Ironically, I usually warn clients that this is a really drying conditioner. I often have to convince them to try Self Absorbed conditioner to reassure them that Bedhead is good line after trying it.

Severely dried out hair.I mentioned this at the salon/store I buy at and the girl said the name is actually misleading.At a class for this product held by the reps and she was informed that"moisture maniac"was intended to dry/calm down hair for people with too much moisture (oily) hair.

Passable, but not worth the price. Stick with Finesse if you're desperate.

I purchased this shampoo along with the Moisture Maniac Conditioner due to the reccomendations here at naturallycurly.com.... and this was a BIG mistake. I can't believe that so many people think this is good shampoo, when all it did was make my hair dried out and frizzy! If you want something that smells good, go buy some perfume... what *I* wanted was a clue on how to tame my hair, and this shampoo just made it worse. Shame on you people! I wasted WAY too much money on this stuff!

Here is the ingredient list for this shampoo: Water, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Ethanol, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycol Stearate, Polyquaternium-10, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Tetrasodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin, Isostearoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen, Panthenol, D&C Yellow No. 6, D&C Brown No. 1, D&C Red No. 33, Fragrance. It doesn't have SLS, but it does have ethanol, which is a very drying alcohol. This shampoo might feel like it's not stripping your hair the first time you use it, but over time the alcohol will dry out your hair, which explains some of the reviews. Ethanol, denatured alcohol, ethyl alcohol, methanol, benzyl alcohol, isopropyl, and SD alcohol are all drying and should be avoided.
