I love this brand; bought their baby shampoos, and face moisturizers etc... I bought both the shampoo and the conditioner. I love the ingredients and the smell. I have 3 types of hair: straight, fine at the bottom; 2A, medium in the middle; and 3B, fine hair on top. At first I loved the fact that these left my hair soft without harsh chemicals. But I realized that my hair was slickly. I thought maybe I didn't rinse my hair well enough. Apparently it wasn't my fault; unfortunately these weigh my curls down. So, I am not using them anymore. But since I like the ingredients, instead of throwing them away, I have started using them for my son who also has curly hair :)

I love this shampoo! It doesn't strip my hair. It doesn't leave my hair matted or extremely tangled.

I'm currently using this shampoo and I love it. I use it around every 3 days. It' doesn't have any harsh ingredients and doesn't strip my hair of moisture when I wash it. It's given me a lot more volume which I love because my hair usually falls flat.

Love this. My hair feels moisturized and actually thicker after using it.

I dont think this works for my 4a hair. It didn't provide any slip and it leaves my hair feeling and looking dry. I even tried it 3 times to be sure it wasnt just my imagination. This is a big NO in my book.

I used this when I was transitioning. Then when I went natural I started using Carol's Daughter Monoi collection so I gave this to my boyfriend. Since then I've bought my own again. I love this line! It makes my fair so soft and manageable. I love the way it smells and hope that they continue to produce this line!

This is the best shampoo I have ever used. It lathers well in my 4c hair (I love bubbles) and leaves it clean. My hair can be a little rough afterwards but once I use the moisture retention conditioner or any other brand, I have nothing to worry about.

This is the best natural shampoo next to Giovanni. My hair is always soft and clean after I use this shampoo.

I Love this shampoo...my hair didn't feel stripped at all and felt like I had used conditioner making it easy to detangle with this alone. A little goes a long way since it's really thick making it worth the price not to mention all of the good ingredients in it.

This was the first natural product I purchased and I instantly fell in love with it. I used it when I was relaxed and I didn't even have to use a comb. During my transition, this helped so much with managing the two textures. I loved it then and I love it now.

I use this in my hair (relaxed) my daughter's hair (4a/3c) and my husband's hair (natural waves). All of us love this product. For unique hair reasons, besides the obvious natural hair no no's, I have to find products that are glycerin, protein, lemon, and coconut free. This is one shampoo that I really like. It is moisturizing and not stripping unlike other shampoos. I only use this on my daughter's scalp, but it cleans very nicely and has a great smell. This is the first shampoo that I have used where I was ALMOST fooled into not conditioning her hair afterwards...lol...almost. Good job. Don't change the ingredients please...

I am 4c. When I use shampoo ; I really like this one. It leaves 4c soft which is pretty good for a shampoo. I am not sure about all the claims "moisturize & repair" because this is a shampoo and that would be pretty difficult to accomplish with other products. I will keep in my regimen for now.

Like i said for the conditioner.. This product was good when i was transitioning but once i became completely natural... NO GO! It somewhat dried my hair wasn't as moisturizing as it claims..

i ABSOLUTELY love this stuff! It leaves my hair moisturized and a little bit goes a long way :) Even though $10 is a little pricey, I don't mind paying for it because it helps my hair! This is a must buy for everyone!

Its the best moisture retention shampoo I have ever had and I am a hair product junkie! Although the bad news is my hair didn't feel clean at all, the smell is way too strong and too earthy for my liking, and feels too much like an conditioner. But, I reccomend adding organic honey to this mixture just to add intense moisture or for a deep conditioning treatment. I am at a love/hate relationship with this one. I am also allergic to it (sneezed for at least 2 days) and the smell sticks with you so it feels like you haven't rinsed it out at all! EVERYONE should try this out! Even though I had trouble with it, it was voted best shampoo in Allure magazine so it must be worth it. It also lasts a long time too so it's great for anyone else but me.

I had really high expectations for this stuff, considering its overall 5 curl rating, but I was sadly disappointed. Perhaps because I've been co-washing and using DevaCurl No-Poo, this stuff seemed like going back to the horrible days of regular shampoo. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I poured the sodium laureth sulfate atop my head, but whatever this "Decyl Glucoside" ingredient is, it leaves a residue on my hair. I've noticed it from other shampoos I've tried containing this ingredient, it literally feels like I washed my hair with soap. Ick.

I LOOOOVE this as a clarifyer! It doesn't leave my hair stripped at all, and it lathers nicely. It helps me get rid of buildup, too. I plan to use it every 2-4 weeks. I just took off one curl because I don't think it provides a significant amount of hydration like it says, but it certainly doesn't take away too much. It's perfect for CGers who cowash and need a way to clean their hair every once in a while without totally stripping it dry. Smells great, too!

This is by far the best shampoo I have ever used. Before this product, my expectations of shampoo in general were pretty low. I expected them to clean my hair and that was is. I never knew a shampoo could moisturize and detangle like a conditioner! Well this product DOES. It even lathers really well, even though it's organic. My favorite product by Shea Moisture.

I like this a lot, but hate the smell

I really like this shampoo I have 3b curls and I feel as though this does cleanse my scalp without over-drying. I also was surprised at how well this product lathers.

This product is so refreshing. It instantly softens and moisturizes my hair and goes straight to the roots! I like that it is sulfate-free and good for transitioning. Right now, I have a relaxer, but I will not be getting anymore, especially if this product continues to revive my hair like it does, and I'm sure it will.

I LOVE this shampoo. And I will not go back to anything less. It's $12.99. I use a quarter sized amount and had lots and lots of suds, mind you there are NO sulfates no harsh chemicals at all. This shampoo had my hair soft, curly and in love. I love this!!! Even after I rinsed it out, my hair was extremely soft. I felt like a baby.

A MIRACLE!!!! I tried Miss Jessie's Super Slip Sudsy Shampoo and Creme de la Creme Conditioner and afterward my hair was looked like I had given up on taking care of it YEARS ago (not the business). I tried this line on a whim and Great Heavens to Betsy, this was "The Truth" (as they say). So Moisturized! My hair felt more moisturized after just shampooing (which NEVER happens to my hair)! A miracle in a bottle!!!

AMAZING!!!!!!!!! This shampoo (barely call it that) is so good! It doesnt strip my hair of nutrients like other shampoos and it leaves my hair so soft! The key is to only work through on the scalp and massage it in to clean the scalp and it makes my hair so soft its almost like a conditioner..i really recommend this to anyone with thick hair

I Love This Product. I love the way it makes my hair smell and I love the tingly feeling on my scalp after a wash. It Lathers up good and softens hair when it is washed out. Compared to the products I used to you, Garnier Fructis, this is a much better fit for my afro-centric hair! Strongly recommend. It's worth the ten bucks!

Rich. This product is very rich. On my oily scalp, I had to use about half as much shampoo as I do with any other brand. It came out of the bottle very thick, and just rich. I got a surprising amount of lather, yet it didn't leave my hair feeling stripped. My hair felt smooth and lightly moisturized as I rinsed it out. I've only used it once (this morning) but so far, this seems to be an excellent choice for anyone with an oily scalp. It gave me a strong enough lather to make my scalp feel clean with just one application, and yet didn't totally strip my length of moisture.

Luv the smell. I really cant say that it did wonders or nothing for my hair. Let me just say that I hate the BOTTLE, its like pulling teeth to get the product out of the bottle.

Right now I am in the process of transitioning and it has been extremely difficult trying to find a shampoo that works with both hair textures. This shampoo did not give my hair a stripped feeling and moisturized my hair surprisingly well. The shampoo does feel like it weighs down your hair a bit but i don't think it should be an issue. A GREAT PURCHASE.

Definately hands down my favorite shampoo. It is very moisturizing and helps to stretch my 4c hair which is great since I have a lot of shrinkage. Also it gets my hair sooo soft where I'm able to just run my fingers through my hair in the shower. Lovely smell and love that its all natural.

I really like this shampoo, it lathers well and cleans without over-drying or tangling. It smells good too, and is a great price for the quality. The one thing is that the product itself is oddly sticky, and though the stickiness goes away once in your hair, it is rather inconvenient at first. Overall a great buy!

I like this shampoo. I have 4a, fine, low porosity hair and this shampoo is good but I prefer the coconut & hibiscus product alot more. I think the heavier oils in this one makes my hair weigh my hair down and I feel like there s a coating on my hair even though my scalp feels clean - not my idea of clean hair. I still use it interchangeably with the coconut & hibiscus poo. Will rebuy on a sale but the coconut & hibiscus is my go too. In fact I adore the entire coconut & hibiscus line!

I Love this !!! at first i wasnt enjoying the shampoo, then i compared it to a sulfate shampoo and i saw a MAJOR difference, thats when i saw the significance of this product, the only thing i don't like is how hard it is to squeeze the shampoo out of the bottle!

This product is a bit hard to get throughout your hair, but easily messaged onto your scalp. Which is really all you need it to do. If you are transitioning into the curlygirl method, it will feel quite different then regular shampooing, but your hair won't feel like straw afterwords unlike regular shampoos. I think this product works great, as long as you are not using any products with build up ( silicones etc.). It lasts quite a long time, especially if you aren't using products that cause build up, and you are only washing your a couple times a week. All in all, I think its a pretty good product, and it has helped with my frizzing. * I will only give products 5 curls, if they are a miricle in a botle. Which I don't believe exsists! lol

I gave this product 4 curls simply because of the smell. I love the product itself but the smell makes me think of my grandma's church perfume (STRONG). If you like that strong smell then you would like this. If you like a lighter scent I would go with the coconut and hibiscus one

This is an okay product but it is best used when you are wearing your natural hair color. It also has a tendency to strip hair and maybe best used as a clarifying shampoo.

This is an amazing shampoo! I've only used it once on my 3C/4A hair, but from the moment I put it in my hair, it felt so moisturized and soft. I honestly didn't even feel like I needed to use conditioner after this shampoo. Of course I did, but this shampoo is def a curly girls dream. I'm still experimenting with the rest of the Shea Moisture which does not seem to be as good as this shampoo, which is too bad because I like to use a complete line of products. Anyway, try this shampoo, you won't be disappointed!

This shampoo has been inducted into my holy grail of products!!! I have never in my life used a shampoo that made my hair feel so soft. It suds up really thick and I love the smell. Definitely a keeper.

I have tried a lot of moisturizing shampoos but this stuff is like liquid gold. I used 2 quarter sized drops on my hair and it went a long way. It lathers well and definitely defines the curls in my hair. I have two bottles and I pray that I will always be able to get this at my local walgreens. I love this shampoo.

i think this is prob my FAVE sheamoisture product and possibly even favourite product ever... I'm currently transitioning and can honestly say i never thought a shampoo could be so moisturizing, i hav four of these in my bathroom because I loved it that much. I just wish they made it in larger quantity (if they do I dont know about it yet) It completely moisturizes my hair but also cleans it very efficiently, i don't have to use a lot either, i have pretty dense hair and i just line my fingertips and massage my scalp in four diff sections after its wet of course. Most of the times I cant resist running my fingers through my hair in a mini-detangle, because its that moisturizing.

This is easily the best shampoo I have ever used. It moisturizes without weighing down my fine hair, but what amazes me most is that it really cleanses my hair and scalp as well. I have kind of an oily scalp, and this shampoo really cleans away the excess oil without stripping and drying out my hair. Somehow they have found the magical balance between moisturizing and cleansing, at least for me. The smell is perfumier than I like my shampoos to be, but I have gotten used to it, and the other benefits totally outweigh the scent. My hair and scalp feel very healthy and happy.

LOVE this shampoo! Super moisturizing, gives a nice lather, smells like shea butter lol. I love that I don't have to use a lot to get my hair and scalp clean (I put my hair in about 8-12 sections when washing and i use a dime amount per section). I feel like it pre-detangles my hair because I can run my fingers through my hair before putting a drop of conditioner on my hair. I love it would definitley recommend this product!

Hi Curlies, First, I must say, I am a die hard fan of Shea Moisture. I love the Raw Shea Butter line. This is my ultimate fav Shampoo. When I tell you this stuff lasts--because you only need a little bit to build up lather (. I go through the Conditioner weekly (as use it as a leave as well) but the shampoo lasts me months (I shampoo twice a week max). It even detangles as you're shampooing. -Samii

This is the BEST shampoo I've ever used. Simply because it is the only "moisturizing shampoo" that actually moisturizes my super dry and parched 4B hair. I think I may have the driest hair and scalp on the planet (eczema as well), and this is the only shampoo that left my hair feeling soft, moist, not stripped, and the scent is lovely. I don't have any natural oils in my hair to begin with so instead of "not stripping my hair of natural oils," this stuff "added the natural oils I was lacking!" I was also able to detanlge my hair (using my fingers) with the shampoo alone. And a little goes a long way. Again, I have super thick coarse hair, and a quarter size amount covered my whole head with lather. The only problem? I followed up with the deep conditioning masque. That stuff is horrible!

i love this shampoo, i've been using it since the better part of spring onward and it's the best shampoo i've used. I've tried different types such as carol's daugher, garnier fructis and this one has out shone them. It leaves my hair moist, clean but with slip and i don't have to use alot to get a slight later on my scalp. This is definitely a keeper as well as the entire line of Raw Shea butter products of the SheaMoisture line. I suggest if you're not happy with what you have give SheaMoisture a try, you most likely won't regret it.

A very good product. However, I just couldn't get past the scent any longer; gave me a headache. So, after six months, I am no longer using this product.

FINALLY a shampoo that I don't have to be scared to use! It left my hair feeling soft and moisturized and gave my wavy-curls a nice boost. It has a bit of lather to it, which is a very nice change from the other CG poos I've used. I have very coarse and porous hair so I still needed my rinse out and leave in conditioners (as I had expected I would). Will continue to use and hope for the same good results!

I recently purchased this product and have since tried it on my Sister's(4b) hair and my Daughter's(3c/4a) hair. This product is awesome! On both hair types it left the hair feeling extremely moisturized and soft. It smells nice, and has a very slippery texture. I also found that not much is needed to shampoo a whole head of hair whither TWA or Mid back length hair. Plus it is easy to get at Target. I cant wait for my shampoo day.

Now a staple product of mine! Leaves hair feeling conditioned before I even get to conditioning! I just wish they made a conditioner; I haven't gotten around to their deep treatment mask.

The 1st sulfate free poo I've used that actually lathers beautifully but doesn't strip my hair. Decyl glucodisde is the lathering agent (which is gentle on hair and the environment). I wouldn't go as far as to say that this poo left my hair moisturized, but it definately got my hair and scalp clean and fresh, but not stripped. My search for a gentle poo is officially over.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stuff!!!! This is by far one of the best sulfate-free poos i've ever had to cleanse my hair. Its especially useful if I clarified my hair with a ACV (apple cider vinegar) diluted mixture before washing it. Helped my hair to "grab" the moisture from the product = AWESOME

Love the shampoo. It gives me some slip and it's easy to detangle with before I do a DT with the masque. Grr! Why aren't there any targets closer to San Francisco! (That don't require me to have a car. lol)

Ppl, if you are allergic to Coconut as I am then THIS IS THE SHAMPOO FOR YOU!!!! it was almost impossible to find a shampoo for me that doesnt contain coconut to the point where I had to start making my own, and I am just too lazy for that,LOL.I was fortunate enough to find a full bottle for swap at a Natural Hair Gathering.I have 3C-4A hair and I love the way it cleanses my hair. 12 fl oz for under $10.00 is the icing on the cake. I will definately be buying.
