I liked this and kept going back to it until I discovered the ORS hair lotion. It was one of the first oil based products I used and while we all know that oil does not moisturise, it does a good job at keeping the moisture locked into my hair. Yes it can get a little greasy if you use, so be careful if you are heavy handed. Would I still use it, Yes and I still do from time to time
i have extremely thick 3B hair. and i love this stuff for my ends only!!! I have a problem with my hair being too dry, especially my edges and ends...but after a shower while my hair is still damp i apply this to my ends only and by the time my hair is done air drying my ends look refreshed and moisturized. not to mention really soft.
I have tried everything to keep my type 4a hair moisturized...i've serious bought and made every butter and oil mixture known to man. A male friend of mine told me that once I tried this product I would never use anything else and he was sooooo right! This is the only product that keeps my hair moisturized without a greasy or oily feel. My curls are extremely soft and defined and my hair has amazing bounce. I simply wash and condition my hair, apply my leave-in conditioner, some mousse (yes, mousse!) and then my Optimum Therapy before I twist it. The result is the most amazing hair ever!! Hair background: My hair has been chemical free for 11 years (6 years since I have applied color). I was never the at home natural hair care person...I went to a salon every week or two for a wash (they used Aveda products), blow, and style using a flat iron.
Maybe this was not the product for 3c hair but it was too heavy and did not mix well with other products.
Finally a moisturizer for thick hair. This product is sooo thick that I have to mix it with a little bit of water in my hands to get it to spread. It smells awesome and it lasts -- all day long. I don't know how it will take to transitioning hair but if your natural hair is crazy thick and these other runny moisturizers didn't work for you -- this one will. And it doesn't cost 12.99 either. The most expensive I've seen it was about 6 dollars. It's not a natural product but the other natural moisturizers I used did not work for me. There is not a ton of build up, I use it two days in a row then wash it out. Washes out clean. It's not greasy either. This will be a staple product for me.
