I didn't like this product when I first used it because I thought it was supposed to be a moisturizer. It took me purchasing it 2 years later and using very small amounts of it to realize that it is a styler. Now I use it instead of gel for my twist outs and get a great result. Plus it smells like candy!

This product works really well with my hair. I usually put it in while my hair is still soaking wet. It helps me tame some of my frizz and keeps my hair moisturized, especially in the winter.

Purchased this because of all the great reviews, but it made my hair feel sticky and clumpy. The crown of my head was all clumped together! It smelled wonderful but just wasnt for me

This stuff helps with frizz,shrinkage,humidity, and curl definition. I really love this stuff for my 3b & 3c hair. The only thing is, .. I seem to be the only one not in love with the smell lol, it's okay to me, even a little annoying but I rarely notice it.

I've been using this for about a year and it works pretty well on my puffy 3C hair (though I have to use this with another product). I have sensitive, acne-prone skin and the cream causes breakouts along my hair line, forehead and neck. Unfortunately I have to stop using it.

This product is okay. It has a weird, sticky texture that doesn't go away. Also, when I used it frequently, like as my regular conditioner or leave-in, it caused a lot of breakage (I'm guessing because of the protein in it...?) ||| It works best for me as a mask or DC, and even then, there are better products out there.

at first i tried using it as a styling cream but i think it was way too heavy for my hair and it would make my hair look weighed down and a bit greasy, so i started to use it as a deep conditioner and i feel that washing it out after a few hours and putting heat on it has been giving me a good dose of protein. it also smells WONDERFUL! makes my hair really volumized and lightweight afterwards.

If someone told me I was going to have my entire curl stash of styling products taken away from me but I could choose one. This would be it! This stuff is buttery and moisturizing but still isn't to heavy. It smells gorgeous and it makes curls pop. I also love the way it smells. LOVE!

I have recently decided to become natural. After doing my bc in January I was always afraid to show my hair because my hair is very coarse. I never thought my hair could ever feel soft until I bought this product. I am in love and I am not afraid to wear my fro because it is now soft and manageable. It also adds moisture that last for days!!! I love it!

This just might be my HG product. As a wavy 2a/b with fine and porous hair, I wasn't sure what to expect, but the results are amazing and unlike any other product that I've tried (which is more than I care to admit!). After cowashing and using KKKT as a leave in, I apply a fairly small amount of the smoothie using a 'praying' motion down the length of my hair, and then I simply scrunch and go. The resulting waves are soft and natural with loose definition. Zero crunch, zero 'wet look'. Totally touchable tousled waves. I do experience some frizz by later in the day (Pacific west coast spring), but nothing that can't be solved with a little damp scrunch-n-smooth at the bathroom sink at lunch time. Given that this product is all natural, I think that my search for the perfect product is over. Wavies, if you're finding this product too sticky or heavy, cut back on how much you use... I was surprised by how little I need in my long hair. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

This product is too heavy for my hair and left it feeling too producty/ oily/ tangly. I love the smell and ingredients list though, but feel it is best suited to thick, coarse hair as recommended on the label. I was able to use this in the winter on occasion, as it really did make my hair LOOK nice, but I didn't like the way it FELT at all. I have 3a medium texture, high porosity hair. Oils don't normally feel heavy on me unless I use too much, for reference.

This is a must buy! It does what it says it does. very moisturizing and great for the loc method, twist outs, and wash and go's

I love this product! I place a nickel-size amount in my hair after wetting in the shower and it does miracles. My curls become more defined without becoming sticky or crunchy, and they look fuller, shinier, and healthier! This is perfect for a wash-and-go! Plus it has all natural ingredients as well!

I love love love this stuff. I had given up on twist outs because they never gave me the definition that I wanted. But after using this I have regained hope. My curls have never popped with any other product. They are so defined and they lasted for days. The shrinkage is crazy but I really don't mind it. By the second day it begins to stretch from "pineappling" at night. I have been using it for my twist outs and I can't wait to try it on my wash and gos.

I didn't read many reviews about this product from wavies so I was concerned about the possibility that this product might be too heavy for my hair, but I just had to try it anyway. I am so glad I did. I used this and the souffle instead of my usual kckt/kccc combination, and i can't believe the difference! I thought that the kccc combo was amazing, this works even better for my hair. I can even use it to refresh 2nd day hair. Amazing product in my book!

This is truly what it professes to be and is the best product I discovered for my 4C hair providing the moisture required for my hair type. Because the smoothie worked so well for my hair, I was encouraged to purchase other Shea Moisture products. Today I use Shea Moisture's Moisture Retention shampoo, the Cowashing Conditioner, the Restorative Conditioner, the Moisture & Hold mist and the Curling Souffle. The Smoothie is my #1 go-to product every time I twist and/or roll my hair. I have NEVER seen such beautifully defined and moisturized curls as I have with this product. I recommend it to anyone who finds their hair to be dry or unmanageable. The curl enhancing smoothie with altar that outlook. It certainly has for me.

This stuff is amazing, my sister bought it at target after it being recommended by a friend. Not only does this stuff smell so good you want to eat it, but it smooths your hair and it doesn't gunk up. I have real dry hair and I need something that won't damage my hair any further. Great for everyday use!

haven't tried this yet but I bet this is going to be great im retraisioning to natural so far ive tried a lot of shea moistures hair products and they were all great this one will be great too I bet

The only reason I give this product two curls is because of the scent. My twa is multi-textured, it's mostly 3c, and frizzy in the top, this product did nothing to alleviate the frizz. I brought the whole kit containing: shampoo, styling milk, curl smoothie, and misting spray. I tried everything separately and combined and I do not like the results. My hair feels bushy and lacks curl. I am thankful that I brought this kit at a deeply discounted cost or I wold be more unhappy about the results. :(

I really, really am not impressed by Shea Moisture products. I purchased the Curling Smoothie with hopes that it would give my curls some definition and hold as well as cut down on frizz. It did none of this, in fact it made my hair look frizzier than usual after it dried-and it took close to four hours for my hair to dry with this in it. I've tried using this product about five different ways with as many different combos of products and NONE of them have had any success. I don't know if Shea Moisture products are just too heavy for my baby fine hair or if I'm not using them correctly or what it is-but this product was such a dissapointment. I loved the way it smelled but in the end it resulted in no curl definition and a boatload of frizz. It doesn't work on my mother's hair either, and she has fine hair too, just like me. Also, the shrinkage in this is ridiculous. When my hair is straightened it's to my breasts, when I used this, it's nearly above my ears. Not cool. I think this product would work better for women who have thicker hair. For fine hair it seems to do nothing but weigh it down-and this is the experience I've had using most of the other Shea Moisture products. I just don't think they have good stylers for fine hair. Maybe it's catered to women who have 3c-4b hair? I don't know. I just hate that I paid almost $10 for something that does not work.

I really like this stuff! I doesn't weigh my hair down and it moisturizes very well (which is good because my hair sucks up water). It smells great and defines my curls nicely :) It took me a while to realize that a little goes a long way with this product because too much will leave residue.

I've been using this on my 3A curls for about a month. Previously I used the Curl & Style Milk (for around a year), but when I tried the smoothie, I found it works better. I follow it up with a tiny bit of gel. Makes my hair shiny & happy, especially in these dry winter months. I will likely just use less of it in the summer. I have a very sensitive scalp, and many gels & leave-in conditioners give me a rash, but this is great on my scalp. I've yet to try it with a defuser, as I prefer to air-dry my hair (even though it takes around 3 hours at medium length), but my guess is that it would do rather well since it's so rich and emollient.

I've been using this for a little over 3 months. I like the smell and consistency. It woks best wet on my 3b/3c hair, when dry it does nothing. It does add shine and moisture, but always leaves my hair looking puffy and frizzy when dry. It definitely is NOT a stand alone product. I've combined this with many stylers and it's really hit or miss (more miss than hit) Not anything special, I really can get the same results with much cheaper products. I now only use it on my ends on top of my leave in and it works really well at locking moisture in as long as I apply to wet hair. I love that there's no build up or residue. I also like that its all natural.

I am in love with this product! It helps keep my curls soft to the touch and I tried it with a wash n' go and it was wonderful! Will be looking forward to trying more of the Shea Moisture line.

I adore this product SO much! It has a lovely smell, great texture, very moisturizing, and great for second day hair (sometimes even third day hair! what can I say, I'm a mom of a toddler, haha!)! I think it's a great price too. Even though I use it nearly every day for my shoulder length hair it usually takes me a while to get through a jar.

I am in love with this product! I apply it to my hair immediately after I co-wash. I apply extra virgin olive oil after, and my hair stays soft and moisturized for days!

I love love love this stuff. I have found a product that works for me. Finally! I love how my hair feels. I love the smell. I just put a little in my hands and run it through my hair when wet. It mousturizes very well. And it does not weigh my hair down. That is what I love most about it. This product has everything I need to get my hair back healthy and beautiful again.

I wasn't so sure about this product at first. It contains glycerine which seems to not work for me with other products. Also I wasn't sure I really needed it. But now I'm sold. I can use this product as a base styler/leave in before gel, as a deep treatment, as a refreshing cream for the next day if my curls have gone haywire while I slept, and apparently as a hand lotion because my hands are always really soft after applying it. There's also talk of it being a good rinse out. I don't know. (Seems to good to rinse down the drain!) I just know there's nothing this product can't do for my 3A curls. It keeps them moisturized, enhances my curl pattern, and adds an extra layer of hold. I also love the smell. I wish it smelled like something else though because it honestly does make me very hungry for fruit. Kind of distracting. Honestly the curl and style milk is even worse though. It makes me want a pina colada. But I'll save that review for later.

Great styler. Great moisturizer. Even better when used on damp hair. Gives my hair great shine and definition. Please remember that a little goes a long way. If you use too much, there will be white residue. Took me a while to realize that one.

I just recently started my natural journey and heard about Shea moisture. I LOVE this product. It gives my hair the moisture it needs and helps with styling when I coil my hair. I am 4c and it works great!

Okay I think I figured it out. I started using this as a base when my hair is wet before my twists. I use this, then a little hair milk, and then the soufflé while I twist. In the morning I undo my twists and YES!! My twist out last for 3 days and possibly 4 if I leave my fingers out of it! Lots of moisture with no frizz!!

I don't understand how I am supposed to use this. I use the milk for moisture and the soufflé for definition, but this product does nothing.

This stuff is horrible, after drying it left my hair dry and sticky and there wasn't much curl definition. I prefer Kinky Curly Curling Custard 100x more than this.

Again, I don't understand the hype around this product. It left my hair more dry than before I used it, the product caused build up on my hair and scalp and for some reason it made my scalp inflamed and sore. NO THANKS.

I LOVE this stuff!! It definitely enhances my curls. I still have like half a jar and I bought it a year ago, a little goes a long way. Smells awesome, consistency is thick like I like it. You do not have to use a lot of this product for it to work!! Fair warning

I used this product on its own, in combination with the Milk, and with Deva ArcAnGel, and just couldn't find a good mix for it. It worked for the first part of the day, my curls were soft and tight, but by the end of the day my hair looked and felt greasy/straw like. I didn't really care for it. The smell is nice in the Smoothie, not too over whelming. Personally, I preferred the KCCC.

I have been using this product for almost a year now and it has been apart of my styling routine. I have thick long hair and this product makes my curls defined and soft. I only use it after I wash my hair and it is clean and ready for styling I have never used it on dry hair but I doubt it would work as well because it is very thick. It smells nice and adds enough hold for my ringlet curls.

It does help curl your hair . I have thick hair and im 3b, 3c in certain areas. It doesnt give 2nd hair on me. Maybe others. It also feels drying once you put it in hair. Once it is dry it feels so-so. Honestly i feel its just a basic product nothing to oooo about if you know how your hair should feel. It doesnt smell pretty good!

I love this!! I typically use this when I do twist outs and I get good results, but I started using it when I do two strands and it's great!! It moisturizes, defines my curls, gives my hair shine, and keep my twists frizz free. Also, unlike what it says here, it is sulfate free, which is the main reason why I started using it.

So far I love this stuff ! A little certainly goes a long way with it and I love the definition it provides for my 4a/3c twa ! Coupled with the hair milk which I was reluctant to try due to its consistency my hair has the perfect amount of definition and moisture ! My sister has a full head of hair and has used it on her 4a/3c twist out and it turns out amazing ! <3

I love this product! Having 4a hair it's hard for me to find affordable and effective products but I tried this and at first I wasn't sure what to do with it but recently I've been applying it to my wet hair, brushing it then doing two strand twists and it leaves my hair shiny and bouncy. I need to get more!

I have pretty fine 3b hair and I think this product was too heavy for my hair. Then again, I may have used to much, but I'll try it again with less product. It definitely defined my curls, but didn't do much for frizz. I'm going to try and put a small amount of this product under my ArcAngel.

I wasn't sure about this after i first used it. I used it for a twist out and two strand twist. It didn't provide alot of moisture, but I loved what it did for my twist out and the hold it gave me for my two strand twist. I didn't have to continuously retwist, and I loved this product for that.

It has been a while since I have used this and I still have some left in the jar in my product junkie reserve drawer. I was just starting to transition when I purchased it, so I will give it another try eventually as my hair is in MUCH better condition now. I love the fact that the ingredient list is comprised of recognizable ingredients. I have used this for twistouts and it provided shine and bounce, but hold is minimum as expected. I won't get 2nd day hair from this alone with a wash and go, but if it is layered under something with better hold it does it's job. I like the fact that it is not just a styling product but that I am "feeding" my hair with the ingredients. I think the smell is ok, but I am not sensitive to smells either way. I wouldn't say it is a must have for me, but it is nice to have as a backup and considering the quality of ingredients, it is fairly priced.

I have a love & hate relationship with this product. I find it works best on clean wet hair. I use it like a creamy moisturizer. I put leave-in or gel over it to hold my curls in place. Its seems to play well with other products but sometimes for no reason it makes my hair frizz.. My hair needs help to curl..so its great for making my hair curl up. but if I leave it that it will puff up. So it needs something else to hold the curl in place and smooth while it drys. So far it works well with Mixed Silk leave-in.

Smells awesome, great moisturizer, big jar and a little goes a long way so the product will last. Not too expensive. I just find it to be a bit thick on my hair and it takes for ever to dry. Great for twist out, ok for wash n gos. I might revisit this product when my hair gets a lil longer

I have been using this product for about 4-5 weeks now and must say, I really like this product. Any product that is $10 or less and really works gets my vote. The moisture and definition from twist outs are phenomenal! I get a full weeks worth of moisture and definition from my twist-outs and that is a plus for me. Prior to using this product I've been using Cantu (not the naturals line) cream and yes the moisture & definition was there but for maybe 3-4 days. I will purchase this product again. I'm not using the entire line, just the smoothie.

I'm a 3b and idk my hair is just not cooperating with this product. I'm mixed (african american and pacific islander) It makes my hair dry.. ahh I really was hoping it was gonna work for my hair!

I have 3b fine hair and I just started getting into finally learning how to care for my curls. This is a great product, I use it as a leave in mostly. It's not very good for detangling, though, so I don't recommend this to girls with fine 3b (somewhat damaged) hair as an in shower conditioner. Maybe it would work better if my hair was less damaged. This product smells SO nice and has really great hold! I've been using it as an alternative to gel and mousse. While my hair is wet I'll take a glob about the size of a nickel and scrunch it on to one side and repeat for the next side. It is a little heavy on my hair, so I do not rake it through because that causes my curls to go flat! The hold is so good that after applying it to my wet hair, when my hair was damp and i could finally see all the fly aways and broken curls i just took some water, poked the product and swirled the problem pieces in small sections and it created a reallllly nice ringlet effect! it held up all day. I will probably buy this again :) I have the leave in conditioner too (bogo at CVS!) but I havent used it much since this one rocks so much.

Great curl cream. (It's almost as perfect as the completely perfect Coffee Coco Curl Cream.) Curl Enhancing Smoothie gives my hair much needed moisture plus good separation and hold. This lasts for a couple of days, and SheaMoisture Coconut Hibiscus Spray is the perfect refresher spray to reactivate this product and regain shape minus frizz. The reasonable price is so nice to see on such a high quality, effective product. Defintely a staple for me.

This is hands down my favorite product. It's so soft and it makes my hair so moisturized and it smells amazing, it's just awesome and makes my curls look great.

This product definitely adds moisture to my hair. It enhances my curls and does not weigh my hair down at all .It's extremely versatile as I use it to do braid-outs, twists, wash-n-go and just as a daily moisturizer to replenish 2nd/3rd hair. Great price point too for a natural product. I gave it 4 stars because if I use too much of it on my dry curls it will tend to make my hair slightly frizzy. I am still working on figuring out the right amount to use.

I love love love...did I mention LOVE this product. The smell is fantastic and the product does a great job at enhancing my curls. The only drawback is that it gives me build up (because I use it daily) but I co-wash so it's not a big issue.

My hairtype is 3b/c. I was very excited to use this product, but when I first used it I hated it. It didn't do any of the things it says it should do; my curls weren't defined nor moistured. I first used it as a seal in over my KCKT. Now, I use it before I go to bed. I put a little all over my hair, make two french braids and go to sleep. When I wake up my hair is so soft and moisturized and I don't have to add any water or product to make it look good! If it were for sale in Europe I'd buy it again. It doesn't do what it's supposed to for my hair, but because it's an all natural moisturizing product it's okay.

i tried using this product twice and both times I was left with a white flaky residue. Although it did leave my hair nice and soft, I rather now walk around with flakes.

There is no question about it--this product absolutely makes my hair softer upon drying. I smooth a relatively small amount through my very wet hair, sometimes in sections. If I am braiding my hair back at this point, I don't need to use any other products. When I take the hair out of the braid it is SO soft. However if I just want to leave my hair down to air dry, this product is not enough. There is not enough hold, and the curls start to frizz up and separate (even when they aren't touched or jostled). I also don't have hours to sit in one spot in the air conditioning waiting for my hair to dry perfectly before heading out into the humidity, which this product requires for best results. I love the softness, but I still haven't found quite the right product to pair with this moisturizing smoothie when I want to let my locks free!

i didnt really like it...i made sure my hair was washed and free of silicones not that i use them..but just to make sure...and it literally sat on top of my hair as i did a twist out...the next day my hair was hard and crunchy...so i kept using it..thinking my hair had to adapt..and it was just too much protein for me..i even paired it with eco-styler and tried to shingle my hair like other naturals...no bueno..GREAT INGREDIENTS THOUGH..i reallllly wanted to love this as much as i see other natural women do..

This product is great on my fine 3B hair! At first it made it feel kind of oily and gloppy, but I think I was using too much. If I work this through, then clip or plop and allow to dry naturally, I get super soft, bouncy, moisturized curls. (I should mention that they dry a little hard, but as soon as I scrunch and loosen up the curls at the scalp, they feel super soft.) Using this as a solo product, with some of the milk to tame frizz or for 2nd day hair. 4 curls because I wish I could use this alone, but it's a little too heavy for my hair to use on the 2nd day. Still, a great product at a great price. Check Target, they sometimes have a very good sale on this!

I like this product not sure if I'm in love yet, I've been using for 6 days now. Conditions hair YES! Restoring moisture YES! Shine.. not so much. I noticed my hair is alot thicker (which I looove) and super duper soft. I haven't had to use it every single day. One night my satin cap fell off during my sleep and usually when this happens I wake up and my hair is dry but with this product my hair was still soft and fluffy. I also noticed that the little hairs on the nap of my neck are now tiny little curls instead of.. blah. Now haven't tried this product on any actual style ( I've been wearing a pinned up puff kinda thing this week lol) Not giving this product 5 stars because I haven't used it to its full potential.. but so far so good. Oh and it smells amazing, and this coming from a person who hates coconuts.

LOVEEEE this product especially w/ the Curl Style Milk. This stuff always leaves my hair moisturized and ENHANCES my curls. Also, out of all the products ive used for wash and goes, I always get the least shrinkage w/ these two products. I strongly recommend them to anyone w/ dry hair of any natural hair type. Always have to have some in the house or w/ me when traveling.

Love this product! It has great ingredients, a great price, and is available on the ground. You don't have to use the whole jar to get results and it has a great smell. Keeps my hair moisturized for days. I usually use it under a gel and it eliminates some of the crunch that even a maximum hold of 10 gel can have. Love it for wash and go's, twists, and braid outs. I have type 3b/c hair.

I tried this and thought the smell was too strong, but it worked alright with my hair. After reading another post I bought the shampoo and conditioner because they are affordable. I think it actually works better when used together.

Didn't like it I returned the second one and never finished the first jar. It left a residue in my hair.

I Like... Its very moisturizing. I use this to do my twist-outs and it looks AMAZING twisted..BUT when i undo my twist throughout the day I can see the frizziness, the moisture doesn't last more than one day.. Its ok.. i think i can find better though

Ok so this thing gets 5 curls from me! It's greeeaaaaaat for mini-twists, it makes my hair do soft; and it smells like heaven!!!! I can use any shampoo or conditioner I want cuz this just covers it all with its sweet, sweeeet sent! -my 4c hair is happy ^_^

FFor my 3c corkscrew curls this stuff is AMAZING!! I got it in the SheaMoisture curl and shine kit and my hair loves it along with the entire coconut and hibiscus line. I use it as a deep condition or on top of the curling soufle to combat major frizz. This leaves my hair soft and moisturized for at least 3 days (I wash or cowash every 3 days).All in all I will be rebuying because this along with the rest of the line is my new staple.

I bought this product, as well as the shampoo and conditioner, and I must say I was very impressed. I to was hesitant about purchasing this product because I had already purchased so many different products and was disappointed with the outcome. I did give in and purchased this, and I will never look back. My hair is 4c and I never had curls after washing my hair. When I washed my hair and conditioned and applied the smoothie after it dried, my hair was soft and curly. I am very impressed by Shea Moisture and will tell anyone to try it.

I was so hesitant to purchase this; I know the reviews are stellar and no one had complained about this product but my staple WAS DevaCurl Styling Cream. I loved DCSC so much that I didn't want to try anything else, though SM is way cheaper and it wouldn't hurt to try. We all have our staples and get a little to attached sometimes, right? ;p Well last night I broke and purchased this instead of my DCSC. I was nervous and skeptical but the Pina Colada smell altered my judgement and I left Ricky's with it. So the verdict: aMAZING! It takes DCSC and knocks it out of the window. Also it's much cheaper and smells awesome. I love love love love this product. Now I may need to slow my role because I have only tried it once but what the heck. It worked so well especially in this horrible heat. I mean no frizz! All that is left is defined, fluffy, soft and beautiful curls. It is a keeper and a must.

I have 4a hair. This product to me works best after a shampoo w/ the shea smoothie shea butter shampoo and conditioner. I use it for two-strand twists. Makes my hair super soft, unlike twist-outs with gel.

I bought this last year in August and I still have it in my cabinet. It can seriously last 2 years or more. It smells almost like pina colada drink, It has a thick creamy texture and it does sink into your hair. You can use it as a detangler or add protein and it brings out a natural shine to any style. It doesn't take away crunching like the Shea Moisture Yucca and Biotin thickening conditioner. But it lightly softens your hair. Use a little bit and concentrate mostly on the ends of your hair. Since it is a curl enhancing smoothie, it does shrink your hair but, that doesn't bother me. I would reccomend this for people who don't have severe allergies to plants/fruits, who want a product that can last them a couple years, beginners, and who can stand minor residue and shrinkage.

I LOVE this stuff!!! At first I was a little reluctant because it seemed like everything just wouldn't make my hair look AMAZING. But I decided to buy it at Walgreens and I'm so glad I did. It has a very good quantity for the price and plus it smells like a coconut and pineapple smoothie. Yum. I applied about three fingertips worth of the product all over my hair after i got done with a co-wash, raked it through and let it air dry overnight. When I woke up, it had this natural shine and it was bouncy and defined, NO frizz and SO soft!!! I'm so glad to find my first staple in my regimen :)

I tried the smoothie this morning for the first time. I used it alone after washing and conditioning my hair. Scooped out about two tablespoons for my thick, shoulder length hair, rubbed it in my hands and just scrunched it in my towel dried hair, and let it air dry. On the plus side, I have had my hair up and down a couple of times in a pony tail at work, and under a cowboy hat blowing around in my jeep, and I have had zero frizz all day with great curl definition with just a little scrunching or fluffing every time I took the hat off or out of the pony tail. On the minus side, every time I scrunch my fingers through my hair, my hands have a slightly greasy feel to them. My hair doesn't look greasy though, and I love the smell. I will try again tomorrow with about half of what I used today in hopes that I get the same look, but no residue on my hands (although my hands are staying moist, which may be good for my nails!). Expecting rain in a couple of days, so that will really be the test!

I really like this product. I use it to wet twist my hair and to enhance my twist-outs. It's not heavy or too light and it works well with my EVOO-Coconut oil mixture as I moisturize and seal. I picked it up at Target at a reasonable price ($9.99). I recommend it for types 3c and up.

This product is A M A Z I N G ! I use this for my braidouts and it keeps my hair moisturized all week. The smell is fantastic and also is the $9.99 price. This is something worth buying for your hair.

This product is an essential part of my styling routine. The thickness provides less frizz and easy to restyle without washing all over again. I apply this right after my leave in cond. and im good to go!

I have tried this smoothie over and over again, but it does not yield AMAZING results for me. I like the curl milk better.

I got very nice curl definition with this and it elongated my curls but my curls looked more stringy and less clumped. I have fine 3c/4a hair and I think it was a bit too heavy for me but it has a nice scent and I liked the definition I got.

This is my go to holy grail hair product. I use it for leave in, conditioning, smoothing the next day, and it always does great. It has great slip when using as a rinse out conditioner, and is a great non greasy/non heavy leave in especially on my ends that are really coarse and recquire alot of product. Love the smell and you get a good quantity for the price and the quality.

I believe I picked up this product in Walgreens, and it does contain Glycerin in it. Because of that I can't really use this product in my daughter's hair. My husband also started to complain that after a while it felt like this product dried his hair out. It may also be the silk protein. They are both kind of protein sensitive.

I have been using this product for a good month and a half now. I bought it at Target for a very reasonable price. With it I also got the style and hold milk and the curling souffle. This curl enhancing smoothie is thick and smells Amazing. I have seen a new sheen on my hair probably from the healthy oil all of these contain. At first i would run it though my hair with my fingers but i found this to break my curls. I mix a little bit of the Curl enhancing smoothie with the style milk or i'll mix it with just the curl souffle and scrunch. Scrunching in very damp hair made a huge difference. I have always had the problem where the back of my hair does not get defined but with this product It evenly distributes. I took it to Nicaragua and in the tropical and humid heat it worked just fine. Amazing product but dont just use one. Use 2 together. And your hair will smell amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely love this product! I use it daily along with another product for a curly fro! The only down side if I use to much the product is white but dries clear-so you can't just put this on and walk out the door! It works best on damp hair!

I didn't care for this. I tried it last winter, and I found it left my hair undefined, dry, and frizzy. I'd figure I'd give it another go in summer and that it might work better because I bought the Shea Moisture Retention Shampoo (which is GREAT!) but it still didn't work. I tried it as a leave-in/styler, and it was OK but left my kind of flat. As a rinse-out, it provided no moisture whatsoever. If I used too much, I'd be stringy and dry, and if I used too little, I'd be clumpy and dryer. It smells good, though. I'll stick to my beloved Darcy's Botanicals, though(:

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! I have 4b hair and I was going through my experimenting phase and started using this 2 months ago. It keeps my hair moisturized and my curls defined. It isn't greasy either, which is a plus. I trust the ingredients, I love seeing all the natural ingredients added in. The smell is sweet but it can be really strong if you use it excessively. Not to mention it is affordable, about $10 at target and it lasts for a long time. I love almost everything in the Shea Moisture Collection (products that I've tried so far) and I love that the prices are reasonable. In comparison to other popular products, such as Miss Jessie's, I feel you;'re getting the best for your hair for a better price! Love it!

Great product! I have 3c and I think it works even better with the eco styler olive oil gel. The two together leaves my hair soooo soft and curly. The gel doesn't make my hair hard or flakey...try using both..First add a little bit of the curl smoothie then add the gel all over..trust me its great and inexpensive.

If you have curls and want a little shin plus softness and moisture perfect product. If your like me I'm a dude who had 360 waves but this product is great. Also get the curl and shine shampoo this takes you from a little curly to super curly nothing is better that I've tried

I love this stuff! It doesn't clump my curls but it adds soo much moisture! The only thing is that it smells really good in the container ..and then you put it in your hair. For some reason in my hair it smells really ..i don't know how to describe it. It reminds of the old black hair care products you don't want your hair to smell like. But otherwise its great! I'll always have this on hand. Also, when I do my deep conditioner mixtures I add this and it makes my hair soo soft and wonderful.

When I first used this product I didn't like it at all. It didn't seem to absorb in my hair, however, recently I watched a tutorial where someone with similiar hair texture used it and decided to try it again. Boy am I glad I did. I realized that I have to use it on wet hair (fresh out of the shower). I even midst my hair again with water after use for better absorbency. After that I generally apply a little gel for hold and my curls and scrunch excess water out with a tshirt. I'm left with very moisturized and super soft curls.

This product worked amazingly for my hair. After washing it I applied the SheaMoisture and did a braid out, after taking the braids out the next morning my hair was SO soft! My curls/waves also lasted me that whole day. I'm now on day two and my hair is still very moisturized. I definately recommend this product!

This product is hit and miss for me. First thing I noticed when I opened the jar (other than the wonderful smell) was the creamy, silky looking texture of the product. It has great ingredients and works for me as a daily moisturizer, but it's a miss as a styler. Do I think it's worth checking out? Absolutely!!...as a moisturizer.

Love, love, love this product. Out of all the products I have tried my hair has responded the best to shea moisture. It leaves my hair soft and defined. Only thing is it does not last long and me being a college student, $10 is not something I just have laying around. If it wasn't for the cost I would buy it more often. It is the absolute best.

I love this stuff. I initially felt some kind of way about it so I tucked it away and pulled it out a couple of months later and wow, I just love it. It's a great leave-in, it softens my gel and it works great as a moisturizer (just a small amount). Just an overall great product.

My hair type is 4a and this was extremely moisturizing to my hair! I used it as a Attlee and did twists or braids and sealed it when my own oil mixture. Highly recommended!!!

This is 2nd time I've used this. First time I used it w/o my LaBella Lots of Curls gel, I definately NEED it with the gel. WIth the gel, it makes my hair stringly & droopy curls. I think it works better if Im touching it up to get a 3rd day curl if I'm too busy to do my hair. Otherwise, it does make my hair softer, but it doesn't give my curls definition. Just soft hair, droopy & stringy curls. So a 3 stars for softness.

First use of this product my hair felt amazing! I twisted and did bantu knots and it came out great the next day..but after using this product for awhile it started making my hair feel dry idk why it did so i just stopped using it and started using the curl and style milk which made my hair feel so much softer!

I have 2B hair and I tried some of the Shea Moisture products this morning. The Smoothie felt like it would have a really strong, almost crispy hold when I scooped out some product. However, after plunking and diffusing a little, it gave a really soft hold. So far, the curls have lasted today (6 hours). My hair doesn't feel sticky or greasy, however, if I touch my hair, my hands feel a little sticky/slick. Also, the product has a very heavy perfume scent that's starting to bother me. Overall, this worked great to give shine and hold to my 2B waves, no cruchiness, stickiness or greasy feeling. I've had tighter curl patterns from other products, but this works really well for me so far. The only downside right now is the strong scent ><

It defined my curls but left a greasy film on my hair. Not for me.

I have been using this for about three months and I love this product. Its inexpensive and works well with my curls. I definitely have to use a oil or pomade after application, because by the end of the day my hair is extremely dry if I dont. But this is a great buy.

I wish I had this at the start of my natural journey. I am willing to try different products, but I always come back. I don't like this product in the winter for wash n' go's, but now that spring is back, OH MY GOODNESS!!! This product does not provide hold, none! So, if that is what you want your curls to remain springy looking then this product is not for you. I love big hair and I am guessing because of the glycerin, when the dew points are high my hair swells and I love it. I get this big hair with so much movement and it so soft. If you don't like shrinkage, this is also not for you. My hair curly is about ear lobe length, but straight it almost armpit length, however, as the days go by because I can get 3 day hair with Shea, it gets longer. Again, if you are looking for that springy curly look you will not get this with Shea, it will start out that way, but as day warms and their is moisture in the air your hair will grow massive. Also the price is right and they are forever having BOGO's for the product.

This product was not great for me. There was not great slip and the curl definition was only OK. Second day hair was a straw like mess. It smelled nice and was cost effective if it had worked better.

The Curl Enhancing Smoothie is defintely a keeper! I am on my third jar of this product. It is one of those old faithfuls, I may try other moisturizers but I know that when I reach for this it will always do the job. It leaves my hair super soft to to the touch and moisturized. The more product I use the longer it will retain the moisture. Now I will say that if you're heavy handed like myself you shouldn't expect to be able to do some twists with this and then leave the house an hour or so later with a defined twist out. Its so moisturizing and thick it will give you super puffy cloudy hair. However, if you leave your twists in for a day or so you can definitely achieve great definition. The fact that this is only 9.99, on the ground and easily accessible at various retailers makes this a 5 Curl product for me.

still experimenting with different ways to use this but so far i am very impressed...what i found out so far is that it works best on damp (not wet!!) hair...i two-strand twist pieces of my hair and let it either air dry or blow dry it at a low setting...my curls stayed for almost 6 days and i only applied it one time!! it doesnt have incredible hold but somehow stayed curly for a long time, as well as the shine and the bounciness...im not a big fan of gels so this product left me very very VERY impressed...i will definetly stock up!

This is my first experience with Shea Moisture products and I was truly impressed by the results we achieved using the Curl Enhancing Smoothie! I used it immediately after washing and conditioning my 3b hair, as a leave in conditioner and detangler. My curls were nicely defined and my hair was soft, shiny, and beautifully fragrant. It resisted humidity induced frizz and though I used no other product after applying the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, my 2nd day hair is gorgeous as well (in fact, if I didn't desperately need a hair cut, I'd be submitting pictures and/or a video review to show off)! We also used the product on my daughter's 4b hair and had great results with her as well. We are definitely fans and will continue to use this product and look forward to trying more items within the Shea Moisture brand.

Absolutely love this product. It worked well with my 4a hair. I think it works for some and for others...fail. I don't think someone should allow someone else outcome prevent them from trying it. it depends on what our hair likes. This product defined my curls and they actually stayed for 3 days! I love the smell and the outcome. It doesn't add a lot of shine, but that's what my EVOO is for! Great, worth trying!

This product didn't do much for me. Smells great and works better on my daughters hair than my own. I'm not going to give up just yet. I won't use it for twist outs anymore but maybe as a one of my daily mositurizers.

Compared to other products this is nothing. I think it may be too thick and not much slip either. As I am learning more about my hair and what works. I now see how much Shea moisture isn't really doing anything for me, I used to use this stuff a lot and used to think this was the best, but now I'm stepping away from Shea moisture.

This didn't work for my hair. It weighed my curls down and made them stringy. It did nothing for my frizz and it left my hair looking dirty as well as feeling greasy.

The smell is phenomenal to me. Very light and fresh and though it adds a bit to my hair to help with styling, I don't fel it really maintains moisture and I certainly don't see shine. I will use the remainder of what I have but will not purchase this again.

Meijers use to sell the Shea Moisture line and when they began discontinuing the line all of the Shea moisture products were 30% off. I stocked up. Highly recommend

I finally caught this product on sale online at Target, so I bought two for the price of one. It smells great, very thick and creamy, it is not good for detangling but is great for deep conditioning, it made my hair very soft.

I absolutely hated this product when I first tried it. It seemed to do nothing to bring out any moisturized curls whatsoever. However, being a newbie, I began to work it into my regimen in a different way and now I love it. I don't use this on wash day at all, I instead use a leave in then shea butter and twist my hair. The next day, after my hair is dry, I apply just a bit to the hair, especially the ends, when re-twisting, and it works MUCH better. From there, I add a little to re-moisturize my ends about 15-20 prior to taking my twists out for my 'twist-out' and it works great! At first this didn't do much for me... softening but no control or anything when used as a styler. on a whim i used it for regular conditioner and my hair is super soft, although third, sometimes even second day hair is a bit sticky at the scalp. i still will use it under a mousse/hairspray as a leave in conditioner as well. makes my 2c slightly stringy waves bigger and fluffier. good product, but probably wont buy again, especially considering the price.

Okay product....it was too heavy in my hair even using a tiny amount. It really does define my curls but by the time it's dry, which is longer with this product(about 6 hours with this in), my hair is sticky to the touch and I can't manipulate it to get rid of this weird crunch thing that's not really a crunch. It's like a super super strong hold that scrunching won't get rid of. But it does smell great and moisturizes, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to use this product...

This product is okay. A decent moisturizer for the cost. Good for afro puffs, not for twist outs.

Works for me used as a leave-in on damp hair under a gel (I used Donna Marie Miracurl Jelly and it must be sealed with an oil), used on dry/lighly spritzed hair as a styler/refresher and as a prepoo. Awesome results with each of these - clumping, moisture and shine. The day I plan on shampooing I style my hair with this as my prepoo & styler for the day. I have fine, 4a, low porosity hair.

I must say at first I HATED this product. But when I used a dime sized amount by itself it had absolutely no hold. I guess it's because it's just a moisturizer. But when I tried a dime size amount with Shea moisture's curling soufflé I was in love! They work so well together. I might not buy the curl enhancing smoothie after this one is finished but I'm going to live it up until its gone !

smells delicious, but it's too thick for my fine 4a strands. My hair still feels dry after using it

My hair felt heavy, dry, and greasy. I have no clue how a product can make your hair feel greasy, but still dry. I have mostly 3c hair with 4a in the back and 4b around my front edges. I also think my hair might have low porosity. I hope this helps you in deciding whether or not this product will work for your hair. ...i notice coconut oil does nothing for my hair, so I wonder if that could play a part too.

I love this product. i use on my wet and/or dry 3b hair then i apply gel. and my hair looks great.

I really, REALLY love what this product did for my hair. However... the scent was simply too strong. I have multiple chemical sensitivities and difficulties with strongly scented products. While it is wonderful for my hair, it gave me terrible headaches that kept me awake at night. I was so sad to have to give it up to my very curly sister who will hopefully like it as much as I did. I wish this came unscented- I would buy it in bulk!

Product did nothing for my 4b/4c thick, coarse hair. It made it feel like straw whenever I put it on damp hair. It felt too greasy when I put a dime sized amount on dry hair. I've tried so hard to want to like this product because of the ingredients and how cheap it was, but I'm gonna have to let this one go.

This product worked well when I was styling my hair while wet. However, I found myself having to apply it every night to get the same results. This cream based product is a bit greasy and builds up easily. It does live your hair moisturized and defines curls, but you have to keep applying it which weighs your hair down. It also makes my hair feel dirty and had a tendency to leave white balls.

I love this stuff. I was hesitant at first to try it because I thought the butters would weigh my hair down and make it feel greasy. However, after using it, my hair was wonderful. It felt really soft and helped create wonderful curls. I used it in conjunction with CK and LA Looks Sport Gel. It comes in a huge container and I only had to use a little bit. My hair goes just below my shoulders when wet. I would recommend this to any 3B gals looking for better curl formation and softer locks. The price at Walgreens was right too at $9.99.

Let me start off my saying that this was my first attempt at any natural hair product. So maybe I just don't know what I'm doing. However, I washed and conditioned my hair then added the custard while my hair was very wet. I twist my hair and let it air dry. This did nothing for me! I would use it for a conditioner because it left my hair soft. However, it did nothing for my curls

I'm a huge fan of all of the products in this line. The curl enhancing smoothie is wonderful. A little bit goes a long way to keep your curls and coils moist and bouncy. I don't reapply everyday because, as worth any product it will build up. Just spritz a little water on the hair and restyle. I highly recommend this product, you get great results for a great price.

Awesome product. Love the smell and it doesn't take a ton to really get defined curls. I'm at an awkward stage and this is great. I am also slowly venturing into the all natural, homemade products. So I'll keep you posted there

I am a big fan of this product. It smells heavenly and it added a ton of moisture to my hair. it defined my curls better than any other product I have tried thus far. My twist outs look yhe best when I use this product.

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I have to admitt i have been an avid fan of everything DEVA curl for the past 4 years, but it was getting way to exspensive. Gel makes my hair take forever to dry and weighs it down so i dont have much definition to my hair. I wanted to try something that would give me definition all day withouth weighing it down and this is it! i have 3A type curls and this works perfectly! my hair is not greasy so i am able to use it twoards my roots. I just take a little at a time and really rub it between my hairs and make sure i get all my hair and scrunch and i kidd you not it takes my hair 20 minutes to dry! I LOVE THIS!

This product claims to minimize frizz, define curls, and add moisture. I was so excited for this--but it didn't do any of that. It actually made my hair more frizzy, weighed down the curls, and made it dry. I was so disappointed...maybe it's because it's winter? I just bought the Deep Treatment Masque and am going to use that as a leave-in. It gets two curls for smelling soooo amazing :)

I LOVE this stuff! I can use it in a bunch of different ways. My favorite way to use it is to mix a little bit of the smoothie and a little bit of SM curling souffle. I get soft, defined curls by doing that! It's also good for SOTC, and to be used on second day hair to lay down some frizz. Plus, it smells AMAZING and last FOEVER. I've had it about 2 months and have barely made a dent in the jar. Love it!

Pretty much one of my favorite leave-ins! I love that its super thick and you dont have to use a lot of it, and its super moisturizing - seriously my hair feels soo soft after using this stuff. The only thing is that it takes my hair REALLY long to dry...but that may or may not be due to this product Lol.

My curls are a mixture of 3 b and 3 c, with most of th 3 b's at the crown of my head. After spending tons of money not to mention time on buying hair products. The shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie worked GREAT!! I love the tropical smell and the moisturizing properties it has. My hair was moisturized without being greasy. I have also tried the shea moisture hair milk. That is one of my staples! Great product.

I'm giving this product 4 curls because as much as I love the smell, it's a little stronger than I would like my hair to smell. I do love it for making my hair softer though. I use this product after a wash and condition as a pre blowdrying solution, and it did a good job.

I love this. I found it for 9.99 at Walgreen's, so I love the price. I love the smell. It smells as if I could eat it and the smell doesn't give me any problems, though I usually have sensitivities to fragrances. I also love how my hair looks and feels when I use it. I just mush it in to my wet hair after it is past the dripping wet stage. I first put in Motions triple action leave-in conditioner (and sometimes one of the Garnier Fructis silicone free conditioner or the Dollar General equivalent). It works wonderful on my 4b hair.

I was a little skeptical because it's recommended for types 3-4, and I'm a 2c, but it gave me exactly the moisture it needed. My hair was increasingly so dry that my curls were going limp no matter what I did, and I was getting so frustrated because nothing I tried seemed to be working. This brought life back to my waves, I'll definitely be using this all fall/winter. I am so glad I bought this!

i'mm transitioning with fine 3c 4a 4b curls and this is a great product! i use it as a styler over my cantu shea butter leave in, then i style my hair, i use this product mostly with twist outs and bantu twist outs, i would think this would give me awesome definition, but it didnt :( but i did get SOME shine but it gave me the big curly look i love to have! i would recomend u all geting this product!

Let me start of by saying that this stuff smells really really yummy. It reminds me of Jujubes! The product in no way helps define my curls but it does provide nice sheen and a slight hold for twist-outs and braid-outs. Also I would not consider this product a moisturized but it is an excellent sealant and does keep my hair soft. So why the 3 star rating. Well I feel the product is good but slightly mis-advertised and most importantly it gives me crazy build up on day one. Its texture and consistency makes it a great product for twisting but it leaves my strands coated and flaking and i can't stand it. I can only use it right before I wash or I am left with hair covered in buildup! I will definitely finish the one I have but I doubt I will rebuy!

When my hair was shorter (about 1-2 inches) it gave me definition and moisture. But now that my hair is getting longer it doesn't seem to define them. But I will say it does provide great moisture to my 3c curls. It also it smells great.

Right now, I love this product and can't find any faults with it. I'm currently transitioning from relaxed to natural hair and I feel that this gives my hair perfect amount of moisture and of course I'm in love with the scent, as is everyone else who tries it. I legit have had to hide it from my mom, sister and even my brother!

Oh my goodness, this is where it's at. Never fails to make my hair look perfect. I will never be without it again.

Have been using this product for a week by itself as was and go and so far LOVING IT. I have 4b low porosity hair and usually just end up with a poofy mess after putting in product and my hair finally air dries. BUT this has made my hair more defined and moisturized than it has ever been just simply finger combing it through my hair after wetting and giving a bit of a scrunch. At the end of the day my hair is soft and not crunchy or dry. Only drawback is my hair doesn't absorb most products well so as it dries(roughly 1 1/2 hours) my hair is white in sections.

I'll give this a 3 because of the lovely smell, but after reading the many wonderful reviews and watching YouTube videos of people praising this product, I was really excited the give this a try. Imagine to my surprise when I applied this to my hair, it didn't do anything. So after watching a YouTube video of a woman using this product along with a alcohol-free gel to get her hair curly, I decided to try the same. While that method worked, I didn't like mixing 2 products just to make my hair curly. I wouldn't buy this product again.

This is definitely one of my staple products! Sometimes I try other products to see if they match up but really you can't beat that its all natural...especially for the price. Plus it smells great. Works amazingly in my long thick 3c hair. Works great with ecostyler gel for days I want more definition and hold.

This is a great product but when using alone my curls had no definition. I use ag-recoil with it and my hair comes out amazing and stays perfect the second day.

NOT a fan. Bought due to all of the rave comments, and was very excited to use, but this did nothing for my 3b hair. I love that it's all natural, but that's the best thing about this in my opinion. It does not smell like hibiscus or coconut, it just smells sweet... almost like candy, which was disappointing to me. I tried this smoothie each day over the course of one week, and tried using different amounts and methods of application...no success. I tried using it as the first step on wet hair, small amount and then a larger amount, with and without a gel second step. I tried mixing it in my hands with water and raking through soaking wet hair. I tried mixing it with my leave in. I tried scrunching it in after applying my gel. No matter what I tried I had the same result... big, frizzy hair that felt weighed down. I did not get more curl definition and my hair did not feel softer. VERY disappointed in this product.

This smoothie has a nice scent and nice ingredients. I tried it on wet and dry hair for twisting and re-twisting at night on my 4a/3c and my daughter's 4b hair. Our hair felt moisturized after initial application but the following day would feel a bit dry with no hold whatsoever.

I really did enjoy using this product on dry hair only. It is very moisturizing, However, my hair felt best when when I used this product on dry hair. I would apply it to dry hair, finger comb it in gently, and then put my hair in about 10 big twists. After letting the hair set overnight, I was left with moisturized, soft, stretched hair. The next day, the hair does feel a little dry, which is why it gets 4 stars for me. That is remedied by adding a little extra product of a spray of glycerin water to the hair when I retwist that night. Also I did not like using this product to wet twist set my hair. When my twist dried, the hair did not feel moisturized which I did not like about this product.

I picked this up last night at Walgreens and I have to say after one use I am seriously impressed. I not only love the smell, I also love how it makes my hair feel. My curls are super soft and it looks thoroughly hydrated. I would imagine this is because of all the natural ingredients it has as opposed to another ridiculously high priced cream I was using. I would definitely by this by the case if I could.

I have a mixture between 3c and 4a hair. I read the other reviews and was really looking forward to the results of this product. Oh was I disappointed...It left my hair feeling so dry and hard. I thought it would have helped with the frizz, but believe it or not, it made it worse! I thought I may have put too much or too little, so I tried the product 3 more times in 2 months, and same results. My hair just didn't take a liking to it. The smell is awesome though!

Love love love! I have used this product in a few ways since I got it, and it makes happy every time! I first used underneath gel on damp hair as a curl creme and got fabulous definition, I then used on second day dry hair and had curls that were revived and soft (still some frizz - but I haven't found a second day product/technique that doesn't have any, and this had much less than other products) and just tonight I put it on very wet hair with nothing else and have bouncy, shiny, springy ringlets that smell *incredible*! This seems to be highly recommended for much tighter curl patterns than I have, but I love it! Its also not too heavy for my fine hair, and seems to have the perfect balance of protein and moisture for me.

I love it. This is one of my favorite products, I've been using it for a few months now, all I use is this and castor oil. I've even used the curl smoothie when blowdrying my hair straight, keeps it smooth and moisturizer-frizz free-lasts straight for up to 3 days.

This was the first shea moisture product that I have ever tried, but I have to say I really enjoyed this product! When I used it for the first time while doing a "braid/twist out" (I know what was I thinking) it came out ok. I didn't like the way the style came out but what did I expect I did a braid/twist out. So then when a parted my hair into smaller sections and used the smoothie my hair came out looking funky and so cute! Many eyes were on me and even someone said I looked older which is kinda a compliment since I'm only a teen.When I was at walgreens with my mom in the haircare section of course some older man walled by and looked directly at me and then looked immediately in amazement and then said hi to me with a grin and excitement to his face! And from that I knew it was my curls that made me looked even more beautiful as an African American young lady! But soon after that I met back up with my mon because I didn't want some older man trying to hit on me! lolXp My curls were shiny and defined. I personally liked the second day hair better but after the second day my hair become very frizzy so I had to wash it. But yeah I really liked this product! For sure I'm buying more Shea moisture and will come back to review this product again since I'm a noob when it comes to taking care my natural hair and styling!

My best girl friends recommended this product line after I did the BC in November and I must say that I love it! I recently did my two strand twists with Shea Moisture and some mango butter and my curls are soooo soft! I can't keep my hands out of my hair! The price is marvelous! I use the Smoothie along with the Shampoo (curl enhancing one) and I am in love. I will never twist again without my Shea Moisture Smoothie!!! =)

I never knew what my hair loved, until I tried Shea Moisture's line. All natural ingredients and it delivers. This Smoothie works great on my wet or damp hair. I did not like too much on my dry hair (I use the Curl Milk for that). This Smoothie provides shine, moisture, light-med hold, while produces soft touchable curls. You will not get a crunchy feeling from using this. The smell is yummy, the packaging is simple, yet intriguing. I would recommend this over and over again. I heart Shea Moisture. This gets 5 curls b/c it is inexpensive and delivers! I use it as a leave in moisturizer after washing and a daily moisturizer. I tried making my own shea mixes but i prefer just to use this. It is not good for hold for my styles but to MOISTURIZE before i style

I absolutely love this stuff. I have used in a variety of ways as a deep treatment, mixed with the curl milk as a rinse out, as a leave in, and on 2nd day hair. It keeps my porous hair from drying out, provides great clumping, and smells fantastic! My hair is normal/fine and can get weighed down, but I have had no problems with this weighing me down, unless I use just way too much.

I love this products its the best i have 3b curls and its just so fantastic. i can even find it at walgreens which is a big plus because i have one walking distance from where i live so thats 2 curls. the other 3 are for how good it smells and how well it works. its organic as well i love that. its so soft and has enough texture that it can hold my hair with a little bit of mousse. ive been looking for a product that i can use as a base. not to expensive and smells great. miss jessies curling pudding is wayy out of my budget. when i saw this i knew it was a keeper .this has it all. all natural , moisturizes, smells good, and cheap. i couldnt believe it was only $10. wow. it leaves my hair soft and bouncy and curls defined. i will deff go back and try out the other products in this line. and ive gotten sooo many complements on my hair everytime i use it.

My hair seems to love all of the ingredients in this one , for my hair is very defined and moisturized after using this on top of Kinky Curly Knot Today OR any other good leave in . I have 4B/4C hair so it's super hard for me to get curl and keep moisture. I thought i was in heaven when I found an all natural product for my hair. This product should really cost at least double the money if you made a 12 oz jar with the ingredients they have. The price alone is worth one star. I chose that mainly for moisture. I have a kinky twa that about three in. long so I don't have curls to elongate yet. I used the smoothie in conjunction with the deep treatment masque to do my twists. My twist out was amazing! I had soft defined curls. The best thing was that my hair actually got curlier as the day went on instead of just becoming frizzy. I just used this with coconut oil to seal my ends and i can rock a twist out for days with my hair getting dry. The only reason it gets four curls is because I don't really get curls with it if i just did a wash n go. Maybe if my hair was shorter or less thick, it would work perfectly.

This product is pretty good, the scent is divine. It does moisturize my hair but it doesn't do much for hold. I have to use in conjunction with a styler if I want my hair to be well defined.

I got this at Walgreens during their Buy One/Get One Free sale on Shea Moisture products. I've tried the Curl and Style Milk and other Shea Moisutre Productes and I just love them. So I thought I'd give this a shot and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. I'm not sure what ingredient caused it, but the product left my hair feeling dry immediantly after I applied it to soaking wet hair after a deep conditioner. It felt like it actually stripped m hair. My hair felt like straw and it even had a crunch to it (while still wet). I jumped right back into the shower and co-washed with Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner (did the trick!!). The reason why I gave this two curls is because I actually like the smell. Other than that, it just didn't do anyhting for my curls.

This product gave my 3b curls good definition without the crunch and I love the smell and the price! The reason why I'm awarding only 3 stars is because it did nothing to eliminate my "frizzy halo". Interested to test out the rest of the product line...

I just bought the smoothie at Walgreens yesterday for $10.00. That accessibility and cost is worth one star already. Now, the additional 4 stars are added because this product did exactly as it said and more for my 3B, heat damaged hair! I got shine, definition, softeness and love for my curls again. The damage I got from a salon flat ironing experience left my hair dry, frizzy and undefined. This magical product brought my curls back!

Great product! I have 2b/3b/3a curls and this product gives me great definition with ZERO crunch. I use it over the curl milk and it leaves my hair velvety soft and very defined. I found that this product works best for me if I wash at night (and apply curl milk or other leave-in), re-wet in the morning, and then apply the smoothie. You only need a small amount, so for the price this product is a downright steal!

I don't find this product very moisturizing. Milk does better for me. I started using it just on my ends to keep frizz down and it seems to work well like that.

Does for me just what it says it'll do. Enhances and defines and I love it a lot! So far only used it over the milk, but looking forward to trying with other leave ins or by itself of as a dc/rinse out. Seems it could be versatile.

4/a. It just didn't work for me. It did not define my curls. I love the smell and my hair was soft the first day. The 2nd day my hair was a crunchy mess and i only used a quarter size before i twisted for a twist out. I also used this on my daughter's 4c hair and it left a film. I could have used too much on her hair.

i cant' really decide if i like this...it doesn't really define my curls. i think i have 3c hair.. the product smells great, but doesn't really work for me :( using it by itself doesn't do anything, but it might work with a good gel. it was only $9.99 at Target, so i'll keep trying it out, maybe it'll start working for me.

Let me start by saying that I'm a tough critic. I have combination 2b/3a/3b hair. Yeah, it's a little crazy. Anyway, I expect a lot from my products and this one did not disappoint. At first, I was put off by the smell. Why do products for black hair tend to smell like synthetic pina colada or fruit salad? Given that I didn't spend much on the jar ($9.99 @ Target), I decided to go ahead and try it anyway and I was pleasantly surprised. The fragrance dies down within minutes and while your hair smells slightly sweet/slightly shea-like, it's a light fragrance. I love that it's thick without being weighty and it moisturizes without being greasy...at all! That's a huge plus for me. It's easy to rinse out and my hair doesn't feel all "producty" after a few days of use. I also use it on my pre-schooler's incredibly curly hair. I'm particular about the products I use on her hair, but I really like this one and feel like it's clean enough and pure enough to use on her hair everyday. Run, don't walk and stock up because Target sucks at keeping it in stock. Just bought two and put them in reserve. Oh, and combining this with TIGI's Catwalk Curls Rock Curl Amplifier did the trick. Great hold, definition, shiny. With this combo, I can sometimes get 3rd day hair, 4th day if you count a messy bun.

I have very thick, spiral curled hair (3c-4a). My HG is KCCC, but I'm always looking for something better. This creme is pretty good! It has a thick consistency and is white. I always us KC Knot Today as a leave-in which keeps my hair moisturized, but this smoothie took it to the next level in softness. My curls looked and felt very soft and it left my hair defined and not looking like a cloud. It loses a star because to keep this affect I have to reapply it --the softness remained, the definition did not. Got it at Target for $10 so is def a keeper.

SheaMoisture's Curl Enhancing Smoothie is a staple in my regimen. I like the thick consistency of the product. And even though the consistency is thick the product feels very light-weight. It leaves your hair feeling soft, shiny, and it smells good.

I personally don't LOVE it for myself but it works well on my girls. For me I've had the most success using it on dry hair and working it through as I'm untwisting. I just didn't like the way it felt going on with wet/damp hair. Plus side, my hair does seem a little softer and I can use this without using a gel. It is fine but just not the WOW I was expecting from the product. I do love the smell though and again will use it because I don't need to use a gel behind it and it's good for my girls.

This product came after many attempts at gaining a moisturizer. I love this product. What a relief! I love the smell, the application & the end result. The only issue is you have to rub it in completely for you to see the beautiful effects of it all.

I am a type 4 with coils and I love this product! Even though it doesn't define and hold my curls (like a gel would for type 4) it is great for my twist outs. It smells great, it's organic and it moisturizes well! It has benefits for any hair type!

3a/b/c curls The image is not of the exact product, however I love SheaMOisture coconut & hibiscux curl enhancing smoothie! I've layered it with other leave ins and used it as a styler instead of a moisturizer...it really works for me! I was very suprised that it had any hold because it has no crunch or anything...I find that it works best on Damp Hair...wet hair is great also but took alil while to dry and I kept waiting for it to poof, but if didnt..=) I wouldnt use it on dry hair cuz the scent lingers too long and was irritating...however if your hair is damp the still soaks up the smoothie and the scent goes away after a while...really one of the best products i've used that didnt need a gel/mousse/spray,etc. Looking forward to tring the rest of the product line=)

I love this product.. Gives great definition, shine, moisture, and bounce to my mixture of curls which is 3a/3b/3c. My hair is more of a coarse texture, so my hair soaked up this stuff like a sponge. It smelled good, but it didn't give my hair much moisture. My curls were not defined, but they definitely were soft! I had more of a poofy curl rather than a defined curl, not my kinda stuff. ...on to the next one!

This product was VERY heavy on my 3c curls...The only thing good about it, was he smell.. I'd rather use gel on my hair. I wanted to love this product. Maybe its a winter product.

This does little for my 4a curls. With this smoothie my hair is stringy, frizzy, and my curls are NOT defined. I went to the Shea Moisture website & they said this can also be used as a deep conditioner. I will use it as such until the jar is empty and will not purchase again. Yes my hair does feel is soft and is moisturized, but for my hair this product is a no-go. (BTW, the hair milk in this same line is awesome!)
