SheaMoisture African Black Soap Balancing Conditioner balances, conditions and detangles hair, while relieving itching, flaking Read More...
This conditioner does what it says but it doesn't really moisturize at all. It's best used as a light conditioner for the scalp only. Use something richer for the body of your hair in my opinion.
This product is heavier than the Devacurl One Conditioner I use regularly as a rinse-out, but it works all right as an alternative or even as a leave-in pending the weather conditions. I actually find this product to be better as a rinse-out though, especially if you use the Squish-to-Condish method so you are not completely rinsing it out. It's a really nice product with a natural smell (not perfume-y) and it's gentle and safe if you end up getting it on your scalp (it will actually help with the dandruff, the itch, and the dermatitis). I use the African Black Soap shampoo followed with this conditioner when my scalp gets especially itchy and needs clarifying followed with a moderate (but not deep) conditioner.
I use this product as a leave-in. The masque for this line was a bit of a bust for me, but I adore this product. The smell is overwhelming, it doesn't provide much slip for my hair, but it provides great moisture. I combine with coconut oil and the curl enhancing smoothie and my hair retains moisture for days.
I use this product as a leave in since it is very light and my hair does not like heavy products. It was very good with moisture...sort of it wasn't anything special so it's not a holy grail worthy product but for those who have finer strands I would advise them to use this conditioner
I had horribly itchy, flakey and burning scalp a few days ago, plus crazy hair loss. Eeek! I had been using Elucence Clarifying Shampoo alternating with Elucence Moisture Shampoo and my scalp HAD ENOUGH. At the time I was desperate for relief and had some tea tree oil on hand so I rubbed that on my scalp and let it sit overnight. Then I bought this stuff--just the conditioner and not the shampoo or scalp spray (I bought the Hibiscus Smooth & Shine poo). I used it as a pre-poo and rinse-out and it's really helping! A conditioner you can put on your scalp is GENIUS! For so long I have been careful not to get conditioner on my scalp because of what I've read online and the result has been dry scalp and frizzy, parched roots. Hopefully with this line the war between the north and the south has ended and their will be peace on my head. :) Bonus: I am in love with the scent and really want to try the hair & scalp mask in the same line! (I'm 3B)
NO. I used this as a rinse out. It softened my hair but I had quite few single strand knots after using this. It was also shedding like crazy. I originally purchased it for cowashing, so I tried that first but I stopped when my hair was shedding in the shower. Kicking myself for not keeping the receipt with this one.
I was looking for a product that was better for curly hair than what I was using, but still worked effectively on "dandruff, eczema, and psoriasis". This conditioner claims to, and lives up to that claim. I would recommend this to anyone who has curly hair, and the above mentioned scalp conditions.
I absolutely love this conditioner. I first bought it for my husband with the shampoo because he has an itchy, dry, flaky scalp; he likes the shampoo and conditioner, as it balances out his scalp and reduces the itching and flaking. Since we had it on hand I started using it myself - I tried it as a pre-poo and I liked it all right, but I wanted a more intense moisturizing for a pre-poo (so I switched to the Purification Masque, which I love so far). Now I use it as a rinse-out conditioner because my favored line, Coconut & Hibiscus, doesn't have one. I really like it as a rinse-out. It gives so much slip, makes detangling easy, and it makes my hair soft and touchable. Plus it smells really good - some people don't like the plantain smell but I love it.
LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! The smell is sweet but not over powering. I don't even have to use much of this conditioner a shallow palm full covers all my hair. I let it sit in my hair while I wash up detangling is a breeze. It has better slip than TRESemme Naturals and that use to be my go to conditioner. Not anymore. This is currently on sale at my local target and I shall be stocking up on this conditioner.
Shea Moisture's BEST conditioner!!! It does exactly what the African black soap purification mask does (amazing slip, defines curls, provides moisture, ect.) but it can be left in! It's also great as a pre-poo with coconut oil! I love it!
I gave the partner shampoo three curls also. I wasn't blown away by this product but I did like the smell.
I love this product as a pre-poo. Detangling was simple and it left my hair moisturized. It also cured my itchy scalp (I used it w the shampoo). After I rinsed the conditioner, I shampooed just my scalp and had a happy wash n go.
I know this product is marketed for dry itchy scalp and I dont have a problem with that, but I still love this product. A friend actually recommended it to me after my fail with trying sheamoisture raw shea deep conditioning, and I have to say that I really love this product. I dont use it every time I condition but when i do use it, I love it, I also throw it in my deep conditioner and leave in conditioner. I Although thinking about it, I am transitioning and I have tended to get a itchy feeling in my scalp, but since I've started using this product, I don't notice it again. Will have to look out for that to be sure. I also love the smell.
Very moisturizing and the smell is amazing. The amount that comes in the bottle for the price it great also. It's one of my staple products for my hair care regimen.
I really wanted to like this conditioner however it made my itchy/dry scalp worse. My scalp would feel irritated and itchy after use even though my hair felt very moisturized.
I use this as a pre-poo and it definitely helps keep the tangles down so shampooing isn't such a hassle.. The only down side is the smell is horrible!!!
Hey ladies, This product is excellent for those with dry scalp. It conditions your hair very well and seals in moisture. The product is 100% naturall and works very well with your hair. I love this product because it seals and moisture and keeps my scalp clean. I'm definitely going to continue using this product!!!
