I keep this on hand as the first step in my reconditioning/dc of my hair after a henna treatment--I leave it on overnight for the best results and by morning, my hair is "drunk" and nicely moisturized. I give only 4 stars because this is only a first step and I still have many more I have to do after henna or protein treatments due to the way either process traumatizes my hair.

Hair stats: transitioning, MBL, 4Aish, low porosity, protein and AVJ sensitive Now that I realize that my hair doesn't like products with a lot of AVJ, I now know why my hair didn't like this stuff. It left my hair feeling tangled, there was NO slip and my hair wasn't soft or moisturized once it was applied, while rinsing, or after my hair air dried. I like the smell (smells like skittles), the ingredients (minus the AVJ) and the thickness, but it just did not perform well for my hair. I will not repurchase.

OK, so m y hair is actually 3c/4a. the first time I used this was after the SS Protein treatment--my hair does NOT respond well to protein and this conditioner did not seemed to help the hardness left by the protein--it took 3 other conditioners, 2 more shampoos and tons of leave in to soften that mess. I steered clear of the rest of my jar until my second henna treatment. The first henna also left my hair hard but it softened somewhat after a few days and lots of dc and leave in. My hair is normally very, very soft. I did another henna (helps to strengthen my very fine hair) and decided to try the DT on it. I have so many, and last time I did a henna, neither Curl Junkie rehab, Bee Mine DC, or Shea Moisture Masque could soften my hair. Well.. I put this product on, then also oiled by scalp and sealed my hair with JBCO--I left it in for about 10 hours --I took off my plastic cap and lo and behold! by hair is soft, my twists are juicy and my hair is defined with gorgeous spirals and coils! LOVE it. The key to the success of many products is to use them in the right context. My hair does not like protein, but can tolerate henna. To soften my hair after a henna, it looks like my new go to will be SS DT with JBCO. Gotta go with what works.

This product was just alright to me. Really thick consistency that you have to scoop out. The first time I used it, it felt horrible (I followed the directions) and put it under heat for the full hour. My hair was so hard to detangle before going under the dryer and it felt like straw when I washed it out. I lost patience and some hair. I used it a second time and just put it in my hair, detangled, and waited for half an hour. Even so, it wasn't bad but not anything special either. Doesn't feel moisturizing and is certainly not worth this price.

this is one of my staples! i love the thick consistency and how soft and moisturised it makes my hair feel. a little bit goes a long way too so it's lasted me for a while. deducting a star though because of the price, and the fact that this product has quite a strong herbal smell that seems to linger slightly even after you rinse it out.

It felt nice going on my hair, but after rinsing it out, the softening effect it did to my hair was gone. I would not buy this product again.

I purchased this about a month or so ago to use on my daughter's hair and all I can say is Wow! I think I am now sold on this being my #1 deep conditioner for her hair. My daughter is 8 and typically has little to say about what products I use on her hair, but even she noticed this one and loved it and was happy when I used it again. It made her hair so soft. It was easy to style her hair, which is the big bonus for her and this week after using it the second time, her hair just looks shiny and beautiful. I absolutely love this one!

My hair really needs some TLC. I will provide a follow up and see. I did notice however, there is less shedding so far. I will give you heads up in May/June.

I recently received this product and so far, so good. It really hydrates and softens my 4b/c fine haired twa! I have used this in my wash routine (which includes an organic shampoo bar) and co-wash routine (a Desert Essence conditioner) with successful results. As of Sunday, this will be my third use with this product. I do not need to mix this with any other product(s), then it would be too moisturizing! I am definitely a fan of this product :D

Every once in awhile I like to try a new moisturizing treatment/deep conditioner even though I have my staples. I think this one just about blows them all of the water - it really softens up your hair, incredibly so! Detangling wasn't a challenge, my hair felt fluffy and light with lots of swing/movement and over all felt rejuvenated. Sometimes it pays off to use quality treatments that cost a little more than the average beauty product. The only draw back to me is the smell - I can't describe it but it's not a favorite of mine, and I'm not one who is sensitive to smells. I would over look the smell for the performance though, it's well worth it.

This product left my hair so soft and moisturized. i use all my deep conditioners with my steamer and it just made it incredible. after i was done steaming with it it didnt have much detangling effect. i will repurchase but it is super pricey. the smell was good. it was super thick and i loooove deep conditioners.

4a hair type- Excellent deep conditioner! Used with heat it left my hair feeling very soft and moisturized.

This conditioner is the BEST DC;that I've tried!It is thick and VERY moisturizing.This has been my staple DC;for over a year now!The scented formula smells like warm mocha.It works best with heat applied/steamer.Wonderful ingredients!You can't go wrong;with this product.I gave it five stars;but if I could give it ten;I would do it!

I love this product!!! The texture is so dense and creamy! My hair loves it. I can use it alone but boy oh boy, if I add some honey and olive oil and sit under the dryer with a plastic cap it turns out soooooo soft and manageable!!! I'm definitely willing to stock up on this. I hope she keeps making it!!!

This is a great super mega moisturizing deep conditioner. I am not a big fan of the smell but I can definitely get over that because it works wonders on my hair. Not a lot of slip but really like all the moisture. My curls were bouncy and peppy after I used this.

This is an wonderful deep treatment. Every time I use it my hair gets curlier, softer and bouncier. It doesn't have tons of slip, but I like it that way, since there are other products that serve that purpose.

I LOVE this deep moisturizing treatment! My waves look almost curly when I use this, and the under-layer, which is usually straight, curls up to about a 2b. It leaves my hair very soft and smooth as well. I will definitely purchase this on a regular basis.

I was surprised to not see this product as widely featured online as a lot of other deep conditioners. If I didn't like to try other products, this would be my 2nd or 3rd favorite deep conditioner. I have 3c/4a corkscrew/fractal combination curls and need moisture above all. The slip is great, the smell is as decedent as the title suggests, with a just enough herbal and currant scents, and it has the perfect amount of moisturizing ingredients. Spiral Solutions, as a company, has fantastic customer service as well. I like to apply this to soaking wet hair and try to dc overnight and/or steam the conditioner and the result is curls that are soft, defined, and applying leave in conditioner is like passing a hot knife through butter.

I use this after the Repairing Protein Treatment twice a month. This may be the best deep treatment combo I've ever used -- my curls (3C/4A) are soft and redefined after this. You'll love it too!

I purchased this product last winter, and was impressed from the first time I used it. Not only does it moisturize the hair, it nourishes the scalp. I've been using the Curl Junkie Curl Rehab for the past two months, and then returned to this one. For me, there is NO comparison. This product, at least to me, is much more effective. So, 4a's, if you're sleeping on this one, give it a try.

I love this product! It has made a very big difference in the health of my fine, medium/low porosity, medium density 4b hair. Less shedding and my hair is receiving the moisture I have putting in it a lot better than before I used the product. I will be making this a staple in my regimen.

I have 3c/4a hair and at first i thought it didn't make a difference with or without it. But without it my hair was dry and rough- with it my hair was shiny and soft. Plus great smell I always get compliments when I have it in.

this product made my hair feel very moisturized. you must follow the directions to the tee. my 4a/4b hair was very grateful. the curls/coils popped :) i will definitely purchase again.

I've been using this for about a year now. I'm deeply inlove with this product. I can use it as a DT, rinse out, and even a leave in. I always use it after I do the repairing protein treatment by SS. My Hair adores it.

To me, this product smells like a face moisturizer that I used to use. Other than that, it left my hair really soft. I left it on my hair for only about 5 minutes. I use this after the SS protein treatment.

At first I used it as a leave in and my hair looked really good. Today, I washed my hair and put this on my hair with a plastic cap. I then rode my exercise bike for an hour. When done I took a shower and rinsed it out. My hair is really conditioned. It looks great!

This is an awesome moisturizer to use after a protein treatment. I left in on for 45 minutes and sat under a hood dryer. Rinsed and the results were soft luscious wurlies. My 2b hair was not weighed down either. Great product to use prior to coloring to protect from damage.

This product has great ingredients BUT it made my 4a hair dry and frizzy. I think that is because it does not have any cetyl alcohol (hair softener) in it which 4a hair needs. Also absolutely no slip, Not a repurchase.

I bought this because I was looking for a great deep condish w/o the protein AND I finally found one! I love the scent of this product and the thickness. I have been so disappointed lately with hair products and I praying that this one would work. I have used it about 3 times thus far and I am loving that my hair does feel moisturized and soft. I even just used it as my deep conditioner after a henna treatment and my hair still feels soft. Bottom line: great ingredients, great scent. great work, great investment. I am glad I didn't waste my money.

For me, not the best and not the worst. It does NOT have slip. Its actually really thick and hard to distribute. It moisturizes nicely, but not any moreso than other DTs I've tried. I'd give it 4 curls but for the smell, which is absolutely vile. It gives me a migraine, its so bad. I wrap my head entirely in a t-shirt to try to mask the smell, and can barely leave this on for longer than 20 minutes. I literally get nauseous after 20 minutes. I got a sample of this, and would probably have bought a full size and continued to try it out as a DT if not for the smell. As it is, I'm totally relieved to be done with the sample.

This deep conditioner works nicely, but is a little hard to distribute due to its thickness. Once it's in, it moisturises and detangles and the whole five yards brilliantly, but I always feel like I've used too much product to do so sometimes. Occasionally, if I use it for the full 60 minutes, I will be left with a bit of a film on my hair, which isn't horrible but does feel a bit strange. Not jaw-droppingly brilliant as a DT (though when I was having moisture issues, it did fix things, albeit temporarily, in a single use), but actually does quite nicely as a daily protein-free rinse-out and when diluted is a nice leave-in.

A good moisture source after clarifying. I did see an increase in frayed ends frizz and some surface frizz after using it, whether I clarified before using it or not.

A beautiful treatment. Love it!

Used it last night as a DT. Decided to not rinse it out and slept with it in my hair. Co-washed, used my usual products the next day. Normally by the late afternoon my ends are frizzy and dry and my hair in general is not fun to touch. Today, even after a windy day (which turns my hair in to a dry fluff) my hair still had curls and moisture except for the very last inch on the ends. Tomorrow will try as a leave-in for my ends. Gave it a 4 just because this was my first time using. If I continue to see improvement, this would definitely be a 5.

It worked well, but after leaving it in my hair for over an hour I thought the results would be greater.

This is a wonderful DT, that works equally well as a leave-in. My hair feels like silk after using it. I always use it after the SS Protein Treatment. My curls love this line.

Oh what a lusciously thick and creamy deep conditioner. I use it after the Protein Treatment, and when my curls are parched. Simply said.... absolutely the best. Love SS!

Incredibly thick and rich and moisturizing! I get the unscented, and I love the fragrance of it all on it's own from the herbs....it smells divine!

i LOVE this deep conditioner! it has literally transformed my hair. i stopped coloring my hair a year and a half ago, and my gray/white hair is extremely dry. this dt has made my hair soft and shiny and curly. i use it as a dt and as a leave in. as a leave in every day. and, if i am out in the sun for long periods of time, i just put extra on my hair (dry) and it keeps it well moisturized and my curls literally pop! it is not heavy so i think it can be used for all types of hair. my hair is on the fine side of normal.

awesome thickness, kind of like clay. my hair was soft and moisturized while detangling, and even after i rinsed it out.

This deep conditioner is wonderful for dry to very dry hair! After T-shirt drying, my curls were defined, and my hair was left soft and shiny. It is not only my "new love", but a definite must-have for the dry seasons like winter and summer.
