this is one of my staple products if they ever stop selling it i will def stock up on it because it works. i have 4a (i think ) hair and it works great to detangle my hair. however i dont apply it according to directions. i section my hair into 6 and apply it to each small section. when each section is covered i finger comb and rinse it out. my curls dont really need anything if i dont want to after using this product.
I have a different "flavor" of this--the sweet almond or whatever. I LOVE this product! My hair was to the point where it took me 45 or so minutes to dry and sort of straighten. The ends were burnt and my hair crackled like straw (and looked a lot like straw, too). I had an expensive shine spray I put in, plus frizz control, and of course the never ending frying from my Chi. So, I decided to go cold turkey and bought this. I did a lot of research, including researching Wen, and I was concerned I'd end up with an oily, dull mess. Especially since depending on my shampoo/conditioner combo, I ended up looking like that anyway. I had absolutely NO problems with this! My hair is probably a 2c, but it is so COURSE (especially for a white girl), and the frizz!! After one week of use (no shampoo what so ever, no product, either) I finally let my hair air dry on the weekend. Granted there was a little frizz, but my hair just curled up nice and happy. No product. No scrunching. Normally my hair would just turn into a giant wedge of frizz! Now I'm diffusering and using some natural gel and am good to go--this stuff is a MIRACLE product! I follow the directions very carefully, scrub the longest possible recommendations, and I even time myself to make sure I do everything long enough. I just love the way my hair feels--one week folks! I'm looking forward to all the improvement I'll see in weeks to come!
I was curious about this product for a long time, and I finally got around to purchasing a bottle last week. I bought the formula "for Curly Hair" which highlights argan oil as its special ingredient. I really like this product a lot, and I find it has a 3-in-1 ability if used as directed. I have never tried Wen, but the ingredients in this product look very different from Wen formulas I've seen. This may be similar in that its a cleansing conditioner, but this doesn't seem to be a "Sally version" of Wen's formula. Hair One with argan oil has a very, very strong mentholated scent. Visions of muscle liniment and/or Vick's VapoRub will float through your mind. If you have sensitive skin, this might burn if it gets on your face. I've had the "itchies" as my scalp acclimates to the desert, and this product feels INCREDIBLY soothing and cooling on my scalp. Each time I've used it, I've used about 28 pumps total. The pump doesn't distribute much product, so 28 pumps isn't as bad as it sounds. Per directions I cleanse, comb throughout my hair, and leave the cream on my hair 3-5 minutes before rinsing. ^My scalp is really tingling by this time. This cleanser is moisturizing and pretty good at detangling, but my dry, coarse hair still needs more moisture. I apply around 8 pumps of the cream and use it as a leave-in. For me, this is where the product really shines (pun intended). It helps to separate my curls, enhance definition, and allow bounce without frizz. I can get by without using any gel, curl cream, etc. for a "wash & go" look without hold. While the product feels like it's going to be quite heavy, it feels remarkably light as a leave-in. The smell of the product is pleasant, but it's strong as all get-out, and it really clings to my hair. While I usually don't like such heavily scented products, I must say this is a great scalp deodorizer for when I do once a week washes. I suspect this might build up on my hair, so I will make sure to clarify with my Queen Helene Mint shampoo every 2 weeks.
I love this product. I tried it after reading reviews for "Wen". Someone mentioned that Sally's had a version and decided to try it. It's a 1/3 of the price! I will say you have to use it more than once to really start noticing a difference. Even though my ends are terrible and I need a cut badly, this really keeps my 3B curls together, and since I have started using this product I've noticed my second day hair is a lot less "bed-heady". It is an all in one so for the $9.99 a bottle you get shampoo and conditioner so it saves a lot of money. I use the one for curly hair. My only problem is I am not completely fond of the smell. It's not bad, it just smells more like guy's cologne. Once you rinse it out and use some product it is no longer noticeable however.
My hair is a 3b I just purchased it today the hair one for curly hair and I am loving it I had a problem with my hair after I straightened it and people told me once I straightened it i would never get back my regular curl pattern but it is slowly coming back after one wash also I love how moist my hair is and that I did not have to put anything other than the Hair one on my head so tha it would be moist
My search is over. I love LOVE this cleanser! I have 3b, color-treated very thick and mermaid-length. Although I have to spend extra time in the shower washing and rinsing due to no sulfates, it's worth it! My hair turns out soft, no frizz, defined curl even without gel. I go more time in between washes because my hair looks just as good as it does right after I have washed it. Love it!
I've been using hair one for 6 months now. I love this stuff!! I bought the one with olive oil for dry hair and it's perfect. I tried the one for color treated hair and the consistency is just not the same, it sucked! Now that I've been natural for 3 months and I've dyed my hair permanently 4 times in 4 months, the hair one is perfect for cleansing and moisturizing. this is one of my staple products.
I cam across this product at sally's after watching the WEN commercial falling in love with the product. i have extremely dry 3a/3b hair. once i bought the trial product(generic),i wanted to try it before i bought the big bottle. i used as directed, even used a hair cap for over 5 min and my hair was messed up. It hadworsen than before so i honestly just don't think my hair can take that again.
I stumbled onto this product after doing research on this site for WEN. I had just colored my hair & the results were a disaster. My hair was dry & straw-like. I went to Sally's and found Hair One with Argan Oil for Curly Hair & purchased the last bottle. I went home & washed my hair according to the directions on the bottle and left in about 5 pumps as a leave-in overnight. Today, I rinced for 2-3 minutes then did my usual routine, using 2 pumps in place of my usual leave-in. My hair is amazing! Its sooooo soft and the curls are better than ever. The shine is back to. My only gripe is the smell. It's not terrible, but reminds me of a mens cologne. After adding curl cream & gel, its not noticable at all. I am very, very pleased with Hair One!
i tried the packet from sally's and i loved it. I could detangle my hair with this and I wasn't in the shower long because this basically replaced shampoo and conditioner.
This is one of the best products I have ever used! I like that it is a cleanser, conditioner, and leave-in all in one. Not to mention really affordable considering all of its uses. This product leaves my 3b curls defined, frizz free, and soft. SN: if your going to use it as a leave in makes sure hair is wet not damp or your results will not be good. I am currently using the formula for curly hair but I want to try the olive oil cleanser for dry hair.
My hair "HATED IT". This is Wen's cousin & I haven't tried Wen, but if it's anything like this I prefer not, but at least it's alot cheaper...
Very pleased with product. My 3b curls are curly and as shiny as curly hair gets. Unlike one c, it doesn't build up and seems to soften more. It also saves money on poo. I would really recommend it.
I really didn't llike the smell of this. I prefer Daily Fix Cleansing Conditioner by Curl Junkie.
I just started to work with my naturally curly hair abour the past 2 years. Ihave 3b hair and it curls great but like everyone lese that I know it dry dry dry and frizzy. I wanted to try Hair One before I invested in any Wen products because of its price. Well I love it there is a BIG difference and I bought the Olive Oil cleansing shampoo and I love it!
I have been using this product for the last few months and notice a big change in my hair. Its more moisturized and the curls look 100% better. Its the copy of the wen cleansing cream and think its wonderful. A must try, and Im a curl stylist who deal with many curly clients, tust me on this product.
