The best!! I have between 4a and 4b hair and recently I had a bad breakage and had to start over, since it has been a mini fro, it is so curly and shiny, when I want my curls defined I use it, the best invention and a great price

I bought a tub of the Olive Oil styling gel and tried the same trick I used on the Kinky Curly: i added about half a bottle of the Proclaim 7 Oil with Olive Oil prime. Shook together in a pump bottle. I use it that way because I know a plain gel will give me cereal bowl hair, but mixed with the oil it gives me better definition, less frizz and DEF less crunch.. I think that after my hair has finally gotten used to BC (just did it 12/31/11) it will probably settle down to being ringlety like it was before. Right now as long as it keeps my MiniAfro in place and moisturized, I'm good.

I found this gel years ago after I found out I'm allergic to most perservatives and bought it solely based on ingredients. I used the pink gel first (medium hold) since that was what i found, then clear, argan oil and finally back to clear. I have to say, I like the clear the best. It is inexpensive (necessary for me since I'm in grad school) and lasts a while. My complaints are that it takes a LONG time to dry (I suppose that is true with all gels) and it seems to lose its hold as my hair dries. I know it isn't just me - I introduced this product to a friend of mine and she had the same complaint. I end up needing to apply gel two or three times as my hair dries and I use a LOT of gel, so I'm not sure why that is the case. Big pro is that, unlike some reviewers, I have no problem with itching or flakes and I wash my hair every 4 days or so. Between washes I squeeze in some water and re apply the gel, but don't have issues with build up. That was one reason my friend started using it too, and she said her itchy scalp has gotten a lot better since switching to this product.

Best invention since sliced bread. This gel can be used in place of a cream based product when doing twist outs and braid outs. It is also good for wash and gos and really defining curls. It moisturizes hair while setting it in place. Its competitive advantage is that it does not make your hair hard, brittle or crunchy. However, I do not recommend this gel for holding down edges.

I love this product. As a struggling college student I will not be trying the more expensive products to compare this to for a while but I use this all of the time and my twist outs/bantu knot outs turn out great! Usually 3/4/5 day hair If I redo my frizzy spots(I play w/ my hair too much) at night. I use a conditioner first then the gel. It does turn a little white at first but dries clear. Add a little oil as I take down my twists and ready to go!

This works great in my hair! I put some leave in conditioner in my hair then apply this to my hair in sections then diffuse & I'm out the door. I'm left with a full head of light, soft, amazing curls and it doesnt shrink my hair much. It doesnt really keep the frizzies away as much as I'd hoped for on 2nd day hair though.

I've only used this for a week, but I love it. It defines my curls and gives them shine. I actually use the olive oil version. I also have the argan oil version, but haven't tried it yet. Now I see what all the hype was about :-).

H.G. for me in normal dew points. It is a magic clump maker. It just seems to pull your hair together into clumps. It has good hold. For me it is a curl enhancer and gel all in one. Super cheap for a tub the size of my head. My only complaint is that the glycerin in it dries my hair out in the winter. I love this stuff.

This is one my holy grail products! It's cheap, can be found almost anywhere, and it works SO well. Where most gels break up my clumps and give me stringlets, this holds them together and really enhances my waves. The crunch scrunches out pretty well (sometimes I do need the aid of some coconut oil or a light leave in to soften it), and the hold is great.

Excellent for twist outs and coil sets. But if you want a softer look, I'd advise to use an oil, coconut or jojoba, on your hair first.

I love this gel!!! I have fine hair and I thought it would weigh my hair down but it didn't. I used a lot of it and used a tshirt to scrunch out some moisture/excess gel. And when it dried, it was barely crunchy and I had awesome clumps. I get 2 day hair out of this gel, no question.

i tried the olive oil version of this gel and i hate it. its too..thick, weighs my hair down wayyy too much, and my hair frizzes after just a few hours. wont be buying that one again. i might try this one, if its not as thick.

I love this gel. I remember one day being in my grandparent bathroom and I found it under their cabinet. I tried it in my hair and I had no freeze for the rest of the day. It held my curls nicely. I need to go pick some up right now.

I really love this gel. I don't get a crunchy feel in my hair. Also, it gives me just enough sleekness that I don't feel greasy. My transitioning curls are in love. As soon as I finish the container, I'll try the olive oil version.

I use the olive oil version of this gel and I love it. Out of all the products I've tried since my BC, this is the ONLY one that does not leave my hair frizzy, that gives me enough curl definition & hold to get 2nd day hair & keeps my hair pretty moisturized. And although my hair is still too short for it to matter, there is hardly any shrinkage when it dries. I have yet to try KCCC, so I don't know how it compares, but the price is a HUGE plus. My only complaint is that I can't use it with a leave-in, because then it turns white and flaky and it doesn't seem to matter what leave-in or how much leave-in I use. But overall, I love it!

I thought this would best a really good product , but I was slightly disappointed. It didn't really weigh down my curls (well I have no curls to weigh down!) I like that it did not make my hair dry, and it lasts a long time for me. I just add water and thats it!

I have used the eco-styler by itself. I have used it with a leave-in conditioner. It does define it for a day. The next day the hair does not look the same. I have used KCCC, that is the best. It has a long last effect. It will last 7 days before having to wash it again. I will stay with my KCCC. No comparison.

First of all, in no way shape or form does this product compare to KCCC at all! It has a "product-y" feel to it, yet it dries soft, but it does tend to frizz and will not promote 2nd/3rd day hair. I have 3c curls, and this product is a bit heavy, but did not dry in that heavy consistency it was applied with. I would not refer to this product as a staple product and never compare it to the KCCC.

I found this product very drying to my hair and I had a lot of shrinkage. I've seen others compare it to KCCC but, for me, there was no comparison at all; the two products aren't even in the same universe.

Good for a gel. I am not a gel lover or at least my hair isn't. But this performs better than others I have tried. It does not leave a hard crunch and does not flake. It is easy to rinse from hair though I would suggest washing after use. Others have compared it to KCCC and I would have to disagree in that it will provide the same definition and hold however your hair is a bit crunchier and one application does not have the same day after day lasing effects as KCCC. Also I had to apply more of this product than I would if using KCCC. It does a good job of taming edges and on braid outs. However when I use on braid/twist-outs I will also apply an oil to my hair in the morning for added softness. But for the price it is a good rival for KCCC.

I bought this at Sally's (4.99) because the reviews were great and I decided to try it because the price is right. By the time my hair dried, it was big fuzzy poof ball. My hair does not like hydrolyzed wheat protein! I'm glad that some have had great success, but it just didn't work for my 3B hair.

I really wanted to like this because it gave me awesome, tight, voluminous curls. But the smell was strong, unpleasant and it made my allergies worse. Then I when I rinsed it off, it didn't seem to rinse clean so I had to wash it twice, once to get the product out and once to get the smell out. Guess I'll stick to KCCC.

I just recently bought a (huge) tub of this on sale at Sally's. After reading reviews about it, I kept thinking 'it's just gel...is it really that great?', but now that I've used it, I know it REALLY IS THAT GREAT! It doesn't leave any white residue like other gels do & it leaves hair soft, not super crunchy! I scrunch this in my daughter's 2b hair every morning & it holds well throughout her schoolday. =)

OK, so who doesn't love their EcoStyler gel? I tried it on natural hair for the first time last Autumn. It provides a really nice, lasting hold, as well as lots of shine. I use it to slick up my ponytails and lay down my baby hair. Sometimes I'll saturate my damp hair with it for a quick wash 'n go, but you REALLY have to watch how much you use though...too much and you will have a whitish-gray mess! It dries pretty clear though. Sometimes a little crunchy though. I recommend this product for ponytails, braids, and stuff like that, but if you have VERY THICK, SPONGY, 3C/4A hair like mine, I wouldn't recommend it for loose 'dos.

Eco is an old standby. I use it to slick my sides and create waves. I think it's about the same as any other medium hold clear gel I have tried. Personally, I would not use it in place of KCCC for a couple of reasons. (1) The ingredients aren't as great. (2) I find that it leaves my hair a little crunchy. It's a good gel, but nothing to phone home about.

I like this gel a lot. It provides a firm hold similar to IC Fantasia, but without the crunch. The gel is also very thick. It provides very good curl definition and I love how big the tub/container is. I get big, defined curls using this but for less volume I use a dime sized amount of KCCC layered on top.

I love this product on my 4b/c curly/coily hair. I gives it shine and volume and holds curls. I damp my hair a little and put it in until I see my curls pattern come in. It does get a little white but goes away. And it does not flake. I would recommend it. It will not elongate curls if that is what you are looking for, but it does give volume.

I was amazed at how much frizz control I got with this! Almost as good as the frizz control I get with Rockin' Ringlets! I got 32 ounces for $2.99 on sale at Sally's...it was WELL worth the money. This is a keeper. I did need to use a stronger gel with it...it doesn't have "hard hold," but it does define curls without crunch. And it has UV protection. I haven't tried KCCC so I can't compare, but I really do love this!

I switched to this a couple of mths ago because KCCC was no where to be found & getting to be a very expensive habit. This is even better. My hair stays moist & it has defined curls. So economical! They have the 80 oz for $9! I'm sure that would last some folks 1 yr. Big difference from KCCC.
