in conditioner I get great hair for up to a 3-4 days! I live in Houston which has humid climate so you know good curls are hard to come by. MUST HAVE in my cabinet.

I love it! It was purchased at a great price point (under $10) and can be used for my wash and go styles. When doing two strand twists I mix it with an oil-based conditioner and I'm good to go.

It built up in my hair rather quickly, also it left my hair hard. I have never gotten defined curls with this product, so for the most part the only way that I could get usage out of it was for when I wanted to slick my hair back into a bun. Overall, I would never purchase this stuff again. As, it just leaves the hair feeling as hard as a rock.
