Really wanted to like this, but alas, no go. Too sticky and still frizzy, and not a curl on my head.

Using the CG method made me realize that I'm in control of my hair in ways I never thought possible. After my hair became accustomed to being free from sulfates and silicones, I began to see more curls, more shine, and more bounciness, and fullness than my hair has ever had. A huge and unfortunate thing I've learned for my hair is that my hair is highly susceptible to dew point effects. Particularly low dew points. The lower the dewpoint, the flatter and more mellow are my curls. Currently I live in an area where Optimal Curls is a common forecast, however, in a couple of months I'm moving to a place where dew points are almost always low, and air is very dry. Now that I've cultivated my curls, I've grown rather attached to them, and I style my hair based on my curls. When my curls don't respond, I feel kind of naked. I am trying to find products that will help my hair when I am consistenly in low dew points, and, so far, Curl Trigger is at the top of the list. I've tried Curl Trigger during more humid weather, with medium/high dew points, and I thought it was a sticky mess. However - when it's dry and my curls are limp, wetting them with Curl Trigger immediately makes them twist and become more defined. It dries to a soft crunch, but I'd rather have a little crunch than no curls. For extra hold and frizz control, I top Curl Trigger with a spray gel, and I'm pleased with the results. Most of the time I use a leave-in conditioner, and sometimes I use both a leave-in and the Re:coil cream on wet hair. I find both the Re:Coil cream and spray can be very drying, but using a leave-in helps a lot. I spray Curl Trigger on dry hair to get the most definition from it. It doesn't take all that long to dry, and it can be diffused with minimal frizz. I find the price to be outrageous, which is why I rated it a 4/5. $20.00 for 5 ounces is a lot for me, particularly because I need to use a lot for this to work. I haven't found another product that works quite like Curl Trigger, though, so if I'm going to want consistent curls, I guess I'm going to have to keep forking over the money. Most other sprays I've tried work as "re-activators" or moisturizers, and they bring out curls that have already formed. Curl Trigger has the ability to make my hair form into real curls even when it's been stifled by low dew points. Silicones, eve PEGS, still unnerve me, and there are a lot of silicones in this spray. I do notice build-up, but it seems to rinse off easily. If I used this spray every day, I would probably Low-Poo at least once a week...we'll see. For something so loaded with magnesium sulfate, this doesn't dull my hair or flake, which is impressive.

Left my hair a mess...dry, hard, fuzzy. I dumped it down the sink after trying it on both wet and dry hair. I like some AG products, but not this! I gave it two stars because they got the packaging right...the little trigger spray bottle is awesome and produces a nice misty spray rather than a stream. Love putting other stuff in it! :)

Not a staple product but I do like how it refreshes my hair the next day. My hair is 3c/4a.

Let me start by saying that I *LOVE* AG Cosmetics Curly Hair Products, so I really wanted to love Curl Trigger. What I didn't understand at first was what "beachy" curls meant. When I applied it under my other products, it didn't seem to encourage any curl at all on the top of my head (it's only 2B or 2C there and 3B/3C on the rest!). When I reapplied it the next day over the previous day's product, it REALLY made my 2B/2C curls curlier, BUT it made it VERY DRY and using it on top of the other products made it VERY crunchy, to the point where I couldn't shake it out. So, now I know that "beachy" means that it will make your hair feel like you have salt water in it, meaning it will feel dry and a little unmanageable. This product is definitely NOT for managing frizz. So, I'm still in search of something to get the curls on top of my head to curl - at least better than they do now.

This product is great for enhancing curls, and its super easy to use. However, in humid climates it cannot be used alone. It does not prevent frizz very well so you have to use a serum with it. But overall, it's great!

I am getting great results from this product. It really helps take my waves to full on curls. It has great hold for the day and I love that I can get 2nd day hair out of it. I prefer a stronger curl hold and a bit of crunch so this product works excellent for my type 2c curls and after styling and diffusing i look more like a 3a. YEP. it works for me.
