I like to use this product to bring my old twist out back to life. It leaves my hair soft and moisterized.

Did nothing for my hair. I really wanted this to work on my hair since I heard nothing but great things about it. It left my hair dry and oily. And no I didn't use a palmful of it. Followed the instructions on the bottle, even used a little less to be sure. It did not define my curls and my hair smelled like a bowl of fruit loops.

Didn't like this at all. It just sat on my hair, gave it no definition at all and had a strong lemongrass scent. I think I must be allergic to lemongrass because my scalp was itching so badly, I had to wash it out immediately. I tried it twice and no luck.

I love this stuff i have very curly fine hair and it works wonders for me... the secret I have found is that i mixing this with my other favorite mizani's stretch cream and to not pull to much on the hair.. i also use curls moisterizer to refresh...the second day... awesome stuff...i must admit im not to keen on the smell.... and a little goes a long way ...to much will definitly turn the hair WHITE.

UHM yea . . . I did not like this product. My hair was dry and kind of brittle after using this. I also did not like the smell. It smelled like I sprayed "Off oven cleaner" in my hair. And for 20.00 bucks I was really disappointed. I tried it when I did a two coil twist out and It was OK, but for the everyday wet/dry look I usually do It was horrible.

This stuff was terrible on my daughters hair. It is greasy and made her hair hard. Would not recommend.

Um...for twenty dollars I would have thought this little bottle should have tapped danced and put itself in my hair for me lol. I was excited to use this but I realized quickly that it just did not like other products in my hair too much. It would dry with a little white precipitate in my hair. I think a product worth that much should work with other products! The smell is not something that I am fond of. I am going to continue trying to make this work with different routines until the bottle runs out but I do not think that this is something I am going to jump up and buy again anytime soon. And also, I would advise you not to put a lot in your hair. I know for mine it was not necessary. It defines but not as well as some of the cheaper products that I use. If it works better I will come back with a better review!

Wow! Simply amazing. I've never used anything that worked this great on my hair. I have super curly hair and this magical stuff defines my curls, makes them look healthy & moisturized. I wash my hair if not every day, every other day, so the build up doesn't have time to bother me. Seriously, this stuff is great. I usually have ppl complimenting my curls on my good days but since I started using this, every day is a good day. Ppl are literally coming up to me every where I go asking me what I use, if I have a perm lol, & asking to touch my hair. Doesn't weigh my hair down, it's uniform all around and even the top of my head has body. I'm not too crazy about the smell but it goes away after a while. Wash, apply and ready to go. I left it in 1 day without washing and I didn't have to apply any more. My fingers ran right through it too! I will definitely buy this again. I might try the light just to see if there is a difference.

This product is too greasy, doesn't hydrate, and that lemon pledge smell was too much for me. C'mon Carol's Daughter!

Pros: -when i did a flat twist out, i used this under my FOTE AVG. my hair was very defined, even without the gel. -when i did a braid out on straightened hair, my hair was very soft and wavy. -it is a decent moisturizer for mini twists. Cons: -the scent stays for a loooooong time. it gives me a headache after i use it (it smells like lemonheads) -it is very greasy. those with coarser hair strands may appreciate this. however, i do think the greasiness goes away after a while. just be careful not to use too much. -the packaging sucks! a little shake of the bottle and a fourth of the product will spill out -price. i swapped this product. i would never spend $20 on this product Recommendations: -smell product at sephora, macy's, etc before you buy it -pour out the amount of product you plan to use on a lid or in an old jar so you won't waste product (or use too much) -use this in the late afternoon so hopefully the smell will be gone before bedtime (or the smell may tone down) Final verdict: -it makes my hair soft. i will continue to use it because it is glycerin-free and the dews are wacky in my area. i hope that i will get used to the smell. however, i would never buy this product unless they change the smell. To Lisa: Get these scents together lady. Just because we are natural does not mean we want to smell like herbs.

I love this! Usually when I think of a hair milk the word light comes to mind. This one is quite thick and heavy but thats actually perfect for me. Its super super moisturizing and leaves my hair smooth and SHINY. I think it smells delicious, it actually makes me hungry. I mean literally, its the wierdest thing but it makes me hungry. Lol, but anyways, its a great, super moisturizing product and I can use this one without anything else which is a plus.

This really defines curls very well and leaves hair very moisturized. I didnt mind the smell at all either. It even allows second and third day hair! Now I wish I would have gotten the large bottle instead of this small nine dollar sample size that I could only get one use out of even with at TWA.

This was one of the first products I used after my big chop, and it is my staple. My curls are defined, shiny and I love it. I am not too fond of the price, but you can use coupons so yayyy!!!

When I used this on my hair it felt dry soon after. However my little girl who is a 3B/4A hair type loves it and I have to say it works awesome in her hair. I would use it on her but not for me. It really hydrates her curls and keeps them looking wonderful.

This is an awesome product. I consider this a stable to have in any curly girls world. The smell is different, I dont hate it, just different. I get well difine, shiny curls.

This product define my curls real well. The smell wasn't bad to me. I actually like the smell. The only thing that I didn't like about this product was it was real greasy. I feel this product would probably be good for someone who has very dry hair.

Please read the ingredients before you buy! It has all natural things in it so it will smell that way. To me it has a refreshing lemongrass scent which I love! I have had this product since last August and I just ran out. I used it for just wearing my hair curly. I have 3c, 4a type and it leave my hair soft, defined and frizz free all day. I use a leave in conditioner before I use this, to kind of "stretch" the product out since it's a little watery. Overall I really like this product and I will continue to purchase it!

this is a really good product. my curls are type 3b but my hair is really thick. i just got a fun curly haircut so its easier to manage. i bought this product at sephora. i forgot for how much anyhow i also got the shea moisture smoothie that works sooo well. i used those to products ( hair milk and smoothie) with tresemme climate control mousse. my hair is really soft and doesnt have to much volume which i love. i give this product 4 curls because it works well with the help of other products. i still have to try it by itself with mousse. a lil works well with small pieces of hair at a time. i wish this product was a little bit thicker. because i find it to be a little bit more on the watery side. hope this product works well on you. but i think the other products on this brand are good. well seem to be since ive never tried them before. the only think that i hate about this product is that its a bit over priced! 20.00 is not my fav. shea moisture is 10 and last longer smells better and works much better on all types of hair types and a little goes a long way.

I have 4b hair, so I'm not expecting this bottle to do some sort of magic on my curls, and turn my head into Tracy Ellis Ross. However, the old formula would make the curls I already have pop, and moisturize my hair like crazy. So, that was what I was expecting when I purchased the new formula. Well, it didn't moisturize my hair at ALL. It was very drying, and just sat on top of my hair. And that previous "pop" I got from the old formula? Not uh. This just left my hair a tangled mess!

This product does not define the way I was hoping it would. While I do appreciate the ingredient list and the clean smell (I know some users didn't), it's a bit too heavy to truly define my 4a curls, and is a bit on the greasy side.

I'm disappointed with the whole hair milk line. Very disappointed with this Curl Definer! I must say that I am slowly but surely being relieved of my product junkiedness (if thats a word) when I waste money on expensive products like this. I give it a 1 because it did not do what it says it does. It did not define my curls at all, it's not moisturizing at all, it made my hair dry, and have shrinkage and frizz. I won't even try to use the rest of it for a twist out. I won't be buying this again.

I was very excited about getting this product, my curls a 3-3c a combination on most days. I ran to this store in Harlem in NYC where I work. First the product does work..but i just want to suggest a few things first. Buy the 2oz bottle first for 9 dollars..it is tiny but you really do NOT have to use alot. That way you can really figure out if you want it, I bought the 20 dollar bottle and even though I will use it...it will be once in a while. My other concerns are the smell for one, not horribble but not so great a bit like medicine. Then its the build up. I used it 3x this past week and even though I wised up and used less this products really moisturizes my hair too much. I gave it 3 curls because it does a really good job on defining my curls. So not a total but..but not my favorite.

I used this over a year ago and have not repurchased it since. It left my (3c/4a combo) hair greasy and weighed down and didn't define my curl at all.

Not recommended by itself. Extremely drying. And caused much shrinkage to my hair.

This does define my curls, but by the end of the day, they were frizzy, and it's not even summer. I had to re-wet and reapply the next morning for nice curls. Uncle Funky's Curly Magic worked better for me.

Awful! I used a teeny tiny bit and It left my hair weighed down and greasy. I figured that maybe my hair was just being finicky and needed a few days to adjust, but it only got worse.

I first received a sample of this in an order from Curlmart. It sat on my dresser for 3 weeks before I decided to try it. First impression...YUCK! Smells like lemon Pledge (furniture polish). So apparently I do not like lemongrass :/ But I must say, my dry hair has never been shiny in my life...until I used this! Shiny, moisturized curls, not greasy and stringy. Luckily the smell did not linger and I liked the results so much I placed an order for the 10oz bottle a few days ago. Can't wait for it to arrive, I love this stuff!!

At first, when I put it on, it looked and felt really nice. I noticed the smell and it was so strong. It smelled like lemon at first(because of the lemon) but after a couple of minutes, it smelled like a lice treatment. -Gross!- Another thing that happen was my hair started feeling so crunchy and hard. It felt horrible. I hated it. Would not recommend.

I was pretty disappointed after trying this product. Although it did provide my hair with plenty of moisture & there was good curl definition, I hate the smell of it & it left my hair extremely frizzy. It worked a little better over leave-in conditioner, but there was still too much frizz. Oh well.

Love this product! It is one of my staples. I use this with Mixed chicks leave-in to achieve a perfect flat twist out. It leaves my hair very shiny and moisturized. I use it on my son's hair also. One of my favorites:)

Much too heavy for my hair type. I see they are making a lite version. May try that but haven't purchased Hair Milk since my last experience 2 yrs ago.

This product is horrible. I used it twice and it made my hair really greasy. It sucked... Also the smell is absolutely horrendus. I love Carol's Daughter. But hair Milk is not something I will ever use again.

Hate this product. It did nothing good for my hair. First, the scent was awful. Second, it did not moisturize my hair but instead had it feeling like straw. And all this was on clean hair! Terrible terrible terrible.

Not really my favorite, and didn't really live up to the hype. The smell is overpowering - like lemon furniture polish (thankfully as the day wore on the smell diminished and was more pleasant), and it left my hair crunchy and greasy feeling. Not moisturizing at all and definitely not worth keeping.

Before I went CG I loved the original formula of this product, which ironically did not have silicones. It completely changed the texture of my hair, making smooth, shiny, stretched out curls, which when brushed just kind of became beautiful waves. I hated the super strong lemongrass smell though. It made me feel like a chicken preparing to be roasted. I'm sad it is no longer CG-friendly.

I was not overly impressed with this product for the price. The smell was my biggest obstacle. It left my hair smelling like it had been medicated. It did provide some moisture and curl definition. I will not buy again.
