Heat-activated European Wheat Protein has a shielding effect on hair that breathes with the humidity, protecting the hair shaft and preventing hair from expanding. Amino Acids and Vitamin A nourish and hydrate hair, leaving it soft, manageable and full of shine. Water soluble to leave no build-up. Excellent at protecting hair from blow-dryer heat when a straight style is required. Whether you're heading out on a hot, humid day or prepping for a night out, Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel by Ouidad blocks out the excess humidity that creates the frizz and flyaways that can shorten the life of your look. Even the most unruly curls are left calm, cool, and collected with a style that will last until you decide to change it.

Did absolutely nothing for my hair and I've tried it several times. It did NOT help with humidity, had a very light to no hold, still had frizz galore. There are tons of other products that work much better, and at a much lesser price. Will not repurchase.

This product it great at controlling flyways and the frizzies. I find the best results when I mix a drizzle of it with a curly hair mousse, like the whipped cream like one from Dove. Works great for winter climate and summer!

I really liked this products results, especially in terms of definition, my hair was soft, curls softer and wider and shiny. Still, there is ONE BIG CON: It leaves a flaky powder in my hair, so I would be enthusiastic about trying some other product that achieves similar results and no flakiness, as this is quite too expensive to leave cheap gel residues at the base of my hair.

I am a regular user of curl creams for my dry, 3a/b hair. I don't like the crunchy, sticky feel of most hair gels, and they usually cause flakes and frizz. I had a sample of Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel, and, for kicks, I gave it a try on a day when I felt my hair was hopeless. I couldn't believe the results; particularly in the area of definition. Note - I still always use leave-in conditioner and/or curl cream, but I add this gel to the mix to eliminate all poofs and provide hold. This serum-like product is completely non-sticky, and it disappears into my hair. It provides natural curl definition without a hint a frizz. I still cannot believe what this "gel" can do. There is no stickiness, crunch, or clumping! Lately, my "secret" is to use a bit of this gel with Ouidad Hydrafusion Curl Cream. Wow! Even in the driest of dry weather my hair is soft and bouncy. Another huge plus for me is that this does not have the allergic-reaction-inducing spicy-perfumey fragrance of other Ouidad gels. It has a mild, soapy scent that does not project from my hair. I never thought I could regularly use a hair gel, but I am truly impressed with this one. Strangely, I am using it for the opposite of "humidity", as the dew points have been quite low here in the desert. Even with all the wheat protein, this keeps my hair from frizzing, and it holds the curl. I can refresh this easily with water and a bit more gel.

It doesn't control the frizz at my crown area (my review is against a diffuser, not from going outside), which is why I purchased the product. And it gives me horrid crunchy curls. I did not use a lot, maybe a dime to a dime and a half on each section of hair. I applied the gel over conditioner, oil (sealant), and Ouidad's Hyrafusion creme and I still got the crunchies. This is not a product for me. I'm sad because I really wanted it to work.

This product did nothing for my hair, maybe because at the time I didn't know what I was doing. I orginally had 5 bottles of this product and I only have 1 left, not because I used the other 4 but because they all disappeared, seriously I have no idea what happened to them lol nor do I care. I bought this product about 1 1/2 years ago. The one bottle I have left I haven't touched, I'm thinking it would be beneficial to a wash and go. This product is obviously not for organic users (see ingredients). Oh! but I did use it when I use or blow dry my hair... left it kind of stiff....

This definitely works to protect your hair from humidity, but I can't seem to shake the overly-gelled/Jericurled look. It seems to break up my clumps into tiny, Silly String-like pieces and my hair looks dark and wet all day. I did have some luck in the past when I strictly controlled how much I put on (only a nickel size for half my head).

I have waveyish curls, and this made them kind of stiff and straightened them out a bit. Make sure not to put in too much or it'll feel gross. It did take away my frizz, but I don't like how my hair looked after using this.

I have fine fractal/kinky-coily/Type 4a hair. It's also low-ish porosity. First off I need to stay that I have purchased and returned this product on 2 separate occasions. That's how much of a learning curve I've had with it. But ultimately I did repurchase recently for the 3rd time and I don't plan on returning it this time. I finally figured out how to use it on my hair and now I really like it. For really dense/tight curls, you need to use a lot because it's a thinner gel. I also discovered that I needed my hair to be more on the damp side rather than really wet for best results b/c it's already pretty conditioning on its own. Once air-dried, there was some crunch/gel cast feeling but it scrunches out nicely with Oyin Sugar Berries, MOP shine, or any other pomade (haven't used the Ouidad one b/c of the price). It gives hold but not like the stiff kind. Also, I live in a very humid climate and my hair holds up nicely with this product in it, beyond the first day (at least 2 or 3). Despite the big learning curve in the beginning, I do see myself buying this again (though not in a liter size or anything b/c it's so expensive.)

I really wanted to like this gel but I just cant. Im not sure what the hype is because it does absolutely nothing for my hair. This is my 4th time using it and the frizz is outta control! I am mixed with black and white and my hair is a 3a and this stuff leaves my curls frizzer then ever! Less then 4 hours after a wash and I look like side show bob! I got the Ouidad cut about a month ago and my stylest used Tress Effects Gel and my hair looked AMAZING and the frizz was too a minimum, the only reason I didnt get it was because they were out. So idk why Climate Control doesnt work for me but I cant take it anymore I rather pay for another gel then to keep having bad hair days.

This product works wonders. If you are using the product correctly, your hair will look the best it ever has. Does your hair initially dry crunchy? Yes. But, I always pull my hair back in my hands like I'm making a ponytail and smooth my hair slightly to break up the crunchy curls. The crunch is gone and what's left is soft, manageable, beautifully held curls. It holds for days and you can easily wake up, refresh your curls, an get three good days out of one use. It is expensive, but if you're using it right, you should only have to use it twice a week instead of every day.

I have thick and abundant 3b curls and I don't think that the Ouidad line is really made for my type of hair :/ However! I do somewhat like this Climate Control Gel! :D I have a spray bottle I fill a little over 3/4 with icy cold water and then add a bit of the Climate Control, then spray it on and put my other products over it, I find that it helps tame the frizz a bit :D plus! it is expensive! so this also helps me ration it as well ^-^ it's the only way i'm willing to use it now, like I said too expensive, still not sure whether I'll purchase another bottle or not.

I'm a big fan. It does straighten out my hair a bit as advertised but it holds the curl really well. If you are more concerned about having definition this product is for you. I use the Ouidad leave in conditioner then this gel. It's great for next day wear if you use the Ouidad spray to freshen it up. Make sure you don't use too much because your hair will get crunchy.

My family bought me some Ouidad products for my birthday, and this was the first one that I used, and i LOVE it. If you follow the directions to a T and use the rake and shake method, your hair will look amazing. For the first time EVER, my hair lasted for a full day, from 10 in the morning to 11 at night; that has never happened to me before with my 3b curls. The only downside is that the curls tend to be crunchy, but i know from my salon experience that the pomade that Ouidad makes keeps the same hold but makes the hair soft. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I was very excited to try this free sample included in my last order, given the high ratings, but find that it only works *ok* on my fine 3A curls. Diffusing is a must, I would say, to avoid crunch. Even after diffusing, however, my hair still felt a little undefined and "frizzy". I think I will have to add a stronger curl-defining gel to get the ideal definition+humidity control.

This is the product I use every time I wash. I love the consistency of it (a cross between a lotion and a gel) that spreads nicely through my very thick hair. It helps frizz and leaves a nice shine. I actually wish it would be a little MORE crunchy than it is for more definition (I couldn't possibly put more in than I am), so it's not that crunchy if you have super-thick hair. I do think it's pretty expensive, but another good thing is that it "rejuvinates" the next day by adding a little water, so you don't have to wash every day! (which saves on the product too.)

I got this as a free sample in the mail, which is good because I think I would have felt more unsatisfied if I paid $18 for it. I do love that its a gel that didn't leave my hair crunchy, and let it move naturally (like in the wind! I love that! That's something my DevaCurl Angell didn't do for me). It worked better as a curl definer than a defrizzer. It defrizzed my smoothest 3b/3c curls, but didnt do so well on my less tame, frizziest parts of my hair. Therefore, I won't purchase the regular size for $18...maybe I'm better off w/ leave-in conditioners?? However, I could see this probably working much better for curly girls with smoother hair. Not so much for 4a/4b curls

I agree with reviewers that this product gets rid of frizz. What it doesn't do is define curls--my hair took longer to dry with this product and my curls were kind of stringy and crunchy. I think this product works best in combination with a thicker gel, like Curl Interrupted, by Brocato.

UPDATE. I'm upping my previous rating to 4 curls because I've discovered a way to get better curl formation. The OUIDAD website details the "rake 'n shake" method - previously I was "raking" the gel through my hair, but not grasping the ends of my hair and lightly "shaking" it afterward to release my hair's natural curl pattern. When I do this, I get much better results. Also, CC works best if I combine it with the botanical boost leave-in, and apply both of them in the morning and let air-dry (rather than sleeping on it wet). Another pleasant surprise: less hair loss over time using Ouidad's BB and CC than with other product lines.

Climate control definitely did away with the frizz, but it left my hair feeling crunchy and looking "wet" all day...two things I'm NOT trying to achieve. I have 2B/3A hair, and this is my #2 favorite product. Used in conjunction with botanical boost, it gives me really well-defined waves, with no crunch, no flakiness, and very little frizziness. I'm looking forward to trying it in the summer. I get the best results when I air-dry overnight rather than using a diffuser. However, it doesn't give me curls--only waves--and the waves partially fall out the second day. So 3 stars, not 4. (My 4 star, #1 fave is Innersense Quiet Calm).

This is a great, lightweight gel. It's very liquidy and easy to distribute. I would say it dries moderately crunchy, but it's easy to scrunch out. It gives me good hold, shine, and frizz-control, and my hair has a lot of movement and looks natural. I didn't find it particularly curl-enhancing, but it didn't weigh down my fine curls either. The steep price tag will keep me from using it daily, but this is a definite repurchase.

I've been using this on my thick, frizzy 3b hair for about 2 years now, and so far it's the best thing that I've found. It gets rid of a lot of frizz (if you use a lot) without making hair greasy or crunchy. But it's not "perfect"- I have to layer it with other products if I want to wear my hair down. Also, it seemed to work better when I first started using it- as time went on, it got less and less effective. Even so, it's the best frizz control product I've found so far, and the price is decent.

Without a doubt, this product is the BEST on a hot and humid day. Trust me I know, living on the east coast where humidity is our specialty every summer. As with all Ouidad products, you'll get the most from "Climate Control" by following a regime of bi-weekly Deep Treatments and maintaining your tresses w/the "slice & carve" Ouidad cut. Some of you mention the "crunchies" here's a tip, use just a dab of "Clear Control" pomade over your dried hair. Curls will instantly soften and shine will radiate from your locks. This was one of the first curly hair products I tried, and it was in the summer. It definitely controls humidity, but there is some crunch to it and if too much is used, it weighs my hair down. I've started to mix with Tress FX which provides a good balance.

Pretty satisfied. I have SUPER thick hair and I find that the whole ouidad system really works to make it fall nicer, but its just too time consuming!! A bit greasy looking, but I am still looking for a product that gives shine without looking "wet"

This is a good product but pricey. Gave my hair great shine frizz free definition.

This is one of my HG products( for summer). I get consistently good hair, no frizz and great Curlformation and hold. I use it over a leave in and need no additional products.

Out of all the Ouidad prodcuts I tried in the starter kit, this one was the best. It is a clear thin gel, very easy to apply, and a little goes a long way. Holds up well in the humid weather, but can flake if you don't distribute evenly. Seems to work best when used with the Botanical Boost, but it is still a great product on its own. Overall its wonderful stuff for curly hair, but pretty expensive!!!

Cone filled gel that dried out my hair and didn't keep frizz at bay. Highly dissapointing.

I've been using this product since its inception years ago... and it is the only styler out there that I can truly call my HG! It leaves my hair frizz-free, soft, and conditioned. If I need some extra hold, I blast it with a few spritzes of hairspray and voila! This doesn't do anything for "accentuating" curls, but it's one of the best frizz-busting/smoothing gels around. Absolutely a MUST for humid areas.

I think the 2 curl rating from the Naturallycurly crew is misleading, especially based on what they had to say. This is one of the best products I have ever used. It controls frizz in my highly humid hometown of Savannah, and gives my curls a controlled, shiny, polished look. As long as I don't use too much, there's no crunch. I can't imagine living without this stuff! Give it a try!

I had phenomenal results with climate control. Soft, controlled, wavy curls. Tiny halo of frizz. Key word here is 'controlled'. My curls fell down and relaxed slightly rather than being tight. More 'vertical' than 'horizontal' hair. I can't stop touching my hair! For best results I deep conditioned with Pantene 'Frizz down' leaving a bit in, towel dried my hair without rubbing, sprayed in Quidad's 'botanical boost' and 5 minutes later put in the climate control. I didn't have to use a lot which is great because it is expensive. Not everyday comes out outstanding, but I have had more great hair days with this than anything else.

this gel works great on my waist length 3b curly hair. It can get crunchy but I either diffuse it or 2 hours after air dry it looks great. great next day hair! the price is kind of high but it is worth it.

Probably the best product I have found for combating frizz in humidity. Leaves hair a little bit crunchy if you use too much, but you can avoid crunch by altering the amount you use. My only complaint would be that it is a bit pricey.

I love this gel. It's got perfect consistency, and is moiturizing too. I don't need a ton of hold, so this is perfect for me. This has been a staple of mine for 2 years now.

I have wavy 2b/3a hair. This is my "holy grail" product, and I've used up many of the giant sized bottles. This is the only product that consistently gives me defined shiny waves. It seems pricey, but one giant bottle lasts me for 5-6 months.

I've tried everything to keep my hair from expanding and frizzing in the Florida humidity. This is the only product I use in my hair and I've used if for over a year. I absolutely love it!!!

It was ok. Nothing great. These products are too pricey for what you get. You can get better products at the drugstore or at Sally's.

This does nothing for my hair. I get no curl formation, just as much frizz as I would without products and it leaves my hair feeling dry to boot. Expensive and worthless.

Ouidad products and cut have been great for my hair type -- 3c/4A very thick. My Ouidad cut and light relaxing the curl to a 3C . Hair is very responsive to weather. I use this after washing and conditioning & air dry. It dries crunchy so I uncrunch and open up the curl with a bit of Clear Control pomade or Paul Mitchell Slickworks. You can mix this with Tres F/X if it's too high-test alone.

Love, love, LOVE this! I've started wearing my hair curly again as a result of this product. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so I am forever battling frizz from rain and humidity. This product changed all that. My curls stay smooth and separated all day and are still soft and touchable. I'll be using this for as long as I wear my hair curly!!!

A great gel, but honestly I like the Tress F/X better. The climate control does not leave my curls as soft and I dont have as good clumping of my curls. Great for a wedding in the rain, though!

Gretchen and I fought over this product and it never made it out of her closet. That's the sign of a great product. Great curl formation, little crunch and good humidity protection.

My favorite of the moment. One of only a couple products I took with me on a recent rip. Good curl formation, good humidity resistance. No crunch. Hair is very soft.
