I don't normally post reviews but I had to add my two cents after reading the last review. This has become my go to pomade - it is light and performs super well. The smell alone is worth the price. The packaging is also beautiful and makes every morning feel a little more glamorous. Don't get me wrong - I love the old school orange tins - but I think I will keep the fond memories of them relegated to the high school part of my archives. My hair is the first thing people notice (it's big and curly) and it is the one place I won't scrimp on. Also I don't use shampoo to wash out. I just rinse and then use a deep conditioning masque.
WHAT? $34.00?? Are you kidding? Huh - let's read the label... Petrolatum. Delicious. Listen - people of color have long used another product, and hipsters have caught on to, Murray's Superior Hair Dressing Pomade in the orange can, and you can get it at Walgreen's for 2 bucks, or at the grocery store for 3! And what's in Murray's? Petrolatum. Just like Murray's, this stuff is a heavy, heavy holding product that "may be difficult to wash out". Yeah it is. Use a castile soap, like Dr. Bronner's - it's made from olive oil - and follow with a good conditioner. You can buy both of those with the 32$ you'll save by buying Murray's. Look, I gave this 3 curls because it's a good product - it does just what it's supposed to - but COME ON. OK - 2 curls. 34$ is larcenous, especially considering the hideous container it comes in. It's as if Versace decided to make cheap little plastic canisters.
