This was just ok for me, my hair felt a little dry and stripped after use. I've used more moisturizing cleansing conditioners in the past.

I only got to use this once, before it vanished from my bathroom. It was a bit too stripping for me, but I did like it. I would have tried it again, had it not mysteriously disappeared, along with its matching conditioner and styling lotion. Turns out my 13 year old son, who is suddenly worried about his looks, is being driven crazy by his curly hair. He has a problem getting it under control (shocking, right?); especially the areas he tries to "style". He needs weight and hold, and he's liking this cleanser and the rinse-out/leave-in conditioner from this line. The cleanser is good for his teenage oils, but not too rough for his naturally dry hair. I think Design Essentials dark bottles and unisex fragrances appeal to him. It's been a bit hard to find a "curly" product that doesn't look or smell too "girly"for his adolescent manliness. My oldest son just lets his hair "be wild and free", (he's in college now, so "wild" is en vogue),so he can't help his younger brother when it comes to styling, and my husband has completely, totally straight, fine hair. Before our three kids and me, he couldn't even imagine how crazy hair can be. (Now he tells me the dew point when he looks up the weather report in the mornings.) I am very happy to have found the Design Essentials line, because it's really helping my son with his hair (which will be great hair, some day).

This is a nice cleanser. It's not stripping. The smell is not strong but its nice. It's a thick shampoo, I like that about it.
