I have 3c/4a that is a mix from very fine to very thick and this works well any way I use it. I mainly use it on my edges and the flyaways when I pull my hair back. It works really well for definition and smoothing on braid-n-curls, twist outs, etc. It's also great because it was on sale buy one get one free when I got it 1yr ago and I'm about halfway through it. My main peice of advice it that a little goes a LONG way. The sticky/thick texture makes it so you only have to use a very small amount to get results. I sometimes will apply gel afterwards (Fantasia IC or EcoStyler) to further smooth it out.

Never have I been so glad to rinse something out of my hair. What a sticky, gooey, stiff-icky mess.
