3B/3C hair. This product didn't feel moisturizing on my hair at all. It took me a few tries to get it to fit into my hair regime because I hate to waste products. A little goes a LONG way I put too much this first time and it weighed down my hair and gave it a very oily appearance. I usually just put this on my ends in the shower and wash out just to get some use out of it. When using it for styling I use a waster based gel combined with this & get nice shiny curls. I gave it 3 stars because I would not purchase again, it doesn't feel very moisturizing and does not make detangling any easier, also it is too oily for my hair.
I have tried three different products that I have ordered off of Curl Mart. I did not like them as much as I do this stuff. My hair is kind of in between 3b and 3c. I decided to try this in the hopes it would control frizz and allow my hair to lay down just a bit more when I wear it down. This definitely did the trick. I fully wet my hair, then I sectioned it off into four parts. I applied about a quarter sized amount to each section. I noticed that even after my hair was dry, it still was not frizzy or poofy. My son's grandmother asked if it was still wet because of how much it hadn't poofed up. I have finally found my hair product.
I use this for my twists and my hair stays moisturized for days, which is a miracle in the hot, humid weather down here in the Caribbean.
I tried using this product with a leave-in and I was not happy! I did however use the product for twists and I was happier with that result. It smells great but I will not be purchasing this product again.
Absolutely wonderful product. It has the perfect texture. Not too thick and not too liquid. It dissolves easily into my hair. I don't have to mix it with anything to change the consistency. It leaves my hair shiney and moisturized for days. I apply right after the Darcy's Botanicals Pumpkin Seed Moisture Conditioner and proceed to twist. I can tell this would be good for shingling wash and go's too. I want to stock up on all of these products. They are organic and I don't want it to spoil. So I will just use and repurchase when I run out. By the way, the jar is small, but a little goes a long way. Loving it!
I love this product on my hair. When i do twist outs on my transitioning hair it leaves it moisturized days after I twist my hair and in place. I wish they did sell it for cheaper but I do understand its a bit pricey because its organic. I love the smell, hold, and consistency of this product. Definitely a staple product for me!
I have found another wonderful product from Darcy's product line. I bought this to add moisture to the nape of my hair since it was starting to dry out fast. I am growing out a tapered cut so the hair is now dragging the collar of my clothes. The pudding has a nice creamy & texture. It's light to touch and goes on nice without being heavy. The scent is a light coconut but it fades once you apply it. It compliments the other products in her line. Boy does this stuff work!! I applied it to my ends once I spray them with water and twirl them into spirals. My hair is moisturized, soft and not wet and soggy even after I cover it with a scarf overnight. I also use it in the front around my hairline and edges in lieu of hair gel. It keeps them moisturized since gel can sometimes dry out my hair. I even run it through the halo of my crown to fight some of the frizz. A little goes a long way. My husband also uses it to moisturize his hair and he has the same type as me. It keeps his taper and scalp nice and moisturized without being heavy or greasy. Her products are truly all natural and do not seem to dry out my hair.
When I first opened up the container, I got a bit freaked. It totally looks and smells like icing. The formula just looked dense, and the smell was oh so very concentrated (coconuts and artificial sickeningly sweet vanilla?)... but it was like 'sht, already bought it, may as well'. And I'm wicked glad I did! First off, once you've applied it, YOU CAN'T SMELL IT! Strange yeah, but good. I had someone ask me while I was out what I used on my hair, she was so amazed and couldn't quit complementing me on it. I gladly told her of this. The woman was rather hesitant, "I hate coconut". But once I invited her to smell my hair, she was equally amazed she couldn't catch a whiff of it. Secondly, this leaves my curls soft and moisturized. Frizz-free. And did I mention soft? I'm honestly so happy
Great moisturizer! This says to apply on damp or dry hair. I have a bad habit of not reading instructions so, the first time I used it my hair did not absorb it. It felt good but looked dry because it was coated. I love how it works on dry hair. I use it to keep my ends hydrated and to retwist at night.
I love this product not only on me but on my children to I have a house hold full of curls I myself am a 3c my daughter a 3a and my son a 3b and it work great for all of us... One of my faves
This is my favorite moisturizer. It definitely needs a gel over it. It has just the right amount of moisture for my hair. It may be too light for those with highly porous hair. The natural "ingredient" scent is faint and doesn't clash with other products. I can even use a little bit on dry hair to handle dryness and flyaways.
3c Provides moisture, frizz control, and softens my curls in the morning after I undo my twist. I find using this product alone does not provide enough hold. I am looking forward to trying it with a gel and see if it maintains holding power. This is a nice product for softening, frizz control and moisture rentention.
