My only con with this brush is that the base and handle of the brush isn't as well made as the D3, the material just doesn't seem as sturdy so I was little disappointed when I first received it but that was quickly over-shadowed with excitement when I began to use it.I like this denman a lot better than the D3, It glides through my 4a/3c curls and coils pretty easily and cuts down on my de-tangling time. Also there isn't much hair in the brush when I'm done de-tangling, so over-all I'm pleased with this brush.
Works well, seems to pull out all tangles and knots, even "fairy knots", and leaves a nice curl definition. My one complaint is that the handle is too skinny and is a little uncomfortable too hold for a long period. A thicker, softer grip handle would be nice.
I like this brush. I have super thick, dense hair thats in the 4s and this detangles well. The bristles and the knobs on the bristles are plastic so they don't come off. The material that the base of the brush is made of makes it easy to grip the brush even if you have a lot of product on your hands. It does make detangling easy.
Stop the presses! This brush is fantastic for my curls! I was caught up in natural hair "rules" of finger detangling and using a wide tooth comb for the longest time. While those worked, my hair didn't feel completely detangled and it took F-0-R-E-V-E-R! I then tried the D3 and it was better, but I hate the unrounded points on the tips of the brush and that scratchy sound it made when going through my hair. Finally, I tried the D83 and love it! My curls are defined, detangled, and it took me 20 minutes to get through my massive mane. If you're nervous about using a paddle brush, I'd advice to go slow, using the same bottom to top method and it will glide through your hair like a hot knife through butter.
